My wife and I have owned Pembroke Welsh Corgi's for almost 66 years getting the pick of the first litter in 1952 from the 3 male and 3 female dogs from the Queen's Bowit Kennels outside of London to Willow farms in Connecticut. Willow Farms Cleaverhouse was our first Corgi. We have just lost our last Corgi. For the last almost 13 years we have had Natalie's Magen,our first female Corgi at Ellenton Animal Hospital when Vet services were needed. The secret of the excellence at The Hospital is that not only the wonderful Dr. Susanne there but the entire staff treat every animal as if it was their own and only patient. And most important they work with their HEART and mind. Ellenton Animal Hospital is staffed with the most caring, knowledgable and loving staff you could ask for. To us, they were the best of the best!

My little morkie was limping and favoring her left hind leg, and we needed a vet to look at her STAT! Ellenton Animal Hospital was there when we needed them.1st, they were super booked up for a Saturday, but they made time to see Uli (our morkie), and told us it might be a wait but we'll squeeze her in. They told us to come by around 10:15, and we only needed to wait 15-20 minutes to be seen.The doctor was kind and checked her thoroughly for breaks / ligament injuries, and was patient even when our puppy peed from m nervousness. Uli was ultimately fine, just experiencing patella issues (a common problem with toy pet breeds, apparently).She assured us she was gonna go to be ok, and we were on our way. Can't recommend the staff and facility enough for your pets!

I have been using Ellenton Animal Hospital for over 14 years for all my animals the Vets and the staff have been excellent in caring for my fur babies from taking care of the healthy ones to helping with the ones that had health problems. They had to perform many surgeries on one of our dogs and I wouldn't have trusted or taking her anywhere else! Love them all!!! Thank you for loving our fur babies as much as we do!

Normally I wouldn't take the time to post a review, however perhaps the Owner looks at these reviews. We are relatively new to Ellenton (1 year) and have been looking for a new Veterinarian for our two dogs and two cats. Our cat has developed skin irritations that began in October. I called the day before Thanksgiving and left a message and after not receiving a return call, I emailed clinic the following Saturday. Well, never got a returned call. So my wife went into clinic today and just came home rather upset, as she came to make an appointment and received no attention what so ever. Appears as if receptionist would prefer to chit chat with Techs rather than acknowledge potential new client. I have been in the Animal Health Industry for nearly 20 years and understand the in-clinic dynamic with receptionist versus Technician responsibilities, however some good cross training in customer service is needed at this Animal Hospital, along with a quick refresher on following up

We have used Ellenton Animal Hospital for a couple of years now after having a terrible experience with another Vet in Parrish. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. At some point we have met every Vet and absolutely adore Dr. Dana. He is so good with our animals and is a joy to be around. He is truthful and through in his assessments but handles difficult situations with grace and respect and allows you to process and ask questions. I've never felt rushed. He made a recommendation for a holistic approach for one of our senior dogs that seems to be working. The front desk is always friendly and ready to help! I love this place and we will always use EAH for all of our future needs. Oh, they recently remodeled the waiting area - nice job! Next time I'm in I'll take some pics to post.

I will never run out of nice things to say about this Vet, or the people who work there. My family has been customer's of theirs for the last 20 years. When we needed a second opinion we were referred to a specialist who helped with the final decision to amputate versus euthanize. Her amputation there went smoothly, and there was always someone friendly to answer the phone with my relentless questions and concerns. Love the staff and doctors. Everyone is so kind and nurturing. Very conservative approach to health care which I really like. Some vets will try to do surgeries and things, even if it's a risk for the animal, just to make money. Not here. They are all about being non-invasive and keeping your baby happy, healthy and comfy. Even when they are busy, they're prompt, polite, and thorough. Can't say enough good things!

There's no other way to put it, they killed my dog. Skye was about 8 years old, A border collie rescue I got from Manatee Animal Services. She had been used for puppy mill breeding and when she developed heartworm, they abandoned her on the street. But Skye was a great girl, she tolerated heartworm treatments and became heartworm negative and was in very good health. She was gentle, smart, well behaved and the best you could ever want.One day, she developed a kennel cough, we gave her cough suppressant and Benadryl as recommended and it subsided, but came back a week later. We brought her to the vet, the day before the 4th of July, who placed her on antibiotics and prednisone.Later that night Skye began to pant heavily. We called the on call vet, who happened to be the vet who prescribed the drugs. She seemed to be annoyed that we called and seemed to be preoccupied. She told us that it sounded like Skye was having a reaction to the prednisone and stop giving it to her and she should be fine. A short time later we found Skye dead. I agree with all the other negative reviews on this hospital, they are more concerned about getting their money rather than the well-being of the animals. The killed our Skye and I will never take our other two dogs there. They are murderers.

They have been great helping our GSD she had so many health & skin issues and continues to be on medication because of it, HARLEY GIRL loves going there because she knows the staff are all so friendly and will love on her every chance they can.
HARLEY GIRL was on death row at MDAS (Miami). A rescue dog who was being over bred by previous owners then when she got to a certain age they dumped her at the high kill shelter. She is such a great German Shepherd Dog!

The staff and the doctor went into immediate action and began giving her oxygen, trying to save her. Unfortunately, she was too far gone and couldn't be saved. But the kindness and compassion shown by the doctor and the entire staff was amazing. These are people who truly care for your pet as if it was their own. They made a very sad situation a little easier for me on Saturday and even offered to drive me home if I was too upset to drive. I thought service like this was nonexistent these days, but it isn't. Not at the Ellenton Animal Hospital. My sincerest thanks to the entire staff.

I have not had an issue of anything negative as of yet. They caught a diagnosis of my old beagle that I thought was an allergy issue which turned out to be CHF. That probably saved his life. Their diagnosis, thus far, appear honest and are not designed to simply sell you the most expensive treatment(s). They are good about their scheduling and always friendly.UPDATE: I had to put my beloved beagle asleep and the way this place handled it was remarkable.

My wife and I have owned Pembroke Welsh Corgi's for almost 66 years getting the pick of the first litter in 1952 from the 3 male and 3 female dogs from the Queen's Bowit Kennels outside of London to Willow farms in Connecticut. Willow Farms Cleaverhouse was our first Corgi. We have just lost our last Corgi. For the last almost 13 years we have had Natalie's Magen,our first female Corgi at Ellenton Animal Hospital when Vet services were needed. The secret of the excellence at The Hospital is that not only the wonderful Dr. Susanne there but the entire staff treat every animal as if it was their own and only patient. And most important they work with their HEART and mind. Ellenton Animal Hospital is staffed with the most caring, knowledgable and loving staff you could ask for. To us, they were the best of the best!

My little morkie was limping and favoring her left hind leg, and we needed a vet to look at her STAT! Ellenton Animal Hospital was there when we needed them.1st, they were super booked up for a Saturday, but they made time to see Uli (our morkie), and told us it might be a wait but we'll squeeze her in. They told us to come by around 10:15, and we only needed to wait 15-20 minutes to be seen.The doctor was kind and checked her thoroughly for breaks / ligament injuries, and was patient even when our puppy peed from m nervousness. Uli was ultimately fine, just experiencing patella issues (a common problem with toy pet breeds, apparently).She assured us she was gonna go to be ok, and we were on our way. Can't recommend the staff and facility enough for your pets!

I have been using Ellenton Animal Hospital for over 14 years for all my animals the Vets and the staff have been excellent in caring for my fur babies from taking care of the healthy ones to helping with the ones that had health problems. They had to perform many surgeries on one of our dogs and I wouldn't have trusted or taking her anywhere else! Love them all!!! Thank you for loving our fur babies as much as we do!

Their staff treats our animals with dignity, respect ,and kindness...I could not ask for more. Their prices are fair and their medication prices are consistent with what you could get at Walmart or Walgreens. Highly recommended.

Normally I wouldn't take the time to post a review, however perhaps the Owner looks at these reviews. We are relatively new to Ellenton (1 year) and have been looking for a new Veterinarian for our two dogs and two cats. Our cat has developed skin irritations that began in October. I called the day before Thanksgiving and left a message and after not receiving a return call, I emailed clinic the following Saturday. Well, never got a returned call. So my wife went into clinic today and just came home rather upset, as she came to make an appointment and received no attention what so ever. Appears as if receptionist would prefer to chit chat with Techs rather than acknowledge potential new client. I have been in the Animal Health Industry for nearly 20 years and understand the in-clinic dynamic with receptionist versus Technician responsibilities, however some good cross training in customer service is needed at this Animal Hospital, along with a quick refresher on following up

We have used Ellenton Animal Hospital for a couple of years now after having a terrible experience with another Vet in Parrish. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. At some point we have met every Vet and absolutely adore Dr. Dana. He is so good with our animals and is a joy to be around. He is truthful and through in his assessments but handles difficult situations with grace and respect and allows you to process and ask questions. I've never felt rushed. He made a recommendation for a holistic approach for one of our senior dogs that seems to be working. The front desk is always friendly and ready to help! I love this place and we will always use EAH for all of our future needs. Oh, they recently remodeled the waiting area - nice job! Next time I'm in I'll take some pics to post.

I will never run out of nice things to say about this Vet, or the people who work there. My family has been customer's of theirs for the last 20 years. When we needed a second opinion we were referred to a specialist who helped with the final decision to amputate versus euthanize. Her amputation there went smoothly, and there was always someone friendly to answer the phone with my relentless questions and concerns. Love the staff and doctors. Everyone is so kind and nurturing. Very conservative approach to health care which I really like. Some vets will try to do surgeries and things, even if it's a risk for the animal, just to make money. Not here. They are all about being non-invasive and keeping your baby happy, healthy and comfy. Even when they are busy, they're prompt, polite, and thorough. Can't say enough good things!

The place was clean and didn't smell like animals. So happy I found them.

There's no other way to put it, they killed my dog. Skye was about 8 years old, A border collie rescue I got from Manatee Animal Services. She had been used for puppy mill breeding and when she developed heartworm, they abandoned her on the street. But Skye was a great girl, she tolerated heartworm treatments and became heartworm negative and was in very good health. She was gentle, smart, well behaved and the best you could ever want.One day, she developed a kennel cough, we gave her cough suppressant and Benadryl as recommended and it subsided, but came back a week later. We brought her to the vet, the day before the 4th of July, who placed her on antibiotics and prednisone.Later that night Skye began to pant heavily. We called the on call vet, who happened to be the vet who prescribed the drugs. She seemed to be annoyed that we called and seemed to be preoccupied. She told us that it sounded like Skye was having a reaction to the prednisone and stop giving it to her and she should be fine. A short time later we found Skye dead. I agree with all the other negative reviews on this hospital, they are more concerned about getting their money rather than the well-being of the animals. The killed our Skye and I will never take our other two dogs there. They are murderers.

HARLEY GIRL was on death row at MDAS (Miami). A rescue dog who was being over bred by previous owners then when she got to a certain age they dumped her at the high kill shelter. She is such a great German Shepherd Dog!

On Saturday, Sept. 26, my 5 lb, 11 year old Japanese Chin was gasping for breath and had begun turning blue. The staff and the doctor went into immediate action and began giving her oxygen, trying to save her. Unfortunately, she was too far gone and couldn't be saved. But the kindness and compassion shown by the doctor and the entire staff was amazing. These are people who truly care for your pet as if it was their own. They made a very sad situation a little easier for me on Saturday and even offered to drive me home if I was too upset to drive. I thought service like this was nonexistent these days, but it isn't. Not at the Ellenton Animal Hospital. My sincerest thanks to the entire staff.

Their diagnosis, thus far, appear honest and are not designed to simply sell you the most expensive treatment(s). They are good about their scheduling and always friendly.UPDATE: I had to put my beloved beagle asleep and the way this place handled it was remarkable.

Spoke to a tech when my small female puppy had a UTI. Was told on a Friday that he could make an appointment for Monday!!! Unbelievable and unacceptable! Went to Desoto Animal Clinic. Administered to her right away. Might have saved her life. Needless to say they've lost a client and 2 dogs to care for.
