This is the 3rd vet that I have gone to since moving here 6 years ago, and this is where we are going to continue to come. It's easy to get an appointment and the wait time to see the doctor is reasonable. The front office staff and vet techs are polite and friendly. Dr. Clekis is awesome. He is very personable and willing to discuss your pets plan of care and not just tell you what to do and send you on your way like some other vets I have seen. Understanding the thought process helps me to help care for my pet at home. We are trying some things for my yorkie's fear of thunderstorms and he's very engaged about coming up with a solution and ensuring that I keep him informed about how my dog is doing. So glad I found this practice!

Another vet in the area wanted to do a costly surgery on my girl dog. We took her to North River for a second opinion and Dr Lewis suggested it could be nothing more than bad allergies, after 6 months on medication my dog is completely symptom free. No words to express how much we love this vet.

They were able to quickly get us an appointment scheduled. The vet and assistant took their time speaking with us to make sure the diagnosis was correct and what we should do for the treatment.

We have not been able to leave as planned & my dog needed his shots & meds. I chose No. River Animal Hosp. , after checking out alot of Vets. I was very pleased with our visit and now have a Fl Vet!

We are new to Florida and were mystified by all the of the "animal hospitals" that are here. Not to mention pet vaccines offered at pharmacies and gas stations. Truly, not all such named are the same. North River Animal Hospital is truly the professional Veterinarian office we were looking for. The entire staff is truly wonderful and they all know their stuff. We know we can trust the care of our dog with them.

If you value your pets life DO NOT go to this place! Incompetence is an understatement! Extremely unprofessional, ran tests without authorization. And traumatized my pet. Running a daycare with the vets children running around everywhere. I had to go to a different and competent vet the day after to get my pet well! Horrible place!

Dr. Nelson, as well as her staff, are really nice and you can tell that they really care about the animals. In regards to the other reviewer: Yes, you sign the estimate before u see the vet but it is within your power to decline anything on the estimate. If you are thinking about going to this vet, please do not let the negative review hinder you. This place is phenominal and you will not be disappointed!!!

I don't know about the 1st reviewer, but we have always had very good care for our maltichon at North River Veterinary Hospital. The staff is friendly and competent. And as for the comment that people in Parrish have no choice..there are several other veterinary clinics around the area. We happen to have chosen this one for our puppy and have made the choice that when you have great businesses in your area, you should support them. Be assured that your pet, like ours, will have excellent care at North River!!!

I completely disagree with the previous reviewer. This office was so extremely helpful in my time of need with my dog. Got me in right away. Absolutely didn't offer me tests that weren't needed. Give you the facts and then help you to make an informed decision. I called several times to asks questions of the staff about my dog after the visit and they were EXTREMELY helpful and sympathetic to what I was going through. They provided a house call which was very reasonable and very compassionate. They even sent me a sympathy card and plant when we lost our dog. I would highly recommend this vet and office to anyone!!!! They are priced the same as any other good vet in town.

Vet is very nice but my wallet was heavily drained every time I walked in there. $100 -150+. I was paying for a huge not so nice staff and tests that I was cornered to do. Some of the staff did whatever they could to run my tab up--even after I said no--they still worked on me to make me feel like I was not caring for my pet till I gave in. You see a tech that makes you sign the estimate for the bill BEFORE you see the vet. It makes you feel like if you don't sign--you do not see the vet. UNREAL !!! And they keep you coming back for check ups $$ and finding endless reasons to get in your wallet. They don't seem to get it not everyone has a bottomless bank account for every little think they can dream up. The vet needs to clean out the staff working with her in the back.They leave a not so good feeling when you leave that place.

It's easy to get an appointment and the wait time to see the doctor is reasonable. The front office staff and vet techs are polite and friendly. Dr. Clekis is awesome. Give you the facts and then help you to make an informed decision.
