My dog needed emergency surgery and our original vet wasn't able to perform that kind of task. I found Turkey Creek on the web and called. The woman who answered was nice, patient, and helpful. Brought him in same day and surgery was done that afternoon. Drs were very down to earth in explaining recovery process and patient with me as I was a nervous wreck... brought him back for follow ups and wasn't charged! I absolutely love this vets office. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I have only really dealt with Dr.Dehaven and Dr. Altman and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dogs. They’ve helped me through regular check ups, emergency situations and even the recent loss of my thirteen year old beagle and they always work to get you in if you need a last minute appointment. Putting down a dog even for the right reasons is heartbreaking and Dr. Altman and her team did everything they could do on their part to ease the pain. IIwoulg give these amazing humans 20 stars if I could. Our dog almost died from a surgery from Animal Wellness Center. I know it's the risk associated with any surgery, but it was botched from the beginning. He had only one testicle and without preforming an ultrasound first, they assumed that the other had just not dropped when in fact they found nothing after digging in his abdomen for the second one. They did not suture his muscular wall properly which resulted in the wound completely opening, becoming life threateningly infected and ended up costing him another surgery and two extra weeks recovery time. Thank God for Dr. Artman and the staff at Turkey Creek Animal Hospital. The second surgery was done beautifully and he was set up for success with the proper medication from time we expressed concern or else he might not be here today. Very caring clinic. They're busy, so they aren't going to fawn all over you, but they did a great job of getting us in on an emergency. Our cats (Pistachio/Two-of/Three-of) LOVE the doctors and the docs were super understanding when we had to make decisions between different dental options because of budget reasons.  We've had to go to Blue Pearl on a few late night/weekend issues, but TCAH always checked in on us for follow ups. Until my last visit my experience with this vet was very good. They got rid of my King Charles puppies heartworm it was not cheap however, I was glad to save his life. I have used them for about a year and a half. I took my cat with an infection on his mouth two weeks ago. The vet that treated him did not introduce herself or even tell us she was the doctor. She removed him from the room for treatment which upset my wife. The vet said he was allergic to plastic dishes. We got rid of our plastic dishes and bought metal and glass. The young lady doctor was apparently wrong as his infection is worse than before. All this for $150.00. We called and they said a " recheck" was $30.00 Im not going to use them again. Pet Owners Be Warned!! This place is strictly a business! Because for a "hospital" they do NOT behave like one. We found a bull terrier mix wandering on McIntosh Road. The cars on this road drive very fast & we were concerned that the dog might get run over if it had not already been hit. It was limping on one of it's front paws. It had a tag and was clearly cared for & had a sweet and loving disposition. So we loaded him into our car and took him to the closest vet, Turkey Creek Animal Hospital. My husband explained the situation to the vet techs and to our disgust and dismay they refused to take care of the dog unless we were willing to assume the costs of any care. They wouldn't even look at the dog! After explaining the dog had tags and we just needed help finding the owner they still seemed unwilling to take the dog and said they might not have a kennel and they would need to call animal control (and FL euthanizes unclaimed strays) Seriously!?!! You can drop a baby off at a hospital or fire station with less hassle than these people gave us!! (Not that I've ever done that) They say they're an "animal hospital" but they only seem to care about who pays the bills! Eventually a vet tech came out with a chip reader but it couldn't read the chip. My husband gave them the location where we found the dog and eventually it was determined that the dog was previously seen by the vet and then -- and only then would they accept custody of the sweet dog. They didn't even look at him or check him for injuries while we were there. All they cared about was who would take care of the bills. They were perfectly happy to threaten us and the dogs life with calling animal control. I am absolutely disgusted by their attitude and behavior. The only thing that changed their tune was the potential for money! We gave the vet our contact information and turned the dog, Junior, over to the vet. We called back later to make sure the dog was reunited with it's owner & it was but the whole experience left a terrible impression of Turkey Creek Animal Hospital. As a pet owner I am appalled at their lack of concern for the animals we love. They only act like they care about pets but they only want your money! I have been bringing my dog, Sadie, to Turkey Creek for about 3 1/2 years, and the entire staff has been amazing. Dr. DeHaven and Dr. Marks have helped us work with a case of very itchy skin caused by allergies, trying different approaches until we found the long-term solution that worked. We recently adopted another rescue dog, Ruffles, and Dr. Marks was extremely helpful in getting him checked out and determining a course of action to get him strong and healthy. My Grandmother has been going to Dr. Marks since I was a little girl. My dog has a sore in the back of her throat and I needed an appointment asap. I didn't scedule with Dr. Marks because I just needed to get in and get answers. Dr. Nash saw me was very friendly, understanding and helpful. When we got ready to look in my dogs mouth at the sore she even brought in another Vet so she could have more eyes for it and a second opinion. I am on a tight budget and we were able to work out the kinks and get blood work, pain meds, anti inflammatory meds, and antibitoics for my dog on a budget. I have made a follow up for next week so we can go from there to see if my dog is improving. She was upfront with her professional opinion on every matter and all around this was as pleasant as this type of experience and circumstances can be. Its not easy when your pet is sick and she seemed to understand that and work with me. I Will defiently be bring the rest of my pets here for any and all future needs. Plus my dog is responding well to her medication and is starting to act like her old self in just one day. I can not rave enough about the staff at Turkey Creek Animal Hospital. My dog Smokey (a 15 year old chug) was having problems breathing, and Dr. Jenn Nash and Kris the assistant were the ones who helped me with him. After some tests they came back and found cancer throughout his entire body. I had thought that maybe he could get a shot for his breathing and we go home, but he had to be put down. I spent my last day with him, had our last walk, the night was pure hell, he just couldnt breathe and was in a lot of pain. At 8 am I called them and they said come in now. So I did. I had lost a son previously when he was a baby, and to say I was distraught about losing my precious dog is an understatement. I completely lost it. How can I convey to people thinking about going there with their animals what these people are like? Dr. Nash cried with me, and they changed their schedule on a moments notice so they could help my dear Smokey to be free of pain. They helped me not carry the burden of putting him down all alone. That in itself was worth everything. Dr. Nash is an angel who helps those helpless animals in pain be free of pain. I cannot say enough about her and Kris, and I think of them every single day. They are the most wonderful HUMAN BEINGS I have ever met. After he passed, Dr. Nash sent me a lovely card and a poem which hangs framed on my wall now. Its been a month since he passed, and I havent been able to pay my last bill yet, (been in hospital for my heart) but you can rest assured, that will be taken care of. Their prices are VERY reasonable, compared to all the others. You simply get the best care you can possibly get, at a great price. And that says it all. Dr. Nash, you are an angel, I appreciate every kindness you have given me, and it will never be forgotten, as long as I live. Plus Smokeys mate is in deep trouble now, she is grieving herself to death, and I need to get her in soon to get looked at. I would ONLY trust my beloved dog to Dr. Nash and her fine staff. I have taken my parents Golden Retriever here a few times over the last year. At one point he had an ear infection and one of the assistants (I assume she was a vet tech) came in with a long Q-Tip to get a sample and she shoved it deep into his ear in a rough and quick fashion causing him to yelp loudly in pain. I have two dogs and I've experienced ear infections with them before but NEVER have I seen anyone jam a Q-Tip like that into their ears. I said "woah! Did you have to do that to him like that?!?" And she said "yes ma'am" in a very rude way. I decided to let it go as I assumed she had NO idea what she was doing and promising myself that I wouldn't let her anywhere near him again. We came back after that and never saw her again. Other than that I had good experiences with this vet and would have recommended them until this latest incident. My parents took the dog in for issues with his feet. Well after my mother explained what she thought was going on with his feet to the staff, my mom told me that they walked to the back and closed the door. My parents could hear them having a hearty laugh about the way my mother explained what she thought was going on with his feet in a very condescending and hurtful way. My parents left after having some choice parting words with the staff. Their dog ended up not getting the care he needed today because of their unprofessionalism. I can't begin to explain how hurtful it is, and how angry it makes me feel, to know how badly my 70 year old parents were treated. I have such a deep appreciation for this animal hospital. My poor share pei has suffered from seizures, fevers, ear infections and a plethora of other ailments, not to mention he abhors visits to the vet. Through it all Dr. Nash has shown nothing but patience for him and myself, who tends to ask a profusion of questions. Knowing that I am a working college student, she has and continues to work with me to find the best options for treatment for the best price.
