This vet clinic is a nightmare!  Our beloved pets are not treated with care. You are not allowed to stay with your pet during the exam. Treatment, including medication and injections are given without consent. The veterinarian handles the animals with frustration and rage, even when they are sick and weak. The veterinarian treats his staff as if they are slaves and they are miserable and embarrassed by the way the vet addresses the pet owners and handles the pets. Read Facebook!  Search for posts on this clinic.  You will want to help shut this place down!!  Never again will I bring my beloved pet to this man. I will wait for my vet to open the next day. Once was enough!! Read Less

Horindious! DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMALS TO THIS DIRT BAG! He not only has a horrible personality but he misdiagnosed my pure bred donkey and told my family it would be "best" to put her down. He refuses to perform testing to confirm due to his "excellent experience". Took our sweet donkey to another vet, was given the test that Bailey was guaranteed it was, and she was tested negative. Performed a couple shots, antibiotics and with good TLC our sweet donkey made a 360 recovery. Larry Bailey likes to take the easy route in "fixing" an issue. We could of lost our family pet all because he is too full of himself. Read Less

Our cat incurred an abscess outdoors. We called this animal clinic and now she is abscess free. Just yesterday she was dismissed from further checkups and she is doing very well. All the credit goes to Dr Bailey who has monitored and medicated her extremely well. His work is outstanding. As for the remainder of this clinic and without any further detailed comments I have to agree with some content in the reviews. This makes me having to reconsider revisiting should a clinic be called for once again in future but this reconsideration steers free from Dr. Bailey's great performance. Read Less

Our first experience here was having our pets neutered, and we honestly felt like it was overpriced. Although, I will say the staff was friendly and caring. The second time we had to use them it was an emergency. Our dog fell ill unexpectedly one night and we rushed him up after hours. Unsure of what the issue was, the doctor kept him over night....our dog ended up spending 3 days under their care. Every day we were updated at length on the progress and options. And because he didn’t exactly know the underlying issue he continued to treat the symptoms and no doubt saved our dogs life! Now although I was worried about my dog I was also worried about the bill! I was certain with the round o’clock care for 3 nights, I.Vs....antibiotics etc I would have to take out a 2nd mortgage! Lol. However, when the bill came it was unbelievably reasonable!!! I was actually shocked! So, I’m sorry if others have not had the best experience, I didn’t at first either.....but now this is the only place we’ll take our babies! Read Less

After calling our normal vet on memorial day weekend ad being told she didn't know of anyone who could see pigs on the weekend, we found Walden Lake Animal Clinic online and called the number. Dr. Bailey answered and we gave him our 3 month old pig Bolt's symptoms (throwing up and lethargic which is not good in pigs.) Dr. Bailey was about an hour away but saw him immediately. He ended up staying there for several days but Dr. Bailey only ordered tests when necessary. For example, rather than running an X-ray on the first day to check for an obstruction, he waited to see if Bolt continued to vomit (he did) before running it the second day. He called us every day, and was always available on his cell if we wanted to check on him. Bolt came home this afternoon and is almost back to his normal pig self. We are switching to Dr. Bailey for the pigs, even though we live an hour away, and maybe for all of our animals. Thank you Dr. Bailey for helping Bolt come back home to us and his brother Thunder:) Read Less

After our normal vet in Tampa was unavailable and no local emergency vets treated pigs we found Walden online. We called on memorial day weekend with a vomiting and lethargic three-month-old baby pig, and Dr Bailey saw him right away. He doesn't sugarcoat anything but took great care of our baby and Bolt just came home today. He seems to be doing great. We will be definitely using him for both of our pigs and probably for our other animals as well, even though we live 45 minutes away. Dr. Bailey also gave us his cell phone and told us to call anytime in addition to the daily updates he gave us on ball. We're so thankful that he nursed him back to health and that Bolt is home with us and his brother Thunder. Read Less

The staff was courteous and the doctor was knowledgeable. I appreciate that they met me after hours for an emergency visit. However, I cannot give them 5 stars because the prices were absolutely outrageous. No surgery was performed. It entailed a catheterization, fluids, and some meds plus 2 extra days of observation for my cat. I had explained that this was a stray cat that I'd found as a kitten on the side of the road. He is now, of course, a part of the family, but still. I don't know how many people could afford a vet bill like they hit me with. Total cost: $1200.... Absolutely ridiculous. Read Less

To be honest, I have only used WLAC twice. Both times were emergencies. My first experience was back in 2003 and my Vet was Southside. My daughter adopted a pet from the SPCA that was just spayed. They sent us home with NO stitches & not enough glue to hold the incision closed. After the incision opened up we took our Pet to Southside and they turned us away. Told us to come back in about 4 hours. We had blood/guts everywhere and called WLAC they took her in immediately. Dr. Bailey was upfront & honest about the possible outcome of having a pin hole tear her intestine. It was a scary couple of days but she made it!! Needless to say.... we do not use Southside for anything! Our second emergency was just this week. It was later in the evening and our regular Vet was already closed. Our older dog injured his paw. Again WLAC took him in right away & checked everything out for us. I have read other comments on here about price and/or the office being too fancy and other negative comments. But for me, you cant put a price on an emergency! When no other Vet would help or was available to help WLAC was. And that says it all for me! I live further south of this office and have considered making WLAC my regular Vet. The ONLY reason that has not happened yet is the proximity to my home. Dr. Bailey is the BEST! Read Less

I only chose one star because I had to in order to leave a review.  I have never been so disgusted with a professional before.  My adopted cat, 5 days post -op, was crying and had not urinated in 19 hours.  I had been gone all day and when I returned home and was informed of her condition I searched to find an emergency facility.  The vet I believe was Dr. Bailey answered the phone and immediately wanted to tell me what an emergency was and did not even listen to what was wrong with my cat.  I discontinued the call and he called me back to tell me that he gets 40 calls a night that people claim are emergent but over half the people calling treat his clinic like Walmart and think it's 24hours to come and go.  He was very pompous and condescending.  I found an alternate place to take her and will Never use that office for any reason. Rude vet, rude and unorganized staff. Only visited due to my personal vet being on vacation. They asked my husband to fill out paperwork and then the people at the desk pretty much ignored everything he wrote because literacy is underrated. Vet recommended surgery for a simple furuncle. Suggested regular this, laser surgery, and nothing else. My husband had to ask him for antibiotics. Luckily my husband left and our real vet said that surgery and laser removal was insane. We won't be back to this vet. The only good thing was that the vet gave him the antibiotics, only AFTER my husband asked for it. A furuncle is a boil that is easily cleared with antibiotics. My visit to the Walden Lake Animal Clinic was by far the worst Veterinary experience I've ever had in my life. I took my dog in for what I thought was a problem with her mouth because I noticed her drooling a tiny bit of blood. The doctor condescendingly told me that it wasnt anything to do with her mouth, that she was in heat and that the was blood from her vagina. Then after actually examining my dog he realized she IS NOT in heat and there is a severe rash in her vaginal area. He then told me that he needed to do a hygienic trim on my dog's face, which ended up in my dog's face covered and abrasions from the razor he used -we were lied to and told that they do not use razors on these animals. We were then told we would be receiving a pack of 6 heartworm and flea medication, handed the medication and were prompted on how to administer the medication and when to do it each month. The doctor then snatched the bag out of my hand, took it to the other room and started yelling at his assistant about matters which I'm unsure of. When i got home i realized he switched the 6 pack of medication with a 1 pack WITHOUT INFORMING ME WHATSOEVER, and still charged me the same price we discussed for the 6 pack of medication. We contacted the office to discuss our horrible experience and we were told we would get a call back from a manager. "Alicia" called us later that day and was by far the rudest most unprofessional "manager" I have ever dealt with, and and she quickly informed me that she would not do anything to resolve this issue other than talk to the employees and make sure their stories don't match up with mine. She then hung up on me and when i tried to call her back she told me if i tried to contact her again she would "sue me for harassment". Please, if you have any love for your animals, AVOID THIS CLINIC AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!! Read Less

I had to wait an hour just to be seen by the tech. I was a new client, so she didn't even give me to proper paperwork to fill out while I was waiting. Second, the vet tech did not even remember what my dogs problem was. I had to remind her. Third, we finally get in to be seen by the vet, Dr. Bailey I believe. I had to stand at the doorway while he had my little girl on a table. He did not seem like he liked my dog very much and he did not comfort her at all. He had to take blood, and he shaved way too much of her fur that was needed (another vet said this, this isn't an opinion). She freaked out so much when he tried to take her blood, I thought the needle got stuck in her when he backed away from her. He never warned me that she might have a bruise afterward, which scared me too. The exam that I paid full price for consisted of him looking in her ears, and touching her butt. Nothing else. I even asked if that was all they were doing. Then, the vet continued to argue with me about her bladder medicine, I am not a vet but after speaking with my old vet, he didn't know what he was talking about. They said they would email me her blood work but never did. I even called to remind them and they still forgot. The reason why I was seeking a new vet was because my normal one is over an hour away from where I live now. She needed her teeth cleaned, which is a procedure using anesthesia. After this visit, there is no way I would trust this clinic with my dogs life like that. Read Less

Very unpersonable, and excessively expensive. Went in for a routine check up and vaccinations, and they took my dog to a back room for the entire thing, which was very odd. The vet acted like he couldn't care less about talking to me, I was just left to sit in a treatment room for about 30 minutes. They up charge for everything, it's a constant sales job here and if you say you don't want something they roll their eyes and ignore you. The oddest part was when I asked for a prescription for the Flea and worm preventative I use, which they do not carry, they told me that they were going to report me to "the government" for wanting to use 1-800-pet-Meds. Said it was an illegal operation. I laughed it off and asked for a scrip anyway, which I was more than willing to pay the $10 fee for. I didn't notice until I got home (they give it to you in an envelope) that they wrote the prescription for the brand of drug they sell, not what I asked for. Went back and asked them to fix it and they said they would only fix it if I paid another $10, the vet didn't even have the basic people skills to come and tell me this himself he just had his tech do it. They also charged another office visit to come back for a booster for the vaccines I got with our original visit 2 weeks earlier, which I thought was excessive. Stay away from this place, they will take every cent off of you and treat you very poorly. Read Less

I can't speak to the quality of their veterinary care, however, the staff seems very unorganized and unprofessional. I made reservations to board my dogs today, over Memorial Day weekend, and per their instructions, delivered my dogs vet records several days prior to the weekend. The woman at the front desk took the records, looked over them, said she'd put them in the computer and that I was set to go to drop them off Saturday. Upon arriving Saturday, they had no idea where the records were and they were not in the system. I had fortunately brought another copy because the person at the front desk seemed a bit flaky, and I thought this might happen. But this time, they said my records were not sufficient and that they'd have to undergo a physical exam and 2 more vaccines in order to board there, for an extra $150. Why wasn't this told to me over the phone, or when I dropped off my records? I've boarded my dogs at other places with no problems with just DHPP, rabies, and bordatella; I understand if this place has different requirements, but they should have told me that when I dropped off my records instead of waiting until the morning of a holiday weekend. The vet tech said this has been happening lately. So now my options were: 1) Have my memorial day plans cancelled or 2) Pay an extra $150 and give my dog, who has a history of allergic reactions to vaccines, a vaccine he has never had before and just leave him. No way. I just moved to Plant City and was looking for a new regular vet and boarding place, as my dogs go to boarding every other weekend, very disappointing. Read Less

My horse Hank spent several days in this man's care.  He has absolutely the worst bedside manner I have ever seen and zero compassion.  When we decided to end Hank's discomfort and arranged for the euthanasia he showed up, administered the injection and dropped my horse like he was nothing.  No comforting words, no I'm sorry for your loss, pretty much got inhistruck and left.  I will NEVER use this guy again and advise anyone else looking for pet care to run in the other direction from him.  One of the most horrible experiences of my life!

Read Less

Both doctor and staff are very kind and caring towards my 20 year old dog named Misty. At first I was a little skeptical about the whole process of me not being allowed to be in the room with my geriatric pet while being examined by the doctor. The staff was very kind and left the door open so I was able to watch everything and ask as may questions as I wanted. This Doctor is rated very high on my list. After my thousand questions the Doctor came in the room to see how everything was doing and let me know that they offer 24hr. emergency services so I was able to call at any time if I had an emergency. I would recommended this Doctor and staff to anyone that wants what is best for their pet. Also the inside of the practice smelled great and was very clean. Five Star's all the way. Read Less

I love the facility here. They are in the main artery of plant city, which makes it really convenient. I took my new cats (tiger&jasmine) to get a neuter and spay. The procedures were a major success without any complications. During the follow up to remove the stitches, I made an appointment for their declaw. (Magneto), my 2 year old golden retriever has been going to Dr. Bailey for checkups and vaccinations for over a year now and I have never had a problem. A++++++ Read Less

Your first impression when you walk in is WOW! I move frequently because of my job and have been to many vets office. Walden Lake Animal Clinic is by far the cleanest clinic I've taken my pets to. I went in for a lump on the side of my dog. Dr. Bailey did an exam and then talked to us about removing it. They were able to schedule the surgery for the next day and removed the lump with no issues. They are very detail oriented and computer friendly. Both techs and doctors are very knowledgeable and extremely professional. They even gave us a detailed report after to explain everything he is due for and the procedure itself. If you want people who truly care about your pets then this is the place to go. P.S. We toured their boarding facility...Also Immaculate with large suites. Can't wait to board our pup there. FIVE STARS INDEED!!!Read Less

Read Less

I've been taking my golden retriever there for a few months. We utilize their boarding facility frequently. The staff are always super friendly and accommodating of my schedule changes for drop off and pick up. My dog really likes the people there and has gone from not wanting me to leave her to loving on the techs when I drop her off. As for the vet, my interactions have been limited, but my dog seems to like him. If you are looking for a vet that's going to make the experience about you, it's probably the wrong place, but I do feel confident that he and his staff are taking the best care possible of my dog and that's what really matters. AWESOME!!!!!  One word sums it up.  Dr. Bailey is not the 'nicest' doctor but he did surgery on my dog and saved his life.  He is an excellent veterinarian.  His staff are very educated and well trained unlike the people that work at the other clinics I've been too.  Even the practice manager chips in to get things done.  Been there for a few visits now and already it feels like I'm part of their family.  These people are great.  They absolutely have it figured out. And they absolutely know wht they are doing Read Less

Had to bring my dog Susie in on a Wednesday afternoon because she started vomiting and my usual vet was closed and Walden Lake was the only office I could find open. When I got to the clinic they immediately got me and in an exam room. I thought the doctor and staff were very helpful and good at explaining the problems and different treatment options. My dog Susie was feeling better in no time! I plan on changing to Walden Lake permanently. Also found out they have a great boarding facility there also and plan on Susie staying with them our next vacation. Read Less
