We love Central Broward Animal Hospital! Everyone is so kind and caring - from the vets to the techs to the ladies at the front desk. They pay great attention to the comfort of their animal friends, and also the animal owners. Soothing sounds and smells for the animals. Coffee, drinks, and juice boxes (my kids' favorite!) in the waiting room. Convenient online appointment making. Clean and well-maintained facility. I normally bring my favorite furry friend in with my 4 young children along for the ride. That could be a headache, but they are so accommodating and that makes our visits super-easy. We have had pets for many years but this is one of the only best where they are all extremely friendly at the front desk and eager to get you in and out so you can get on with your business for the day. Nothing but the best care! My dog has been treated by many of the Vets at Central Broward Animal Hospital, but mainly by Dr. Lezcano ! She is caring, professional, thorough, and takes the time to listen and explain things to me. She treats my dog as if she was her own. I've been taking my dog to Central Broward Animal Hospital for 5 years. When I first rescued my dog, she was only 6 weeks old. She had an upper respiratory infection and kennel cough that could have taken her life being the fact she was so young. They saved her with their care. There is no other place that I would trust to provide medical care to my dog. I have also boarded my dog there on many occasions and have left her knowing she's in good hands. We LOVE Central Broward Animal Hospital, the Doctors, Nurses, and Support Staff are amazing. We have two Old English Mastiff puppies who adore Dr. Oms and everyone at CBAH. The puppies get excited each time they go to the vet for an appointment or for boarding. The puppies are well trained but a lot to handle because of their size and young age; I am so thankful to have a nice, clean, safe, fun place to bring them when we are away. Regarding major services, we had both puppies neutered at CBAH and the procedures went well and follow up care was fantastic. I feel comfortable knowing that if the puppies ever had an emergency, we would be taken care of by the best. Read Less

A very nice facility and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The owner, Dr. Wald, even introduced himself as he welcomed my dog in the lobby. He seemed very interested in her history, which shows that this is a very caring veterinary clinic.  The nurse was thorough and efficient and the vet, Dr. C-C, was professional and attentive to our dog.Yet, I was disappointed that my request for a competetive rate on a procedure fee was rejected. We came to this vet specifically for a requested test for a consulting Veterinary Neurologist.  I know very well what it costs, and could have gotten it done for less at the leading emergency animal hospital in Broward.  But I wanted a new Vet, closer to home and was unhappy with our long-time Vet farther away. I have driven by this neighborhood vet for many, many years and yet never chose to switch until now. I was willing to overlook the refusal because they gave us a discounted first visit appointment, which was much appreciated and made it affordable to pay the test fee. Well aware of the high costs of veterinary care, my husband & I have  we seen four veterinarians & specialists in the past two months and have spent nearly $9,000 in emergency care, tests and medications. Some of the vets were only out to make a buck and one told us to euthanize our little dog.  Which we now know was not necessary. She is normalizing and happy and continues to give us great joy, and will for several years more.So, in future, we suggest  that when a new client comes into this facility, the management & owner will comprehend the VALUE and LONG-TERM BENEFITS of obtaining a "new customer" and be sympathetic to the family and NOT the clinic's profit-margin! We have had an excellent experience with this animal hospital. The office is very clean. The entire staff, from the front desk to the techs and the doctors are extremely courteous, friendly and accommodating. It is obvious that everyone in the office genuinely loves animals. Dr. Wald is a terrific doctor. He is very knowledgeable, very friendly and made us feel very much at ease.. He took a lot of time with us, explained everything he was doing, and answered all of our questions clearly to our complete satisfaction. Everyone handled our dogs with care and patience. When we called the office the next day with a question, Dr. Wald was not in the office, but Dr. Powers returned our call promptly with the answer to our question. We are very glad we found them.  Our dog had a large benign growth on his elbow & 2 other vets stated they had no choice but to put him under w/ general anesthesia to remove---neither would do procedure w/ only a local.  I thought both were merely trying to pad bill & he is an older dog & $ aside we didn't want to do general anesthesia given his age if could be avoided.  Central Broward Animal Hospital said there would be no problem at all doing the procedure w/ a local (at half the $ the other 2 quoted)---dog was totally cooperative/relaxed and did great w/ just thoroughly numbing the site, they did a super job---perfect stitches & scar won't even be noticeable when healed.  Very nice, spotlessly clean facility.  Super nice, caring, friendly staff & highly competent, knowledgeable vet that actually listened to us and our concerns.  Highly recommended!!! Took my dog to Central Broward to have him neutered. They opened him up, left gauze inside him, which caused an infection. They had to keep him for 3 months because of their mistake, my brand new puppy. In addition, they made me pay extra for the treatment medications for the infection they caused. Please stay away. They rip you off left and right and I almost had to bury my dog because of it. Read Less

Unfortunately this office is very overpriced and they don't offer multi pet discounts. They also do not cut any break when you have financial issues and are on disability like myself and need some compassion and understanding. A friend recommended this place to me when I moved to the area, and I wish I discovered it sooner! The place is very welcoming and exceptionally clean, the staff is friendly, we didn't have to wait long for our apt. I was very happy with the treatment of my dog's hot spot. When I took my dog to my last vet for the same thing, they just gave her antibiotics and casted her leg. This place took a completely different approach by treating the hot spot as a allergy, my dog did not need to suffer with a cast, and within 2 days, she stopped licking and she feels better! Our vet, Thora Powers, was very knowledgeable and informative. All of the treatment plans and prices were discussed with us before they did anything.. I feel the prices are the same as all the other vets I've been to so they aren't cheap, but I truly trust this place with my babies' health. Read Less

Horrified from the time it we left until we got results, we got a call from the vet telling us that it was not a tumor but a bacterial infection. 1st time going to this place, and the last time. $270 lost and I am livid! However, the up-selling was insane and I wasn't told of the outrageous prices of the tests they suggested before they did them, I walked out of a normal kitten visit spending almost $200... Our Tinkerbell ( Boston Terrier-almost 11yrs.), is currently under Dr. Lezcano and the staff's care. The one-on-one personal care between the vet and our pet is tremendous. It was my first visit to a clinic with my new dog. When we first moved to West Broward, CBAH were one of the best-recommended vet practices in the area. A couple of years on and that has not changed. I find them to be a little expensive, but we really want only the best for our furry children. It's hard to compare the cost of veterinary care to human care because we never see the real costs of procedures in human healthcare. So even this may be a wash.One thing I find irksome is the up-selling of services when you're just worried about your pet.Overall, the numerous visits over time reveal a well-run operation, good communication, and a caring staff. i brought my cat here because he had tumors on his body and wasn't breathing well. they charged me an arm and a leg just for diagnostic tests that didn't result in anything of importance. then they quoted me $1000 to have the tumors removed surgically. i went for other opinions and ended up paying substantially less money for a much less invasive treatment. the other vet didn't ignore his asthma symptoms like this place did either. they only get more than one star because they were perfectly nice while trying to rip me off. I recently moved to the Plantation area 2 years ago. After trying different hospitals in the area, I was very glad I found Central Broward Animal Hospital to take care of my dog and cat especially when I am away. I am very impressed with their boarding facilities. I travel often and I am always greatful that they are able to fit my pets ,even with short notice. I particularly like that my pets get lots of individual attention and playtime as often as the staff can. The doctors and staff are excellent they always make sure my pets are all up to date and stay healthy! I have taken my animals to Central Broward Animal Hospital for many years. When having to make a decision to put a couple of my cats to sleep the doctors and nurses have been very compassionate. They send sympathy cards with the foot print of the animal that has passed with a note from the vet. The ladies that greet you when you come in are always friendly and have been there for a long time. To me that says the doctors are nice to work for since their is not a constant change of employees. I have never had a bad experience -- the doctors (especially Dr. Powers) are caring and knowledgeable and go out of their way to make sure their patients are well cared for and comfortable. I just returned from my first visit with my cat Jodi who has been sick for several days. I decided to go to this hospital after it was recommended to me by my neighbor and I checked out their website. It was fantastic. The vet was really kind and gentle with Jodie.
