Had them.try to sell me a contract based on false pretenses. I wanted a plan I could cancel at any time if necessary (and pay for my services) and that would not auto renew, which I was promised. I lost my best frend of 15 years in 12/17 so I addopted from the Broward County Humaine Society.I took advantage of the free $250 credit and initial office visit.It was agood thing!She has kennel cough and hook worms.They supplied 2 week dose of cough,antibiotis and hookworm medicine free.She has a follow up in two weeks,also no charge and a fecal re exam a week after that,free.They have over the $250 credit!In response to the bad review from the other addopter and being ignored I ask did they go to the counter upon arrival or just sit down!They were very attentive,Ifilled out my paperwork,went in 15 mins later.When I was done they answered all of my questions politely,instrucked me on the medication.They even sent me and CiCi a personalized welcome video!Come on who does that! Was not thrilled about the customer service at this location. I have been to the Oakland park location before and they were so attentive and professional, courteous. My dog was barking at the other dogs in the waiting room, freaking out and not one person offered to have us wait in a room so she would calm down, the Oakland park location offered this to me. I walked in and was practically ignored from all 3 women at the front, waiting like hello? - I had to wait for about 10 minutes until i was acknowledged. Unbelievable, very unprofessional, what a turn off. When i went to weigh my dog, the woman didnt even help, she didnt do her job in my opinion, every other vet i have gone to, they take the initiative to handle the dog as needed and do what they have to, she didnt help at all, neither did anyone else really during the visit. VERY HANDS-OFF. They took my paperwork and the lady spelled my name wrong, like didnt you read my paperwork?!?! Come on! So my rabies document and everything is with the incorrect name, this just shows the level of care. Yes, i just adopted my dog from the humane society, and yes i had the $250 free for certain things, maybe they treat us "free" customers like this only. Anyways, i didnt feel the comforting affection and care like i have experienced at other vets offices. With that being said, I do not recommend this location and i will not bring my pet back here ever again. Sorry VCA, but you and your staff were not very appealing to me. I am around professional businesses/ people daily, and your level of customer service here needs to be re-evaluated. The Vet was pretty nice, but still i did not get the "caring" vibe like i have in other offices. Not for me. To each their own, but when you experience good quality in this field, it sets certain standards, so when you experience poor quality you immediately notice the difference. I have been bringing my cat to this location for 12 years and 3 years for my dog. The doctors are excellent and honest. The doctors and the staff love animals and show that they care. The office is always very clean as well. Dr. Baumwell is extremely qualified, honest and someone you would want for your own doctor. The other doctors are just as trustworthy. I would never go to another office for my babies and highly recommend that you see for yourself. Read Less

We initially came here since we adopted our kitties from the humane society, our main veterinarian is Dr. Buela, but we also had the pleasure of being under Dr. Baumwell's care for a few days and both are beyond exceptional. We continue to return to this location due to their care, and their follow-up phone calls which are highly appreciated. I would recommend this VCA location to anyone seeking a new veterinarian. I'm not super thrilled. I brought my puppy here because we got her from the humane society and VCA offers a free rabies vaccination within ten days of adoption from the humane society. This location is closest to my house, so it's at least convenient. When I scheduled the appointment the woman on the phone asked for me to bring a stool sample, but told me that it would be fine if I didn't. I didn't because we were transitioning the puppy's food and so she was having some bowel issues. The front staff were pleasant enough, but I was overall turned off by my whole experience when compared with other vets I've been to. They gave me a sample cup to bring back a stool sample whenever I could, the vet said "because dogs from the humane society USUALLY have parasites or kennel cough." If that is the truth, then I don't understand why they couldn't just take a stool sample right there in the office. I didn't get the impression that they were super concerned about my dog's health, and just wanted to sell me something. They also tried to get me to subscribe to ComboGuard, which is just a rebranded Trifexis, which, after some research on the subject, has proven to be deadly to lots and lots of dogs. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location ever again. UPDATE: After writing this review, VCA apparently got it and gave me a call. I didn't answer it because I was at work, but in their voicemail they asked how my dog was and told me that they'd gotten this review and wanted to talk about it. I'd planned to call them back, but when I got home, I had to clean up some diarrhea that my dog had while I was gone for the day. So, I called VCA and, since I was more concerned about the health of my puppy than discussing the contents of this review, I asked if diarrhea a full 48 hours after a rabies vaccine was normal or if I should do something about it. Whoever answered the phone told me that they'd have the doctor call me back. I called at about 4:30, they close at 7, I did not hear from them. I didn't hear from them the next day either. Either the person who answered the phone never gave my message to whatever vet was supposed to call me, or they really don't care about the health of my dog more than their pride over some petty review. Either way, I would very strongly not recommend bringing your pet here. Read Less

Not all VCAs are the same...VCA Central Park Animal Hospital is one of the best I've been to. I recently moved, and I hate the fact that I'm no longer close to this location. This vet hospital is a true treasure. Their hours are wonderful and they saved my dog's life after a botched operation at another facility. I have followed Dr.Baumwell for over 20 years. He is what keeps me driving past a dozen other vet clinics to use his services in vet care exclusively. He has prolonged the quantity of time and quality of life for all my pets. I would not use any other vet. He also knows more about Vet care than a lot of the newer veterinarians. My family has been following Dr. Baumwell from his previous clinic and he has cared for our dogs for years. A kind and compassionate man, he has never steered us wrong. We have also boarded our golden retriever there on occasion and she seemed to like it very much. Not a country club for dogs but she was happy. Highly recommend him and his practice. Read Less
