Aside from a few mishaps with the receptionist, the staff is accomodating understanding and make you feel comfortable and welcome. Every person on staff shows genuine compassion for whatever issue you may come in with. My most recent visit was the worst for me. My aging cat (17) wasn't eating, vomiting, losing weight. After a visit and consultation with Dr. John Rand, we discussed the options. I made the ultimate decision and after a necropsy was performed, Joey was found to have gastrointestinal lymphoma. Every aspect of that final procedure was done with the utmost care and concern for both myself and Joey. It was a tough decision but the one that was totally necessary so Joey wouldn't suffer anymore. This is more than a vet service. It is a pet ministry! Read Less

I moved to Port Charlotte a year ago and was so fortunate to find The Animal Clinic. My dog Tina was 18 years old and losing ground. Dr. Nick Seibert was able to control her multiple issues with medications and discovered she was hypoglycemic. Under his care, Tina was rejuvenated! Her coat became thick and shiny, her joints became stronger and more flexible and once again, she began to play. My two cats also received first rate care and were found to be suffering from undiscovered maladies. They are back to health and enjoying life. Dr. Rand is the best vet I have ever used and I've used many as we have relocated 6 times in the last 10 years. He is knowledgeable and very caring. He has performed major surgery on one of my dogs which was performed with excellence and his after care is awesome. He always takes the time needed to explain things fully and I never feel rushed. I have also seen Dr Seibert but only once and he was also very knowledgeable and nice explaining the situation fully. The care my 5 dogs have received is well worth the 30 minute trip! Read Less

These guys are great! I was able to get in quickly when I discovered that I needed a health certificate for my cat for an out of state move. They treated both of us ( my cat and myself) in a friendly manner, and even helped out with getting my cat"s records sent from Alaska.Dr. Seibert was compassionate and explained why he recommended labs. Also medication instruction was thoroughly done in easy to understand language. Cost is reasonable, location and parking is easy to get in and out of. Can't recommend these people enough! Brought my sun conure in for an exam after a little mishap with him flying into a glass door. The vet handled my conure with both compassion and utmost professionalism and explained what he was going to do before he touched my bird and explained every step as he performed the rest of the exam. Was VERY thorough and made sure to take his time to really pay attention to my bird and not just rush through the 'motions' like most other vets I've been to. All in all, my conure checked out fine save for a small cut on his head - and the bill was very reasonable. WILL be going back for all future checkups! Read Less

I was very impressed with Dr Nick Seibert. I'm from TN and I brought my kitty in to check out an eye ulcer he had had which my vet said she didn't see anymore. I waited until I got down here to have it rechecked and picked the animal clinic. He ran test and not only did he have one it covered 2 3rds of his eye! He showed me a pic of the actual scan and explained treatment procedures, causes and spoke to me about him as if he were a human patient and not just a pet. He is very knowledgeable. We had to go thru several different types of treatments but he found the real cause and the ulcer is now (finally) gone. I'm glad I found him. He is awesome and I would highly recommend him. Dr. Rand is a caring, knowledgeable doctor, who loves animals and animals love him. He spends lots of time with me every time I have an appointment. My White Shepherd Cherokee always goes directly to see Dr. Rand when he comes in the room, which is something he has never done before. Our dogs, Kala and Teddy, have been seen by Dr. Marks and Dr. Rand since Dr. Marks returned to the Animal Clinic. They have always been treated with knowledge and compassion and we know the personal there truly love what they do. They do not do excessive testing, etc, but only what is necessary to determine a definitive diagnosis and provide appropriate treatment. Teddy was a Lhasa Apsa- mix who was adopted at age 8, he lived until age 16. Dr. Marks got us threw many issues including his serious dermatology and pancreatic issues. Kala is a 13 1/2 large Blond Labradoodle who was a therapy dog with Pet Partners from age 2 1/2 to age 10. She always been had fatty tissue issues and now has Soft Tissue Sarcoma. That diagnosis was made in January 2016 by Dr. Marks and she is still enjoying life as Dr. Rand watches over her. I doubt any vets could have been more gracious and helpful. Moved to Port Charlotte a year and a half ago, and have used The Animal Clinic all that time for our two dogs and two cats. One dog and one cat are elderly and have quite a few problems. This is the best vet I've ever been too. our kids have been cared for by Drs. Marks, Rand and Siebert. Plus the nursing and tech staff. All are caring and knowledgeable professionals. We are new to the area and I am pleased with choosing The Animal Clinic. Staff is friendly and very helpful. We were seen by Dr. Seibert, he did a complete exam and gave all needed vaccines. He was very informative and made sure he answered all of my questions. The tech with him explained all at-home things that needed to be taken care of and even went through how to navigate their online site for the animals at-home care. We can't say enough great things about all of the staff & care at The Animal Clinic. We've been taking our rescue, Rosie, there for years and always know that she's gotten the best care available. Dr. John & Dr. Deb are so caring and competent. All of the staff love their jobs and love animals. Rosie (age 14!) ate a plastic squeaker last week and Dr. John cleared his schedule and found it in her stomach. What could have been fatal was quickly dealt with and now Rosie's healing nicely. I had my first visit on 9/13/16, for my Torti cat, Lexi. The office staff carefully listened to my concerns and was able to schedule me that same day. The vet took his time during the thorough exam. Visited The Animal Clinic today for the first time and couldn't have been more pleased. Everyone was very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Moved to Florida in Jan. and just took a chance when picking this clinic to treat my dog Jacks allergies. I know for sure we made the right choice. Dr Rand and his assistant were wonderful , they not only made sure we were well informed of the issues with Jacks allergies and how to deal with them but also impressed me with their gentle and knowledgeable way of how to handle a hard to handle dog ( sorry Jack but you know its true ). I've been bringing my bunny's here for for about 7 yrs and have never had a bad experience except with Dr Fiore, but she is no longer there with them. Dr. Fiore was our veterinarian and she was extremely rude. My dog has high anxiety and she was completely unsympathetic. Her staff complained when they got urinated on while holding her down and forcing a muzzle on her. They charge ridiculous amounts of money and my dog was terrified to go there so I refused to bring her back. Definitely do not recommend. She acted as if she hated dogs and her job. Read Less

3 words... DOCTOR JOHN RAND. He was great he saved my dog from food allergies and itching. I was feeding a grain free food thinking that was the best for my dog and he took the time to educate me and let me know that those foods are a load of marketing bull. Pardon my french. He put him on a "hypoallergenic" diet and now my dog is happier than ever and not itching any more. Dr. John tells it like it is and I would pay for that any day. Read Less
