They are absolutely fantastic with all aspects of care. They are extremely compassionate when it is time to say good bye to your pet! They are quick to answer and quick with appointments. I am an OR/Trauma nurse, so I evaluate their medical treatments, and they are up to date on all,areas of animal care. Staff and doctors are rude and act like you have inconvenienced them by being there somehow. Took my pregnant dog in for an xray which they wouldn't do (wanted me to wait 12 more days) but then told me I was an idiot for saying I could see the puppies moving. The doctor there told me "It's not like a human baby swimming around in a giant bubble of water, puppies are to tightly packed to move at all". I'm not sure if vets go through human A&P classes in college but being the mother of 4 children and being educated, I can promise you that none of my kids were just swimming around in there. Switched vet offices, new doctor confirmed puppies movement (it's how they checked puppy stress back before there were machines btw) and delivered puppies 3 days after wasted appointment at Collingswood. Started seeing them when another Charlotte Cty vet almost killed my Dobie over 8 yrs ago. Ultimately she did have to be euthanized and they were amazing and kind. Since then I have brought 5 other dogs to Dr V and he has saved my pugs eye and has given me an extra 11 mos with my little Peekapoo when she collapsed in heart failure , not to mention been being there through through all the normal ups and downs of owning fur babies through the years. I went to the same vet for 27 yrs before moving here and I went through 4 vets before finding him. Would not go think of going anywhere else's he understands these guys are just like children to us. Love Dr. Barnes but Kim is very demeaning and rude. I overheard a conversation where she states, "I love talking down to people." I called back to inform the office manager but discovered she IS the office manager. She argued with me about what I clearly heard and hung up on me. Long story but my dog ingested something late yesterday afternoon. Being a puppy of eight months, we were all alarmed when she threw up and there saw a large shard of bone. She got worse as the day went on and so we took her to the after hours pet care. They determined she had a blockage but didn't know whether it would need surgery or not since nothing could be seen on the X-Ray. We forwarded this info. and called as soon as they opened. Their surgeon was not going to make rounds there until 11:00 am and they also had trouble with my sister making payment from New York, requiring special forms, etc. Though this isn't a bad place, they are not the place to call in a situation like mine. I had been up with her all night, wondering if she was going to survive and I am praying right now that she can. These people weren't able to get me the fast help we needed so I will be going to Charlotte Animal Hospital in the future for any kind of emergency situations. I could tell they cared when I called and they gave me no hassle about payment. Read Less

Beware of this place. They will order hundreds of dollars of test without an exam of your pet. I paid my bill in full. I ordered a liquid antibiotic the next day instead of the pill form they gave me for a maincoon cat.I went to pick it up the next day and asked the office manager Kim Peeler to bill me she said no. Remember I paid my bill in full I've only been there once I told her my cats still sick. She said "your stealing" and followed me out to the car and wouldnt let me drive off. I can't say enough about Dr. Barnes, he came to our home and put our beautiful Dobie girl Jade to rest. We moved down from NY 2 years ago and I took one of my Dobe's to them, Dr. Barnes is who we saw and he just handle them with such gentleness and kindness. He really listen to you. Jade was put to rest so peacefully, she knew Dr. Barnes and total trust. At the end he brought in what they call an angel bag to put her in, paw print with wings. The staff is the best. This vet group have taken stellar care of my two Shiba Inus. My introduction to the group was after my oldest dog was attacked by another dog while she was still a pup. They gave her the best possible care, she's comfortable there, and the cost was reasonable. The staff is great with my girls and listens to what we have to say. This office is absolutely wonderful and I wouldn't dream of taking my girls anywhere else. I love this vet! We have a dog, 3 cats, several parrots, an iguana and a pig That has been seen by Dr. Villarreal. The staff is always friendly and treats our babies like family. The office is beautiful and very clean. The prices are very reasonable. We have a cat with a heart murmur and the Dr. did one test at a time to keep the cost down by not running any unnecessary testing. Which is a big deal to me because I have to keep cost down since I have so many babies. Dr. Villarreal always takes the time to answer all my questions and jokes around with us. Brought my dog in for what I suspected was a hematoma. The Dr Adrianna Ribas assured me it was nothing. 4 weeks later my dog has developed a huge hematoma in the same spot I brought her in for earlier! I expressed my disappointment in them sending me away the last time I was there & now they want to charge me $700 to fix what should have been taken care of the first time before it got out of control. Then Dr. Alexander Villarreal was completely rude & disrespectful to me. Saying that's not what we brought her in for last time (THAT WAS THE ONLY REASON WE BROUGHT HER IN!) Asking if I was a vet & just being a complete jerk to me because of their mistake. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN & HOPE YOU HEED MY WARNING! Myself, husband, mother and 5 dogs moved here from Clearwater, Florida at the beginning of this year. I had the same vet for over 35 years and finding a new veterinarian clinic was the most stressful. I liked the outward appearance of the facility and the extremely accomodating, friendly staff. I received excellent care by Dr. Barnes, his incredibly efficient and well trained vet techs, along with the people working the front desk.In my opinion the pricing is excellent and extremely reasonable. My dogs were updated with vaccines and one needed a dental with an extraction. I was truly happy the way my dog was taken care of while at the clinic and the follow up phone call to check on his progress once he was home.I feel I have found the vet clinic I was so desperately hoping to find! It's a clean facility but they are expensive. For boarding they require alot of shots and the nightly charge is high. Nevertheless, We took our dogs there for about 3 years, until our recent issue. We boarded the dogs for 8 days and they both came back with bordatella or something just as bad. (even though vaccinated) We brought them back and the vet wasn't willing to actually test for bordatella but instead wanted us to pay $43 for antibiotics to treat bordatella. HUH? To me, they should have just absorbed the $43, kept the customer and moved on. They REFUSED! Keep in mind their cost is probably $20. To lose a customer that has paid you over $1500 over $20 is just bad service. Bye bye Collingswood. Remember, friendly smiles doesn't always mean friendly service. Read Less

Dr. Villarreal and his staff are the most compassionate group of people. They truly love their job and their patients. (Some human doctors should take lessons from them!!!). When you go to their office, they are happy to see you and your pet. Our "babies" have no problem going to see the Dr.! They are actually happy to go.
