If it's an absolute emergency but you're able to go elsewhere, go elsewhere. What an awful experience for our family. The office is cut throat and cares more about money than their patients. We were requested to come back several times and charged us for something new each time. The last appointment, they performed a procedure without our permission and refused to undo what they did without our consent, leaving our baby in a worse condition than we brought him in. The new cost would be 1200 or (here's the most hurtful part) we could give them our dog and walk away..."give him to a family who can take care of him". Really? Is that how you conduct business? If you love your animal take them here, because they are compassionate and really cared about or fur baby Sheba when she was sick and then just yesterday we had to put our fur baby down because she was 13 years old and tired wasn’t eating and having a hard time breathing. I can't thank the staff here enough for saving my cat's life. I was pretty frantic and they handled that very calmly and professionally. They took my cat immediately, he was almost unresponsive and in critical condition. The place is pretty expensive but Since it was an emergency I already expected a big Bill so I wasnt surprised. The bottom line is they saved my cat's life and answered all of our questions and told us we could call anytime to check on him and get updates. Very happy with my experience. Terrible place. Friend found elderly small dog. Dog was blind, couldn't even keep water down or walk. Absolutely amazing! Called because I was concerned my dog had a tick. Turns out she just had an inflammed exrra nipple. They were very patient over the phone and in person. The staff was friendly and brought my dog right to the room. There was a wait but I completely understand we weren't an emergency. I wouldn't even give this place one star if I had a choice. We took our dog there, bc she got very sick. The said they was going to give her a second blood transfusion but never did. She was quarantined the whole time for something that's not contagious. And sent her home with a medicine for skin issues. My baby had an immune issue, not skin. We rushed to your office because our puppys face was swelling up and covering in sores that would swell up and bursting. We waited in the lobby for 30 minutes before the girl at the counter took her back and said it was an allergic reaction and gave her a steroid shot, she said the steroid shot did not help so they were going to try another strength steroid shot. 2 hours later we got our puppy back still with sores popping up. The tech said she's never seen an allergic reaction happen like that, no one thought to run additional tests, 2 hours, hundreds of dollars later and she was never seen by an actual vet, was misdiagnosed by the tech that was working the counter. We took her to a real vet the next day who diagnosed her with puppy strangles and treated her with proper treatment that healed our little girl. We would have spent an unlimited amount of money and time at this office if it meant actually spending the time and the tests to properly diagnose and cure our puppy. Maybe more education is needed for staff, if something doesn't look like anything you've ever seen before, than you probably should run more tests. My puppy is a baby to me, part of my family that means the world to me and I would never trust her in the hands of anyone in your office again. Read Less

Our 9 year old cat began vomiting food and water. Our regular Vet is closed on Saturdays (note to self, change Vets). We were referred to Animal Emergency of Pasco and were seen by Dr. Nichols. She and her assistent were wonderful, compasionate people who took the time to examine Mr. Thomas, explain what appeared to be going on, recommended a course of treatment and said multiple times, come back within 24 hours if we see no improvement. Office visits within 24 hours of the first visit are at No Charge for the Vet fee. Before care was rendered the Doctor explained the cost (which were most reasonable) and asked for our approval to proceed (no brainer here, go ahead). There is a rotation of Veterinarians through the clinic, but this is our second trip for our cat to this clinic, first visit was two years ago and it too was a positive experience. Read Less

We just left Dr Barry. He spent as much time as we needed and answered all of our questions. He waited until we were ready to put her down. We walked in knowing but he verified that was what was best. He explained everything down to her last moments. He didn't charge us out the back end. He was so nice and compassionate through the whole thing. The staff was wonderful and just as kind. They did as we asked and took out her iv before letting us go home. This place is a joke! They are scam artists that contradict themselves and just want to try to get as much money out of you as possible! I wouldn't put it past them if I brought in a dead animal or better yet a stuffed animal and they recommended blood work. They leach off and take advantage of people who are desperate for the welfare of their animals. They use the fact that they are open 24 hours as their selling point with no interest in genuinely caring for and properly treating and diagnosing animals. There was blood all over the main lobby floor and the waiting room floor. Simply unacceptable and disgusting and I wish I could have gotten my money back for the "exam" which included waiting for 2 hours to get my dog weighed and his temperature taken. Read Less

We had been out fishing 40 or miles offshore and our lil dog Dozer got his lip caught on a lure with 2 trouble hooks on it .We were able to cut the hooks that he wasn't attached to but 1 was pretty in there. . We had an emergency last night where our 13 year old jack russell got ahold of a bufo frog. Dr. Green was great explaining everything to us and calling in twice overnight, I was given updates on him. He was seen and treated promptly and we will definitely go there again. Unless you are made of money, I don't recommend bringing your pets here. For one, they want you to pay up front for everything that has to be done. Two, some of them have 0 compassion. For example, I took my dog up there monday because she got bit by a snake. We had already paid over $200 and they wanted another minimum of $164 for a private cremation. At the time we only had $155. A whole whopping $10 short. So the lady there that night said "sorry but this is a business ". Im sorry but I don't give a damn about it being a business. We had to put our beloved puppy down because we couldn't afford to pay an almost $3000 bill upfront! Thirdly, they do not know how to properly communicate with one another. I had to call several times the last 3 days and several times in one night because they couldn't get the pricing right on the urn we had chosen. Overall this place sucks! My daughter and I brought in a little stray kitten that was very sick, in critical condition. They were very kind to us and didn't make us feel like villains when we decided it would cost too much to treat an animal that wasn't even ours. I will never bring any of my animals here ever again. My poor puppy had a side effect to heartgard and caused a toxicity reaction. My vet was closing and transfered us to them. They knew what was going on the care he would need to make a full recovery. I got there after 7pm tuesday April 5. His body was in paralysis and muscle tremors.They took him to the back, where he then had a seizure. They did a charcoal and iv fluid on him. However they knew he need intra lipid therapy to push the toxins out so it would not cause damage. I was told he was in good hands and safe. I got there at 7 am April 6th to pick him up and bring back to my vet to be monitored and was enraged on his condition. Not one phone call in 12 hours. The lady brought him out to me and he know had lock jaw and drooling and was whining in pain. I asked why he was worse. Athe lady stated well we dont have the lipid therapy he needs, its on back order. Your vet can call around to find it for him. There was no way for us to go and get it for him. My 8 year old daughter was with me. I asked her why didnt anyone call me I could have taken him to another facilty that had. I also reminded her that she jnew we were coming there by our vet transferring us and implied they could help him. They simply just wanted money. No care for my babys health. Luckily my vet found the lipid he needed and west hernando donated it to him. St francis vet drove to pick it up and got it in him as soon as they could. He has rebound but we may be looking at neurological issues down the road since he is a puppy due him not getting the therapy right away.
