I wanted to share a negative experience I had today involving Kindness Animal Hospital on Port Saint Lucie Blv. My dog was set up for a neuter appointment. I paid $150 for the pre exam and my bill for the surgery was looking at $650-$750. Prior to the appointment I confirmed it verbally twice and once via email and today I dropped my dog off at 7:30am like I am supposed to. An hour later I get a phone call telling me to come right now to get my dog and my appointment needs to be rescheduled. I ask why and I’m told it’s because the doctor is “so sick”. As a working professional I understand why the vet’s office calls to confirm appointments, emails to confirm appointments and calls again to reconfirm said appointments because they don’t want their time wasted. So you can imagine my shock and surprise that if said doctor was so sick that they couldn’t have picked up the phone and called their office prior to 7:30AM to let those dropping off their pets for surgery know what could potentially happen or better yet told their staff to let customers know the doctor wasn’t able to come in at all. At least if canceled as I was dropping my dog off I could understand that Kindness Animal Hospital respected my time because I do get that some circumstances happen that would have allowed me to make changes to my day to adjust. However, if I am going to be asked to pay over $700 plus for a neuter surgery, canceled after my pet is dropped off over an hour later and told I have to pick my dog up right now while I am working this, this just shows a strong lack of professionalism, piss poor customer service and a lack of respect for my time. I wouldn’t recommend this place to any working professional based on this experience. The purpose of my posting here is to let other working people know that in this instance, my time wasn’t respected and if you’re trying to balance, your pet, job and other obligations this can happen to you. Been going there for years, we have had as many as 4 dogs so we visit often. They are the kindest most professional Vets office we have ever been to. More then once we had to put a dog down & their compassion is incredible, I've seen more then one of the staff cry with us. When we first moved to PSL we tried 2 other Vets & one had prices that were a joke & the other tried selling u all he could. Always busy, but don't expect a wait. On time appointments are important to me since my girl (dog) is never to happy to be there, but who's pet is? It is evident the carring doctors and staff are sensitive to the pets needs. There are a wide variety of foods, treats, shampoos and prescriptions available. Parking lot has just been inlarged over twice as much, so there is plenty now. Make your appointment for your pets now. First and may be last visit, on the whole their prices and attention is fair. It was my first visit and all I really needed was a rabies inoculation for my German Shepherd. Their website states no appointment necessary NOT the case so I went ahead and made an appointment for today. As it was my first time the receptionist told me that I needed to see the doctor not a problem ($51.00) then I requested the 3 year vaccination ($36.50) and was Quoted $87,50 everything went well but When I was handed the paperwork it only stated 1 year so I complained that I had ordered 3 year and apologize and said they can give him the 3 year but would have to pay for both. SINCE WHEN DOES THEIR MISTAKE BECOME MY RESPONSIBILITY WHEN (103.60) I WAS ORIGINALLY QUOTED $87.50. They refused to take it off so I guess you need a written quote or make it PERFECTLY clear what service you are requesting. Read Less

My son and I brought our 16 year old beloved friend because he was very ill. I think I may have been the last appointment there on Saturday and they took their time with my pet. They explained all our options and did not steer or rush us to make a decision. It was a very tough decision and the staff consoled my son as he cried in the lobby. The staff has been amazing, kind and friendly. We had a sick kitty and they got her in the same morning even though we were new to the practice. When she tested positive for feline leukemia they were fast and efficient getting our other cats in to be checked and vaccinated. Absolutely love the front desk staff who greet you as you come through the door and helped me carry in the pet carriers. I think the people who left negative reviews must have fallen into an alternate universe because we've had nothing but positive interaction across multiple visits now. Read Less

I found a home for a puppy and promised the new owners that I would get the puppy shots and I took the puppy here and my sister also brought her cat here to have him laid to rest and they are some of the most compassionate and nicest people I have ever met in Veterinary medicine Read Less

This has to be the WORST animal hospital I have ever encountered. We have lived in different areas of the US due to my husband's job and have been affiliated with different vets throughout our years of having animals. This vet CLEARLY cannot handle any animal that is over 30 lbs. The staff is so rude that even the customers that are waiting to have their animals seen comment on this every time I've been in there. Had 3 previous vets before coming to Kindness........definitely the best! If you have older dogs (I have 2), you know how expensive their care can become. Came in and got my newborn pup taken care of and seen within 10 minutes WITHOUT an appointment. Got a thorough checkup and given the medication to combat the worms with a demonstration of how to properly administer the medicine. Very friendly and informative staff. Also signed up for a reward card program (cost $85 but this first appointment was free) that grants two free appointments and a free nail trimming. Included is 5% cash back on every purchase. I brought my cat Mr.J and today and I have never been so happy with an experience at a vet. 1. They were able to squeeze me in and get me an appointment immediately which I greatly appreciated. 2. All of the staff there were incredibly friendly and seem to really enjoy their jobs. 3. The doctor spent a lot of time with me and my cat which I don't always feel is the case at most other vets. She answered all of my questions and I felt very comfortable. 4. I got an incredibly detailed report on my visit and what we discussed. I was so impressed with the report because it showed that she really listened to everything I said and truly wanted to make sure I had all the knowledge to keep my cat and my other animals healthy. 5. The doctor also let me know about other procedures my cat would need but didn't do so in a pushy manner which I have experienced before. I've been through so many different vets here in Port Saint Lucie the past 15 years and not one place has cared and showed so much love for each animal like they do at Kindness. They do so much for the animals they're helping and really work with you as much as they can money wise. I brought my bunny there for fur mites and after his scrapping test he was brought back to me and the tech asked if we heard him screaming. We didnt until she tried to put him back in the box and he jumped out and starting screaming! We went home and were told we couldnt handle him for a day. So after a day I took him out and noticed his leg wasnt right. Called the vet the next business day and brought him in for an xray and his leg was broken! His tib/fib. Was treated horribly and some of the staff was very rude and said it didnt happen there. That he was fine when he left, which she didnt even see him again. So the vet told me to call a different vet bc there is nothing they can do and sent me on our way with another bill we had to pay and not even any meds to make him comfortable! I would NOT recommend them to ANYONE!!! Unless you want more problems, more vet bills, and to have the vet be completely rude to you!!Read Less

Used their services for about 2 years. First time I got good service (annual visit), second visit my dog was sick and they took ok care of him. Second annual visit was pricey and I was not impressed. Last time got one price over the phone (thought I learned my lesson on the second visit) and after service the price was almost the double of the estimate on the phone. Not returning! Read Less
