I love the staff here. They were very sweet and patient with me when I lost my sweet kitty. She wast even a patient there, and I had taken her to an er vet but as soon as they opened they had her transferred and took over everything and saved me a ton of money. This was my first time brought my dog in because he has a rash on his under belly. The staff was very friendly to both of us they took time to ask many questions before coming up with a treatment plan. My dog enjoyed his visit seem like every couple of minutes he was getting a treat. They gave him medication and total cost was less than $65.00 . Will now be using this office for my dog needs . Friendly staff but extremely overpriced. Very nice folks here and some very specialized services but the rates were double that of my previous vets and the vet we now found. My 12 year old dog was chewing funny so we asked to get his teeth cleaned and evaluated. They would not without insisting on extensive blood work and chest X-rays ??? 108.00 just to read the X-rays ??? I am sure they are highly qualified but for simple procedures very over priced. Brought both ours dogs here for shots, they were nice but seems like there more concerned about money then actual care of my animals. I informed them I did not want my dog to have the Lepto vaccine and they gave it to my dog anyways and what do u know he had a allergic reaction, the same evening I had to spend even more money taking him to a actual animal hospital that was open 24hr. So disappointed with these people. My dog needs insulin. I called early this morning. They promised to get back to me today.  Shows how much they care about my dog.  They called to tell me they didn't have any at the moment so I asked them to write me a prescription and I would take it to the drug store. For all the animal lovers out there who love their pets , if any one goes to this vet hospital be advised that if you do no have the funds or good credit your pet will NOT receive any medical treatment , even if you pet is very sick and close to death . Understanding that they have to be payed for their services , they will not make any attempt to help us with any payment arrangements , knowing that OUR BELOVED dog was extremely ill and close to death , and needed to be hospitalized . We find it EXTREMELY disturbing that their lack of compassion and professionalism , leading us to realize that they were more concerned about THEIR finical gain , in resulting that OUR dog suffered in pain , after many attempts to pleaded and begged for help to try and save OUR dog that he did in deed PASS AWAY an untimely death due to their greed and selfishness . Dr.Carlos knows what he is talking about. I recently brought on a very sick kitty and he knew exactly what to do. He was very mindful about budget and had the cat's best interest in mind. Last Wednesday was a terrible day for our family. We found ourselves in need of emergency help and by some random stoke of luck, happened across PVAH. Eventually we made the hardest decision we've ever made and our beloved cat, Bob, passed away peacefully in my arms. As awful as that day was, the staff at PVAH were SO good to us. EVERY SINGLE PERSON on staff that evening was unbelievably kind, supportive and compassionate to us. I was so impressed that I mailed them a letter thanking them for their expert care. Coincidentally, today I received a letter from them. It was personally signed by all the staff that worked with us that evening- and included a laminated poem with Bob's little paw print stamped on it. I have never had a bad experience here. I found PVAH through the Feline Friendly Practices website and I can see clearly that they earned their rating! They have helped me with regular visits for my kitties and very recently, Dr. Petroff handled a major emergency and saved my cat's life! While he was under their watch, they called and communicated with me every step of the way, and we have a plan to avoid this kind of emergency in the future. First of all, I'm a cat, so writing about a vet being good is, well, not easy. But, Doc McClure is a really good vet and I like her a lot....until she takes my temperature. Then she's not so cool anymore. She takes really good care of me, and Olly, the little grey furball, and Emmy, the Persian Mom brought home from the shelter. Yeah, she's a good vet. I'm 17 and I have a little arthritis now. Doc McClure makes it more manageable. She tests me regularly to make sure I'm okay. I'm not real fond of the needle, but as long as she doesn't take my temperature anymore it's okay. I don't hiss at her either. Read Less

PVAH is a great animal hospital, especially since Dr. Susan McClure joined you. She's been our vet for years, and has gone over and above the norm to care for our four Scottish Folds, collectively known as the Scottish mafia. She provided the most compassionate and skilled care to our two elderly Folds, Liam & Fiona, who have since passed. Now Fibber Magee is elderly, and she shows the same compassion and gives expert care to him now. She's the one of the rare veterinarians who I feel 100% trust in, and who my cats don't hiss at. Dr. Petroff is very knowledgeable, very sweet and she prioritized my pet's health needs. Being that he's almost 15 years old, he really needed the detailed attention Dr. Petroff gave him. I am also impressed with the office being a "Cat-Friendly Clinic". They had diffusers in the exam room that are calming to cats. They also had a nice fluffy mat on the exam table that had been sprayed with a calming solution. My kitty was very comfortable there. They gave him catnip and cat treats and made it a stress-free experience. The front desk staff and the vet tech were all extremely nice. I must take a moment to praise prima vista animal hospital! I have been coming here a year now. My 4 year old beagle is sick... He is the mystery diagnosis. After a month of testing we still have no answer, but it is not from lack of trying on Dr. Hedges part. This woman is a complete gem!!! she has gone above and beyond any expectation I have ever had of a vet! She's a true angel! she has made me feel like I am family! I love this Animal Hospital. We have only been in PSL for 6 1/2 years and have been through several Veterinarians and several groomers as well. Finally, I feel that we have found a place for our sweet fur babies needs. My deaf dog, Frankie seems to really like Lisa and that is so important of us. Seriously? I must have seen the wrong veterinarian because my pet and I were treated like a revenue stream. I felt zero compassion other than from the techs and 2 of the front office staff. I would search far and wide and find out which vet is taking care of your pet before going here. I think if you research enough you can determine which veterinarian has the most positive reviews at this location. I would run from the other , namely Petroff. Do you really want to depend on a vet that you call at 8:30 am to get a refill of pain medication for your dog and they finally get back after the office closes and tell you to pick it up at 4pm the next day after you watch your dog suffer because they're too selfish to wait 10 minutes for you to pick up the meds? Think about it! Does that sound like a vet that cares? Stay away from this place unless they rid themselves of the uncaring people.Read Less

We just rescued a 90lb pitbull mix from the humane society in January and needed to find a new permanent doctor for Brick.. We made an appointment to have a meet & greet with the Vet and when we got there we were greeted and within minutes taken into the exam room. Shannon came in and got some info before Dr Hedges actually came in to see us. Both are very knowledgeable and clearly have a passion for animals. Dr Hedges got right on the ground and gave Brick lots of attention and love, and Shannon helped clean his ears spotless in just a few short minutes.. Thank you ladies for being so good to him! Dr. Hedges is a wonderful vet. Her compassion and knowledge and the way she treats my pets as if they were her own are the reason I bring my animals to her when they aren't feeling well. When my 14 year old German Shepherd starting having mobility problems in his back legs I thought I was going to have to put him to sleep. Dr. Hedges diagnosed the issue, prescribed the exact medication he needed and he is getting around so much better now. I love this Animal Hospital!  The people who work there really show their love of the animals. They call back when they say they will, They fit me in if there is an emergency. They give explanations when needed. They treat my dogs AND me with respect.  They have worked with three of my miniature schnauzers and several of my "foster" dogs! They treat my foster dogs just as though they were my own. I had to board one of my dogs there a couple times, and it felt like she got special treatment! I rescued a Pit Bull from the Humane Society last month and brought him here so he could get started on his heartworm treatment. First time I have ever been here and the staff is AMAZING. On my way to my appointment I got a flat tire and I was going crazy and the staff was extremely helpful to me. While I was waiting for a tow truck after my dog's appointment the woman at the counter gave my him treats and a bowl of water! Love this place. Read Less
