To be clear: i do not care how sweet or not sweet people who work there are. I only care for how they handle animals and care for their patients.
Have been going there with my kitties for several years (vaccinations and checkups). One of my cats is prone to UTI and is on diet. Recently he got infection once again and was in pain peeing outside of litter box. I asked their office for an appointment ASAP on Monday (UTI can be fatal for male cats if they get clogged) and all they could do for me was Thursday or Friday. She would not let me talk to the vet nor would ask him what to do.
Obviously they do not care about their furry patients.

Omg! Everyone working there is super sweet and care about every animal that walks in. They treated my two little dogs so well and the vet sat and took the time to explain everything in complete detail...
Omg! Everyone working there is super sweet and care about every animal that walks in. They treated my two little dogs so well and the vet sat and took the time to explain everything in complete detail for me. She was genuinely concerned about my dogs weight and the other dogs dry skin and she even checked up on them the day after she gave them a new shampoo and dog food! I’ve never had a vet (and vet techs) that took their time. My dogs weren’t just an extra dollar in their pockets. They were fur babies to them just like they’re my fur babies.

Love this vet! A few years ago we used The Animal Health Center for a second opinion for our English Bulldog. They gave us a appointment the same day. We were lucky enough to see Dr. Erick Funcky. He gave our boy a fiscal exam (something I have never seen at our regular vet) he looked at every single inch of our dog. He immediately knew our dog was in distress and recommended we go to the emergency room. When we arrived at the emergency room they already had all our information and took him to start treating him. Dr Erick Funcky saved our boy! He explains everything. Answers any questions. Works with our schedule. I will never go back to our old vet. We highly recommend this facility.

Absolutely wonderful care for my fur baby. Ren, my 2 year old German short hair pointer, is not a fan of vets which can make him a difficult patient but Ashley and Dr. Hall were incredible with him. Very patient and kind but still got done the care he needed. Great office and location and Hope at the front desk was very helpful. Definitely making this our new home for any animal care.

I adopted an older cat of about 12 or 13 in April of this year. The cat had outlived her owner and needed a forever home. I waited about a month and a half before taking her for a physical as I didn't want her to be too stressed out. Being taken out of the home she knew for so long was a hard adjustment for her at first. I chose Animal Health Center of Port St. Lucie for two reasons: location to my home and the great reviews that I read online. This was the right veterinary office for us. The staff ladies are friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient. Dr. Erick Funcke was so kind and gentle with my sweet little girl. He explained his findings in the exam and took the time to answer all of my questions. This is a great veterinary hospital and I highly recommend this doctor to anyone who wants gentle loving care for their pet!

This past Saturday, my 14 year old Golden Retriever "Savannah" was at the groomers...It normally takes 3 hours to groom her. After an hour I received a call stating they could not complete the grooming because my baby was in distress....I went to get her...She was laying on the floor, panting heavily, tongue hanging out and she had lost control of her bowels. I knew the day was coming and I knew it was time to say goodbye....I called my regular Vet which is on Prima Vista in PSL.... I was told they could not euthanize her because they were booked for the remainder of the day..I asked if the vet could do it after hours, I was told there is only one vet and he had to leave at 2:00 but they could get me in Monday. I was beside myself....My Groomer's wife works at Animal Health Center. They agreed to Euthanize my baby. They were so kind and sympathetic. They treated Savannah with dignity. Dr. Erik came in, examined her and said yes it was time. It took 5 minutes to put my girl down. Not only was Savannah treated with respect but so was I. For such a sad event, I must say I was very impressed with this Veterinary Clinic.... Needless to say, I went to my previous Vet and demanded the medical records for my other dog......One thing I will say, the Euthanasia and Cremation ( Individual) was about $100.00 more that my previous Vet had quoted me..... I still have no regrets....

If you're placed on hold with this place, you're history. In the last several weeks I've been placed on hold 4 times. First time for 20 minutes before I hung up, 2nd time 10 minutes. Third and fourth time today. I'm seeking to find out test results today, taken 2 days ago without results. I understand it gets busy, but have a plan....don't disrespect clients like that. My wife called several months back, was placed on hold, and the office staff went home while she remained on the line without notice. Tell me there's not a problem in this area!! I'm now into $1,000 for tests without a conclusion as to what might be wrong. I'm forfeiting my own healthcare in lieu of my dog's. Whether they are piling on or not I can't say. What I can say is that on $11.00 an hour, this can't continue. I'll be asking for my dog's records and moving on. A very unpleasant experience.

If you want to get GREAT, QUALITY care, come here and see Dr. Erick! I have four dogs, My mother has 3 dogs and 2 cats. I will never see another Vet again. The prices are just fine, because there is no price limit on care and quality when it comes to MY PETS! What I admire most about Dr. E is that he is honest and won't beat around the bush. He has never ever put myself or my mom in a position where we had to spend more than we needed to for our pets. I will spend a Saturday afternoon, bringing all four of my dogs here just to get their nails cut! The entire staff here treats us like family! They come out and embrace our animals and make them feel comfortable because 2 of them are very nervous.
The Mele Family LOVES Dr. Erick and the staff at Animal Health Center of PSL. We will always follow him where he goes! Thank you to the staff for always helping us with our fur babies. It is an amazing feeling to have people you trust care for your animals.

Ridiculous vet who is either highly uneducated or is a complete scammer.
So I am from psl but recently moved to Texas. I brought my German Shepard down for the holidays (a road trip I have made with her 3 times already). Due to my husband and other dog being in the car she was extremely stressed for the 23+ hr drive. So I call to make an appointment to get some sedatives for her ride back so she's more comfortable.
Let me also note I am not a fan of giving dogs meds (especially sedatives) unless absolutely essential. And a 80lb dog trying to climb on my lap on a highway for 25 hours was an acceptable reason.
So I had all her records and papers and they were able to see me so she could get her meds.
Let me also preface this with the fact that I work with dogs (grooming and training) and also have multiple degrees in zoology. I however, do no mention this at new vets offices since I understand the frustration of dog owners acting like they know better, when vets are trying to do their job.
As the vet is examining my dogs he informs me of my dogs bald spots on her front legs (about 3, 1inch spots). I let him know that she bites herself when she's anxious and as soon as she is back in Texas they will clear up. It's her nervous behavior, which is very common.
He tells me to get that looked out because it could be mange............ strike 1.
He then notices her ears where red and had scratch marks. I inform him that she has very itchy skin (she's been tested for everything under the sun and has a strict diet and Benadryl to help) and my parents have lots of plants that produce a lot of pollen (and since she has dumbo ears that catch everything) and she has been scratching them. He then says, and I quote, " I see dogs every day and I have never seen a dog get red ears from allergies. It is an infection. But not inside the ears. It could be mange"
So I basically zone out as he's talking because I am annoyed and he slaps us with a $100+ bill. So I just leave at this point.
So long story short, this vet is either very uneducated or a scammer. Unless it's an absolute emergency, please do not take your pet here or get a second opinion before treating.

I took my sick cat here and described his symptoms as lethargic, not eating, and not drinking. The vet acted like he didn't believe me when I told him the cat was sick. He then examined the cat who started growling (which he does when he doesn't want to be prodded) and determined it was some kind of spine injury. This ended up not being the case as my other cat developed the same symptoms and when I took her to a different vet they determined it was some kind of toxin or venom (spider or snake). The vet's "bedside manner" is terrible I don't feel comfortable bringing my animals here and will never use this vet again.

I have been bringing my animals to this clinic for quite awhile now and absolutely love them. Hands down the best clinic on the treasure coast. The staff are friendly, and always willing to go above and beyond to make sure you and your pet are taken care of. The owner and vets are always willing to take their time to talk to clients about concerns or questions. I would not trust my fur babies with anyone else, they are quick in rendering amazing care... And I would highly recommend them to anyone in the area. Love this staff and clinic!

They treated my two little dogs so well and the vet sat and took the time to explain everything in complete detail for me. She was genuinely concerned about my dogs weight and the other dogs dry skin and she even checked up on them the day after she gave them a new shampoo and dog food! I’ve never had a vet (and vet techs) that took their time. My dogs weren’t just an extra dollar in their pockets. They were fur babies to them just like they’re my fur babies.

Love this vet! A few years ago we used The Animal Health Center for a second opinion for our English Bulldog. They gave us a appointment the same day. We were lucky enough to see Dr. Erick Funcky. He gave our boy a fiscal exam (something I have never seen at our regular vet) he looked at every single inch of our dog. He immediately knew our dog was in distress and recommended we go to the emergency room. When we arrived at the emergency room they already had all our information and took him to start treating him. Dr Erick Funcky saved our boy! He explains everything. Answers any questions. Works with our schedule. I will never go back to our old vet. We highly recommend this facility.

Absolutely wonderful care for my fur baby. Ren, my 2 year old German short hair pointer, is not a fan of vets which can make him a difficult patient but Ashley and Dr. Hall were incredible with him. Very patient and kind but still got done the care he needed. Great office and location and Hope at the front desk was very helpful. Definitely making this our new home for any animal care.

I adopted an older cat of about 12 or 13 in April of this year. The cat had outlived her owner and needed a forever home. I waited about a month and a half before taking her for a physical as I didn't want her to be too stressed out. Being taken out of the home she knew for so long was a hard adjustment for her at first. I chose Animal Health Center of Port St. Lucie for two reasons: location to my home and the great reviews that I read online. This was the right veterinary office for us. The staff ladies are friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient. Dr. Erick Funcke was so kind and gentle with my sweet little girl. He explained his findings in the exam and took the time to answer all of my questions. This is a great veterinary hospital and I highly recommend this doctor to anyone who wants gentle loving care for their pet!

This past Saturday, my 14 year old Golden Retriever "Savannah" was at the groomers...It normally takes 3 hours to groom her. After an hour I received a call stating they could not complete the grooming because my baby was in distress....I went to get her...She was laying on the floor, panting heavily, tongue hanging out and she had lost control of her bowels. I knew the day was coming and I knew it was time to say goodbye....I called my regular Vet which is on Prima Vista in PSL.... I was told they could not euthanize her because they were booked for the remainder of the day..I asked if the vet could do it after hours, I was told there is only one vet and he had to leave at 2:00 but they could get me in Monday. I was beside myself....My Groomer's wife works at Animal Health Center. They agreed to Euthanize my baby. They were so kind and sympathetic. They treated Savannah with dignity. Dr. Erik came in, examined her and said yes it was time. It took 5 minutes to put my girl down. Not only was Savannah treated with respect but so was I. For such a sad event, I must say I was very impressed with this Veterinary Clinic.... Needless to say, I went to my previous Vet and demanded the medical records for my other dog......One thing I will say, the Euthanasia and Cremation ( Individual) was about $100.00 more that my previous Vet had quoted me..... I still have no regrets....

If you're placed on hold with this place, you're history. In the last several weeks I've been placed on hold 4 times. First time for 20 minutes before I hung up, 2nd time 10 minutes. Third and fourth time today. I'm seeking to find out test results today, taken 2 days ago without results. I understand it gets busy, but have a plan....don't disrespect clients like that. My wife called several months back, was placed on hold, and the office staff went home while she remained on the line without notice. Tell me there's not a problem in this area!! I'm now into $1,000 for tests without a conclusion as to what might be wrong. I'm forfeiting my own healthcare in lieu of my dog's. Whether they are piling on or not I can't say. What I can say is that on $11.00 an hour, this can't continue. I'll be asking for my dog's records and moving on. A very unpleasant experience.

If you want to get GREAT, QUALITY care, come here and see Dr. Erick! I have four dogs, My mother has 3 dogs and 2 cats. I will never see another Vet again. The prices are just fine, because there is no price limit on care and quality when it comes to MY PETS! What I admire most about Dr. E is that he is honest and won't beat around the bush. He has never ever put myself or my mom in a position where we had to spend more than we needed to for our pets. I will spend a Saturday afternoon, bringing all four of my dogs here just to get their nails cut! The entire staff here treats us like family! They come out and embrace our animals and make them feel comfortable because 2 of them are very nervous.
The Mele Family LOVES Dr. Erick and the staff at Animal Health Center of PSL. We will always follow him where he goes! Thank you to the staff for always helping us with our fur babies. It is an amazing feeling to have people you trust care for your animals.

Ridiculous vet who is either highly uneducated or is a complete scammer.
So I am from psl but recently moved to Texas. I brought my German Shepard down for the holidays (a road trip I have made with her 3 times already). Due to my husband and other dog being in the car she was extremely stressed for the 23+ hr drive. So I call to make an appointment to get some sedatives for her ride back so she's more comfortable.
Let me also note I am not a fan of giving dogs meds (especially sedatives) unless absolutely essential. And a 80lb dog trying to climb on my lap on a highway for 25 hours was an acceptable reason.
So I had all her records and papers and they were able to see me so she could get her meds.
Let me also preface this with the fact that I work with dogs (grooming and training) and also have multiple degrees in zoology. I however, do no mention this at new vets offices since I understand the frustration of dog owners acting like they know better, when vets are trying to do their job.
As the vet is examining my dogs he informs me of my dogs bald spots on her front legs (about 3, 1inch spots). I let him know that she bites herself when she's anxious and as soon as she is back in Texas they will clear up. It's her nervous behavior, which is very common.
He tells me to get that looked out because it could be mange............ strike 1.
He then notices her ears where red and had scratch marks. I inform him that she has very itchy skin (she's been tested for everything under the sun and has a strict diet and Benadryl to help) and my parents have lots of plants that produce a lot of pollen (and since she has dumbo ears that catch everything) and she has been scratching them. He then says, and I quote, " I see dogs every day and I have never seen a dog get red ears from allergies. It is an infection. But not inside the ears. It could be mange"
So I basically zone out as he's talking because I am annoyed and he slaps us with a $100+ bill. So I just leave at this point.
So long story short, this vet is either very uneducated or a scammer. Unless it's an absolute emergency, please do not take your pet here or get a second opinion before treating.

I took my sick cat here and described his symptoms as lethargic, not eating, and not drinking. The vet acted like he didn't believe me when I told him the cat was sick. He then examined the cat who started growling (which he does when he doesn't want to be prodded) and determined it was some kind of spine injury. This ended up not being the case as my other cat developed the same symptoms and when I took her to a different vet they determined it was some kind of toxin or venom (spider or snake). The vet's "bedside manner" is terrible I don't feel comfortable bringing my animals here and will never use this vet again.

I have been bringing my animals to this clinic for quite awhile now and absolutely love them. Hands down the best clinic on the treasure coast. The staff are friendly, and always willing to go above and beyond to make sure you and your pet are taken care of. The owner and vets are always willing to take their time to talk to clients about concerns or questions. I would not trust my fur babies with anyone else, they are quick in rendering amazing care... And I would highly recommend them to anyone in the area. Love this staff and clinic!
