The most important thing for any parent is to protect their children and to have someone to take care of them when they’re sick. I have such wonderful experiences here with my elderly dog. Everyone is so kind to me and they treat my dog like family which is priceless. I also appreciated how this office handled telling my family our older cat was very ill when another vet's office on 210 had previously charged us several hundred dollars with no real explanation to help us understand what was wrong. Animal Medical Clinic was able to explain to us just how sick our cat really was (based on the previous test results and symptoms he was still showing) without charging us hundreds of dollars all over again. I have been using this facility since it opened on CR 210. Dr. Stewart and Dr. Hill are both amazing and very caring people. It's a perk that they are so close which is better for my kitties who don't like the car or the carrier! The staff is so friendly and the techs are really caring and loving with the animals. Also, they take Care Credit which really helps out with expensive procedures and care that your pets may need. If you are new to the 210 or Saint Johns area, don't have a regular vet or looking for a new vet, I recommend you give this animal clinic a visit. Such a great experience. I was able to get my dog in for a last-minute appointment. The whole staff was very friendly and I was seen quickly after arriving. The doctor was very through in explaining everything about what tests she recommended and I was given an estimate of the costs so I could decide what I wanted to do. After the results came back, the doctor took her time to explain all the test results as well as her recommendations. I was very impressed that while I was waiting for the results the Dr popped her head in the room to let me know how much longer it would be and gave me the preliminary results (which helped ease my anxiety about what might be wrong with my dog). And at the end of the visit she gave me a written summary of everything we talked about during the appointment including how to administer my dogs medication. I would highly recommend them!! I have gone to Animal Medical Clinic at St John's for just a little over 11years. Dr. Stewart has mostly been my doggies vet but we have seen Dr. Hill as well on occasion. You can't go wrong either way, these ladies go above and beyond to treat your baby as if they were their own. They are simply Awesome!!! I truly mean this. I had to put my shepherd down a few years ago and they were so sweet through such a terrible time for my family... They even sent our family flowers. Our little shitzu has been with us for 17 years. He got to the point he would wobble and fall down. He has arthritis in his legs. He was introduced to laser treatments by Dr Stewart. He has been getting treatments for the problem. He now runs around like a puppy with no pain. If your dog has this problem do them a favor and take him to get some treatments. Puppy update! The stiffness in his back legs due to manipulation under sedation is gone (especially bad in older dogs - my puppy is 12!). Doctor Stewart took the pressure bandage off of his foot (where his toe was) and said it is looking good. Another checkup on Monday evening. You know you've been to the vet too much when you know just about EVERYONE that works there by name! I am so thankful for the Cold Laser Therapy treatment at Animal Medical Clinic. When given the option by Dr. Stewart of invasive knee surgery or laser therapy, we chose the laser therapy and it was 100% effective for my cocker, Riley. No painful recovery, no drugs, no stitches, no E-collar and FAR less expensive!! Now my 12 year old golden retriever is receiving it for joint and hip relief. I can't wait for him to feel better. They seem to care more about selling new treatments than actually healing your pet. While my pet was back seeing the vet, a man came in with an emergency and was distraught about his dog. He was told the vets had gone home. They offered him nothing, no emergency vet number or another open vet. I told him a place to take his dog where he could get help. As soon as the man left, the vet emerged to head home for the day. This place will gladly take dollar after dollar with no result. Read Less

We have been taking our two dogs to see Drs Stewart and Hill on a regular basis ever since we moved to St Johns in 2010 . The staff here is very friendly and very caring to our animals. The place is clean and smells nice, and the docs know their stuff. We even have our grooming done at this location. Compared to other vets we have used in the past in other cities, this clinic is way above the norm. We are very satisfied customers with happy and healthy dogs! Read Less

We live right around the corner and have been here several times. I have now found another vet farther away that I would rather go to. Some staff in this office are very nice, but others, not so much. They seem very condescending and judgemental about your choices when caring for your pet. The front lobby is small and they sit behind this high desk, not very friendly. They take your animal in the back for everything other than the basic exam, not even asking if you want to be present while they do shots or more complex exams. We travel for a living, our dog had a large tick that we couldn't remove without making a mess of it. Not to mention we aren't very tick savvy as we're from Nevada and don't have these nasties! This vet was nearby, the staff was extremely friendly, the office was very clean and they got us in right away. We took our dog there for an ear infection. He went back 4 times that month and many $$$$ later he lost all the hair under his chin and around his eyes. Because I had not taken him personally to his last appointment I asked the vet to call me. When the vet called me back, I asked for an update and she said they hadn't seen him in weeks. I told her he was there last week and was prescribed a $30 shampoo....after she found the visit info she quickly ran through the fact that it wasn't mange and that more expensive tests would need to be run. I told her I was very concerned for our pet that he is going through extremes and is losing his hair. I asked if any of the costly lab test they had already done were ever sent to a laboratory and the answer was no. She then said - well it's probably allergies. I told her I had a dog with allergies so I'm familiar with them and then she cut me off. She went on and on about how dog allergies are not like people and therefore I wouldn't know what I was looking at. I explained on my other dog, he had red skin and itched until the area was bald. This dog has white raised bumps that are crusty and all the hair around it is falling out. She then started to laugh at me and said it was allergies that he has. I said "please don't laugh at me I'm concerned about my pet" she went on to say that if I wanted I could take him to a dermatologist (still laughing) I told her that we had entrusted her to care for our pet and I didn't understand why she was laughing and being so flippant. I was so happy this location opened. I had been to 2 other vets before and they had the most impersonal vets there and it seemed so rush-rush. Both of the doctors at Animal Medical Clinic- St Johns really treated my dog well. She is a rescue and has required a lot of special care (we got her later in life). I really WANT to like this vet.  But, when I took in my terrier I just didn't get that warm fuzzy that the front desk staff or the veterinarian that actually saw my pup, cared all that much.  I guess the place felt really, really institutional and cold.  Which some people may really appreciate!  It is very clean and doesn't smell funky-dunky when you're in the reception area or examination room.  I do like that, but I prefer a little more 'warmth' when taking my frightened, fuzzy buddy to see a doc.I did feel that the immunization and office visit where really very expensive here, but I will admit I have not been back since my first visit over a year ago.  I just didn't like the space here.  But perhaps you have a preference for a very medicinal feeling environment.  Then my suggestion would be to definitely give them a call as the prices and staff may have changed in this timeframe.This is a very clean, very professional office.  So, it really does boil down to price and preference for me personally.  Note:  They do have boarding here which could be very convenient if you live off CR 210 or the surrounding areas.
