Central Animal Hospital on 4801 4th St N in St Petersburg provides full service veterinary hospital services including disease prevention & treatment, soft tissue & orthopaedic surgery, minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgeries, regenerative therapies (PRP, IRAP & stem cell), canine rehabilitation, boarding and grooming. Central Animal Hospital and Dr. Brown has 25+ years of experience in minimally invasive surgery for pets, knee repair surgeries, knee surgery for dogs, fractured bone repairs, CCL repair, laparoscopic surgeries including spays, laparoscopic spay, soft palate resection, organ biopsies, and gastropexy (to prevent bloat in deep chested dogs), chemotherapy, dermatology, soft palate resections & stenotic nares corrections for brachycephalic breeds (boston terriers, bulldogs, etc), TECA surgery, total ear canal ablations, cystotomies, perenial urethrostomy surgeries, and some ophthamological cases including cherry eye surgeries. We have a full service canine rehabilitation center (like physical therapy for dogs) and hydrotherapy for dogs.

I brought my rescued pet squirrel in last minute after I noticed her acting strangely, the office was super compassionate and knowledgeable on squirrel care. The doctor even stayed past the time he normally would to check out my squirrel. Everyone was extremely friendly. The doctor and tech both talked about their personal experiences with squirrels and their other animals, you can tell they truly care. They spent a good amount of time in the exam room with us, they definitely didn’t rush us out the door. Especially considering it was after their normal hours. Really this office deserves way more than 5 stars, extremely impressed!!!

My poor kitty was limping and just not herself so I called Central Animal Hospital to get an appointment. Even though my cat was not a patient there, the front desk member listened to what was going on and offered me an appointment same day! Everyone at the office was super nice and great with Lucy. It turns out that she had a high fever and an abscess on her paw . They took great care of her and treated us both kindly. I will definitely recommend them!

The best vet and the best clinic! Dr Sutton is extremely knowledgable and caring. She listens to any concerns and explains everything. The receptionist, Lisa, is also fantastic and has known our dog since he was a puppy and taken great care of him (and his owners). I have been impressed with the professionalism of all the vet techs. Our dog has had multiple severe health issues and some minor issues and I feel that he has always received the best care at Central Animal Hospital. I wouldn't want to take my dog anywhere else.

Veterinarian and vet tech were both very thorough, patient, kind and funny. I had a pleasant time during my visit at Central Animal Hospital with my dog and plan to bring my cats for any vet needs as well. Prices are reasonable. I did not wait long at all. Above all, the veterinarian made sure that all of my concerns and questions were resolved before he moved forward with any tests and treatments. My dog felt very comfortable here as well, which is unusual for him. This says a lot, to me, about the staff and the atmosphere at Central Animal Hospital. I highly recommend this location.

We took a stray we found today to Central Animal Hospital to get checked out and we could not have been happier with the service we received and the care our newest family member received. I can tell pretty quickly if vets truly care about the animals they service and I knew right away that Dr. Sutton, her assistant, and the office manager were ALL legitimate and sincere animal lovers. Dr Sutton had been our previous vet at another establishment. It wasn't an emergency but I didn't want to wait for a whole weekend in case it was something serious. The staff was amazing at understanding my concerns, setting an appointment, and explaining what paperwork to complete prior to arrival in order to expedite the process. Lisa, Julie, and Dr Sutton were fantastic. Very clean and organized. Great experience. I will definitely bring the rest of my fur babies back (when needed) :)

This is my first time as a pet owner outside of growing up with the family dog, so I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, but they made me and my sweet pup feel very comfortable. They present you with all the options and don't try to force anything down your throat either, which is refreshing unlike most doctor's offices to which I've been. Today was my first time going to Central Animal Hospital. They have a great facility and the staff is great as well. I brought my 2 year old German Shepherd, Kaiser, to them for a routine checkup and to update his vaccinations. Both Kelly and Dr. Nick Gunter were very professional and treated Kaiser with the up most care. I was also delighted to learn that they offer a pet wellness plan, which is a big plus in my opinion. I will definitely be using Central Animal Hospital in the future.

He's very knowledgable about brachy breeds. When it comes to choosing the best heartworm and flea prevention, I often tell people, if it's good enough for his dogs, it's good enough for mine. I like the flexibility with the Healthy Pet Club. I know many other satisfied patients, and I'm confident we're getting the best care available.

There are so many positive things to say I don't know where to begin. The staff is second to none. They love their patients as if they were their own fur babies. I needed a vet for Daisy, but wanted one that had been at the ER. I got lucky finding the one that helped care for her during her stay. The love they showed was AMAZING. The battle was fought together, and while Daisy was very sick she lost the battle. The understanding and compassion shown from everyone was great. Made it a no brainer when Yoda came home after being gone for awhile with a nasty hole in his leg. During his and Daisy's treatment we seen other Drs filling in, They were no different in the care and compassion shown. Yoda is on his way to recovering . I wouldn't go anywhere else when it comes to my fur babies. There's no better feeling then trust when it comes to picking a vet and I trust them 200%.

This has nothing to do with a sick pet nor a pet who needed their shots/check-up. No, this deals with Lisa Fink who runs the front end of the hospital for the doctors. Our dog went missing on Monday evening and we had called all the shelters around but we got a call from Lisa thinking that Spare dog (my friend named him) was brought in by a concerned neighbor. We went down there with photos I have taken of the errant canine and sure enough, she ID'd the darn guy! Also found out he's half Beagle and Aussie Shepherd as well!!Turns out a fellow living a quarter of a mile from our house had found him and brought him in. Lisa gave us the fellow's name and number and by the afternoon, we had the Spare dog back!What was impressive and generous is the fact Lisa didn't charge the fellow for scanning for a chip (he has one but they couldn't locate it). Shetried to weigh the dog (didn't go over too good) and made a mental note of the type and weight (spot on!). Lisa deserves a raise and if the hospital runs this well, we shall be back with both dogs for their shots, check ups, etc.Well done!

Central Animal Hospital on 4801 4th St N in St Petersburg provides full service veterinary hospital services including disease prevention & treatment, soft tissue & orthopaedic surgery, minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgeries, regenerative therapies (PRP, IRAP & stem cell), canine rehabilitation, boarding and grooming. Central Animal Hospital and Dr. Brown has 25+ years of experience in minimally invasive surgery for pets, knee repair surgeries, knee surgery for dogs, fractured bone repairs, CCL repair, laparoscopic surgeries including spays, laparoscopic spay, soft palate resection, organ biopsies, and gastropexy (to prevent bloat in deep chested dogs), chemotherapy, dermatology, soft palate resections & stenotic nares corrections for brachycephalic breeds (boston terriers, bulldogs, etc), TECA surgery, total ear canal ablations, cystotomies, perenial urethrostomy surgeries, and some ophthamological cases including cherry eye surgeries. I brought my rescued pet squirrel in last minute after I noticed her acting strangely, the office was super compassionate and knowledgeable on squirrel care. The doctor even stayed past the time he normally would to check out my squirrel. Everyone was extremely friendly. The doctor and tech both talked about their personal experiences with squirrels and their other animals, you can tell they truly care. They spent a good amount of time in the exam room with us, they definitely didn’t rush us out the door. Especially considering it was after their normal hours. Really this office deserves way more than 5 stars, extremely impressed!!!

Even though my cat was not a patient there, the front desk member listened to what was going on and offered me an appointment same day! Everyone at the office was super nice and great with Lucy. The best vet and the best clinic! Dr Sutton is extremely knowledgable and caring. She listens to any concerns and explains everything. The receptionist, Lisa, is also fantastic and has known our dog since he was a puppy and taken great care of him (and his owners). I have been impressed with the professionalism of all the vet techs. Our dog has had multiple severe health issues and some minor issues and I feel that he has always received the best care at Central Animal Hospital. I wouldn't want to take my dog anywhere else.

Sometimes it is the small things that make a huge difference. We were unsatisfied with the vet practice we had been going to for over 10 years. They had gotten far to crowded and very impersonal. Central Animal Hospital welcomed us with a sign that had all of the animals names who would visit that day written on it at the front door. It was so heart warming. Veterinarian and vet tech were both very thorough, patient, kind and funny. I had a pleasant time during my visit at Central Animal Hospital with my dog and plan to bring my cats for any vet needs as well. Prices are reasonable. I did not wait long at all. Above all, the veterinarian made sure that all of my concerns and questions were resolved before he moved forward with any tests and treatments. My dog felt very comfortable here as well, which is unusual for him. This says a lot, to me, about the staff and the atmosphere at Central Animal Hospital. I highly recommend this location.

We took a stray we found today to Central Animal Hospital to get checked out and we could not have been happier with the service we received and the care our newest family member received. I can tell pretty quickly if vets truly care about the animals they service and I knew right away that Dr. Sutton, her assistant, and the office manager were ALL legitimate and sincere animal lovers. Our new fur-baby has not only found his new home with us but has found his new vet! We highly recommend Central Animal Hospital!

Dr Sutton had been our previous vet at another establishment. It wasn't an emergency but I didn't want to wait for a whole weekend in case it was something serious. The staff was amazing at understanding my concerns, setting an appointment, and explaining what paperwork to complete prior to arrival in order to expedite the process. Lisa, Julie, and Dr Sutton were fantastic. Very clean and organized. Great experience. I will definitely bring the rest of my fur babies back (when needed) :)

Lisa, Julie the tech, and Doc Sutton are all amazing! They are so sweet, kind, and caring. This is my first time as a pet owner outside of growing up with the family dog, so I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, but they made me and my sweet pup feel very comfortable. They present you with all the options and don't try to force anything down your throat either, which is refreshing unlike most doctor's offices to which I've been. I definitely recommend them to all pet owners!

Today was my first time going to Central Animal Hospital. They have a great facility and the staff is great as well. I brought my 2 year old German Shepherd, Kaiser, to them for a routine checkup and to update his vaccinations. Both Kelly and Dr. Nick Gunter were very professional and treated Kaiser with the up most care. I was also delighted to learn that they offer a pet wellness plan, which is a big plus in my opinion. I will definitely be using Central Animal Hospital in the future.

I started taking my pug to Dr. Brown because Central Animal was close to home, but I've come to rely on his advice to help keep both of my pugs happy and healthy despite some challenges and emergencies along the way. He's very knowledgable about brachy breeds. When it comes to choosing the best heartworm and flea prevention, I often tell people, if it's good enough for his dogs, it's good enough for mine. I like the flexibility with the Healthy Pet Club. I know many other satisfied patients, and I'm confident we're getting the best care available.

Dr. Brown, the technicians and the entire staff have been with us throughout the experience coaching us as cantankerous kitties grow into wiser middle-aged machos 'n' missies, then transition to regal senior status. There are so many positive things to say I don't know where to begin. The staff is second to none. They love their patients as if they were their own fur babies. I needed a vet for Daisy, but wanted one that had been at the ER. I got lucky finding the one that helped care for her during her stay. The love they showed was AMAZING. The battle was fought together, and while Daisy was very sick she lost the battle. The understanding and compassion shown from everyone was great. Made it a no brainer when Yoda came home after being gone for awhile with a nasty hole in his leg. During his and Daisy's treatment we seen other Drs filling in, They were no different in the care and compassion shown. Yoda is on his way to recovering . I wouldn't go anywhere else when it comes to my fur babies. There's no better feeling then trust when it comes to picking a vet and I trust them 200%.

Appointments, reminders, tips and good direction each and every time we are there. Lisa is the best as is the entire loving, caring and professional staff. Most expensive vet I have ever taken my pets to.. In 4 states. $110 for a single heart worm test, when the pet has been on the same medication?! before the vet would release the prescription is highway robbery. Tried to get over $700 in routine vaccines and check up?!? Shame on you!

There are so many good things to say about Dr Farber and her staff, that it would take the entire site to list them all! We take all of our babies to this vet, and never leave without all of our questions answered, an after hours number to call if we think of others later on, and the knowledge that our dogs have been well cared for like children. We recommend everyone to this vet, for the service, the staff, and convenient hours.

This has nothing to do with a sick pet nor a pet who needed their shots/check-up. No, this deals with Lisa Fink who runs the front end of the hospital for the doctors. Our dog went missing on Monday evening and we had called all the shelters around but we got a call from Lisa thinking that Spare dog (my friend named him) was brought in by a concerned neighbor. We went down there with photos I have taken of the errant canine and sure enough, she ID'd the darn guy! Also found out he's half Beagle and Aussie Shepherd as well!!Turns out a fellow living a quarter of a mile from our house had found him and brought him in. Lisa gave us the fellow's name and number and by the afternoon, we had the Spare dog back!What was impressive and generous is the fact Lisa didn't charge the fellow for scanning for a chip (he has one but they couldn't locate it). Shetried to weigh the dog (didn't go over too good) and made a mental note of the type and weight (spot on!). Lisa deserves a raise and if the hospital runs this well, we shall be back with both dogs for their shots, check ups, etc.Well done!
