I have been a client of Sarasota Equine since 1997. The original vets have all retired, but each and every new veterinarian has been well qualified, caring, professional and compassionate. They have always gone over and above for the welfare of the horse and will tell you what you 'need' to hear, not what you 'want' to hear. The office staff are kind, helpful and always return calls. Sarasota Equine may not be the cheapest, but in my opinion, they are most accommodating and the best in this area. Read Less

Poorest experience ever. They not find the problem with our horse, they overcharged, were rude and unprofessional. Very unpleasant! Do not go there.!

Poorest communication,worst staff ever.Very unpleasant conversation with staff and Dr.Can not believe how rude they are. Mc Ginty performed tasks we did not request, but was quick to charge us for, even shipping charges  for Excede,a sterile suspension he should have had in stock on his truck.Needless to say, they did not figure out what was wrong with our horse.Charged creditcard without sending invoice first, had to beg them several times to get info on what they did and results.Highly disappointed. The vet came to treat my 23 year old mare's leg as she was lame. I had just brought her from Colorado. She also had welts all over her body which totally upset me. I had never experienced welts like that in Colorado?? Dr Kaiser continued to bombard me with questions regarding my mares leg however I hadn't received the report from my Colorado vet. I had no idea how to answer his questions yet he insisted on my explaining what had happened in the past. He left without treating her yet I received a bill for $180 I did not pay the bill. Now Kelly in the office told me they refuse to treat my horses in the future. The customer service I have received particularly from Kelly has been more than poor. Read Less

I've used Sarasota Equine for over 20 years and have yet to need to call another vet service. All of their vets are fantastic. Having used them for so long, I learned at an early age to have patience when it comes to a house call service, because emergencies are a higher priority than having my coggins pulled at the scheduled time, which I have run into once or twice... it's a small price to pay knowing that they've just saved a life. Their secretary has her hands full with keeping calls for all the vets in line, taking calls and doing billing, so I cut the poor girl some slack if she's short on the phone. At the end of the day, McGinty, Copeland and Keiser (sorry if I spelled any wrong) are some of the very best in the business and they have a lot of heart too... my horses look forward to their routine visits and it puts my mind at ease to know I have access to an awesome vet 24/7 in the event of a real emergency. Their job isn't to tell you what you want to hear: their job is to tell you what you need to hear and save lives. Read Less

I can't believe how I was treated! There customer service was terrible. I was billed for my dads services and called the office about it. I asked the receptionist to call my dad about it because it wasn't my bill, but his. She responds "can't YOU do that? Are you not on talking terms with him?" Wow, none of her business either way! She was older than me and had this "omg" valley girl tone with me. She was just so rude and it was their billing problem not mine. We always have paid our bills, but I guess a good paying and consistent customer doesn't matter. Read Less

Unfortunately I have to leave a bad review based on customer service. Normally I take my Animal to them to be looked at but the one time I didn't I made an appointment for the vet to come see her, it was a very important appointment being that things needed to be done before I took her off to the breeder the next day, I called to confirm our appointment that morning and to make sure he could preform a task on a need to do basis after looking at her, when I showed up to my appointment 20 min before scheduled he was there and gone, working on her without my permission or my presence, let alone I didn't get to discuss what my concerns were with him, which ended up needing to be done before taking her to the breeder, therefore I had to frantically get ahold of him (sense there was no courtesy call on their end) to come back out, then adjust my whole next day to meet with him once again when in reality if he would have been there for our initial appointment we would have never had any of these issues once again I was there 20 min before the start of our scheduled appointment. When I called to ask them to wave the service fee for inconvenience I was introduced to probably the worst customer service I've ever had in my life. I highly discourage people to give their hard earned money to a company with such poor customer service. It's so funny how the customer rep agreed with me when I called frantically trying to get ahold of the vet, that when you make an appointment you expect to see the vet, I did not make this appointment through the barn I'm at I made it myself, yet when I called to ask if they could wave the fee she completely contradicted herself!Read Less

Unfortunately I have to leave a bad review based on customer service. We are new to Myakka and were referred to Sarasota Equine by a friend. We can't say enough wonderful things about these Veterinarians! We have had both Dr's Copeland and Kaiser out for farm calls, one emergency, and we are VERY satisfied with the care they provided our horses. They take their time with our animals and they are both very knowledgeable. It's reassuring to know we can count on these guys anytime, day or night! Thank you! Read Less

I have been a client of Sarasota Equine since 1997. The original vets have all retired, but each and every new veterinarian has been well qualified, caring, professional and compassionate. They have always gone over and above for the welfare of the horse and will tell you what you 'need' to hear, not what you 'want' to hear. The office staff are kind, helpful and always return calls. Sarasota Equine may not be the cheapest, but in my opinion, they are most accommodating and the best in this area. Read Less

The vet came to treat my 23 year old mare's leg as she was lame. I had just brought her from Colorado. She also had welts all over her body which totally upset me. I had never experienced welts like that in Colorado?? Dr Kaiser continued to bombard me with questions regarding my mares leg however I hadn't received the report from my Colorado vet. I had no idea how to answer his questions yet he insisted on my explaining what had happened in the past. He left without treating her yet I received a bill for $180 I did not pay the bill. I've used Sarasota Equine for over 20 years and have yet to need to call another vet service. All of their vets are fantastic. Having used them for so long, I learned at an early age to have patience when it comes to a house call service, because emergencies are a higher priority than having my coggins pulled at the scheduled time, which I have run into once or twice... it's a small price to pay knowing that they've just saved a life. I asked the receptionist to call my dad about it because it wasn't my bill, but his. She responds "can't YOU do that? Are you not on talking terms with him?" Wow, none of her business either way! We are new to Myakka and were referred to Sarasota Equine by a friend. We can't say enough wonderful things about these Veterinarians! We have had both Dr's Copeland and Kaiser out for farm calls, one emergency, and we are VERY satisfied with the care they provided our horses. They take their time with our animals and they are both very knowledgeable. It's reassuring to know we can count on these guys anytime, day or night! Thank you! Read Less
