He had an appointment set for 3 days. Called and spoke with someone there and explained the issues my cat has been having. Got a call the next day to verify her appointment and everything was all set.. get a call the next day (day of the appointment) to be told they close at four and they may not have enough time to provide the care she needs. The appointment was set for 2:40...how unprofessional. Why could that not have been addressed the multiple times we have talked on the phone? When I spoke with them the first time they explained they only had my cat and another customer scheduled for that day. Obviously they just wanted to get to go home early. I recently moved to Sarasota and my cat got sick from a new kitten I had brought home. I called VCA Lockwood Ridge and they saw me promptly the next day. I have nothing but rave reviews about this place! The Doctor was so personable and was so caring with my cat she even called me the next day to see how my cat was doing! I love this place! I called back with a question about a week later and the Doctor personally took my call, this never happens. If you need a vet or have a sick animal I would recommend you bring your babies here! This place is not that great. The staff tries to sell you something rhat not needed while never examining the real cause. Oh yeah, its me with my gf with my cat. By the way we took him to emergency animal room, all it was is rhe ear infection, and i did pay $500 for it not your fake not knowing whats gonna happen to my boy $900 one. You are not proffecional. Get your stuff correct before charging $. You doctor saying our cat is gonna die and offering crap that we didnt need was not right and really offensive. Read Less

AVOID!!! Unless you like being EXTORTED, you should not bring your pet here. I made an appointment for a heart worm shot and they gave the price over the phone of $49. I get there and they won't give my dog the shot unless I give them an extra $50 on top of the $49 for absolutely nothing! So, not only would they not honor the price I was given over the phone, but they REFUSED to give the shot unless I gave them more money. Now my dog has to go without her heart worm prevention because of the blatant greed of this place, shame on you for holding my pets health for ransom, VCA! Read Less

Just found that one of the employee at VCA is talking to my boyfriend who takes his pets there. Two weeks ago, my boyfriend received a message on his phone from this employee and I was told it was junk. Found out last night, this employee was following him on Twitter. My boyfriend denied knowing this person. Pretty sure there is something going on between this employee and my boyfriend. I was told by the staff to talk to my boyfriend. Such a Friendly & Energetic crew at VCA. They treat my cats & dog like they're royalty. They make you feel very comfortable with them immediately. I took my cat in after he got injured in a fight, and everyone was sweet and helpful. Dr. Alimpic did a physical exam and ruled out fracture without doing any unnecessary x-rays or tests. No hidden fees or trying to sell me products like some other vets I've been to. $50 exam, $65 antibiotic, $50 painkiller. Very reasonable. I'll be going back! Read Less
