Dr. Gary of Vet Center of Sarasota is Dr. Doolittle. My Papillon, Ellie, has always hated the vet's office, shaking the entire visit, but she LOVES Dr. Gary and his team. She is so relaxed there and looks for him and his asst. to come out and greet her. I just moved here, and had appointments for my 2 dogs with Dr Gary. He is amazing with my dogs. They both were relaxed, which they have never been during vet visits! Dr Gary and his staff obviously know animals well, and gave me great suggestions for some behavior problems I was having. His suggestions have worked wonders. Always a great experience, no waiting when you have an appointment. When I had an emergency they fit me in too. Staff is super friendly and ultra accommodating. My dogs love Dr. Reinhardt, and he gets a kick out of them too. Very helpful advice for training my puppy too. I take my 3 dogs to Dr. Reinhardt. No additional syringe disposal fees here! I am a pet sitter, and bring not only my own dog to see them, but several of my client's dogs as well from time to time for check ups, etc and they are always a pleasure to work with, and very professional and accommodating. Dr. is fantastic and very caring and they have a very friendly and experienced staff! I really like and appreciate that they take the dogs for walks to make them feel more comfortable and relaxed and you can really tell that they truly care about each pet as if they were their own. I've had many dogs and cats during this time and I can't say enough about Doc Gary and his wife Laurie(she's a trip). I truly feel that Dr. Gary is one of the best diagnosticians in Sarasota. I have trusted him with the care of my animals and he has always gone above and beyond with their care. Doc and Laurie are very compassionate in their care of our "kids". We moved to Sarasota a little over one year ago and had been going to another veterinarian close to our home.  I have a 12 yr old and a 6 yr old Maltese.  The 6 yr old has had recurring issues with his ears and our 12 yr old female has been walking with a limp and sometimes even holding her right let out and not standing on it.  My current vet didn't seem to be making any progress with these things, so I decided it was time to look for someone new to help them.  Dr. Rheinhardt was highly recommended by my groomer, so I decided to make an appointment, and I am so glad I did.  Everyone on the staff is fantastic, from the moment you walk in the door.  They all go out of their way to make sure the pet is comfortable and to get them to relax.  I never felt rushed...it is such a calm environment (for the pets and their owners).  They suggested I make the initial appointment on separate dates so that Dr. Rheinhardt could focus on each dog individually.  When I arrived each time, someone immediately took them out for a walk to help them relax and get comfortable.  In each case, after thoroughly evaluating their issues, he sat with me and explained the course of action he would like to take.  The new medicine for my Jake's ears seems to be working...and my Spike is already responding to the pain medication and supplement he suggested...in only three days she is moving more freely and being very playful again.This might seem a bit early to be writing a review, but I was so impressed with the way everyone there treated my dogs with such compassion and caring...I've finally found a vet that I feel will always try to do the best thing for my little friends! my two cats have been patients here for about eight years, they are now twelve and fourteen. dr reinhardt and his super friendly and knowledgeable staff have been there for them through thick and thin and all stages of life! each employee is inherently kind, empathetic, takes whatever time necessary to answer questions and help, and obviously loves animals. dr reinhardt is obviously wise, well educated, ridiculously kind, and knows all angles of a cat's health. i appreciate that he is open minded also to holistic therapies and uses chemicals only when needed. i call mark the best vet assistant ever, he even made up a song about my cat, moon! the prices are very reasonable. i can't recommend them enough, and tell every pet owner i know about them. plus, there are beautiful b/w photos of the clinic on their walls and a stellar cat named hemi who purrs just as loud!Read Less
