I took my little guy in because he had worms. Dr. Russell examined him throughly and spent a good amount of time with us and explained a treatment plan. At no time did, I feel rushed. Also, the vet tech spent a good amount of time with us an explained what the test were for and went back over the treatment plan. She was personable and gentle with him. Dr. recommend a dental cleaning and to remove 6 teeth. He showed me the teeth and explained the procedure in detail. I decided to take him to another vet for a second opinion. I wasn't questioning the produce or the Dr. ability to do the surgery but the cost. I took him to another local vet with in 2 miles of each other. The throughly examined him and went over a treatment plan. They gave estimate of $1,300.00+. They also recommended other services but was not required and that total would of been $1,446.00 with everything. I went over the cost twice to make sure there were no miss understanding. To give them some credit they did not charge for the exam. Dr. Russell provided a low and high estimate. The other vet clinic did not. The procedure was $372.00 less at Dr. Russell's and he ended up removing 7 teeth not 6. When I picked him up , Dr. Russell went over the x-ray in detail and explained his after care. There's 4 vets within 4 miles of each other in the World Golf Village area. I don't understand how there's such a big price difference! As you can see Dr. Russell providing affordable care to the community. Dr. Russell and his staff took excellent care of my little guy.

Some time ago, I had my American Bully's ears cropped. Dr. Russell did an excellent job however, I wanted them revised to a shorter crop. Needless to say, Dr. Russell, lasered the ears once again to the desired specifications at no extra charge. Ace's ears look great and he was treated with the utmost care. The front desk staff are very personable and attentive. I would highly recommend this clinic for your pet needs.

The staff was very friendly and Dr. Russell was professional and nice. He was treating my precious toy poodle, Lexie, for pancreatitis (she had been treated previously over the last week for the same thing at another speciality animal hospital). After a day of iv fluids and antibiotics, she was not improving. He then suggested to give her plasma to see if that would help. After the plasma finished infusing, she improved for about an hour then immediately took a turn for the worse and passed away. Dr. Russell was not sure if the plasma was too much for her tiny body or if something else went wrong. He said she was doing better from the plasma but when his office called him to come back to the office to check on her because she had taken a turn for the worse, she had passed away before he could make it back to his office. We have been devastated since we received the phone call about her passing away. Since we are on vacation, we are having her cremated so we can get her home.

We have been taking our pugs to see Dr. Russell for almost 12 years. Dr. Russell and his staff are friendly, professional and caring. He educates us on what is going on with our little ones and what he feels should be the path to take and never need to take them back for the same issue. We trust him to the fullest and would not take our dogs anywhere else.

I think I've known Dr Kevin since he graduated Veterinary College. He has been my multiple pet's doc for over 20 yrs. Out of medical college he worked extra hours at night in emergency clinics. I feel that along with other special studies put made him more knowledgeable about sudden conditions or what we think are sudden conditions because our pets tend to 'hide' conditions. His knowledge has helped me ward off conditions in various pets that could have become serious and painful conditions. Along with his knowledge comes his huge love of our 'babies' and his and his staff's huge dedication, compassion and patience with worried 'parents'!

I have been going to Dr. Russell since my bulldog Sam was a puppy. He is now 2 years old. My very first meeting of him was when Sam was sick as a puppy and I needed medical attention asap. The clinic has always been willing to see me even when not scheduled. I was able to bring him straight in without any appointment to be seen right away. Since then, I recently had a cat diagnosed with sarcoma in his paw that required amputation of the entire limb. I was a nervous wreck but I trusted Dr. Russell with my whole heart that day in successfully removing not just the limb but the sarcoma. Since then Tigger, has fully recovered and adapted to three limbs. There was absolutely no complications of post surgical infections. I am very grateful for their professionalism, exceptional service, and willingness to take care of my family at the drop of a notice. The staff has always been pleasant and Sam has always been excited to go visit them. I also love to see their family pets throughout the clinic when we visit. It's a family centered clinic where you can express your concerns and opinions and receive great feedback and recommendations for the treatment of you pet. Bulldogs have a lot of needs that other dogs do not have, our biggest issue is allergies, skin conditions, and diet. Dr. Russell has proven himself time and time again with his expertise of the treatment of bulldogs specific medical issues. We are honestly so happy to have him and his staff as part of our family!

My dog got pancreatitis while I was out of town. I was unable to work with his vet directly and had to have my brother take my dog there. They charged over $1,200 for an overnight stay. She did not even need to stay there. This is a racket. They definitely care more about their own profit than your pet. Go elsewhere. I called my regular vet and sent him my bill from this vet. He said it should have been approximately half of what they charged me.

I just recently brought my new puppy to the Animal Medical Clinic and Dr Russell. the staff is so friendly and personal. Dr Russell is the best Vet I have ever had. He is amazing with animals and provides so much detailed information. He really takes his time with each patient. He has helped my other dog as well when no one else could. She had terrible allergies. I am happy to say, she has no issues at all now. I feel so blessed that I found this clinic and would enthusiastically recommend Dr Russell.

After taking my beloved cat, Ali, to another vet with no luck, I was watching her slowly die before my eyes and didn’t know what else to do.
I was fortunate to be referred to Dr. Russell by a third veterinarian. He saw her and immediately diagnosed and treated her. Wow! After a month of being too sick to eat, she started getting better. He kept me informed of everything he did and stayed in constant contact with follow up questions after treatment was done.
Two weeks later she has put on weight and is back to her old self!
Thank you Dr. Russell! You are so caring and your staff members are the same. What a team you have. I know where to go when I have need of the best care for my pets.

My parents had used him when I was younger; and we started using him when we moved to St. John's County... We've since moved out of town; and still drive the hour to bring our Mastiff to him. You won't find better care or treatment for your pet.Update: The staff here has gone so far above and beyond, it's hard to put into words. They have shown so much compassion in our toughest times that it's hard to not consider them as part of our family. We've since moved away, but still make the commute all the way out to see them, because it's worth it! I wouldn't trust our 4 legged children with anyone else...

Praline had just turned 16, was doing great then suddenly started having UTIs, going on for 10 months now, plus started losing her appetite & having many other complications. She has been on many antibiotics as well as developing a growth on her head that fills with blood & needs to be cleaned. Dr Russell has given me so much information thru email PDFs, responded to many emails as this has been a very stressful, overwhelming time to deal with an independent dog that became so needy. I've spent thousands of dollars here to take care of so many issues, but Praline is eating well again & has a fighting spirit, some miracles in her turnaround. She is well taken care of by Dr Russell & his staff, & he has always fit me in when she needed an iv or b12 or anything extra working around my running a business tight schedule. I always get the truth, advice, & feel free to ask any questions. It has been frustrating, but Dr Russell cares very much about all the animals that pass thru his doors & I highly suggest his practice.

We met Dr . Russell and his amazing staff last January. We moved here from South Florida with Our terminally ill Shih Tzu Gucci. Dr . Russell met her once before the end came one month later. He and his staff made her passing as gentle as if he Had been her Dr. all her life. They treated us like family. Fast forward 7 months. Little TIGER LILLY our new puppy has become part of our family. Today she greeted Dr . Russell, Marty & , Mackenzie like part of her new family! After several years of searching for the veterinarian that listened and understood my concerns, finally Dr. Russell was the one. I was a vet tech who worked for three of the most amazing veterinarians in Rockledge and was frustrated after moving to NE Florida. Note: I have not worked on the industry for almost 20 years. I got the feeling that the bottom line was more important than the animals that were patients. Dr. Russell truly loves his job. It's like visiting a neighbor when you go to the clinic. He remembers everything about you and keeps me up to date on his children. He has gotten my fur babies through some rough diseases, by keeping them comfortable and educating me on the best things I could do for them at home to improve their quality of life. My 13 year old shepherd is a great example. She was having age related pain and once I started actually listening and took Dr. Russell's advice, what I witnessed was amazing. Thank you Dr. Russell!

My mom has a senior lab with Diabetes and is blind. Last night around 10pm things went down. Sunday and after hours, our vet was closed until Monday morning 7:30am. We called repeatedly. Left messages on a voicemail that did not say that we even reached the right place but only no one at that extension was available. No call back. Fortunately she made it through the night. We made it to a responsible vet who lovingly helped her cross "Rainbow Bridge".

As an owner of Happy Hound Dog Resorts, I am very comfortable recommending the staff and fabulous Dr. Russell to our clients. I have taken my two standard poodles to Dr. Russell and he is very professional and easy to work with as our Veterinarian. Dr. Russell took my cat in when my regular vet was unavailable, due to medical emergency. He calmly assured us he would take care of her and do his best to help her feel better, explaining what was wrong with straightforward terms and paperwork that gave detailed information on the problem. He and the staff made sure she would feel better quickly, and the vet techs took the time to give detailed instructions on the medicines and follow up care. She is now feeling so much better, she's even back to stalking lizards in the porch!

I had an emergency the other day and my normal vet was closed for the afternoon. I needed someone to look at our dog ASAP. I called here and they immediately took us in. The staff and the vet were warm and welcoming. They addressed our concerns and understood our fear. They Examined our pet explained to us what was happen and administered twi shots. An then advised us if things didn't look better in a few days we should go to our normal vet for X-rays. Wow we were extremely impressed and would highly recommend them to others... thank you

There are so many places you can take your pet for treatments in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas, it is a pleasure to find an office that takes care of the people, the pets and the staff as well as Animal Medical Clinic does at this location. I only wish Dr. Kevin had a place closer to where we live in Avondale. Dr. Kevin gets it and takes care of his clients as well as the pets. He has great facilities and is one of the nicest people you will meet who will just sit with you and talk WITH you about your pet. It is a business first, but nice to see that he has great bedside manners and understands that people want the best for their pets. I recommend Dr. Kevin and this staff!

Best vet I've ever known! He has saved my Eli's life twice now! Wonderful caring, compassionate staff always makes my babies feel comfortable, even my grumpy old man! After going to our regular vet for 23+ years (and being very happy) we were referred to AMC/Dr. Russell for our bulldogs tail amputation. From the first consultation to surgery we knew our baby was in the best hands possible. Every single member of this staff is top notch. Our only constraint for regular vet care is he is 45 to 60 mins away, but for anything else our babies will be at AMC.

I needed to see a cat vet asap, and was given an appt. right away. Dr. Hicks evaluated my cat Basil, prescribed a treatment, and gave me much useful information, including that the ideal day to remove puppies from their mums is day 49. Who knew? I left the clinic only to discover after I got home that I had forgotten to take the prescription from the desk. The receptionist called me, said she lived near me, and BROUGHT the drugs to my house! This was awesome customer service. Meeting Dr. Hicks was a pleasure, and Cheryl goes above and beyond the call of duty. Bravo all.

Terrible customer service! I stood in the lobby for several minutes in front of two receptionists before one asked if they could help me. The assistant (although I have no idea what her job was since she never told me) seemed bitter and like she disliked her job and also was not very knowledgeable. The vet (again I'm only assuming he was a vet because he never introduced himself) was friendly but seemed like he was in a hurry to get me out of the office. Upon leaving I made an appointment for three weeks later, which I forgot I made, and never received a reminder phone call the day before, however, I did get a phone call telling me I missed my appointment. If the office staff is this unorganized and unfriendly, I can't imagine how sub par their actual medical abilities are. I will not be going back to this vet!

We have been taking our pugs to see Dr. Russell for almost 12 years. Dr. Russell and his staff are friendly, professional and caring. He educates us on what is going on with our little ones and what he feels should be the path to take and never need to take them back for the same issue. We trust him to the fullest and would not take our dogs anywhere else.

I think I've known Dr Kevin since he graduated Veterinary College. He has been my multiple pet's doc for over 20 yrs. Out of medical college he worked extra hours at night in emergency clinics. I feel that along with other special studies put made him more knowledgeable about sudden conditions or what we think are sudden conditions because our pets tend to 'hide' conditions. His knowledge has helped me ward off conditions in various pets that could have become serious and painful conditions. Along with his knowledge comes his huge love of our 'babies' and his and his staff's huge dedication, compassion and patience with worried 'parents'!

I have been going to Dr. Russell since my bulldog Sam was a puppy. He is now 2 years old. My very first meeting of him was when Sam was sick as a puppy and I needed medical attention asap. The clinic has always been willing to see me even when not scheduled. I was able to bring him straight in without any appointment to be seen right away. Since then, I recently had a cat diagnosed with sarcoma in his paw that required amputation of the entire limb. I was a nervous wreck but I trusted Dr. Russell with my whole heart that day in successfully removing not just the limb but the sarcoma. Since then Tigger, has fully recovered and adapted to three limbs. There was absolutely no complications of post surgical infections. I am very grateful for their professionalism, exceptional service, and willingness to take care of my family at the drop of a notice. The staff has always been pleasant and Sam has always been excited to go visit them. I also love to see their family pets throughout the clinic when we visit. It's a family centered clinic where you can express your concerns and opinions and receive great feedback and recommendations for the treatment of you pet. Bulldogs have a lot of needs that other dogs do not have, our biggest issue is allergies, skin conditions, and diet. Dr. Russell has proven himself time and time again with his expertise of the treatment of bulldogs specific medical issues. We are honestly so happy to have him and his staff as part of our family!

My dog got pancreatitis while I was out of town. I was unable to work with his vet directly and had to have my brother take my dog there. They charged over $1,200 for an overnight stay. She did not even need to stay there. This is a racket. They definitely care more about their own profit than your pet. Go elsewhere. I called my regular vet and sent him my bill from this vet. He said it should have been approximately half of what they charged me.

I just recently brought my new puppy to the Animal Medical Clinic and Dr Russell. the staff is so friendly and personal. Dr Russell is the best Vet I have ever had. He is amazing with animals and provides so much detailed information. He really takes his time with each patient. He has helped my other dog as well when no one else could. She had terrible allergies. I am happy to say, she has no issues at all now. I feel so blessed that I found this clinic and would enthusiastically recommend Dr Russell.

After taking my beloved cat, Ali, to another vet with no luck, I was watching her slowly die before my eyes and didn’t know what else to do.
I was fortunate to be referred to Dr. Russell by a third veterinarian. He saw her and immediately diagnosed and treated her. Wow! After a month of being too sick to eat, she started getting better. He kept me informed of everything he did and stayed in constant contact with follow up questions after treatment was done.
Two weeks later she has put on weight and is back to her old self!
Thank you Dr. Russell! You are so caring and your staff members are the same. What a team you have. I know where to go when I have need of the best care for my pets.

My parents had used him when I was younger; and we started using him when we moved to St. John's County... We've since moved out of town; and still drive the hour to bring our Mastiff to him. You won't find better care or treatment for your pet.Update: The staff here has gone so far above and beyond, it's hard to put into words. They have shown so much compassion in our toughest times that it's hard to not consider them as part of our family. We've since moved away, but still make the commute all the way out to see them, because it's worth it! I wouldn't trust our 4 legged children with anyone else...

Praline had just turned 16, was doing great then suddenly started having UTIs, going on for 10 months now, plus started losing her appetite & having many other complications. She has been on many antibiotics as well as developing a growth on her head that fills with blood & needs to be cleaned. Dr Russell has given me so much information thru email PDFs, responded to many emails as this has been a very stressful, overwhelming time to deal with an independent dog that became so needy. I've spent thousands of dollars here to take care of so many issues, but Praline is eating well again & has a fighting spirit, some miracles in her turnaround. She is well taken care of by Dr Russell & his staff, & he has always fit me in when she needed an iv or b12 or anything extra working around my running a business tight schedule. I always get the truth, advice, & feel free to ask any questions. It has been frustrating, but Dr Russell cares very much about all the animals that pass thru his doors & I highly suggest his practice.

We met Dr . Russell and his amazing staff last January. We moved here from South Florida with Our terminally ill Shih Tzu Gucci. Dr . Russell met her once before the end came one month later. He and his staff made her passing as gentle as if he Had been her Dr. all her life. They treated us like family. Fast forward 7 months. Little TIGER LILLY our new puppy has become part of our family. Today she greeted Dr . Russell, Marty & , Mackenzie like part of her new family! After several years of searching for the veterinarian that listened and understood my concerns, finally Dr. Russell was the one. I was a vet tech who worked for three of the most amazing veterinarians in Rockledge and was frustrated after moving to NE Florida. Note: I have not worked on the industry for almost 20 years. I got the feeling that the bottom line was more important than the animals that were patients. Dr. Russell truly loves his job. It's like visiting a neighbor when you go to the clinic. He remembers everything about you and keeps me up to date on his children. He has gotten my fur babies through some rough diseases, by keeping them comfortable and educating me on the best things I could do for them at home to improve their quality of life. My 13 year old shepherd is a great example. She was having age related pain and once I started actually listening and took Dr. Russell's advice, what I witnessed was amazing. Thank you Dr. Russell!

Left messages on a voicemail that did not say that we even reached the right place but only no one at that extension was available. No call back. Fortunately she made it through the night. We made it to a responsible vet who lovingly helped her cross "Rainbow Bridge".

Dr. Russell took my cat in when my regular vet was unavailable, due to medical emergency. He calmly assured us he would take care of her and do his best to help her feel better, explaining what was wrong with straightforward terms and paperwork that gave detailed information on the problem. He and the staff made sure she would feel better quickly, and the vet techs took the time to give detailed instructions on the medicines and follow up care. She is now feeling so much better, she's even back to stalking lizards in the porch!

I had an emergency the other day and my normal vet was closed for the afternoon. I needed someone to look at our dog ASAP. I called here and they immediately took us in. The staff and the vet were warm and welcoming. They addressed our concerns and understood our fear. They Examined our pet explained to us what was happen and administered twi shots. An then advised us if things didn't look better in a few days we should go to our normal vet for X-rays. Wow we were extremely impressed and would highly recommend them to others... thank you

There are so many places you can take your pet for treatments in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas, it is a pleasure to find an office that takes care of the people, the pets and the staff as well as Animal Medical Clinic does at this location. I only wish Dr. Kevin had a place closer to where we live in Avondale. Dr. Kevin gets it and takes care of his clients as well as the pets. He has great facilities and is one of the nicest people you will meet who will just sit with you and talk WITH you about your pet. It is a business first, but nice to see that he has great bedside manners and understands that people want the best for their pets. I recommend Dr. Kevin and this staff!

After going to our regular vet for 23+ years (and being very happy) we were referred to AMC/Dr. Russell for our bulldogs tail amputation. From the first consultation to surgery we knew our baby was in the best hands possible. Every single member of this staff is top notch. Our only constraint for regular vet care is he is 45 to 60 mins away, but for anything else our babies will be at AMC.

I needed to see a cat vet asap, and was given an appt. right away. Dr. Hicks evaluated my cat Basil, prescribed a treatment, and gave me much useful information, including that the ideal day to remove puppies from their mums is day 49. Who knew? I left the clinic only to discover after I got home that I had forgotten to take the prescription from the desk. The receptionist called me, said she lived near me, and BROUGHT the drugs to my house! This was awesome customer service. Meeting Dr. Hicks was a pleasure, and Cheryl goes above and beyond the call of duty. Bravo all.

Terrible customer service! I stood in the lobby for several minutes in front of two receptionists before one asked if they could help me. The assistant (although I have no idea what her job was since she never told me) seemed bitter and like she disliked her job and also was not very knowledgeable. The vet (again I'm only assuming he was a vet because he never introduced himself) was friendly but seemed like he was in a hurry to get me out of the office. Upon leaving I made an appointment for three weeks later, which I forgot I made, and never received a reminder phone call the day before, however, I did get a phone call telling me I missed my appointment. If the office staff is this unorganized and unfriendly, I can't imagine how sub par their actual medical abilities are. I will not be going back to this vet!
