I took my fourth Labrador Retriever here and wish They were around when I had my first 25 years ago!!!  From the minute you arrive ( they have a welcoming board out on the front entry welcoming there first time pets) you felt more at home.  Zeke has a routing neuter which they kept me up to date vis text throughout the procedure and a follow call the next day. Deby and Dr B were very informative and caring..I am going to pass on a recommendation Dr B. Mentioned.  Going thru more than one canine surgery, I was not looking forward to the "cone of shame".... you now the slobber, banging into your legs, wall clanging and the absolute feel of embarrassment in public!!!  Google the SURGICOAT! !!!  Didn't have to use the cone at all and the incision was fine ( had our follow up today). Amazing place. They are always very friendly and they remember your pets. We recently had to put one of our pets down and even though it was heart wrenching for us, they made every step perfect. They gave me unlimited time with my cat before and after and even brought him a soft blanket and ice cream. They also had a beautiful area outside to spend time with your pet during the process. All who work there are very nice and helpful, even in areas that have nothing to do with my fur baby. They didn't try to get me to give him expensive treatments and gave me reasonable options to prevent illness in the future. They were also understanding and kind towards my 2 year old daughter, which really goes a long way when others have been very short and aggravated when you bring a toddler with you. This is the best animal hospital I’ve gone to! Dr. Bell is truly one of kind and you can see how much she cares about your furry babies! We had to put our family dog down last year and the staff and doctor were so patient and kind while we were having a hard time saying goodbye to our girl. We were not going to write this review but felt we should warn people. Our dog was sick and we scheduled an appointment saw Dr Sims, she did not listen to us and told us our dog was dying, needed IV but had to be out of there office by 2 because they were closing. 3 different people talked to us about the cost but no one about the dog, the recommended an emergency vet (I assume they get a kickback) packed our dog up and told us to get her before 2. They told us they contacted the new vet and sent records, they had not and did not. They charged more for 6 hour of care that the other 2 vets have charged for 24 hours, this is not a place that cares about your pets they care about money and that is all. I spoke with the office about this and got, oh that should not have happened. If the doctor had listened to us she would have found our dog was bitten by a snake in the paw and saved our dog 72 hours of pain and us thousands of dollars. Also if you notice this vet has several fake positive reviews posted be careful. UPDATE- THE RESPONSE from the owner is not true, they did not recommend a 24 care they pushed us to a gross over night and weekend care, assuming we would come back to them after the weekend. Worse than the poor vet and care this fake response trying to create a false representation of a caring organization. Read Less

My dog is an older guy and has seen lots of vets as we travel a lot.  This place was really really great.  The vet sat on the floor with him for at least 10 minutes observing what he was doing at his level.  They did tests and were just very upfront and honest.  I would go back anytime I needed a vet I could trust. I have been consistently impressed with Dr. Bell and her staff. As a pet parent and a member of a rescue group, we've been to see Dr. Bell on numerous occasion, from routine checkups to extremely difficult surgeries. She's extremely intelligent, and her treatment and recommendations have been right on the mark every time. She's done multiple surgeries for our rescue, including FHO, amputation, and gunshot wounds. I have a very skiddish lab, she was a stray. I can't get her through the door of a vet. Dr. Bell and her technician saw Bella outside in the parking lot and examined her as she sat in my van. Dr. Bell commented on how normal her heart rate was and how rapid it had been when seen in the office. Went here this morning for the first time as my usual vet is much farther from my home. My big fur baby Kujo got into something in the yard and was covered in welts and his face was swelling fast. We called them and they took him in immediately. By the time we got there his tongue was turning purple. Everyone was very nice and they worked quickly to get the swelling down and help keep him calm. Will definitely be making this my new vet! Thank you to everyone that helped make my baby better! My pup Loosey and I recently moved back to St. Augustine after several years in Chicago. We loved our vet office in Chicago and I was worried we wouldn't be able to find a place here that we could love just as much. On our first visit, I brought my girl Loo in to have a few masses examined and I immediately felt at ease. Almost immediately, Dr. Parker sat down on the floor so Loo could say hello. When I expressed my concerns about two particular growths that were worrying me, she didn't dismiss or ignore me. I know I'm not a vet but I know my pup and appreciated that she listened, unlike other vets we tried out before Murabella. She did a thorough examination and found a few more masses that other vets had missed. After our first visit, I felt very comfortable with them performing surgery on Loo. While we had agreed to remove only a few of the masses, Dr. Parker called me right before surgery to ask if she could remove them all, including one that was smaller and hadn't necessarily caught my attention, and didn't try to charge me more. I'm so thankful she did because it turned out not to be benign. If it wasn't for Dr. Parker truly caring about Loosey, I might not have known the extent and seriousness of Loo's tumors! When Loo was ready to be picked up after surgery, they even sent me a text and a picture of her, which of course I loved! Over the next several weeks we were in and out of the vet because Loo kept finding ways to open her stitches. They could tell how stressed and concerned I was and were SO helpful and patient every time we were there. On one of our visits, we got to meet Dr. Bell too. She was equally as kind, thoughtful and compassionate. Today is Loosey's first official day without her cone of shame and stitches and we couldn't have made it through it all without Murabella's care and support. They are definitely some of the most caring and considerate vets and animal lovers I've met and I will recommend them to everyone I know!Read Less

I brought my beloved labradoodle there (we love the pet spa next door). The staff was nice enough but the Dr. Bell was rude and talked down to me. I am struggling financially and they only provided one option which was surgery and a lengthy hospital stay. Even after i begged for a another option. Her treatment would cost in upwards of $900. In tears from the way I was treated... and the thought of losing my pet... I went for a second opinion. I am happy to say that Zoey is recovering now. I was offered a less invasive form (and less costly) treatment to save her life and she is on the mend. I will never be back. They educate patients and caregivers over choices and provide options that are best for the whole family. We had an awful experience with the MuraBella Animal Hospital. Our dog had a small growth (Approx. 1 cm wide) on the back of his paw. We brought him into the MuraBella Animal Hospital to have it removed. The growth was removed and we were instructed to keep the cone on him so that he could not bite at the stitches that were inserted, which we did. When we took our dog home his stitches opened up. The problem lies with the way the MuraBella Animal Hospital handled the opening of the stitches. When we brought him back into the office they re-stitched the wound and never put a bandage on it. The very next day, the wound opened up again. At this time the wound looked a lot worse and we were concerned about an infection. We went back in and Dr. Bell said she was going to need to put staples in. Dr. Bell put the staples in without numbing the area or cleaning the wound. Fearful of an infection and more problems down the road, we immediately went to another veterinarian office for a second opinion. At the new veterinarian office, they had to remove all of the stitches and staples and treat the dog for an infected wound. The 1 cm growth at this point had escalated to a 5 cm open wound with an infection so bad that the tissue was thin and stretched out. Therefore, they were not able to put any stitches back on. We contacted the MuraBella Animal Hospital to express our findings and concerns and we were told they stand by their ethics, values and decisions of how they treated our dog. Our 11 month old dog will now have a large scar that will never go away. I€m so thankful that we went and got a second opinion because had the new doctor not addressed the infection, the damage would have been even more severe than it already was. In closing, we will never return to the MuraBella Animal Hospital and we strongly encourage you to do your research before choosing the MuraBella Animal Hospital. Read Less

I dont even know where to start. When it comes to generosity, patience, and overall compassion for animals Murabella is the place. I recently moved to florida and found a stray puppy in the street. After days of coaxing her to approach me, she finally ran right to me. I took her to murabella to scan her for a chip, which she did not have, and adopted her on the spot. Boulder (the pup), was extremely fearful of anything and everyone. Dr. Bell and the staff at Murabella suggested we take her outside for her visit. We sat on the steps for an HOUR while dr. Bell and her assistant fed boulder treats and tried to reassure her of their presence while administering her medications. Ivw never been so blown away about a vet office before. Nor have I ever had the fantastic services of a vet such as murabella before. Today was Boulders second visit and although she is still fearful, she actually let dr bell pet her and examine her with only a few barks and growls. Im so thankful to have such a friendly and comforting experience each and every time we visit. And the fact that they cater to my dogs needs socially and physically is fantastic. Murabella Animal Hospital always provides the most attentive care to my Chihuahua, Yoda. I have been in several times for ear infections and for his check-ups. The doctors and assistants are always very warm and kind. They have also price-matched on medication for Yoda, such as Trifexis, and always help me if I have trouble getting him to swallow his pills. I also had his microchip done during their "March Microchip Madness" sale; it was a relief and another testament to their customer service and honesty when I received my receipt with no hidden charges or tomfoolery, as I know that procedure is typically much more expensive than I paid. About two weeks ago, my mom and stepdad had their lab/shepherd mix, Jake, put to sleep. My family called Murabella Animal Hospital in the morning and set up an appointment for 9:30. When Jake started acting more in pain shortly therafter, they called again and told the hospital, and the staff made immediate availability to bring Jake in to be euthanized. We are infinitely appreciative of their attentiveness and compassion, and my family bawled their eyes out when they saw that not only did they receive Jake's ashes after cremation, but also a lock of hair, as well as a copy of the Rainbow Bridge poem. Simply OUTSTANGING...!!!! Where do I begin, this practice is top notch hands down. Their staff is outstanding, Dr. Bell and Dr. Parker are absolutely tremendous and are very hands on. We received the best care that we could've asked for. Our case was an extremely challenging one to say the least. Each and every person at this practice has a loving caring bedside manner like no other. We were dealing with an extremely sick large lab, Baby Sandy. They would call and check on us every step of the way between blood tests, x-rays, a plasma infusion, syringes, fluid bags, you name it we chose to do it in order to try and save our baby. They were behind us all the way, I will say they gave us a reality check when things started turning in the other direction. They are open, honest and passionate about what they do and it shows.
