Our goal is to provide excellent, warm, friendly, compassionate care, and life-long health for your pet. We look forward to welcoming you and your four-legged friends to our pet care family.
We have an exceptional staff consisting of a talented, experienced doctor and support team with particular interests in many aspects of pet care. Our family-oriented team is committed to providing you with state of the art veterinary care while maintaining a warm, friendly, attentive atmosphere of respect, support, and continuing education.
We offer a complete range of veterinary services, including rotating three-year vaccinations, heartworm and flea treatment and prevention, daytime emergency care, routine medical, surgical, including laser surgery, and dental services. We also offer chronic pain and arthritis therapy, an effective weight control program, hospitalization, critical care, advanced surgeries, carbon dioxide laser surgery, digital x-rays, PennHip x-rays and in-house blood testing.

I have been a loyal customer since they opened for almost 10 years. Our puppy started going there and at first was pleased and felt staff was thorough. Last Summer I called because we going on vacation and needed to have all vaccination and nails trimming. I brought my pet at correct appointment time and after being told over the phone everything could be done when I arrived I was told I would have to come back for nails. Almost missed our booked vacation. This year regular checkup onto of some other concerns I asked over the phone if everything can be done and was assured that yes. We can do a check up vaccination and nails. Charged me for an extra visit 2 years in a row. Then charged me for medication for my pet that may or may not work.I guess when yuh pu build a multi million dollar facility then you have to start charging more and more. If you have tons of money and like overpaying this is the right place. Check your receipts for extra charges.This was the job they did to our family members.

I just can't say enough good things about Palencia Pet Clinic. Everything about this clinic is top notch, from the staff to the cleanliness of the office. They have gone out of their way to accommodate my very anxious rescue lab, and have been so patient and understanding. I'm so thankful for them, and definitely recommend for any pet owner!

Excellent service. Knowledgeable, friendly and clean. Dr Vencil immediately diagnosed my Doxie’s serious condition of an enlarged heart due to valve prolapse. Another vet had erroneously been treating her for acid reflux for months with no improvement. I was in search of answers when I saw an excellent review for their office. I called and they got me in the next day. They did the X-rays that should have been done months before. I’m so thankful to him and his staff for buying me more time with her and making her more comfortable even though it can’t be reversed. She is 15 years old. Highly recommend them!❤️🐾

Dr Veling and Dr Vencil are first class vets. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable, but you can tell that they really care about their patients and their owners. Dr. Vencil and his staff are amazing! My dog had an allergic reaction during a routine dental procedure and the office went above and beyond to make sure he was feeling better. Dr. Vencil called and texted even on Christmas day to see how our dog was doing. I can't say enough good things about this practice! Highly recommend!!

Dr. Pete and his staff are the best. They make you feel like they love your pet just as much as you do. I had a rough go with my dog over the past year and I couldn't ask for a better vet! I can't thank them enough for everything. From the office visits, to check-ups, medicine, I always felt like my dog was important. While I had to say good-bye yesterday, Dr. Pete and Megan were more than comforting. Thank you!!!!! You are blessing to me and all the animals you care for.

What a great experience!!! I have had dogs for 15 years, and just decided to try Palencia Pet Clinic since they sponsor the local school. My only regret is that I didn't start going sooner. The doctor was so patient and answered all my questions. He even involved my children that came along for the appointment. I would recommend this office to all my friends and family without any hesitation.

I was so happy to have such a great experience at the vet with my "foster" dog, Jasmine. The vet on call for the regular vet was awesome--Dr. Mosley. She was so understanding of real life with a dog. I felt very comfortable with all the staff and they did a great job! And no one tried to up-sell me on any products that I didn't need...very trustworthy in my book.

I've been with Palencia Pet Clinic since I moved to St. Augustine a little over 2 years ago. Dr. Peter has been my favorite vet. Unfortunately, we just live too far from the clinic to continue using this practice. I'm sad to be leaving. A little more than a year ago, my dog temporarily dislocated her hip and it was also discovered she has a floating patella condition common in her breed. Instead of suggesting expensive surgery, the doctor recommended Tiffany get adequate exercise and lessen her diet so she could lose 1/2 a pound. (Tiffany is a teacup breed and should be under 7 lbs). I was very thankful the doctor showed a genuine concern for my dog's well being and suggested a health change rather than a surgical one. Tiffany is doing great and has no sign of either issue. The entire staff at Palencia Pet Clinic has been wonderful. Thank you for everything!

Excellent service. Knowledgeable, friendly and clean. Dr Vencil immediately diagnosed my Doxie’s serious condition of an enlarged heart due to valve prolapse. Another vet had erroneously been treating her for acid reflux for months with no improvement. I was in search of answers when I saw an excellent review for their office. What a great experience!!! I have had dogs for 15 years, and just decided to try Palencia Pet Clinic since they sponsor the local school. My only regret is that I didn't start going sooner. The doctor was so patient and answered all my questions. He even involved my children that came along for the appointment. I would recommend this office to all my friends and family without any hesitation.

Unfortunately, we just live too far from the clinic to continue using this practice. I'm sad to be leaving. A little more than a year ago, my dog temporarily dislocated her hip and it was also discovered she has a floating patella condition common in her breed.
