HUGE RAVE!!!! I believe in giving credit where credit is due. Dr Jack Schmidt, Alan and his staff are AMAZING. We have 6 cats (yes we are the crazy cat people) and he has managed to save not one but two of my fur babies. One of them twice. One accidentally got out and was attacked by what we believe was a raccoon. Dr Jack had to shave him in so many places he looked like he had the mange. 53 stitches and 4 trips later he is back to his normal self. Most recently we took in two strays. Ace and Spade were approximately 5 to six weeks old when one of our other rescues Harvey led us to them. We were having trouble catching them and I called Dr Jack's office and they helped me catch them. They were evidently just thrown out of a vehicle because poor Spade was suffering from malnutrition, had a healing broken bone and we thought she wouldn't survive. Dr Jack brought her back. Her sibling who was probably traumatized still will not let us hold her, with their help at the office Ace will actually come to us now. Which leads me to the second time he saved her. She got out when we were having some work done on the house...she was probably hit by a car. Her little broken bones he took care of with 6 laser treatments. They loved on her as much as we do. Dr. Jack and his staff are of the most compassionate people I know, when it comes to dealing with sick and injured animals. Both he and his staff treat every patient that comes into the office like they are their own pets. When it comes to the care of animals they will do everything they can to ensure that every pet is treated the way they would treat their own pets. I am so happy that my Mother chose this place 20 years ago and has continued to be a loyal customer of Dr Jacks. Our sweet beagle, Princess Leia) tore her ACL while we were visiting and we took her to St. Augustine Animal Clinic. They were so caring and since we were leaving for home in a week they helped us manage her pain until we could get home and take her in for surgery. We first took our border collie to Dr. Schmidt while visiting St. Augustine. Then, after we moved here permanently two years ago, we chose Dr Schmidt as our Vet. We chose him even though we pass three Veterinary clinics on the way to his office!  He's a pro and will take care of your furry family member like they are old friends. He diagnosed and recommended a conservative treatment plan for a a heart condition our dog has that our old Vet had left undiagnosed and untreated. The office staff has been exceptional and that's priceless and a rarity today. I've had dogs and cats all my life and I've met plenty of Veterinary docs- Dr Jack Schmidt is one of the best. They made such a heartbreaking ordeal bearable; God bless the entire wonderful staff. Having just relocated, and had a less positive experience at another location, I went into the office without my very sick 18year old cat to check it out, since they were around the corner. Terry was so kind and helpful, I felt good about working with them. It is a small, warm and kind practice. We worked mostly with Dr. Lee, who was exceptional. They helped me keep down costs, while understanding that we were doing everything to keep Reggie going. Dr. Jack and his staff have been so kind to our family over the last few months. Highs and lows. Dr. Jack sweetly helped us carry our buddy Marley over to the other side with dignity and care. His staff, particularly Terry was super helpful as well. After a time of grieving, we procured a new puppy, a full breed Old English Sheepdog. At nine weeks the puppy almost died, very sad. Dr. Jack was with us day to day and helped us to have a wonderfully healthy Hudson who is now almost 50 pounds at 5 months old! Kindness and compassion, very much appreciated and highly recommended! Dr. Jack has been our vet since he started his practice here. The staff has always been professional yet kind and compassionate. Today when I called, I was told that Jack had a family commitment and was leaving the office "shortly". I explained that our dog, Rajah, seemed to be in a life threatening crisis, and I was told to bring her right in. Jack waited for me to get there, examined Rajah and we discussed the options. He never gave any indication that he had somewhere else to be. Jack and the staff never tried to rush me into making a decision and when it was made they were all very supportive. Really love this animal clinic! The staff and vets are very knowledgeable, friendly, and compassionate. All personnel are really interested in the welfare of each animal that comes through their doors. I took my dog here today for the first time. I will NEVER go back. The senior tech was the first person I saw he never introduced himself or acknowledged my dog when he put us in a room, he just looked at his sheet to see what shots he needed to prepare. The reason I know he was the senior tech is because when the next person came in and did not introduce himself either I asked which one was the doctor and he stated he was and then told me the first guy was the head tech. Neither interacted with my dog or called her by her name... the tech was all about getting the shots and never once spoke to my dog. The doctor never looked in her mouth or checked her eyes, he did look in her ears for 2 seconds. He quickly touched most of her body with his hands. He never came back in the room to give me my test results. He never discussed what type of heartworm meds I may need. He never ask if I wanted the flu shot . It was my first visit there and there was NO effort made to get to know my pet. When the young girl brought my dog back she could see I was upset and asked if everything was ok I explained my dissatisfaction and she left the room . I over heard the young girl explaining to the doctor my concern and then I heard him ask the if she wanted him to "deal with it" I did tell the young girl that the walls were thin and I heard what he said. I can not imagine why anyone that cared for their pet would ever return.... NEVER AGAIN......Read Less

I switched over from a more expensive vet in town... The staff was friendly, caring, and took time to ask if I had questions, as well as explain things to me. It was evident they care about their customers and their pets. The rates were lower than my former vet,and the service was very good. I also thought the exam and discussion about my dogs was more thorough than at the former vet as well.
