You will not find any other vet that cares more than Dr. Claunch! He is such a kind man and his smile shows how much he truly cares about the animals he cares for. Dr Claunch and his staff are excellent! The staff are accommodating, understanding & helpful, and Dr. Claunch is honest and compassionate about your pet's situation. His rates are reasonable and appropriate for the services he provides. Not extravagant compared to some other outfits in the area. Moreover, Dr. Claunch doesn't push for unnecessary procedures, and he will give you an honest, rational explanation of what to expect and the options for your pet's situation. We have/had two giatric pets. One recently passed away, but he was ill for over a year before finally passing. We owe that extra year we had with our loved one to Dr Claunch and his staff! I initially came to Dr. Claunch upon recommendation from my neighbor that they had a very reasonable price for dental cleanings which my greyhound desperately needed at the time.  I was and still am very happy with Dr. Claunch and his staff.  They have always been very personable and professional and taken good care of my 3 dogs.  One of my greyhounds was previously very scared at my former vet (she would yelp and pee herself) but when I took her to Dr. Claunch she was much more relaxed.  Between the 3 dogs and their various needs I've been to his office many many times, and I'm always confident in the care they receive.  An added bonus:  As someone previously mentioned, on top of being a good doctor he is also the best nail-trimmer I've ever seen! We have brought our dogs to Dr. Claunch since we moved to the area over 10 years ago. He is excellent with big dogs. He is patient during exams and when cutting their nails, especially since my big boy really hated his nails cut and would squirm and wiggle like crazy. Dr. Claunch is old-school and quick to offer options that might cost less money if he feels they will do the job. But he is also an excellent surgeon, who removed several growths on my dog's face and body because they were in danger of rupture due to size. The incisions were as small as possible and he provided good follow-up care so I felt I knew what to expect in terms of recuperation time. The office staff are kind and caring. They always recognized and greeted my dogs after a visit or two. They were also very considerate after the euthanasia of my last dog- they even sent me a condolence card in the mail shortly after. My cat got an abscess due to a bite on his chest instead of putting a regular drain in they used an old school technique which ended up opening the wound even more causing them to have to do a surgery on him which left him with more than 18 staples running down his chest they did not give us antibiotics after his surgery in fact when I brought him in a few days before his surgery to have him looked at I asked shouldn't he be on some antibiotics at this point I was ready to give him my child's amoxicillin when I told him this he said yeah go ahead and give him your child's amoxicillin instead of supplying me with clavamox or another antibiotics made for Animal when my husband asked the doctor after picking him up from his surgery is there anything we need to do should he be on antibiotics they said just keep him in the house a week and a half later I am bringing him to the emergency vet to have an emergency surgery and all I have to say is if you look up the words vague and aloof in the dictionary you will find a picture of this veterinarian I chose him because he was in my neighborhood now I know why most of the people with pets in my neighborhood go to other veterinarians if you want your animal to look like dr. Extremely unhappy with Claunch.  Called them yesterday (19 June 2015) after they were recommended by a friend.  I am new to the state of Florida, moved here from Texas a month ago.  My love and best canine furry family is an older dog, 15 yo) and her body is ravaged with tumors.  We had been on a regimen to help her but these tumors are too many and too far advanced.  The tumors in her neck and throat have now overwhelmed her respiratory system and she is now suffering.  When I called this clinic I was placed on hold for well over 5 minutes.  When I finally spoke with the lady on the phone, I explained my situation through my tears and informed her that as difficult as it was, my dog needed to be put to sleep and was again asked to hold.  After almost 10 full minutes this lady at the clinic informed me that "they didn't do that here"!!  WTH??!!  They don't help when a dog is in pain and needs help??!!  How insensitive and horrible this was for me!!  It's hard enough to make this decision but then to get this kind of response??  I hope this place gets 10 times the karma it gave out yesterday!  I am a mess and no closer to helping my pup..............
