Our senior dog needed follow up after an ER visit with another clinic (awesome service also). His schedule was booked for a few days, when we called his office. Non the less, I reached out via yelp because of the referral and great reviews. Dr. Ansara responded right away to triage and ask questions, was willing to accommodate us in his first clinic day that week.  Fortunately my dogs eye was healing and on the right track. The Best Vet that we ever encounter. Dr. Carl Ansara  is kind , patient , & gentle to my fur babies. The staffs , they are amazing ! They answer all questions patiently , Assist you if you have concern , they even give you suggestion on do it yourself treatment IF the treatment is too costly for us. I have been going to Dr Ansara for about 3 years now. I trust in his care for my westie and I feel he doesn't try to give me treatment that my dog doesn't need. I have been going here for many years and the staff here is always professional, kind and polite.  They go above and beyond. Just this past weekend I brought in my Lyla with no call or appointment and Dr. Carl Ansara out of his busy schedule made time to see her. Today I'm giving my review, yesterday I was unconsolable! Yesterday my little boy sphynx LeStat de Lion Lost his life to FIP. A uncurable disease. I had to make the difficult decision to give his soul rest. I was completely scared for what to expect. Dr Karl Ansara and the whole staff was wonderful, they gave us plenty of time to say goodbye, explained everything in detail. They had so much compassion, and understanding of me and my family's heart ache. I truly felt it hurts him too. My breeder comes here and I trust him, it's a bit of a distance to drive for us but it is well worth the drive giving my baby the best. Thank you Dr. Karl to you and your staff for making one of the hardest things in my life just a little bit easier.. I had to take my baby girl, Black Beauty, my kitty to see a Vet. She wasn't feeling good and really needed someone who would really take care of her. Dr. Ansara came HIGHLY recommended!!!! I do not regret for one moment taking her to see him. He is very compassionate, understanding and knowledgeable. He gave me options for her treatment and understands that as pet parents, we are all not swimming in the money department. He did suggest, for what I could afford, a simple, yet effective treatment for her. And 3 days later she is getting much, much better!!! I am so glad to have found Dr Carl Ensara. What a great doctor, he took the time out of his Saturday in the afternoon and late night to meet him at his animal hospital to help me with my baby Polly who wasn't able to control her diarrhea. He took some blood work and X-rays late night to rule out the worse case and give me piece of mind. He is a genuine caring Doctor and I highly recommend him. Cost was reasonable considering all that he had done for me on a Saturday afternoon and late Saturday night. Don't hesitate bringing you baby here you will not regret it. I am so blessed to have met the most professional and kind hearted doctor Dr. Carl Ansara ! He really really cares about our loved animals ! He is not out to just be a bloodsucker and take your money! He takes of my dogs as if they were his own. His staff is amazing and he will always work out a payment plan if you are short on money. My Tinkerbell has been going there for 10 yrs and just had surgery to remove cysts from her toe. And what an incredible job Dr Carl has done! I have to say that from the moment I walked in to Animal Hospital of University Drive, I was treated with kindness and welcomed in! I was referred to AHUD by my Greyhound Rescue group Friends of Greyhounds. #adoptdontshopMy greyhound, Raj C., had some pretty funky breath and from what I could see, I suspected he was going to lose a tooth or two. Greyhounds are quite sensitive to anesthesia, so I opted to drive up since Dr Ansura and his staff have so much experience with greyhounds. I was glad I chose to come here as he did indeed have to have 3 teeth removed. I was quite comforted by the fact that they had treated so many greys from our rescue group. Jean (sp?) spoke with me before the procedure and let me know what to expect. I was still a nervous Mom, but knew my boy was in good hands. As soon as the procedure was completed, she gave me a call and let me know how he was doing and that he was just starting to wake up. I really appreciated the the report on how he did, an explanation of what happened (he lost 3 small teeth) and what to expect as he recovered. I was also glad to find out that they were able to really clean up his mouth and save the rest of his larger teeth! When I returned to pick up Raj, the front desk ladies were just as awesome as before. I highly recommend AHUD for any greyhound care, or any dental service for your pup. I'm sure their other services are excellent as well. It was the best possible experience for such a worrying Mom like me. I will definitely return for any of Raj's dental needs! Read Less

We found Dr. Carl Ansara thru Yelp, we could not be more pleased! Our vet of 6 years sold the company, plantation animal hospital, and all the vets scattered to new businesses too far from me. I tried Broward animal hospital and literally got in screaming matches with the vets because of bulls*%# testing! I have 15 years of history working as a vet tech. I know about the industry.Dr. Ansara actually listened to my concerns with my 2 cats and 2 dogs. Both babies and seniors combined. His approach was to give me all the options and I chose what treatment they got. As for the staff, they have all been kind and welcoming to us. They love up on or babies the minute we walk in!For all those people out there complaining about this vet hospital I would bet you didn't ask the right questions, expected someone to care for your responsibility or assumed they would pay for it. Love Dr. Ansara and the staff at Animal Hospital of University Drive. Were referred to this vet through our breeder and are very pleased. We have tried several other vets in South Florida with our other dogs and been unhappy. Dr. Ansara actually spends time talking to you and walking you through everything he is doing. I've been bringing my two dogs in here since September 2016 when we relocated to the Fort Lauderdale area.Probably half of my appointments ran up to half hour late, which is an inconvenience.My dog had a mites issue, which was not properly diagnosed and required multiple visits.The vets were pleasant.  The one vet tech is an absolute sweetheart and you can tell she loves animals, she's the petite lady (Brenda?).I've been a good client, I buy the medicines here to support the business instead of buying them online from cheaper retailers.The biggest reason for the low ratings is a situation I ran into with boarding my dog.I booked a reservation for Memorial Day weekend.  I know the staff in here and who I am talking to on the phone since I have been in here so many times.  I made the reservation to drop the dog off on Friday between 8:30-11:30 (their required drop off hours, not mine).  At the time of the initial phone call, I told them I would pick the dog up on Monday, I was told it had to be by 6:30 PM.I do realize it's a holiday, but I've volunteered at dog rescues in California and a staff member was always on premise 24/7 since you have to worry about the safety of the animals in the event of an emergency.So my husband and I went to drop the dog off on 5/26 (Friday).  They asked when I was picking him up, the girl at the front desk laughed in my face and told me they were closed because it's a holiday.  We would have to pay an extra night and pick him up on Tuesday.  My husband later commented to me that he found this behavior to be somewhat rude.Now this is really concerning to me, but we left the dog.  We got in the car to leave and soon realized we would not be able to pick him up Tuesday.We had to return back to get him since we can't get him on Tuesday.  I inquired about why I couldn't get him on Monday.  I mean wouldn't you assume someone would be in the building 24/7 since they are caring for people's animals.  I left under the assumption that someone is not there 24/7.  You might want to get more clarification on this if you are going to board your animal here.  I personally wouldn't leave my pet in a place where someone is not always there, again I can't say this is 100% the case, but it sounds like it from what I was told by the girl at the desk today.Anyway, I'm done coming to this vet.  I've probably spent at least $1,000 here for my 2 animals.  I'll be taking my business someplace else.  I'm not going to deal with this rude treatment when I'm spending substantial amounts of money.***Edited 5/29/17 to reply to the response below:***Your response that Cujo was seen ONLY on 2/9/17 for "suspect allergies" & mites were quickly diagnosed is incorrect.  He was seen on 9/10/16, 12/8/16 and on 1/19/17 for the "suspect allergies."  He was originally brought in due to obsessive paw licking and tail chewing, which was eventually diagnosed on the 4th visit for this issue on 2/9/17.  This was finally settled with a tail skin scrape and when your lab/vet tech (older knowledgeable woman with glasses-don't know here name) looked under the microscope and knew immediately what it was.  She showed me under the microscope and I went home to look at it on Google, I 100% agree with her that this was the issue and the Bravecto treated it.  I wanted to clarify that the skin allergy was what I was calling a misdiagnosis.  He does not appear to have any allergies and is not on any special diet.  The bottom line is that I was told incorrect info on the phone about being able to pick my dog Teddy up on Memorial Day. I think it's a fair and reasonable expectation that one could pick up a dog being boarded on that date that I was told I could pick him up on. The situation on Friday would have been received a lot better without the sarcasm and some positive attitude from your front desk staff. Read Less

I have known Dr. Carl Ansara since 2006. He is an absolute gem. So compassionate, friendly, intelligent, and talented at what he does. The staff is great too, friendly, gentle with the animals, and knowledgeable. Carl's facility is immaculate, up to date, and fully equipped. I trust him with all my fur babies 100%. This doctor is the best in the area, and the cheapest. No need to go anywhere else. My family and I are so grateful for them saving our dog. Look no more if you are searching for a new place to take your pet! I was terrified as I researched for a new veterinarian then and now I am SO happy! My furbaby is healthy! The cyst is benign! Dr. Carl & his staff are amazing! Plus they are funny & caring too! I was put at ease right away! Even the other clients were friendly & talkative! Now be prepared to wait because this place can get busy but to me it was worth every extra minute. I take my three Golden Retrievers to the Animal Hospital at University Drive so they can receive the best possible care to stay healthy and happy. Dr. Ansara and his staff have been kind, helpful, and accommodating every time I called or brought my dogs in. I appreciated having a veterinarian who cared about our dogs to maintain their overall health but, when my youngest dog was in a life-threatening situation, I dont know what we would have done without Dr. Carl Ansara and his extraordinary staff. Even though I contacted his office on a Sunday, Dr. Ansara was immediately available to provide direction, support, and advice to save our young dogs life. I had my first visit to this hospital today. I fell in Love and now my poodle has a new doctors office. From the moment I walked in the young ladies at the front were very kinda and welcoming. Alisa helped me fill my client form out and answered all my questions I had about insurance and possible new products. She was such a sweet girl and make me feel welcomed to the office. The Doctor was just amazing and took his time with me and I never rushed, like you would at some other places. Overall my experience was a great one starting from when I walked through the doors. Have to say that this office and staff are WONDERFUL! After almost being COMPLETELY ripped off by another vet (COCO PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL OF CORAL SPRINGS- TERRIBLE) we came her after a referral from a friend. They did surgery on my daughters dog for LITERALLY HALF THE PRICE OF the other vet and everything turned out wonderful. We are not talking of a few dollars savings. It was a $600 savings! Dr. Ansara has taken care of our three dogs for about five years now and we love him. The staff is friendly, professional and caring, and the hospital prices are affordable. Dr. Ansara is very knowledgeable and thorough, and he is always in a good mood.
