Having no luck with other veterinarians in the past, I was BLOWN AWAY when I came to Welleby. Firstly the receptionist, Erica, already had me sold with her warm and engaging personality. She kept the office clean and meticulous and it was entirely evident that she ran a tight ship. As if that wasn't great enough, the vet tech was kind and gentle with my terrified dog and so sharp and very reassuring that we were in good hands. Then our vet came, and she is just everything anyone can look for in a medical professional. She is brilliant and thorough and all around incredibly knowledgeable in regards to all aspects of pet care and wellness. They provided excellent and timely service, made sure I understood what was wrong with my pup and ensured we were all taken care of and addressed all of my concerns. I'm so happy and lucky to have stumbled upon this veterinarian office because I know my dog will be getting his best treatment here - & the prices for their service are more than reasonable. My 2 puggles needed major dental work and they were SO very taken care of at Welleby. I had no idea it was possible for their teeth to look so bright and shiny and their breath to be so significantly improved. They were given such wonderful care and the doctor was extremely patient with all of my questions. They went above and beyond for my fur babies and they left with mouths so fresh- I did not know it was possible to remove the amount of tartar and plaque they had since they are 9 years old. Brought my sick bird here about 2 weeks ago and while the office is beautiful, staff and vet were great and nice I am sad to say that my bird did not make it and died 3 days later. While i appreciate the effort the vet made i feel it was distasteful of them to still sell me and charge me for medication for my bird if they knew the probability of him surviving was low (he didn’t even get to finish the medication treatment) i did some research on the bird but can’t say that I’m fully educated on this specific breed so i was heavily relying on the vets advice. I’m a single mom and with the holidays around the corner this was somewhat of a big hit for me. I did want to try everything possible to save my bird but if they would have been honest and told me that realistically at this point nothing would help they would have saved me the money i spent on the medication which was not cheap to me and i could have mentally prepared my young son and myself for our pets death. The best vet ever. Been going here for year's. My Yorkie had cancer and had to be rushed to that clinic in Cooper City at night. They suggested put him down. I said oh no, 2nd opinion. Transferring him to my vet. They operated been a year. He's 13 acts like a puppy now. Had cancer on gallbladder and stones. That's my Vet! Read Less

I moved to Sunrise a few months ago, and I am SO happy to have found this veterinary hospital! Dr Zimandy was friendly and knowledgeable, and extremely thorough in her exam. She took her time explaining why my cat could be experiencing his symptoms, and discussed ways to treat it and prevent future issues.The hospital itself is also very nice and clean, and the vet techs and staff are all fantastic as well. So our pup was having bad breath and really dirty teeth and a loose tooth. This was local and highly rated amongst my peers so we decided to make an appointment for a checkup for our pup. The staff were really friendly; the front desk woman was so warm and welcoming, with a great smile. We got in quickly and the vet tech was going over what they will be checking. They took some blood work and we requested for nail trimming. They were thorough, quick, and welcoming. The veterinarian was so nice and professional. She went over what she was going to do during the procedure. She said our dog will be under light sedation. They provided us with the medication pre and post operation as well as directions.Our dog was out of it for a couple of days after the surgery but she is fine now. Her breath no longer smells and her teeth are sparkling white. We had great customer service here and results so we are planning to use this as our go to vet. They also provide dog boarding. The lot is pretty big and the office is large and clean. You can tell they are caring and compassionate towards animals! Read Less

Doc and the entire staff have always gone above and beyond to put us at ease and treat our willow as there own. This veterinary hospital is really great. Super clean and extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Sadly I had to put my beloved cat down on my visit but I can truly say I'm happy I chose this hospital to bring my cat. The staff was very caring about the situation and the doctor was sure to let me know my cat would go peacefully. they took care of the situation amazing. I wish I could split this review into 2 parts.  But erring on the side of positive, I'll give them a 5-star rating and then in the text explain the issue(s).On the back-end, the vets are outstanding.  The business recently underwent a change of ownership and frankly whomever the vets have been, they have been AWESOME.  Going back many years, I've seen 3 different owners come and go, and each Vet Owner has been wonderful.  The newest vets are a lovely wife and husband team and they treat our animals as if they are their own.  On the front-end, its the luck of the draw.  Most of the front desk ladies are very nice, but there is one exception (whom I won't mention) who clearly hates her job and the customers. Unfortunately she is the "face of the business" because when one calls, or walks in the encounter is only with her.  In order to get to a Vet you have to get past her, and that is often difficult.  But in the end, it is the skill and compassion of the vets who count, not the lady who answers the phone.  Front end lady, I rank a NEGATIVE-5.  The vets get a solid GOLD STAR 10.  When one brings their negative energy to work every single day, why do the owners tolerate this? My 8 Year Old I.G and love of my life Rudy was diagnosed by his former vet with IMHA. Upon hearing the news, my world dropped. I was never really happy with his former Vet. VCA Friendship Animal Hospital, but since he had always been seen by them, I figured who new my beanie boy the best. Well let me just say that from the moment of Diagnosis, I felt no humanity from them and felt utterly hopeless. Through sleepless nights of pure devastation and despair, my friend told my about Dr. Z and how she trusted her completely. From the moment I walked into the front door, I was greeted with such humanity and empathy for my baby that I instantly felt that I was no longer alone in this battle to save my baby. The compassion and hope that I have been given has helped me to endure this process. Although it has only been 16 days - 6 of those spent in the hospital and 3 blood transfusions later, Rudy is still alive and now has a better chance of survival thanks to the wonderful staff at Welleby. I will never take my pets to another vet after their ability to turn this tragedy into a positive.Read Less

Went there two weeks ago everyone was nice. Two days later the Doctor called with my cats test results really didn't explain much to me but only kept on repeating how much it more it would cost to treat him. They have been so good with my dogs and always take the time to answer my long list of questions. This is the first vet that is seems my pets actually get excited to go see. They also took such good care of my cat when he needed dental surgery done. He is back to being pudgey and happy. You can't find a better group to take care of your pet's health. Read Less

I can't manage to find the words to say enough good things about this place. From the moment I called in, I knew this place was going to be amazing. Everyone I've met here is incredibly sweet, caring, so gentle and loving with our pets, and knowledgeable!!! When I asked where he was I was told I don't know...BULL.  I IMMEDIATELY WENT HOME AND THANK GOODNESS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA,  I found him!  He is now practicing at EXTRA CARE ANIMAL HOSPITAL IN DAVIE ON FLAMINGO ROAD.  This incredible caring vet has cared for my dogs for 20 years.  I didn't like the pompous previous owner and he's back at Weleby.  So happy I found our Dr Willie!  I hate when bad things happen to good people.
