Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital

Tallahassee, Florida
General Info
Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital integrates organized veterinary services with practical household guidance for Tallahassee residents and Floridians who manage diverse animal ages breeds and conditions under one roof. During the initial visit a detailed examination of each pet's historical background combined with behavioral patterns and recent developments alongside their household role takes place. Examinations focus on individual assessments where factors like posture evaluation, ear and eye clarity checks, skin health inspection, hydration status determination, gait analysis, and temperament observations around humans and animals are all considered. Shared symptoms such as mild coughing or reduced appetite are interpreted contextually since multi-pet environments can obscure or amplify health indicators. Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital delivers personalized wellness planning alongside diagnostics and surgical consultation while offering weight tracking, dental checks, and preventive scheduling. Care plans are designed to accommodate both owner schedules and pet temperaments by adjusting visit frequency or combining procedures to optimize time and energy use. Households managing new adoptions, age-related slowdowns, and travel schedules find their routines become sustainable through these methods. Clinic personnel guide families through available options by presenting information in a way that balances detail to ensure decision-making remains straightforward yet not overwhelming. At every stage owners have the opportunity to ask questions because each appointment and follow-up includes consistent communication. Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital assists Tallahassee families and nearby Florida communities to establish veterinary rhythms compatible with their household pace which ensures every pet has a voice and every visit achieves its purpose.

Dr. Dileo and the vet tech, Alex, were absolutely wonderful with my sick cat, Della. The team at Allied performed a thorough examination without causing Della more stress or anxiety, and quickly diagnosed her issue. They also devised a treatment plan I felt comfortable with, and have happily answered all my phone calls and questions regarding follow-up care. Additionally, Allied was one of the few places open during the long weekend - this is a great, affordable resource for pets and pet owners in distress. Read Less

While I am thankful there is a 24hr vet clinic available during an emergency like we were faced with last night I can't rave about the service. Our puppy was run over by a car and needed an immediate life-saving surgery. Patricia Dileo, VMD was so lacking in compassion her conversation with us could have been considered rude. Said that it will cost a lot (like $5k) to save him and we have to think about what is really best for him (hinting strongly at euthanasia). When we said yes, do surgery just save him, she seemed to do so begrudgingly with no haste and said, you could pay all this $ and he could die on the table. We had to pay $3k up front. While Ms. Dileo's attitude and bedside manner doesn't deserve a single star we gave 3 stars because the surgery to repair his diaphragm hernia was a success and he survived, we had confidence in our faithful God not in the doctor. Even when we called later, Ms. Dileo was vague with details of surgery, the extent of our pup's injuries and his future prognosis. That is when I arranged immediate transfer to our normal vet, North FL AH for the rest of his recovery. Read Less

Brought some baby birds in who had been found in my comcast box in a nest, and seemed to be abandoned by their mother. After feeding them and keeping them warm, I called St. Francis Wildlife who informed me that because it was Sunday, they were not open, but a couple of vet centers in town would keep them overnight on a warming pad, and someone from St. Francis would be around to pick them up on Monday. After bringing in the birds to Allied, I was informed by either a Vet or. Tech that they were “in good health” and I should leave them outside for the mother. After informing him I had been observing the nest and had not seen the mother return, and that they birds were lethargic, and moreover that it would be a cold night and I did not want them to die of exposure, he informed me “they’re well taken care of, they’ll be fine”. Lo and behold this morning, all four birds are dead, despite my best efforts to keep them warm and fed. Thanks Allied. Read Less

All of the experience was refreshingly caring and professional. They are open 24/7 even on easter weekend! DR. Potter was such a great guy, very thorough in his explanations regarding the procedure, and you could tell he genuinely cares alot for all animals. We take our relationships with our dogs seriously, and we want a Vet who invests the same level of concern for our fury family members. This place is top of the line service, and the people are all extremely friendly and down to earth. Thanks so much guys! My dog was 15 1/2 yrs, he passed away exactly 1 mth ago. He went into distressed breathing around 10 pm. I called these folks, they said they'd get a room ready for him. Unfortunately he passed away before we could get him there. I was able to bring him in at that late hour for them to arrange for his cremation. I was relieved because I'm new to the area and had been searching for a creamatory, since I knew my dog's time was getting near, but couldn't find one. Yes, the prices are a little higher€ than a regular vet, but all emergency vets are. And it's a comfort to know they are there round the clock. The staff is very nice here. Read Less

Second time I've had to take one of my dogs here. If you aren't having a 'life or death' situation expect to wait a while. As the owner of a dog that wasn't critical it was annoying for my visit to last 3+ hours, but if my dog was about to die I'd want them to be seen before a non-critical patient. Got out of there at a reasonable price as well ($190), considering their recommended treatment plan was between $950-$1300. Know (or try to have an idea of what you are willing to do) before going in. I knew my dog needed fluids, pain meds, and eye cream, not an IV with an overnight stay, injected pain meds followed up by oral pain meds, 4+ meds for the eye issue, a complete blood work up and other odds and ends treatments. Get them in and the care they need to survive until you can take them to their regular vet. Overall, they're exactly like an emergency room for people. If you aren't about to die, expect to stay awhile. Rooms could have more comfortable seating, but at least there's cable TV in the rooms. Oh, bring a dog bed as the ground is uncomfortable and holding a pet for a long time gets old. Read Less

We were visiting St. George island and it was on a Sunday so everywhere close was closed. We were up all night with our sweet dog as he was sick to his stomach. We drove 1.5 hours to get to this vet. I'm not sure if the Dr was having a bad shift or what but she was very unprofessional. When you speak negatively about my furbaby, you are also speaking negatively to me. First thing out of her mouth "well he hasn't missed a meal". Well lady we are not here for that we are here for him continuing to vomit and we need your help, not your criticism. She then proceeded to call him a lab mix and maybe he has some "hound in him". Well wrong again..he is an English lab. We know for a fact. Might want to Google this kind of dog before spouting off ignorance. Then she gave him a shot with a large needle for his nausea. (That's fine, I understand he is a large dog ). She then proceeded to call him a "wuss". How would you like to be stabbed with say an 18 gauge needle with a medication that burns! She completely rubbed me the wrong way especially being up all night worrying about my fur baby. I hope she doesn't treat others like that. I know I could never tell my surgical patients that they were a wuss, etc. Get a little compassion or get out of the job! You are not only treating the animal but their family as well!Read Less

Well...my cat died there - and the most stand out compassionate person there was a tech named Brittney. When I brought my cat in , the Dr said ( my kittie will have to wait... there are others ahead of your cat who are priority ...I mean who says that without even knowing the situation) . I told her my cat is in trouble -(and he died within 12 hours of this statement). The Dr.[s] seemed slow to action, slow to speak - and seemed kind of cold, but the first one kept my cat alive overnight which was most important and then the cat died the next day - under a different Dr.s shift (she was from North Florida Animal Hospital). Every pet that goes there should be treated as an emergency, there should be a sense of urgency in everything they do. That is why they are there. The worst experience ever! I had to bring my cat in for bloody urine late at night. He needed kidney stone surgery. Allied performed the surgery and told me the cat was ready to go home the next day. I took him home and a week later the syptoms happened again but worse! I brought him back yet again late night. Found out that they MISSED a stone and had to reopen my cat for a second time! They admitted missing it on the xray/ultrasound..They told me he may in the future need a specific surgery that is not normally performed on cats, "only may be in Tennessee". Well, months later the symptoms returned and i brought him to Capital vet specialists, Kevin Drygus..Dr. Drygus performs the SAME type of surgery that is not NORMALLY performed on cats often. Allied knows this Dr and knows he performs this type of surgery but did NOT refer him to me. Had i not found Dr. Drygus my cat would have suffered horribly and eventually died..The cat is only 7 years old with no other medical problems. How many other animals have suffered at the hands of Allied because of their lack of wanting to refer another in town Dr? While I am thankful there is a 24hr vet clinic available during an emergency like we were faced with last night I can't rave about the service. Our puppy was run over by a car and needed an immediate life-saving surgery. Patricia Dileo, VMD was so lacking in compassion her conversation with us could have been considered rude. Read Less

Our pup had to have a spay surgery last week. From the the very first people you meet, to the gut feeling you get when you walk in the door, you can tell this is a great place.

I've had two emergencies for which I've had to visit Allied. Most recently, one my dogs was bit on the face by my other dog. My wife and I rushed to Allied where, after a slightly less than ideal wait time, we were seen by Dr. Daigle. While he was very kind, I have to say there was something about his manner that didn't inspire any confidence at all. I could not have been more wrong. I am broken beyond words over this experience.Read Less

I think it is despicable, truly...Allied is NOT the only emergency vet open 24 hours..I did not know this but wanted to share this! Capital vet services IS also open 24 hours a day for emergencies as well...PLEASE PLEASE go there NOT allied..Allied will charge you a fortune too! Read Less
