We like the veterinarians/owners but it's disturbing that -- after their new groomer hurt both of our pets, one of them quite severely -- they cared so little about what happened that they didn't offer or provide medical services for the injury, any type of refund, or even an apology. We brought our dogs home from being groomed & both of them were bleeding from at least one paw each. One bled so profusely that we had to call emergency aftercare &, while I stayed with our dog to minimize the bleeding, my husband had to go out & buy pet styptic powder just to stop the bleeding. Within minutes of being home -- before we realized she was injured because we were tending to the other dog's bleeding paw -- our dog had bled so much all over multiple rooms in our house that it took four of us to clean up the mess from the floors. This photo of her mangled & bloody paw was taken AFTER we had already cleaned her up multiple times. In the three+ decades I've had various pets groomed I have NEVER had an animal bleed from having nails trimmed because a decent groomer knows to be very careful with the quick to avoid injury & pain. Also, we have our dogs groomed regularly, their nails were not too long, & a simple trimming was all that was needed so there was no reason whatsoever for the groomer to get close to the quick, let alone close enough to cut her so severely that she bled this much. It breaks our hearts knowing the kind of pain our dog suffered when this was done to her. It's been 10 days & she is still very scared to let anyone touch that paw. Again, when we called Bannerman Pet Care to let them know what happened as well as when we spoke directly to one of the vets during a vet visit for another issue, no one showed the least bit of concern or offered any kind of treatment for the injury, any type of refund for the botched grooming or the medical supplies we were forced to buy, or any kind of apology! As far as the grooming goes, this groomer does the most horrible job of any groomer I've ever encountered in over three decades of having my pets groomed. She doesn't know how to do the standard trims for particular breeds & can't do the simplest trim, even when photos are supplied. For example, she had trimmed our dogs once before and didn't trim the ears -- even though this is part of a standard trim for the breed (Schnauzer) -- which was such a problem that our dog couldn't hold her ears up. When we took our dogs in for a second grooming, we supplied photos, as requested, of the proper breed grooming as well as our dog properly groomed, & we specifically stated that we wanted her ears trimmed so she could hold up her ears. When we went to pick up our dogs the groomer had not even touched our Schnauzer's ear fur (as any groomer should know, squeezing anal glands & trimming ear fur/removing it from the ear canal are crucial parts of grooming -- services that are standard & supposed to be included in the grooming process & fee -- as they prevent certain health issues that could become serious). We said something to the receptionist & she took our dog back for the groomer to quickly do the ears before we left. Before she took our dog back I specifically said that the face fur was okay & I didn't want it touched (we have the puppy cut done because we like longer fur on the face). When our dog was brought back out a few minutes later, her ear fur had been (sloppily) trimmed but her face fur had also been hacked, despite me stating that I didn't want it touched. Indeed, the hack job on our dog is so bad that her fur is not the least bit even & has chunks of fur two & three inches shorter or longer than the other fur around it. It looks like a child got hold of her with scissors. Needless to say, we will not have our dogs groomed at Bannerman Pet Care again because we don't want them to be injured & we don't them to look like they are being groomed by a kindergarten child. I also have real concerns with a veterinary group that doesn't seem to care that their groomer injures animals & hacks/can't provide even standard trims. Read Less
