Brought my dog Rani there for the 1st time on Thursday. The vet was extremely nice along with the vet techs. She did a thorough job examining my dog for her yearly exam. I cannot believe I have not reviewed this wonderful place! We used to live in that area and started coming here with our princess Mila the corgi back in May 2015. Mila is the first dog I have had, that is not the "family" dog so this was all new to me. My mother usually took the dogs to the vet and took care of all their needs so I needed to learn some things. The reviews looked great and it was less than a 5 minute drive from us, so we went. We learn so much here! We were such new parents that we put a flea collar on our baby the day we got her, which we were informed was very dangerous. The vet techs are so friendly, compassionate, and patient. The veterinarian is super knowledgeable and caring. Dr. Darko is the best vet I have ever met. He is very personable with the owners and is a friend to the animals. I never feel like I am being ripped off either. The staff is honest regarding what you need, what the best option is, and what you don't need to worry about. Not only that, but everyone will inform you why or why not. Their pricing is very reasonable as well. They have a puppy package that is good for a year. The package includes the shots and exams, which if you pay individually, is a lot more. I also had Mila spayed here. It was $200 and they made sure my baby was okay before I came to take her home. They were very patient with my phone calls every hour lol and not once did they make me feel like an idiot. Carmen and Lauren have been there are along and have been so amazing. I used another vet for a long time. They grew to the point where you'd never see the same doctor, and it was time for a change.I found this vet on Groupon, and brought both of my dogs in for their checkup a few years ago, and have since gotten to know Dr. Simowitz well enough to write this review. She is so kind and compassionate with my dogs. She obviously loves animals, and treats my pets as if they were her own. She will take her time, and examine/ treat your pet with the best option that she can come up with, considering every factor carefully.The front desk staff are friendly and accommodating. They seem to enjoy what they do. The same goes for the technicians and Dr. Darko. The latter of whom I've only met once. I know that everyone says they would pay anything for their pet, but you don't have to here. Rest assured, you won't pay more than you need to for services. It's not cheap. I was looking for a new vet and found a Groupon for this vet. So glad I found this place they are absolutely amazing. Let me start with the office it is spotless. You walk in and would never know that there were animals in the building. Smells so clean and you don't even see any hair on the floors. The receptionists are very pleasant they greet you with a smile and make you feel comfortable walking in. The nurse that helped with my pet was Juan and let me tell you this guy is awesome. You can tell he is very passionate about what he does and truly loves animals! One thing that stood out for me about this vet compared to others is that they don't rush to charge you for unnecessary exams or medication. My dog came in for stomach issues and some irritated eyes and instead of telling me that they would need to run tests and try to figure out what was wrong they gave me some home remedy options (that worked perfectly) for her upset stomach and some eye drops for her eyes. Horrible!!! they did nothing for my animal. They were happy to charge me $160 for an xray!!! And give him a $50 shot of something without even knowing what was wrong with him. Money is no issue but to spend 300 and not get an answer. Is ridiculous we brought back following day for a no charge visit. And they wanted to keep him and run all types of tests. We said one at a test at a time. They didnt like that answer So I call back 5 hours later and they ignored my animal for hourshe hadnt even been treated, he suffered. My male shih-tzu was already going here and the staff has always been friendly towards me, my fur son and my daughter. The Dr's that see him always friendly and filled with humor as well. Always listen to what you gotta say and always helping you understand what's going on with your fur child or children. Helpful to show you what and how to take care of your fur baby as well. The prices are reasonable as well and everyone is so upbeat and understanding. Now my 2nd shih-tzu goes here female and her first time visit has been very wonderful. Dr. Darko and everyone at this clinic are absolutely amazing!! I really can't say enough about the genuine care they have for each and every animal patient, along with their owners (parents). We've never felt rushed and they will listen to all of our concerns, and we are a bit overly concerned when it comes to our two Vizslas. We have even had our other family members go there and they have received the same wonderful treatment. I also have to note that they aren't there just t make money. We even went in one time with a concern for our boy when he was a young puppy, but since it was really nothing, there was no charge for the visit. They just wanted to make sure that he was ok. To sum it up, I highly recommend Dr. Darko and his office to anyone with a four legged fur baby, or what ever type of animal you may have. I called to schedule an appointment for vaccinations for my pup. Carmen answered the phone requesting that I hold. So I did, for 5 minutes, at which point I was hung up on. I then called back and again, Carmen answered the phone, stating her name, and asking that I please hold. I replied that I was holding and was hung up on...nothing. She had already placed me on hold again without as much as hearing my response. My complaint with this facility is not so much with the vet services they provide but more so the LACK of organization and professionalism at this place. I have been taking my dogs for 7 years to dr decklbaum in Cooper City. I recently moved and I am unable to make the hour long drive to get there anymore. With that being said I was recommend to this place based off Yelp and actual friend of mine. I called to have my pets records transferred and when I called to ask what shots they were due for he receptionist seemed frazzled and confused. I told her I understood that she would need time to organize them and I would call later. I guess she thought I was upset because she had the actual Vet dr. Darko from what I presume to speak with me. He then proceeded to inform me that in 7 years my dogs have no records of shots...I told him I didn't understand how that would be possible and understand that maybe it was an error on my current vets part not a problem. But what I didn't need was the rambling on I got afterwards about why I would even bother taking my dogs to dr decklbaum because they're now considered a hospital/emergency vet. I politely thanked him and hung up. 2 days later I called back to see if my old vet had sent over the "missing vaccination" reports. The receptionist had no idea what I was talking about and proceeded to tell me that maybe the woman I spoke with was on bereavement leave or they must have been thrown out. I was so livid because of the fact that I had drive an hour out of my way to get physical copies of my records just to make sure this "establishment" could have them on file, that I decided to take my dogs elsewhere.Ps: your automated system doesn't work when you press 1 to speak with a receptionist you have to press 0 otherwise you will keep listening to the same message over and over again which can be terribly annoying when your trying to make a simple appointment. Yelp is always my "go to" website when I need to find something, and rarely do I disagree with the reviews on here, but in this case, I must.  I made an appointment at Animal Wellness Clinic for my cat, Merlin.  I made the appointment for 9:00 on Saturday morning and I arrived at the clinic 20 minutes early so I would have time to fill out the necessary paperwork.  So far, all seemed fine.  It was before 8:55 when they put me in the exam room and I heard the overhead announcement that a patient was waiting.  A few people came in with their pets after me, and as I stood in the room, I could hear them being brought into other rooms.  I could also hear that their pets were being examined, while I was still in the room with Merlin by myself.I finally came out and asked if anyone was going to be coming in to see my pet, and I was told that he would, and that they would remind him again.  This time I never heard the overhead, so I can only assume that either a) she told him in person, or b) she never told him.  At any rate, at 9:15 I still had not been seen.  20 minutes is too long to wait for a doctor without any word of why I was waiting.  If there had been an emergency, then someone should have come in and explained that.  Whatever the difficulty was, I should have been informed.  I was ignored.  That is unacceptable for any business and that rates this clinic one star.I can't assess the skills of the doctor because I never met the doctor.  I put Merlin back in his carrier and left.  No one deserves to be treated like this and if this is how Animal Wellness Clinic treats its customers, I'll go somewhere else. I brought my 8 year old Chihuahua with sever skin problems to Dr. Janet Simowitz. All I can say is thank you so very much. The service on every level was better then I can even give credit for. The front desk women were kind, Dr. Simowitz was extremely knowledgeable and obviously knew what to do, her assistant was compassionate and knew how to make me feel comfortable. They showed me all fees upfront and I literally cried. 5 different medicines plus a nail trim plus gave my dog all the meds in front of me so I knew how to use them ALL. Dr Darko and his staff provide excellent compassionate cutting edge care.  We have been taking our dog there for the past 9 years.  We found him because our dog was a rescue that went from home to home; in between homes he stayed at Animal Wellness. Our baby is 130+ pounds.  He has had joint and injury issues over the years.  Several years back he injured his Leg and could not get up.  Dr Darko came to our house to examine and treat him.  Though conventional wisdom said we should "put him down", Dr Darko helped us rehab him.  Five years later he's still going strong.  I can't say enough good things about this practice. Dr Darko has literally saved my bulldog's life. She was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease and deteriorated down to a scary 40 lbs. She was having accidents in the house, chronic diarrhea, lethargic and pale. We have been to several vets in Fort Lauderdale and all they wanted to do was cut her open and inspect her intestines further after countless tests, blood work and sonograms. Not to mention they wanted $6,000. Ridiculous. Sedate my already sick bulldog so you can poke around? Nope. Dr Darko took a natural and homeopathic approach with diet, supplements and vitamins and Dolly is almost back to her normal self again only two months later. I brought my goldendoodle puppy here when he got an ear infection while visiting my parents from Omaha, NE. I cannot recommend this clinic enough! They helped us quickly clear out his ear infection with an ointment and an ear flush where we expected to be given powerful, blanket antibiotics. When we went in, his ears were so painful he wouldn't let us touch them. When we went in for a checkup to make sure the meds were working, he loved the doctors and nurses so much that he waited by their door, wagging his tail. Outstanding veterinarians. Very unhappy that my English bull dog died on Dec 13 he was a patient for many years, I had mentioned previously to Dr Darko about his breathing it had a gergl sound he said it was not really something to worry about he told me my dog is old and that his lungs sounded clear so on dec 3 we brought him in for an ear infection DR Darko was not there another vet was she thoroughly examined him and also said his lung were fine deep down I knew she was wrong like the doctor but I did not argue since they are the experts during that week he was not feeling well and keep coughing and hacking we then had a following appoint the following Saturday for a second medication to be put in his ears by then my poor dog couldn't even make to the door he was out of breath hacking even more than before I told the girl that he was not breathing well at all and that it was an emergency we sat there waiting like two idiots for almost 45 minutes while they took there time getting to us finally the so called vet says to us Oh let me call around other clinics we can't help him we. Picked up our poor dying dog and rushed him to Coral Springs medical center where they were waiting for us at the door rushed him in the back and started working on him they tried everything possible for my poor Bubba but it was to late he had severe aspiration pneumonia and our hearts are broken from having to euthanize him I can't explain the hurt and pain I'm having from losing my Bubba he was the best dog a person could have I will never forget him in regards to this office I really thought differently but I was wrong at the end there are heartless since I only got a sympathy card in the mail without a signature or phone call from Dr Darko himself! So please take into consideration my story before you bring your family member there.Read Less

The most unprofessional place I have ever been to ! Horrible experience they mishandled my cat and caused her to claw them , she came out panting like a dog nearly hyperventilating . Her claws were bleeding and her paws bruised as if someone tried declawing her ! Her nails were broken . I went with my children and the so called Doctor came in the room yelling and screaming profanities telling me he wouldn't touch me Effin cat and to sedate her ! Early this year I rescued a three-legged pooch who is my whole heart. I adopted her spayed and with all of her shots and healthy - but she did recently have surgery to remove her front paw so I wanted to have a local vet on hand just in case. I searched near home to find a vet and found this place. I decided to take her there for a healthy dog visit, to make sure she was looking okay, was the proper weight, for advice and food options, flea/tick prevention, etc. They were so kind from the moment we walked in there. I accidentally made an appointment with the wrong vet up the road, but they took me in anyways. Every staff member there was so kind and took such good care of my pup. We recently had our beloved pet put to rest and the Staff at Dr. Darko office where the most compassionate folks I've ever met. I took my 10 year old pup, Caroline, to see Dr. Darko for a holistic visit for her idiopatiic hepatitis and skin allergies. She had been taking Denamarin for her liver for a year and a half with very little results. I had also tried every high end food out there with no luck. After seeing Dr. Darko and following his advice for four months, my girl's hepatitis has almost completely resolved (seen on bloodwork) and her allergies have improved about 90%. She has lost 2 pounds and is so energetic when compared to before. I used to walk her to the end of the block and she would get tired and sometimes need to be carried back home. Now, she has so much spunk and wants to keep going. Her skin has cleared up and her coat is so soft and shiny. Her fur grows twice as fast, so much that she has to be groomed once a month instead of every other month. Prior to seeing Dr. Darko, I was running to the vet every couple of weeks to treat symptoms, now I only have to go every couple of months for an inexpensive follow up. Dr. Darko saved my dog's life and for that, I am beyond thrilled and grateful!!! Dr. Darko is a wonderful vet and he is patient and kind.
