WARNING: THIS PLACE IS A POUND FOR ALL PETS. Please read the other reviews, If your dog/pet gets hurt, please DO NOT BRING THEM here. This place is a DUMP (emphasis on DUMP) You'll understand as soon as you step foot in here and everyone else is livid, for the same exact reason.... Their dog/pet is in pain and no one is even trying to help. This is a money hungry business. They don't care about you or your dog. I paid $500 for the antibiotics and medicine ALONE for my dog and they didn't even want to administer him ANY (not one) antibiotic. They took over an hour to treat my dog after we paid. They showed ZERO COMPASSION FOR ME AND ESPECIALLY MY POODLE IN PAIN, They LITERALLY do not care about your dog. Sydney/Lindsey (i think is her name) the brown girl that speaks like Squidward or as if she had 3 nose jobs, was the absolute worst. She was super disrespectful, knowing that my dog was in pain and having zero customer service towards my family and I, asking us "do you understand do you understand???" so that she could get her paycheck and go home, she was on her phone HALF of the time, even while walking into the room with us she was finishing up her text messages. This place is a huge DUMP. Google Map ANY other pet ER down the road/street and save your pet. I wouldn't go back to this pet ER unless it was the last one ON EARTH, and that's only because I love my dog. But newsflash, they're NOT the last ones on earth!!!! Take your loving pet ELSEWHERE, your pet would do the same for you. Read Less

If I could give zero stars, I would. I took my 1 year old English bulldog here around 3am last night because his face was swelling up and he had hives all over his body. The tech by the name of Kendra was a miserable and condescending person. She had the nastiest attitude when speaking to my mother and I. Constant eye rolls and never showed an OUNCE of compassion. In this type of situation, the last thing you want to deal with is rudeness...you just want your pet to feel better. I get it, it was late and she probably didn't want to be there-I definitely didn't... no one wants to have to watch their pet in discomfort and pain. But that is what she decided to do for a living. She was absolutely disgusting when my mother and I would ask questions, answering them in a way that suggested that we should have already known the answer, yet she was talking huge medical terminology and I'm sorry but I was an English major in college. I was so close to snapping right back at her but I actually have manners. On the other hand, the vet, Seth, was extremely helpful and nice. Nothing to complain about with him. Also, they should really consider hiring professionals to clean the trail of blood splatters from an obvious emergency that lead up to the front door. They look as if they have been there for a very long time and no one wants to see that when going into a pet hospital. Just makes you think the absolute worst. Read Less

I’ve visited this facility back in March 24, 2017 with my female dog who had gone into labor.. I have welped litters before and I new something was wrong, so I took her here. They euthanized all 8 of her full term puppies because they didn’t believe in breeding nor the breed.i told them she was an American bully they said she was Pitbull. I knew something was terribly wrong when they wouldn’t allow me to stay during C-section. They kicked me out and lock the doors. I knew those puppies were alive before the C-section because they were kicking and flipping and moving they were alive they had heartbeats. As I let them do the C-section to my dog they told me that I had to have her spade if they would save her life. It was some kind of blackmail either I let them do what they wanted to my dog or they would let her die. This place killed all my puppies! All of them. I wished I could post a picture of this demented job the vet did. I’m so angry this hurts so bad! I still cry over this. I have 2 years after to sue and I think I will. I have been debating this in my head for a bit now. The nightmares, the sadness, the anger, I can confidently say this place managed to do this to me. Read Less

I’ve written a review before for this business, but when a place is awesome, it’s worth saying it again! I strongly recommend Pet Emergency Center. Under the leadership of Dr. Kiser, they offer exceptional veterinary care. I only wish that they were open 24-hours a day——offering both emergency and routine veterinary services. Dr. Kiser is extremely knowledgeable, and he’s often able to identify medical issues that elude other vets. He is also very patient and compassionate——and he leads a team that also embodies those characteristics. It’s rare to find a vet who has both superior veterinary skills and an impressive bedside manner. Pet Emergency Center is a 5-Star ER. Read Less

We took our small dog who had injured himself here because nothing else was open at the time. It was probably around 2am. The two girls working were extremely insensitive to the situation. They were laughing in the hallway and taking forever to do things. They were making jokes while we were obviously extremely upset and our dog was whimpering in pain. The “vet” repeated the same thing three times, they were both acting like if they were on drugs. Read Less

If you love your pet don't ever take your love one here. I lost my beautiful fur baby dog last Monday, when I arrived to this center at around 1am the front desk person was not sensible at all when my little one could not breath well, then came Dr. Monk and told me that she was not going to make it, she was in cardiac arrest as he explained, immediately they told me to leave the center and go home, I wasn't going anywhere but they did not let me stay in the reception area either so I had to stay in the parking lot until almost 5am when Dr Monk called and said that she just passed away, he didn't call me to be with her in her last moments as I requested. The two people working there that night had no empathy at all, they were the worst people to be with a dying little one, not sensitive and they did not allow me to be with my baby in her last moments. IF YOU LOVE YOUR BABIES DONT TAKE THEM TO THIS PLACE, NOT EVEN 1 STAR TO THEM!!! I HAD TO MARK 1 STAR BECAUSE IT WOULDNT LET ME POST IT, BUT THEY DONT DESERVE IT!!! Read Less

Outstanding service from the first phone call to the invoice. Took my older dog over late this Tuesday night for a minor emergency. She was treated and we were out the door in 30 minutes. Obviously, this is an emergency vet center so I did expect to pay a fair amount. I was pleasantly surprised to find the prices reasonable for an emergent basis and felt no pressure for unnecessary testing. Best of all the veterinarian and technician were both highly competent individuals who really cared about animals. More than I can say about most regular vets. Honey and I are so very thankful! The woman who answered the phone was so incredibly knowledgeable and helpful! She spent time researching and doing the math on our three dogs weights to decide if the amount of chocolate they got into was harmful and determined that they'd be fine. The two emergency vets I called before that told me to come in immediately and it would be $100/dog for the office visits only and then more to induce vommitting, get fluids etc. Thank you so much for not causing us to spend all of our Christmas money on unnecessary things! You have no idea how much you've helped us with a simple phone call. You were wonderful and, even though we live in Pompano Beach, this will be our vet of choice if we ever need anything! Read Less

Before leaving, one reception advise I can return for free to remove his drains. I returned 3 day later to a second receptionist that was so rude. I explain I was told to return and you will remove drain, she shot back and said I don't know why she said that but I do it this time and snatches my poodle up in the air an told me go sit down in the front office and wait there, 3 minutes later she brought my dog back and pretty much scold me again to now go to your primary vet to remove stitches. I thank her for her help, she just turned around and walk away. I guess $570 is not enough to get any courtesy after what happen to my poodle. Please think twice before going there!!! I brought my pet here because of the high ratings on google, however I really wish I hadn't. My little angel was having diarrhea issues, vomiting and a decreased appetite. I was going out of town the following day, so I wanted to get her checked out quickly before I left. I explained the issues that she was having to the vet, and after I finished he said "Uhhh, okay... so WHY is she here", completely blowing off my concerns, and as if my concerns weren't a valid enough reason to bring her in. He gave her a shot for her "upset stomach" and prescribed pills to help her digestion. Well, I took her to a DIFFERENT vet as soon as I returned home, a few days later, and it turns out her "upset stomach" was actually hookworms. Not only was she misdiagnosed and given antibiotics and a shot for something she didn't even need, but this vet made me feel like I was completely wasting their time and my own for being concerned about my pet. The best part: I didn't even administer the pills to her because of the vets' sloppy and careless demeanor; it was obvious to me that he was just prescribing anything without knowing the real actual source of the issues that she was having.. I'm paying you to tell me whats wrong, not to tell me what I already know. Read Less

When our senior Maltese's diagnosis proved grave, the doctor and staff at Pet Emergency Center were gracious and understanding. They took into consideration our unique financial circumstance and tailored a care plan that aligned with our budget. Their main focus is the well-being of the animal and it shows in their work. We're very grateful to have found them when we did. My only complaint is I definitely noticed some compassion fatigue from the vet tech/receptionist. She was empathetic, but it did seem a bit forced at times. And once our dog was humanely euthanized, the vet never returned to personally reassure us and see us on our way. The vet tech came out, said she had passed and we can leave whenever we like. Room for improvement.. Read Less

If I could give 0 stars I would! COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Your suppose to be an emergency 24 hours pet hospital for exotic pets. Apparently the only one in South Florida, Called several 24 hour pet hospitals, INCLUDING my own and Dr. Kay's office in Deerfield the one from animal planet and ALL the answering machines gave me the same number to this hospital. When I called the assaistant answered, I told her the my Micro Pig had been spayed a week or so ago and that her stitches are leaking a brown liquid, called my vet, he gave me this number said bring her right away. She says one moment, places me on hold comes back to say. The Dr on call is unwilling to see a pig. I couldn't believe what I was told, he's "unwilling" to see my pig, why because she's a pig? That's completely ridiculous you are the ONLY 24 hour exotic Animal hospital, and your unwilling to see my pig when she's having a emergency, how can you refuse to see a animal. Ask to speak to the DR himself, she says one moment, comes back and says he won't speak to me. He won't speak to me? Seriously ? She tells me oh just take her to your own vet in the morning. Your kidding me right ?? Your working in a emergency EXOITIC animal hospital and your refusing to see my pig. Why are you working there ? When you own a lab mix, it's bound to happen: She ate a toy. Completely gone in seconds. My vet and tech were very friendly over the phone as well as in person. They were as concerned about my dog as I am. They were able to induce her to vomit out the toy. The price was very reasonable for after hours care. I had called a closer, different ER vet clinic before finding this one. They wanted unnecessary X-rays before inducing my dog to vomit even though I know when and what she ate. That would a waste of time and money. This clinic was quick on their feet and efficient on what they do. That is how all emergency (animal and human) should operate. Its been a long time coming for this review. Long story short, Oct 24, 2015 my dog was poisoned from accidentally eating potpourri, I immediately took her to Banfield Hospital for treatment. Banfied is not a 24 hrs hospital so I had to pick her up and bring her home, the next morning I brought her back in to seek more medical treatment. Later that afternoon when I cam to pick her up Dr. Zambella inform me her condition has not change nor has it gotten better so he felt it would be best to take her to an animal hospital for further testing treatment. I immediately rush her to CSAH where they kept her for 3 days. Each day I came in I was told something different by Dr. Joseph Kats, he informed me she suffered from neurological disorder because she wasn't using her back legs to walk, the next day I was told she maybe suffering from liver failure but they would need to do proper testing. In order for them to see if her liver was failing it would cost me more so of course I agreed for them to charge my care credit again another stupid charge, when they ran the test....oh I'm sorry, its not liver failure Everyday I came in to see my Barbie I cried my heart out like I was losing my best friend. She was in so much pain and had not eat, drink, nor did I feel like she recognize me. I think God and my family who persuaded me to take Barbie home to comfort her and that's exactly what I did. Dr. Kats and Dr. Whitsett tried their best to FORCE Euthanasia and did not want me to take Barbie home. They kept forcing me to kill my dog, KILL MY BEAUTIFUL DOG!. Thank God I walked out of that hospital with my Barbie and the next day I comfort her, forced her to eat by placing a syringe in her mouth to get some liquid food, even though she kept vomiting I reinforce it. I brought her back to banfield as I had to return back to work for 2 days and didn't feel comfortable leaving her home alone. I told Dr. Zambella how I felt and I need his help saving my dog. Today my thanks goes to Dr. Zambella from Banfield off of sawgrass and SPECIAL THANKS to Dr, Seth Kiser from Pet Emergency Center for placing a feeding tube in order for Barbie to intake food and her medicine. I can truly say today my Pomeranian is ALIVE! She's healthy, she's happy and I am Happy. First of all I called this place before I came in to see if they could treat my hamster. The second time was by mistake because I thought I was calling a different clinic but the same woman picked up and she sounded so irked because I called twice to ask a single question. This was at 2AM and it was an emergency obviously. I searched and searched in the shopping plaza where they were supposed to be located and could not find the clinic so I decided to call them again and the same receptionist as soon as she heard my voice audibly shrugged and said "oh my God.." under her breathe as if I was killing her to do her job. She helped me find the place with a horrible attitude and it is entirely untrue that it is the only place that is the only office lit up at that time. As a matter of fact if she stepped outside she would see the haircut place next to her is completely lit and her office actually looks dim from the outside. This attitude of this woman almost had me in tears as I was already very emotional over my pet barely being able to breathe. She was entirely uncompassionate once I got there and basically threw the paperwork at me. I resolved to speak to her boss once i was in the patient room with my hamster but once I met the veterinarian he was almost as rude and uncouth as her. He picked up my hamster and basically yelled at me that she had severe pneumonia. The sensitivity and understanding of a vet who is supposed to deliver this news was ENTIRELY lacking. He left no space for me asking questions on how this happened. He just said I had to make this decision FAST. Either pay $400-500 treatment that wasn't gonna work very well or put her down. There was no time. I was sobbing and I do not have that kind of money so I had to put her down. He told me to go sit in the front wating room and I wasn't allowed to see her being put down. I've read a couple of reviews mentioning the same thing. Why is that? What is happening in that back room that we are not allowed to be with out beloved companions in their last moments. After this, the doctor didn't even come back out. The receptionist handed me the body. I doubt he had much to do at 3AM. I was in such pain that all I did was nod and comply. But I would never go back their again. It is a SHAME that these people feel that they can abuse you and treat you like you're not worth their time simply because they are the only open clinic so late in the area. It wasn't until I was crying for my hamster that either of them showed any slight compassion towards me. These people should not work with animals and should not work in situations where they need to respect and value and be compassionate with their clients. Absolutely horrible. On top of that it was $90 to euthanize my dwarf hamster and as I learned later on, a lot of places will even do it for free. And on top of that, I didn't even get to see her injected so I don't even know what happened. The receptionist has black hair and very light skin and the doctor was a big build guy with short hair and light skin. And I hope your office reads this because you guys made a terrible night 10 times worse and you should feel horrible for it. Read Less

Pet Emergency took us in right away. They were extremely kind, and explained to us all our options. When a treatment plan was written up, they reviewed everything (including price details) before taking our dog back for the procedure to treat the dog bite. The procedure was done quicker than expected and we were able to pick him up right away. His medication was explained in detail and they answered all my questions completely, and patiently. (I was a little flustered.) My dog had an issue with one of the medications a few days later and I called them back. Again, they were beyond helpful. My elderly dog had been having serious health problems for two months.  One night she started acting totally out of character, and my wife and I knew she was close to the end.  Around 4:00 AM, she started to have a major seizure.  We knew we couldn't wait until our regular vet opened at 9:00 AM, so we took her to Pet Emergency Center in Tamarac, which was the closest animal hospital open at that time.Paige and Dr. Monk were on duty that night.  Paige was very compassionate and sensitive to our needs from beginning to end.  Dr. Monk was professional and didn't sugarcoat our dog's prognosis.  We knew what we had to do, but they gave us the 40 or so minutes we needed to convince ourselves it was the right decision for our baby girl. The prices are expensive compared to a normal vet, but they are reasonable for a 24-hour emergency animal care facility.  After our dog was stabilized, we were presented with bills showing the estimated costs of various options for treatment.  At no time did we feel pressured to make a particular decision. This place needs to be investigated. They will make you panic and force you to do surgery at a ridiculous cost. Doctor is very Shady and possibly cost my family's dogs his life. The regret I feel is unbearable. We should have waited to see his vet that we TRUSTED the next morning. Doctor refused to let us stay while he performed surgery (supposedly) because he said it made him feel nervous even though he claimed to have done that surgery numerous times. I would not be surprised if he just put our poor dog to sleep and pocketed the $2500. I am looking into investigating this. I feel guilty for agreeing to proceed with the surgery instead of waiting a few hours to see our Vet. I should have followed my gut. Think twice before using this place. Take notice if all the fake good reviews that all pop up around the same time. This place is bad news. Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

Absolutely phenomenal experience. We took our dog in on a Friday night, after a run in with a neighbor dog left our Yorkie with a 1/2" puncture wound in between his shoulder blades. Hope we don't have to visit again, but I would recommend this to any pet lover who needs emergency care. Read Less

Read Less
