We've been taking our puppy - now dog - to Bayshore Animal Clinic for ten months and been absolutely pleased with the careful attention he's received.  Parking is excellent with tons of spots.  Every time we come in, the staff greets us with a smile and complimentary drink from the beverage cooler (soda, water, DD coffee drinks, sparkling water) and a doggy treat for him.  We've done walk-ins without notification, and he's typically seen by the vet in less than 20 minutes.  There are restrooms for humans that are clean and comfortable. When I took Him in last time, I paid $60 to see the vets and have him examined.  The vet was friendly and took time to address all my concerns after they ran tests on him; they even trimmed his nails at no charge!If you're in the South Tampa area and need a vet for your dog or cat, this is a place I'd highly recommend taking them to. On the plus side, they were very nice, saw my cat quickly when he was ill, and made some good suggestions for his care.   They have a nice, modern facility and are a fear-free practice.  Unfortunately we couldn't stay with them long-term because they're just ludicrously, crushingly expensive and have some strange policies about internet vendors that would have made our life more difficult (who needs that?)Two visits with basic labs, urinalysis, X-ray, a couple of common meds, and some sub-cutaneous fluids was nearly $1000.  I looked at my itemized bill and just the sq fluid (literally a bag of saline injected under his skin) was billed at over $50!   Again, this is a bag of salt water.  For reference, it's $16 at the country vet and $35 at the bougie Hyde Park vet.   We might have been willing to deal with that, but the last straw was their weird policy about internet vendors.   My cats are old and have special needs.   We buy prescription food and 6 different meds a month.   I absolutely use Chewy, 1-800 Pet Meds, etc. because I need to shop for the best prices and not spend my entire life picking up cat stuff.   When I went to order the new food they'd recommended, they refused to authorize the order with Chewy.    They gave me some bizarre song-and-dance about how they didn't feel comfortable working with online suppliers and they just couldn't guarantee the quality since they had no idea where the products came from.   I pushed back, and their grand concession was that I could come in every single month and pick up a prescription for their food that I could then send into Chewy.   Yeah, no.   I don't doubt that they're good vets, but adding the extra errand of having to buy everything from them, and bankrupting myself in the process, made staying with them a non-starter. We love Bayshore Animal Clinic!  From the font office staff, to the vet techs, to the vets...It is clear that they are all true animal lovers.  Everyone is always super friendly and shows our dog lots of love.  During each visit, they discuss exactly what treatment they recommend, the cost, and your options before they do anything.  We also receive a follow up call from the vet (and an email) after every visit to discuss test results or just to check on our pup. We've been in Tampa bay for two years now, taking our pets to Animal Doctors of South Tampa. I decided to call BAC today to see if they had any available appointments to see my cat Tubbs who I suspected to have an eye infection and our new kitten Link for an initial exam and because I suspected the eye infection stemmed from him. From the moment we walked in the door to literally the moment we left we were treated with enthusiasm, compassion, and incredible attention. Every member of the staff was knowledgeable and helpful, Dr. Drewes was fully invested in our babies and their health, and the entire clinic was clean and well kept. We were sent home with a complimentary new kitten gift bag for the little one complete with a new collar, informational pamphlets galore, and a free sample of flea/tick treatment. I've been going to Bayshore Animal Clinic since the days of Dr. Z when it was in a tiny place on MacDill. While the owners and staff have changed over three decades, I still consider this my "go-to" place for all my pets' medical and well-being needs. I took my sick cat in there today and after Dr. Panzarella gave me his diagnosis, she also gave me her cell number in case we had any issues with him this weekend. Now that's service! Just moved to Tampa, brought dogs in to check on immunizations. VERY impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, professionalism of the staff and welcoming attitude. The doctors here practice very high-level Veterinary Care. They are skilled at diagnosing and treating animals in the best possible way. Slip-ups I've experienced with other veterinarians and emergency clinics just don't happen here. My pups and I recently moved back to Tampa, and we chose Bayshore Animal Clinic based on fellow Yelpers' recommendations. The whole clinic impressed me from my initial call to schedule an appointment to our most recent visit for Penelope's booster shots and thunder-induced anxiety. It's hard for a veterinary clinic to impress me because I am the most extra of all helicopter dog moms, but Bayshore Animal Clinic did it! Dr. Panzarella and her technicians were very attentive to the needs and wellness of both of my sweet hounds, recommending appropriate Florida-specific care like the leptospirosis vaccine, suggesting one pet insurance over another, and answering questions from both me and my mom, a helicopter dog grandmother! (Dr. Panzarella backed up her vaccine recommendation with research from the University of Florida, too, which made me feel respected as an intelligent dog owner and affirmed that the clinic was not just trying to make extra money by administering unnecessary vaccines.) I called the office the day after the second visit with a question about Penelope's lab results and her medication, and Dr. Panzarella returned the call herself within an hour. The clinic itself is clean, modern, and welcoming, with complimentary beverages in the waiting room (although we did not wait more than 3 minutes on either visit), friendly front desk staff, and knowledgeable veterinary technicians. They made room for this new patient on a Saturday morning at 11. My dog was bite by a bug and was running a fever among other problems. They took us in and took the time to treat her. Dr. Drewes, the front staff, and the vet techs are all amazing they really care about the animals in the animals in their care. They always go out of their way to make my very nervous dog more comfortable, treats, sitting on the floor, letting me help with handling him. Vet visits could be very stressful for us but I never worry at Bayshore because I know they will be patient and give my dog space. They are always upfront with medical options and will give estimates if needed, I have never felt rushed, and have always felt they give comprehensive care. They always follow up when they say they will and even helped us fight a claim with our insurance when they tried to deny coverage. I can't speak highly enough about the group here. We took our sick pupper here because they were one of the only clinics open on a Saturday. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I felt as though they were well educated and they knew what they were talking about- rather than just racking up charges. The great service does come at a price though, costing $50-100 more than I paid at my last vet. My father took his dog here as well and had the same opinions of the helpful of the staff! Read Less

Just moved to the area and heard great things about this vet office. I was amazed by the cleanliness of the office and friendly employees. They have cold drinks at the front for their customers which seems like such a small thing, but these details are what set them apart from others. Jose the tech was super friendly and made us feel so welcomed. We saw Dr. Bucki and were very pleased with his thorough exam. He didn't make us feel rushed and his calm spirit made the appointment a breeze. Another thing that impressed me was the state of the art technology they use and the capability to do many labs and services in house. Dr Panzarella and Dr Drewes have put together a fabulous team that is efficient and very compassionate. All of the vets at Bayshore are very experienced, the techs are great and the staff fits you in whenever necessary, and they remember your name (actually the pet's names)  They are good diagnosticians and are wonderful with my geriatric dogs that I love dearly. The Clinic is spotless and totally odor free. The examination rooms are fully equipped and soundproof. Excellent Veterinary experience!!!  We had an appointment today for a second opinion of our 4 year old terrier mix re: a recent Lymphoma diagnosis.  This was our first visit to Bayshore Animal Clinic and we met with Dr. De Gale.  We arrived on time for our appointment; and was greeted and made to feel very welcome by the front office.  We met with Dr. De Gale and she explained the results of our lab tests thoroughly and offered options for the next steps.  She then referred us to an oncologist and made the appointment for two days later at a time that worked with our schedules.  Dr. De Gale and her entire staff made our very difficult situation more bearable and we are so appreciative of their expertise and overall support. Had to make an appointment for my cat who developed an unusual swelling in her mouth. The receptionist was very nice made the appointment and assured me if there were any changes to come in as walk in.    Went today for my appointment. Everyone was so nice. Bella gets nervous so the made sure they sprayed a towel with calming spray for her.      The examination went well.       After because I was a new client they took me for a tour of the facility. I was very impress. Being an emergency nurse for 30 years the equipment they had was very interesting. I was referred to Bayshore Animal Clinic by a coworker a couple years ago after being unhappy with several other clinics in the area. Totally sold on them to the point that after moving from Tampa to St Pete, I am happy to make the drive every time.I never feel like they push products that my dogs don't need. In fact, before we started seeing Dr. Walsh, I brought in my older dog when he first had a UTI and the vet we saw suggested a canned food they sold and allowed my dog to try it so I wouldn't waste my money on something he may not eat. Sure enough, my picky dog did not like it (in fact, he pushed the paper plate off the bench to get it away from him!) and that was that. He had an alternate plan and we were fine.We love Dr. Walsh, and she's helped that same dog work through a recurring problem. The wait is never too bad, and if it does take a little longer than expected, they acknowledge it and apologize. The front desk team is always so helpful, and I haven't met a vet tech that isn't great with my dogs - even the one who is defensive. I've recommended BAC to others and will continue to do so. Yes, this animal clinic IS "as good as it gets!".  We are new to Tampa and were referred by a friend.  We were greeted with smiles and lovely conversation from the gals at the front desk.  Charlotte, our 6 pound Havanese was treated with the most gentle care and concern albeit only for a well-visit.  The Dr. who saw her, Dr. Jo Walsh, was lovely and caring and taught me more in a short period of time than our previous vet in Orlando did in the 18 months we were there. She also gave me her card and said to feel free to call her day or night or to email her with anything at anytime.  The facility is state-of-the-art and immaculate.  The prices seem normal. They went over what the yearly schedule would be moving forward, making me realize that my vet in Orlando was doubling up on visits unnecessarily. Easy to access location and parking. There is also zero waiting time. I found this place after a previous vet had put us through the wringer (you can check my previous reviews)! We called asking for an immediate check up for one of my dogs and they squeezed us in with Dr. Haworth the same afternoon. He took the time to go over our X-Rays and calm us down and assure us there was no emergency, which we were led to believe from our previous vet. We set up a treatment plan and we were on our way! No insane fees or scare tactics that some offices are notorious for. I brought our other dog in for a check up and yearly exam and the doctor recommended teeth cleaning under anesthesia. I am terrified of anesthesia because I had a dog pass away from intolerance in the past. Dr. Haworth took the time to give me a walk through of the surgery rooms, dental cleaning area, and introduced me to some of the techs! I met with him two more times before he did the surgery where he explained it to me in detail. The day of, he called me every step of the way with both of my dogs to keep me calm and informed. Amazing person as well as a doctor. Since we have made this our main office, Dr. Haworth has since retired, so we have met with Dr. Drewes (one of the owners) and he did a complicated surgery on my dog for me. I told him my concerns with the anesthetic and he assured me and told me all of his experience (can I say WOW?!) His history is impressive. The staff here are amazing and kind, especially Ashley! She's so gentle and knows her stuff. I always feel great trusting her with my pets. My four kids and I made an emergency visit to Bayshore Animal Clinic with our dying Cockatiel, and we were treated with the most gentle care and understanding even during busy work hours. They took us into a quiet side room while they tended to the bird in triage, and gave the kids chocolate milk while the doctor consoled them like a loving father to tender-hearted children. This place means the world to my husband & I (and 3 furbabies too). We were referred to a specific doctor there a few years ago, although we were established at another clinic nearby) & we transferred over immediately & haven't looked back. The staff is so kind, always polite, very courteous, and the vets are absolutely INCREDIBLE. The doctors take so much time explaining things both before & after doing them (even pricing so  you're not caught off guard with your bill when all is done like so many other places do). My first time coming here and I LOVED every part of it! They immediately made me feel welcomed, gave my dog a lot of love and attention to ensure he wasn't scared or hated the place, then they proceeded to tell me everything of what needed to be done and the price break down. The whole Bayshore Animal Clinic team was amazing today from my first phone call with their very kind reception to the in room checkout.  To start we were new patients and requesting a same day visit for our dog that is in the final stages of cancer.  They fit us in that afternoon and called us into the treatment room right at the start of our appointment.  The initial review and the treatment plan were done in a very quick and professional manner.  When Dr Panzarella had to come deliver some tough news to us she crouched down with me along side our dog.  She also had included a urinalysis in the initial treatment plan.  The other tests and X-rays told her what she needed to make a diagnosis, so she removed this from the plan and cost.  Olivia was wonderful and patient during the history review and while discussing the follow up care we'd need to do during the last few days with our best friend.  The in room checkout was so helpful, so my daughter and I could exit quickly after hearing some hard news.  I know once Maybee, our dog, is ready they will treat her and us with the same care.  Thank you Bayshore Animal Clinic team for treating us so well today. I must say I'm not usually one to write reviews. But I feel this is really well deserved to the wonder staff and to any pet owner in the area. The Bayshore Animal Clinic is by far the best vet I've been to. I've had tons of pets my entire life and its nice to finally see people who value them as much as I do. The circumstances involving our sweet cat were not the best. I will not go into detail, I will just say he was very very sick. We weren't sure what was wrong with him when we took him to the vet but stayed optimistic. The doctors and nurses were incredibly kind throughout each visit. They even remembered our cat each time we brought him in. They did literally everything they could for our cat and did their best to keep costs down. Even working after hours to assist with our sick kitty's care. The doctors even went so far as to check in with our cat throughout the week to be sure he was doing okay. My boyfriend and I had to leave our cat with my brother during a business trip for a week and my brother was able to to bring the cat in with no trouble and they answered any questions he had. They really go out of their way for their customers and their pets. Unfortunately, our cat did not make it and we had to put him down. Again I want to thank the staff for their kindness during this time. They even called to check in with us a few days after our cat had passed. They sent us a signed card from all staff along with an imprint of his paw print. It really means so much that they tried so hard. I hope if any of you read this please know how grateful we are. I have been blessed to know and love a VERY special staff member at Bayshore Animal Clinic, Lea Murray. Lea & I share a love of opossums, and we are both lucky enough to be "owned" by several non-releasables in our homes. I cannot begin to tell you the countless hours of research, studies and sleepless nights she has spent exploring, learning and sharing the knowledge she has discovered about these gentle, misunderstood creatures. Believe it or not, there are hundreds of us "possum lovers", throughout the United States, Europe, the UK, and Brazil. We really liked this veterinary office and raved about it to all of our friends, until our most recent experience where our little dog passed away. We made an appointment for our dog after she had issues with her back legs giving out from under her and had gone to the bathroom all over her crate (she never does this). We couldn't get into our usual doctors, Drewes or Panzarella,  so we saw the new vet, Dr Walsh. Already from experience my husband and a few friends thought our dog was dying (14 years old), but I still wanted to take her in. Dr Walsh did a full checkup and because she was walking fine at the time, she was convinced it had something to do with a 5 year old surgery in her knee. After paying for X-rays and feeling excited that she was in fact okay, we left. Over the next couple of days she was having the same problems with her back legs and defecating all over herself, so I called and said the diagnosis was wrong and I'd like to see one of our regular doctors. Dr. Panzarella called back and said they were going out of town and could only fit us in if we paid double for a drop in visit, and even to see Dr Walsh again we'd have to pay for another visit. I explained to her that we already paid a lot of money for our original visit plus X-rays and medication that we did not need, and that I believed the diagnosis was incorrect. She proceeded to tell me that we should understand they have to charge for every visit because my husband is a doctor and should understand (he's a doctor for the military and does not get paid like that, and I found this to be a very inappropriate comment). Anyway she told us she was very confident in Dr. Walsh and that she thought it was some obscure neurological disease. So we decided to make an appointment with Dr. Walsh again. On the way to the office my dog had what I believe was a heart attack in my lap and was in cardiac arrest when we got there. Dr Walsh was very understanding and accommodating for us, and helped us through the process of what to do after a dog passes away. My issue is after all of that, I never received one call, email, or anything to check in on us or apologize for the way things went down. Not one of her original doctors called to even give their condolences or see how we were doing. I understand diagnoses can be wrong and that she would have died anyway, but I felt the way it was handled was tacky. Also, why could so many others who had been through it see that she was dying, but our doctors (even after we told them this is what we thought) fought us on it and refused to acknowledge the truth? Was it all for money or did they truly believe my 14 year old ailing dog was fine? Although they acted like it during our visit, I now do not feel like they really cared about my dogs at all, and will be taking our other dog somewhere else after this experience. Read Less

My girlfriend took our dog there for a visit, this is her first time having and raising a dog. The visit was about $60 but somehow she walked out with $200 less in her pocket. They "suggested" that she should get a heartworm test, even though we give our dog her monthly pill for that. They told her the test is $90 and gave her a "free" pack of 6 pills for heratwork (even though we just bought 12 pills in May). When they called me this morning I confronted them about it since they just wrote us a prescription for 12 months worth of pills 4 months ago. They apologized and explained that the pills were $45 and we can return them. So basically they "sold" my girlfriend on the heartworm test, playing on her fear of what could happen if our dog will get it (again, our dog had no signs or symptoms) and hid the cost of the pills don't need hide inside the cost of the test we did not need. This clinic has had some changes in management in the 10 or so years I've been bringing my Old Lady Cat here, but for the most part the techs and Drs are passionate about the animals they care for and the people who love them. Bayshore Animal Clinic is absolutely fabulous! They went about and beyond for my sweet golden retriever when she suffered from, what looked like anaphylactic shock. Always a pleasure working with this team of professionals. They are quick to notice any potential problems with your pet and don't try to upsell you for something that really isn't needed. Best veterinarian I have ever had. I have a dog who has chronic issues and recently was diagnosed with a brain and spinal cord mass, Dr. Haworth has been absolutely amazing in treating my dog compassionately and giving such excellent medical care. He is also so emotionally supportive of me during this difficult and unpredictable time. He has also taken care of my healthy cats. He always takes the time to explain all of the medications and explains everything he is doing while examining my fur babies. When I call about a question about my pets, Dr Haworth calls back the same day! The office staff is so polite and helpful. The techs are always so happy to meet my pets. My dog was treated my Dr Drewes and Dr. Panzarella on Dr Haworths day off and they were both amazing and kind as well. Worst vet I have ever been to!!!!I took my dog in twice for a lump on him stomach, the vet told me it was nothing to worry about and if it was her dog she would not even bother removing it. After the third visit and her still telling me it was nothing I decided to get a second opinion at another vet and found out my dog had full blown CANCER! If I had the lump removed a year and a half before hand when I first took him in he might have a chance! I don't know how they are allowed to practice medicine on animals!! My fiancé and I have had the absolute best experience with Bayshore that one could ask for from a Vet. We've taken both of our German Shepherds to Dr. Panz for all of their needs and every experience has been truly exceptional. Last spring, Cosmo, our 11y/o GSD had to be put down due to a large cancer area which formed in her thoracic area and as difficult as the process can be emotionally, Dr. Panz and her team (Vicki and Jason) were professional, caring and respectful through the entire process. We even received a follow up call from Dr. Panz over the weekend to check in with us. We've since acquired another GSD, Zella, and needless to say a 70lb. puppy has been an incredible test of our patience!! Yet... Bayshore Animal Clinic exemplify a true meaning of great customer service.  The staff are friendly and Phillip welcomed me last week on my request to give me a tour of their facility.  It's clean and roomy and have dental equipment needed for my dog.  Today, I met my new Vet Dr Jacob Drewes and he is really nice and explained details about their Wellness program.  I felt very comfortable and so as my dog.  I read the Yelp reviews and so I tried it and I am glad I did it.  I just  moved here from UT and it's so hard to screen Vets offices but BAC is so far our Winner.  Another 5 STAR added. Why 5 stars? Because they've been as good as advertised.   ---   ---   ---I initially planned on taking my new puppy to the vet right by my house that I've taken my cat to, but Dr. Panzarella was recommended to me by two different people, so I figured I would go for it.The only bad thing is the commute! Once I'm there, things are really great. Dr. P and all of the techs are really great to chat with, and everyone is as friendly as possible. Unfortunately my cat needed to go to the vet, and I am still taking him to the vet near me, just because riding in the car is torture for him. This made me appreciate Bayshore Animal Clinic so much more, as my neighborhood vet was just nowhere near as nice of an experience. Read Less
