My experience with Dr. Hodge has been a very positive one. He is always caring and thoughtful. I have been to many veterinarians ranging from traditional to holistic medicine here in Tampa and Dr. Hodge has always had the best interest for my basset hound. Abacaxi, which means pineapple in Portuguese, who's nickname is Baca, is the love of my life. I have had Baca since he was 8 weeks old and now he'll be turning 15 in one week. On multiple occasions Dr. Hodge's care has saved his life allowing me to share more memories. What a gift he has given me. I am so grateful for his gentle and caring demeanor. I highly recommend him if you are considering a veterinarian. Alexia

They SAVED MY BABY Prissy’s life! I owe such a debt of gratitude to Dr. Hodge and his AMAZING TEAM!
I just moved to Tampa and my awesome cat (Prissy) got severely ill on the stressful 4-day trip here & needed immediate attention STAT!
She was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a couple months before our journey to Florida and once we got here she was so ill she was throwing up blood and blood clots, was in severe pain and I thought for sure they would recommend putting her down.
I was devastated. She was in so much pain and howling, but after my move, I couldn’t afford to put her in an emergency hospital. It’s the only time in her life I haven’t been able to afford whatever services she needed.
Our previous vet had been our vet for nearly a decade and I felt like a stranger in a strange town. How could I ever matter that much to a brand new Vet who’s never even met Prissy or me? I could barely get through making my first call as I was so emotional.
As soon as Cynthia kindly answered the phone, she let me know that they had nothing available that day. It was the Friday (before the long memorial day weekend) and it was urgent that I get in immediately. I explained my situation (through ugly sobs) and she said “let me call Dr. Hodge and see if there’s anyway he can can come in early today to see Prissy”. I was so amazed that she would even try and even more amazed when he said “yes” he would come in early.
From the moment I entered their office I felt such a deep level of love and care for me and my cat. I struck vet GOLD! I think about all the places I could have called and not one could trump Dr. Hodge and his team. They are now my vets for life.
Not only were they amazing and beyond – they show their care in everything they did and took so much time and care with us. Paula, the vet tech instantly fell in love with Chrissy and she showed so much love and kindness through her empathy and care. I was truly touched. And then I met Dr. Hodge who just was beyond what a kind, caring and beyond competent Vet should be. He loves animals. He fell in love with Prissy right away! I have never seen a vet who has taken more time and care even just listening to her heart – she took several minutes to really listen and hear what he needed to hear to diagnose her. He did that at every step of his thorough examination. I was so sad and anxious and they comforted me every step of the way. She was not in good shape at all.
She needed to go into the hospital for immediate care but I couldn’t afford it and I felt like a horrible pet parent. It’s the first time in my entire life I’ve owned an animal and get in this financial situation and it sucks big-time. The guilt was overwhelming.
So Dr. Hodge provides me with “option B” which allowed us to put subcutaneous fluids under her skin and they even allowed me to come in the following day (Saturday) to have it repeated and I provided home treatment for her at their recommendation.
I did not leave her side for days. I did not go anywhere – she slept right next to me on a towel with my hand on her nonstop. She’d lost over 10% of her bodyweight in one week – after losing 50% of her bodyweight two months earlier when she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. The medicine they gave me helped her immediately quit throwing up and she was able to keep food down. We got through a very tough week. We had our follow-up appointment one week later and to my surprise she’d gained 1 pound – over 10% of her bodyweight & she had pulled through the worst of it! She is now doing better than she has in months and thriving. I literally owe her life and 2nd chance to Dr. Hodge, Paula, Cynthia and Eniko ( The other great vet tech that helped care for her with Cynthia on Saturday the following day). I don’t even know how to say thank you for giving me my baby’s life back. I cherish every moment with her and her brother Jake. My sister is now a customer due to the care she witnessed being provided to me and my baby. 👍

My usual vet was closed for a week and I desperately needed to take my cat to see someone ASAP (he threw up a foot long worm). I called Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre in the morning and they were so nice! They had no problem squeezing me in that afternoon, and they even waive your first visit fee (which is normally $79, kind of high). I was immediately taken into a private exam room after walking through the lobby that smelled relaxing from their essential oil diffuser. The vet tech was very friendly (even put squeeze cheese on his finger for my cat to lick off), asked me the usual questions, quoted me on what the service fees would be, and went to get the vet. We only waited a few minutes until the extremely friendly veterinarian came in and examined my kitty, explained the course of treatment, and took my cat back for his shots (POOR BABY!) If it weren't for the high service fees, this place would get 5 Stars!

We recently adopted a rescue ShihPoo dog, and we needed to get her established with a local veterinarian. Dr. Hodge and the team at Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre have been excellent with Luna (and her human mom!). Their love for animals is clearly visible. They also identified an infection, which was quickly resolved. Highly recommended!

Dr. Hodges does just that! Dr. H is thorough with his examinations and has diligent patience in explaining his observations to you and ensures that you fully understand the health issues of your pet, not to feel shamed or embarrassed but on the contrary, you feel encouraged, grateful and empowered. Dr. Hodges is very professional, but more importantly, he and his staff make you feel as family. His our Dr. Dolittle!!!! (really, I think he talks to them!)

We just had our first appointment yesterday for our new 13 week old Mastiff puppy. We had lost our last dog and was seeing another vet which failed to see some signs of a major health issue which unfortunately resulted in having to put our dog down. I wanted to find another vet clinic that was thorough and provided excellent care. I researched so many vet's in the WC and Tampa areas and Dr. Hodge and his staff had top notch reviews so I made Riley's first appointment. Our fir...st visit was excellent and felt immediately comfortable with the care my puppy was going to receive after meeting with Paula. She explained next steps that were needed and addressed all concerns that we had. Then we met with Dr. Hodge and you can really see he truly loves working with animals and my pup loved him! We moved to Florida in 2015 and chose Cross Creek as our vet based off of good reviews. They've now been our vet for 2 years and we absolutely love them! Our dogs are like part of the family there and actually enjoy going in for a visit. Eniko, Paula, and Dr. Hodge are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We actually moved away from our original home in New Tampa and now drive an hour just to see them. We love Cross Creek!

Not impressed with the service we have received here. While they have a friendly front, the Employees/the Dr here have tried to pressure us into unnecessary procedures that would have done more harm than good for our animals. Either they have no clue what they are talking about or practicing animal medicine with unethical procedures. Either way its not good. Prices are very high too. Look elsewhere.

We moved from Michigan and were looking for a vet back in the fall. We called looking for an appointment for a pup who has had a lot of bad luck health wise. We wouldn't dream of taking him anywhere else. I believe Dr. Hodge is the best vet we've taken our animals to. He is thorough and really cares. We've made probably close to a dozen trips since with both our dog and cat and will continue to return. Thanks for taking such good care of them. We can tell how much you all care. :)

I took my dog to the center one time for the annual vaccine/heartworm checkup and to get an estimate on teeth extractions. Two years and an out-of-state move later, I am still receiving emails and post cards advertising their services. Mind you, I never updated my new address with them and I have unsubscribed from their emails countless times. For the average service we received, it is definitely not worth the hassle of being spammed for 2 years and counting.
The actual visit was what you would expect from a private vet office. They were very friendly and seemed to like animals well enough. However, the business aspect kicks in very quick. They were eager to push various payment plans I didn't need by telling me my insurance won't cover anything in the visit - it was covered. They were also very pushy to change the heartworm medication so that I could purchase it through their online pharmacy. It's not worth the hassle, there are plenty of other offices to visit who are not trying to scam money from you or spam your mailboxes.

I am so glad to have found Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre. Dr. Hodge, Paula, and Eniko have taken wonderful care of Phoebe throughout a multitude of issues. Dr. Hodge takes his time to give thorough explanations of treatment plans and answer all of my questions. Phoebe is always happy to see them, which speaks highly to the level of care they provide. Our dog had a potential emergency illness, and we called Cross Creek in an effort to get an ultrasound right away. Folks there went above and beyond to bring in their radiologist on super short notice, actually allowed me in the room for the procedure and have been super sensitive and caring. Very impressed with the facility and staff overall and especially Dr Hodge and Paula!

We have been coming to Cross Creek Animal Medical Center for four years now and have always had a positive experience. Both of the doctors and all of the staff have a genuine love and care for pets. We are greeted by name every time we visit, and they remember us and our stories. I know that my dog and cat are always in good hands and treated with the highly qualified professionals. I have been taking all four of my dogs to Cross Creek Animal Medical Center since we relocated here to Tampa almost three years ago. Excellent team of people! Everyone is very down to earth, easy to talk to, easy to understand regarding medical advice and instructions, and a group of individuals truly committed to their patients and patients' families!
Keep up the excellent and amazing work you do! I highly recommend Cross Creek Animal Medical Center to any pet owner who truly cares for their pet's well-being!!

We just recently switched to Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre. It is the closest option, but also came highly recommended from friends. We are very happy with the attention we are getting there. Our two Bassets are getting the attention and service they need as they venture well into their adult years. We couldn't be happier with the service and great follow up being provided!!!

This is an amazing group of people! Where traditional medicine offered no hope for my kitty, they did, through holistic treatments. She responded VERY well to the acupuncture and the supplements we have been giving for the past 2 weeks. While there might not be a cure for the cancer, there is hope for her happiness and pain mgmt while she is with me. It is ALL about them and their comfort anyways, and this group of people understand that. They are direct and honest and don't hype things up or give false hope. I appreciate their approach to these difficult issues.

I experienced care with 2 doctors here. The first doctor, a female, name I can't remember, seemed to be a little flighty to say the least. She struggled with forming her own opinions and seemed to latch onto insignicant information in order to try to appease me with a bird brain prognosis. I left my appointment with her very frazzled and out $350ish bucks! I could go on and on with ridiculous statements that came from her mouth, but I won't, just avoid her like the plague. My next interactions with the practice were with Dr. Hodges. He was professional, well spoken, and knowledgable. The complete opposite of the female doctor. He spent time with me on the phone exploring several options and he emailed as well. He was available and responsive and that is appreciated. The staff at this office are kind and helpful.

Outstanding practice! Was so impressed with how everyone is so caring and kind. My doggie has never been more thoroughly examined in her life. Normally she is a nervous wreck at the vet but she was as calm as could be ~~ shocking!!! Guess she knew she was in good hands. The follow up calls were much appreciated; no "no news is good news" with these folks. I would not hesitate to recommend Cross Creek to anyone. And by the way, this was my first visit!!

Even for a basic check-up and leaving with medicine it ends up costing me hundreds that I can't keep affording after adopting additional pets. Wish I could still go! BEST PLACE IN TOWN.

Dr. Hodge helped us when our first cat was having heart failure and we had to put her down. He was so caring and attentive to her and our needs. I would definitely recommend them for great care they give!!

I was fortunate to find Dr. Hodge years ago when I moved to Tampa. Having worked at numerous veterinary hospitals as a vet tech, finding a vet that I liked was no easy task. Dr. Hodge was the very first (of no less than 6 different vets) that did a thorough enough exam to find juvenile cataracts in my cat Sebastian. When we got our second cat, Bacchus, he treated him with nothing but great care.Bacchus just recently had a tumor removed, and no, it wasn't cheap. He had an unforeseen complication a few days after surgery which required a few extra visits. In frustration I spoke with Dr. Hodge about the additional cost of all these visits and he worked with me, happily. Yes, it ended up costing me more than I anticipated, but surgery has its risks, and my Bacchus was on the bad end of that spectrum. He's now healing beautifully, and thankfully is cancer free.First and foremost, this is a business. Cross Creek AMC has bills to pay, they can't provide top notch care for free. Are there less expensive hospitals to go to? Yes. And there are a ton that are closer to me. I drive over 30 miles to get to this hospital, and I will continue to do so. But you cannot purchase a Porsche with a Kia's budget. Our pets don't have a choice in who treats them. It's our job to find them the best care possible. I take a very conservative path with veterinary care for my cats. I don't vaccinate or do anything that I don't feel is necessary. Dr. Hodge and their staff always let me know what my options are but never pressure me to do what I choose not to do. I've worked for vets that flat out refused to treat clients that didn't follow their exact protocol with exams, vaccinations, bloodwork, etc. CCAMC is not one of those places. Dr. Hodge understands the needs and desires of every client and patient. I always get follow up "How's he doing?" calls after each visit. Most vets don't do that. Happy to be a client of theirs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anybody.

I just recently adopted a beagle from the rescue I volunteer with. As a condition of adoption, you have to take your new pet to the vet within 10 days of taking them home. This was my first visit to Cross Creek Animal Medical Center and I was very impressed! Dr. Hodge obviously cares for and knows a lot about animals. While he is somewhat 'medicine' focused, he likes to try natural and/or organic supplements instead of overloading the pets with lots of other meds. My dog, being a rescue, has a lot of issues so I appreciate him giving her meds that not only have less of a potential reaction, but saves me money and seems healthier. The techs and office staff are amazing too. Every single person chatted with us and introduced themselves. I even received a call a couple of days later, just to check in and see how Arielle was doing.

I predict clients who take their pets to Dr. Hodge are either going to like him or seriously dislike him - not much in between. His office is simply a convenience for people who live in the immediate area of Cross Creek. My experience with him and my cat was entirely negative beyond the fact that he has to be among the top most expensive vets in Tampa (or maybe the entire state). Dr. Hodge charges for every small detail and you almost cannot walk out of his office without at least a $200-500 charge. Having been to other vets in the region, I guarantee his care is no better and not even as good as many other more compassionate and competent vets.He asserts that his care is top-notch (his personal testimonial) and yet I find him to simply be over the top expensive and rather uncaring. I would even go so far as to say unprofessional, but I'm only speaking from my personal experience with my pet. I strongly urge prospective clients to consult with a different veterinarian but if you have tons of money to burn, feel free to pay triple the prices for common procedures and even a lack of prognosis in the case of my pet for a ridiculous amount.

My experience with Dr. Hodge has been a very positive one. He is always caring and thoughtful. I have been to many veterinarians ranging from traditional to holistic medicine here in Tampa and Dr. Hodge has always had the best interest for my basset hound. Abacaxi, which means pineapple in Portuguese, who's nickname is Baca, is the love of my life. I have had Baca since he was 8 weeks old and now he'll be turning 15 in one week. On multiple occasions Dr. Hodge's care has saved his life allowing me to share more memories. What a gift he has given me. I am so grateful for his gentle and caring demeanor. They SAVED MY BABY Prissy’s life! I owe such a debt of gratitude to Dr. Hodge and his AMAZING TEAM!
I just moved to Tampa and my awesome cat (Prissy) got severely ill on the stressful 4-day trip here & needed immediate attention STAT!
She was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a couple months before our journey to Florida and once we got here she was so ill she was throwing up blood and blood clots, was in severe pain and I thought for sure they would recommend putting her down.
I was devastated. She was in so much pain and howling, but after my move, I couldn’t afford to put her in an emergency hospital. It’s the only time in her life I haven’t been able to afford whatever services she needed.
Our previous vet had been our vet for nearly a decade and I felt like a stranger in a strange town. How could I ever matter that much to a brand new Vet who’s never even met Prissy or me? I could barely get through making my first call as I was so emotional.
As soon as Cynthia kindly answered the phone, she let me know that they had nothing available that day. It was the Friday (before the long memorial day weekend) and it was urgent that I get in immediately. I explained my situation (through ugly sobs) and she said “let me call Dr. Hodge and see if there’s anyway he can can come in early today to see Prissy”. I was so amazed that she would even try and even more amazed when he said “yes” he would come in early.
From the moment I entered their office I felt such a deep level of love and care for me and my cat. I struck vet GOLD! I think about all the places I could have called and not one could trump Dr. Hodge and his team. They are now my vets for life.
Not only were they amazing and beyond – they show their care in everything they did and took so much time and care with us. Paula, the vet tech instantly fell in love with Chrissy and she showed so much love and kindness through her empathy and care. I was truly touched. And then I met Dr. Hodge who just was beyond what a kind, caring and beyond competent Vet should be. He loves animals. He fell in love with Prissy right away! I have never seen a vet who has taken more time and care even just listening to her heart – she took several minutes to really listen and hear what he needed to hear to diagnose her. He did that at every step of his thorough examination. I was so sad and anxious and they comforted me every step of the way. She was not in good shape at all.
She needed to go into the hospital for immediate care but I couldn’t afford it and I felt like a horrible pet parent. It’s the first time in my entire life I’ve owned an animal and get in this financial situation and it sucks big-time. The guilt was overwhelming.
So Dr. Hodge provides me with “option B” which allowed us to put subcutaneous fluids under her skin and they even allowed me to come in the following day (Saturday) to have it repeated and I provided home treatment for her at their recommendation.
I did not leave her side for days. I did not go anywhere – she slept right next to me on a towel with my hand on her nonstop. She’d lost over 10% of her bodyweight in one week – after losing 50% of her bodyweight two months earlier when she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. The medicine they gave me helped her immediately quit throwing up and she was able to keep food down. We got through a very tough week. We had our follow-up appointment one week later and to my surprise she’d gained 1 pound – over 10% of her bodyweight & she had pulled through the worst of it! She is now doing better than she has in months and thriving. I literally owe her life and 2nd chance to Dr. Hodge, Paula, Cynthia and Eniko ( The other great vet tech that helped care for her with Cynthia on Saturday the following day). I don’t even know how to say thank you for giving me my baby’s life back. I cherish every moment with her and her brother Jake. My sister is now a customer due to the care she witnessed being provided to me and my baby. 👍

My usual vet was closed for a week and I desperately needed to take my cat to see someone ASAP (he threw up a foot long worm). I called Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre in the morning and they were so nice! They had no problem squeezing me in that afternoon, and they even waive your first visit fee (which is normally $79, kind of high). I was immediately taken into a private exam room after walking through the lobby that smelled relaxing from their essential oil diffuser. The vet tech was very friendly (even put squeeze cheese on his finger for my cat to lick off), asked me the usual questions, quoted me on what the service fees would be, and went to get the vet. We only waited a few minutes until the extremely friendly veterinarian came in and examined my kitty, explained the course of treatment, and took my cat back for his shots (POOR BABY!) If it weren't for the high service fees, this place would get 5 Stars!

Dr. Hodge and the team at Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre have been excellent with Luna (and her human mom!). Their love for animals is clearly visible. Dr. H is thorough with his examinations and has diligent patience in explaining his observations to you and ensures that you fully understand the health issues of your pet, not to feel shamed or embarrassed but on the contrary, you feel encouraged, grateful and empowered. We just had our first appointment yesterday for our new 13 week old Mastiff puppy. We had lost our last dog and was seeing another vet which failed to see some signs of a major health issue which unfortunately resulted in having to put our dog down. I wanted to find another vet clinic that was thorough and provided excellent care. I researched so many vet's in the WC and Tampa areas and Dr. Hodge and his staff had top notch reviews so I made Riley's first appointment. Our fir...st visit was excellent and felt immediately comfortable with the care my puppy was going to receive after meeting with Paula. She explained next steps that were needed and addressed all concerns that we had. Then we met with Dr. Hodge and you can really see he truly loves working with animals and my pup loved him! Our dogs are like part of the family there and actually enjoy going in for a visit. Eniko, Paula, and Dr. Hodge are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We actually moved away from our original home in New Tampa and now drive an hour just to see them. We love Cross Creek!

Either they have no clue what they are talking about or practicing animal medicine with unethical procedures. Either way its not good. Prices are very high too. Look elsewhere.

We wouldn't dream of taking him anywhere else. I believe Dr. Hodge is the best vet we've taken our animals to. He is thorough and really cares. We've made probably close to a dozen trips since with both our dog and cat and will continue to return. Thanks for taking such good care of them. We can tell how much you all care. :)

I took my dog to the center one time for the annual vaccine/heartworm checkup and to get an estimate on teeth extractions. Two years and an out-of-state move later, I am still receiving emails and post cards advertising their services. Mind you, I never updated my new address with them and I have unsubscribed from their emails countless times. For the average service we received, it is definitely not worth the hassle of being spammed for 2 years and counting.
The actual visit was what you would expect from a private vet office. They were very friendly and seemed to like animals well enough. However, the business aspect kicks in very quick. They were eager to push various payment plans I didn't need by telling me my insurance won't cover anything in the visit - it was covered. They were also very pushy to change the heartworm medication so that I could purchase it through their online pharmacy. It's not worth the hassle, there are plenty of other offices to visit who are not trying to scam money from you or spam your mailboxes.

Everyone is very down to earth, easy to talk to, easy to understand regarding medical advice and instructions, and a group of individuals truly committed to their patients and patients' families!

We just recently switched to Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre. It is the closest option, but also came highly recommended from friends. We are very happy with the attention we are getting there. Our two Bassets are getting the attention and service they need as they venture well into their adult years. We couldn't be happier with the service and great follow up being provided!!!

Cross creek is great! We're new to town, and after researching a few vets in the area, we thought cross creek seemed like the best one. AS hard as it is to have to leave my four legged children behind when we have to travel, I did not have as heavy a heart when I knew they would be in excellent, loving hands staying with the Cross Creek Animal Medical crew :0) It is such a huge relief to know that my dogs are not only being well taken care of while I'm away, but it is so comforting to know that they are getting all the love and attention they truly need.Thank you, once again, Cross Creek Animal Medical Center for doing such an amazing job and being truly committed to doing it at such an exemplary level! This is an amazing group of people! Where traditional medicine offered no hope for my kitty, they did, through holistic treatments. She responded VERY well to the acupuncture and the supplements we have been giving for the past 2 weeks. While there might not be a cure for the cancer, there is hope for her happiness and pain mgmt while she is with me. It is ALL about them and their comfort anyways, and this group of people understand that. They are direct and honest and don't hype things up or give false hope. I appreciate their approach to these difficult issues.

I experienced care with 2 doctors here. The first doctor, a female, name I can't remember, seemed to be a little flighty to say the least. She struggled with forming her own opinions and seemed to latch onto insignicant information in order to try to appease me with a bird brain prognosis. I left my appointment with her very frazzled and out $350ish bucks! I could go on and on with ridiculous statements that came from her mouth, but I won't, just avoid her like the plague. My next interactions with the practice were with Dr. Hodges. He was professional, well spoken, and knowledgable. The complete opposite of the female doctor. He spent time with me on the phone exploring several options and he emailed as well. He was available and responsive and that is appreciated. The staff at this office are kind and helpful.

Outstanding practice! Was so impressed with how everyone is so caring and kind. My doggie has never been more thoroughly examined in her life. Normally she is a nervous wreck at the vet but she was as calm as could be ~~ shocking!!! Guess she knew she was in good hands. The follow up calls were much appreciated; no "no news is good news" with these folks. I would not hesitate to recommend Cross Creek to anyone. And by the way, this was my first visit!!

I love Dr. Hodge, the caring nature of the staff and have gone here for over 10 years. I recently had to start bringing my pets to a place I don't agree going to, but the costs at Dr. Hodge are just too expensive. Even for a basic check-up and leaving with medicine it ends up costing me hundreds that I can't keep affording after adopting additional pets. Wish I could still go! BEST PLACE IN TOWN.

Dr. Hodge helped us when our first cat was having heart failure and we had to put her down. He was so caring and attentive to her and our needs. I would definitely recommend them for great care they give!!

I was fortunate to find Dr. Hodge years ago when I moved to Tampa. Having worked at numerous veterinary hospitals as a vet tech, finding a vet that I liked was no easy task. Dr. Hodge was the very first (of no less than 6 different vets) that did a thorough enough exam to find juvenile cataracts in my cat Sebastian. When we got our second cat, Bacchus, he treated him with nothing but great care.Bacchus just recently had a tumor removed, and no, it wasn't cheap. He had an unforeseen complication a few days after surgery which required a few extra visits. In frustration I spoke with Dr. Hodge about the additional cost of all these visits and he worked with me, happily. Yes, it ended up costing me more than I anticipated, but surgery has its risks, and my Bacchus was on the bad end of that spectrum. He's now healing beautifully, and thankfully is cancer free.First and foremost, this is a business. Cross Creek AMC has bills to pay, they can't provide top notch care for free. Are there less expensive hospitals to go to? Yes. And there are a ton that are closer to me. I drive over 30 miles to get to this hospital, and I will continue to do so. But you cannot purchase a Porsche with a Kia's budget. Our pets don't have a choice in who treats them. It's our job to find them the best care possible. I take a very conservative path with veterinary care for my cats. I don't vaccinate or do anything that I don't feel is necessary. Dr. Hodge and their staff always let me know what my options are but never pressure me to do what I choose not to do. I've worked for vets that flat out refused to treat clients that didn't follow their exact protocol with exams, vaccinations, bloodwork, etc. CCAMC is not one of those places. Dr. Hodge understands the needs and desires of every client and patient. I always get follow up "How's he doing?" calls after each visit. Most vets don't do that. Happy to be a client of theirs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anybody.

I just recently adopted a beagle from the rescue I volunteer with. As a condition of adoption, you have to take your new pet to the vet within 10 days of taking them home. This was my first visit to Cross Creek Animal Medical Center and I was very impressed! Dr. Hodge obviously cares for and knows a lot about animals. While he is somewhat 'medicine' focused, he likes to try natural and/or organic supplements instead of overloading the pets with lots of other meds. My dog, being a rescue, has a lot of issues so I appreciate him giving her meds that not only have less of a potential reaction, but saves me money and seems healthier. The techs and office staff are amazing too. Every single person chatted with us and introduced themselves. I even received a call a couple of days later, just to check in and see how Arielle was doing.

I predict clients who take their pets to Dr. Hodge are either going to like him or seriously dislike him - not much in between. His office is simply a convenience for people who live in the immediate area of Cross Creek. My experience with him and my cat was entirely negative beyond the fact that he has to be among the top most expensive vets in Tampa (or maybe the entire state). Dr. Hodge charges for every small detail and you almost cannot walk out of his office without at least a $200-500 charge. Having been to other vets in the region, I guarantee his care is no better and not even as good as many other more compassionate and competent vets.He asserts that his care is top-notch (his personal testimonial) and yet I find him to simply be over the top expensive and rather uncaring. I would even go so far as to say unprofessional, but I'm only speaking from my personal experience with my pet. I strongly urge prospective clients to consult with a different veterinarian but if you have tons of money to burn, feel free to pay triple the prices for common procedures and even a lack of prognosis in the case of my pet for a ridiculous amount.
