I have been taking my dog to Gregory Animal Clinic for 2-1/2 years now. Without asking for a specific vet when I first called for an appointment I got Dr. Ryan and I could not be happier. What a wonderful man and veterinarian. My Dog Buddy was 14 years old and developed a lot of medical problems that meant he had no quality of life. I had him put to sleep on the 28th of Dec 2017. Dr Ryan could not have been more sympathetic. I think he had tears in his eyes as he watched me holding Buddy as he passed away. And I also can't say enough good things about the staff at the clinic. Can't say enough good things about the staff and Vetrinarians at Gregory Veterinary Clinic. They provide excellent service at a fair price from the moment you walk in the door until the moment you walk out. I've met both Dr. Jerry and Dr. Ryan but have only had my dog seen by Dr. Ryan so far, and I was very impressed with his interest in spending time talking with me during just a routine check up for my dog. My experience with past vets is a quick in/out to check my pet(s) with minimal interaction except to ask whatever questions necessary to assess the situation. This isn't the case with this vet. All of the staff have been very personable and accessible to me. They remind me of an old country vet that will shoot you straight without running up your bill with unnecessary tests/charges. We have been going to Gregory Veterinary Clinic ever since we moved to Tampa.  Dr. Ryan is great.  However today we had a very bad experience with the clinic.  This morning one of our dogs got their leg cut open.  It wasn't bleeding but I could tell she would need some stitches.   I called the office and explained what happen and that we would need to see a vet today.  The woman told me they were all booked up and she can get me on Monday.  That's 5 days from now!  I thought she didn't hear me correctly the first time.  So I explained again about the open gash on her leg and that it would need to be fixed today not 5 days from now.  Her response was "Would you like to take the Monday appointment."  I could see waiting 5 days if I was asking to be squeezed in for a normal exam but not for an accident. I ended up taking her to the Emergency Vet and they had her stitched up in 10 minutes.  This is something Gregory Veterinary Clinic could have and should have done for us.   I am very disappointed in them.  I hope this was a mistake by the woman answering the phone and not Dr. Ryan belief on handling a situation like this.  To be fair Dr. Ryan wasn't in so I couldn't talk to him about this situation. I am so happy we changed vets! Not only were the girls in the front helpful with setting up our dogs apt, but they also were patient with our previous vet who sent the wrong records twice! We came from Keene and I am very happy we switched. Dr. Ryan and his staff were so kind and friendly to our boy! Hard to get appts, walk-ins discouraged even for urgent care, family owned so when there is a family event they close. The doctors are very friendly when you get to see them and don't seem to push for unnecessary things. Read Less

I had an appointment scheduled and upon arrival I was informed the appointment had been cancelled. I said there must've been a mistake, there was no cancellation. She then became very rude to me and insisted the appointment was cancelled, and had created an entire story about cancellation that never happened. When I told her she must be mixing me up with someone else, she called me a liar and told me I'd have to reschedule to another day. My puppy is sick I told her and needed to be seen today, but she insisted there was nothing and that I had cancelled and the appointment was given away. The manager called after I left and said there had been a mix up and offered to reschedule. Mistakes do happen I understand, but rather than resolving it in a friendly way, she decided to call me a liar and refuse to have my puppy seen. I brought my puppy somewhere else. Read Less

Dr. Gregory and Dr. Ryan are absolutely amazing!!! The entire office treats all of us like family!! Everyone is always so very understanding and very friendly!! My husband and I moved from out of state to the Tampa area in February 2015 and my sister and Brother in law have been taking their boys here for a few years now. Once we moved here, I've been bringing my 11 year old Yorkie who has a lot of health issues and my 8 year old Chihuahua to them. We then moved to South Brandon mid 2015 and we continue to travel to them. As long as we are in the central Florida area, we will continue to take them here. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Ryan! We found Dr. Ryan on the recommendation of my Mom. Our dogs are our babies and I am extremely particular about vets. We have a golden doodle with Addison's disease who requires a monthly shot to stay alive and a vet who is seasoned with this type of condition. Dr. Ryan has a few dogs with Addison's currently under his care and knows what he is doing. Dr Ryan and Dr Gregory are the best!  Every time you bring your pet in they treat them as if they were their own. I remember the first time I went Dr. Ryan got down on the floor to greet my dog, retriever collie mix so not a small dog, and loved all over him.  The technicians, assistants, and front desk woman are just as warm and caring.  I have been through a few vets since I moved to this area but I will tell you I won't need to be looking for one any more. We saw Dr. Gregory senior with our cat Ozzy on 6/23/15. We adopted an approx 2 yr old Ozzy from a rescue in late Feb. this year and he's been healthy except for what we believed were parasites and a tapeworm. The rescue supplied some medicines and some we purchased from our existing vet (not Dr. Gregory) to try and rid him of the problem (had bloody stools). Long story short, we were so exasperated and concerned with the ongoing problem and our vet's lack of knowledge and game plan (he just wanted to throw money at it - ultrasounds - blood work etc) that I started my search for a new vet. After "vetting" about 6 different vets we finally settled on Dr. Gregory. Boy am I glad we found him. My husband and I feel SO much better about our kitty's situation and health now that we've seen Dr. Gregory. It was apparent that he is knowledgeable and took so much time to explain in detail why he was recommending the "plan of action" that we are to carry out and actually did not recommend blood work and a bunch of exploratory testing as a first step. The price for the exam and the one pill he gave Ozzy was so very reasonable. It was obvious to us both that he truly cared about our cat's health and making us feel comfortable that he was OK. I will be bringing all 3 of my cats to this clinic from this point forward! As a final note, with all of the foreign vets (nothing against them just being honest) it was really nice to be able to understand and communicate with Dr. Gregory as we always felt like we never really were communicating well with our last vet. I must say, I love going to Dr Ryan with my dogs (the son). I've never had a vet cut my dogs nails and give him shots and draw blood right in front of me. He's friendly, knowledgable and doesn't talk you into things you don't need. The techs have all been wonderful too. The only issue I've had is an attitude on multiple occasions from Deborah at the front desk. I wouldn't want her representing my business. She is condescending and rude. Father and son team, both very honest and genuine people. They do not do just for the sake of doing them- they will not run you bill up unnecessarily like some vet clinics do. They take a cost effective, conservative, common sense approach to taking care of your pets. They obviously love what they do, and they take the time to speak with you and explain things. If you call with a question, you will likely end up on the phone with the vet, not a technician. Can't say enough good about this place. I was hesitant in searching for another vet because I wanted someone who was old fashioned; you know the Dr's that truly care about their patients (pets), treat you with respect and understanding and overall want to have the best interest for the animal. I am SO pleased that I went to see Dr Gregory and my dog Marley (who is normally skittish) warmed up to him and his staff almost immediately. I loved how the office staff was friendly and came out from behind the counter to say hello to Marley and very courteous to me. Dr Gregory has great prices and is a polite gentleman! I loved the ""family atmosphere"" when I walked in the door there; the Doctor even came back out while I was paying and offered me a doughnut!
