I brought my dachshund to Veterinary surgical services last week for emergency back surgery. She had lost the use of her back legs due to slipped discs that were pressing on her spine. I’m am so happy with the way Dr Hay and his staff took care of my sweet girl. Dr. Hay is excellent. My dog dislocated her hip two years ago but thanks to Dr. Hay she walks 1 to 1.5 miles per day and plays like a puppy. From our initial phone call all the way up through our follow up appointment 8 weeks after surgery, I could not have asked for a better experience. Dr. Hay and his staff are amazing! What an amazing place from beginning to end. I can't begin to say enough good things about this office. Tracey the receptionist was awesome when I called in. My dog dislocated his hip this past weekend and they took me right in Monday afternoon from my vet’s referral. Dr. Thomas and her assistant were very thorough and explained in detail what they were going to do. No surprises one price for everything. I called the day of his surgery (Tuesday morning), because I had forgotten to give two of his medications to them and they told me how Cubbie was doing and let me know they would call me before and after his surgery. They were true to their word. He did great. I called the next morning to see how he was and again the overnight staff was awesome in taking time to tell me how he was doing. Our vet referred is for surgery for our dog's knees. She spoke very highly of this group and I can definitely understand why. We wanted to make sure we sought more than one opinion, and this was our second opinion. First and foremost, the staff and Dr. Hay are absolutely wonderful. They are very kind and made us feel at ease with deciding to go through with the surgery. The price was completely reasonable. We were also scheduled quickly for the consult, as well as the surgery. My husband and I both work in the medical field, so bedside manner is important to us, even if it's for our pet. Dr. Hay personally called after the surgery to provide an update. Our dog had to stay the night and they have staff 24/7 caring for the animals. That was very comforting for us, especially because you can call anytime during the night for an update. (I'm honestly surprised I didn't call every two hours--I'm THAT pet mom...but we were very confident our dog was in the best care possible.) Such an amazing staff...the best we've ever seen! They love what they do and you can tell. Our dog Lucky tore a ligament and mencius in his leg and needed surgery right away. They walked us through everything and helped us to understand the procedure. As soon as I walked in the door to drop him off for surgery I felt as ease. Dr. Thomas and the entire staff are AMAZING!!! Our dog, Bella, recently had to have surgery on discs in her neck and everyone was great with her. It was an extremely stressful time for us as you can imagine but the staff was so friendly and encouraging which made the whole process easier. Dr Hay is amazing, a real expert who seems passionate about helping pets and owners, not maximizing profits.  He was able to do a closed reduction on a cat dislocate when others said surgery was required.  Prices are very fair.   A med tech is there overnight and you can call for an update anytime.  Seeing Dr Hay is a big relief because you no longer worry about searching for a better treatment or that you are being financially abused. Dr. Hay and his staff are the best! Our dachshund, Watson had surgery for 2 herniated discs and was losing the use of his back legs. Not only did Dr. Hay call as soon as the surgery was complete for an update we were able to call after hours and talk to the person caring for Watson during the night. Great peace of mind! Our discharge instructions were clear and made caring for Watson at home very easy. The staff went above and beyond to make us and our pet feel cared for. I have the utmost respect for Dr. Hay. He is an amazing person and veterinarian. You will not meet a more compassionate, caring, qualified surgeon in the area, (and I know because I have worked with several). Dr. Hay has done numerous surgeries for my dogs over the years, everything from exploratory surgery to MPL to apocrine adenocarcinoma removal to liposcarcoma removal and unfortunately has had to put two of my dogs to sleep for inoperable cancer and a cerebellar tumor. I bring him all kind of unusual cases and he always greets me with a smile and asks what I have for him. I believe that between my dogs and my families dogs we are on about surgery number 15 with Dr.Hay. I will not allow any other veterinarian to preform surgery on my pets. His pain management is top notch and no animal sits in pain. His OR is immaculate and his equipment is better then a human facility. You will not be sorry that you have brought your beloved pet here. I recently took my dog to Dr. Hay at Veterinary Surgical Services for cruciate surgery on his back knee. I highly recommend Dr. Hay and Veterinary Surgical Services, and would not go anywhere else should he need their care again. All of the staff is extremely nice and knowledgeable. I received a call immediately after my dog entered recovery, and when I called after hours to check on him my calls were answered promptly, and the staff member that answered the phone was very knowledgeable and up to date on how my dog was doing. I had a great experience with the doctors and staff. My 6 yr old american pit bull terrier broke his leg. Dr Thomas did the surgery. She did an awesome job. He has no scar and no limp. The staff was great even when I called at 3 am and about half a dozen times during the day. The break was so bad they kept him for a month. I couldn't have asked for a better place for my pet. I was reffered to Veterinary Surgical Services by our primary veternarian after my two year old German Shepherd tore her ACL.  We called their clinic and we're immediately squeezed in to be seen by the doctor. We arrived and were pleased to see a very clean and welcoming hospital. This of course comforted me far more than it ever did Betty (the German Shepherd). The staff at the front were very kind, considerate, and attentive. We soon saw Dr Hay's for a consultation and examination, who later ended up performing her surgery. The surgery was very reasonably priced and clear surgical instructions were given ahead of time. I was very pleased with the time that the doctor and his staff took to give me status updates on her surgery and progress aftwards. I have no doubt she was in the BEST hands.
