The amount of compassion and true and honest love for animals is apparent from the moment you walk in the door. I grew up in Wellswood and they have been my choice since I moved back to Tampa. Peoples emotional connection to their pets sometimes has them looking to blame the ones who are truly trying to help them. I only say this because when I read one of the reviews , it was so hard for me to think they were talking about the place I drove 45 minutes to get to. That is how much I trust the staff here. I lost my baby 3 months ago. She was only treated at Wellswood. I did have to go to Blue Pearl a few times,but they fit me in the following Monday to go over the treatment the Blue Pearl suggested. They honestly told me that they agreed with the diagnosis. I ran into hard times when a local attorney stole my life's savings. They told me about a non profit vet that would help. So you see, they are not in it just for the money. They listened, they cared and I knew the only thing that matter was my precious girl. Three months ago, was the hardest day of my life. She was my life and her life was coming to an end. After the weekend, I pretty much knew that she was near the end. They brought me tea and went over the tests and has hard as it was to do and hear, I knew what I had to do. The love and compassion the staff showed me was priceless. I let her go to the rainbow bridge ,but I was devastated. I recently rescued a 10 year old 1/2 blind little girl ,that they think is about 10 years old. Because she was a rescue the actual office visit, was free. She need medication, which of course I had to pay for. While I was in the treatment room, I looked up and saw the picture I gave them of the dog I lost. I knew that my new girl was just where she should be. Dr Saavadra was great and I miss him. The new staff has continued on with the same compassion he always showed me. They are truly the BEST Thank for for loving both of my baddies. Dr O rocks and the whole staff are wonderful.

I just wanted to share with everyone about the team at Wellswood Midtown, I have 3 Dachshound's i have since had to put down one Lady due to cushing disease i also have another Gina that has the disease and Dr. O and her team take the utmost care and give so much compassion to all my babies there is not a time i bring my dogs in that everyone in that office does not acknowledge my babies Dr. O had concerns about the feel of Gina's belly and test was done and she had a tumor attached to her spline and surgery had to be done immediately. Dr. O and her team were there till 8pm that night to take care of my baby knowing how upset my husband and i were i will be forever grateful to everyone in that office.
So a great big THANK YOU to you all.

I requested a spay/neuter for a mom cat (8 months old) and her 8 week old kittens. I was rudely told by staff that they don't fix kittens until over 6 months of age. Excuse me, but kittens at age 4-6 months come into heat and can have babies. They gave misguided information. I took my business to ACT who is fixing mom and kittens next week. Kittens can be fixed at 8 weeks and over 2lbs, the shelters even utilize the practice of fixing kittens who meet the stated guidelines. Very incompetent staff who lack knowledge thereby are increasing the pet population.

I love this office for several reasons but I will keep it short and tell u about the most important one. They all care for your pets as if they belong to them. My cat was very sick and needed surgery they all worked after hours till 9 at night to do the surgery. Not only did they do that but they charged me less then 1000.00 and the emergency hospital on Busch wanted 4000.00 for the same job. Dr O is the best person I know she is so caring I wish the world had more people like her . So if u r looking for a new pet dr look no more !!!!!! Thanks dr O !!!!

Took my golden retriever for a check-up and they were absolutely fantastic. They were extremely attentive. They spotted a disalignment in my dog's spine that none of our previous vets have noticed (or at least mentioned to us) for years! They're experienced and friendly. The vet also personally called us a few days later to check up on our dog, which no previous vet has ever took the time to do so. That really showed us their value for customer service. I couldn't be happier with Wellswood Animal Hospital. I will most definiely return with my other pet as well.

I just wanted to share with everyone about the team at Wellswood Midtown, I have 3 Dachshound's i have since had to put down one Lady due to cushing disease i also have another Gina that has the disease and Dr. O and her team take the utmost care and give so much compassion to all my babies there is not a time i bring my dogs in that everyone in that office does not acknowledge my babies Dr. O had concerns about the feel of Gina's belly and test was done and she had a tumor attached to her spline and surgery had to be done immediately. Dr. O and her team were there till 8pm that night to take care of my baby knowing how upset my husband and i were i will be forever grateful to everyone in that office.
So a great big THANK YOU to you all.

I requested a spay/neuter for a mom cat (8 months old) and her 8 week old kittens. I was rudely told by staff that they don't fix kittens until over 6 months of age. Excuse me, but kittens at age 4-6 months come into heat and can have babies. They gave misguided information. I took my business to ACT who is fixing mom and kittens next week. Kittens can be fixed at 8 weeks and over 2lbs, the shelters even utilize the practice of fixing kittens who meet the stated guidelines. Very incompetent staff who lack knowledge thereby are increasing the pet population.

I love this office for several reasons but I will keep it short and tell u about the most important one. They all care for your pets as if they belong to them. My cat was very sick and needed surgery they all worked after hours till 9 at night to do the surgery. Not only did they do that but they charged me less then 1000.00 and the emergency hospital on Busch wanted 4000.00 for the same job. Dr O is the best person I know she is so caring I wish the world had more people like her . So if u r looking for a new pet dr look no more !!!!!! Thanks dr O !!!!

Took my golden retriever for a check-up and they were absolutely fantastic. They were extremely attentive. They spotted a disalignment in my dog's spine that none of our previous vets have noticed (or at least mentioned to us) for years! They're experienced and friendly. The vet also personally called us a few days later to check up on our dog, which no previous vet has ever took the time to do so. That really showed us their value for customer service. I couldn't be happier with Wellswood Animal Hospital. I will most definiely return with my other pet as well.
