We have counted on Westchase Veterinary as an emergency/backup vet in times of mini-crises with both our 13 year old cat and 5 year old Australian Cattle Dog over the last couple of years. Each time they were very accommodating and their professionalism kept our nerves at ease. We were also impressed with their level of experience with our ACD. Now we have a new ACD pup, and have decided to only take her there. I brought my lab mix Finley in to see Dr. Mclothin last night. She was WONDERFUL! Finley is very timid and HATES the vet. She took her time with him and let him become comfortable with him before examining him. She was friendly and explained things in an easy way that I could understand. I know the clinic was very busy while I was there, but Dr. Mclothin gave me adequate time and allowed me to feel confident on the treatment plan before leaving. Read Less

The staff here is beyond kind and compassionate. Always a smile on their face and get right down to give my dog loving. My dog actually likes going to the vet and seeing her "friends." I went to Westchase Vet Center on the suggestion of a friend after I got a 2 month-old kitten, Elsa! The techs were very sweet and welcoming. I was planning a trip in which I would have to fly with her and needed to get her care based on TSA requirements. Elsa's doctor answered all my questions and concerns. We brought our new puppy here and we were blown away by all the staff! From check in to check out we were so impressed. Billy was the Veterinarian we saw that day and we had so many questions (1st time dog owners)... he was definitely into what our concerns/questions were on raising our new addition and made us feel like we were a team! I love Westchase Veterinary Center. I switched to them several years ago after our previous vet was always trying to sell us things or push extra tests and procedures we didn't need. With three cats that can get expense. I wanted a Vet that recommended the right care and treatment if it was needed but not push extra services on us and Westchase Veterinary Center has been great. And with two older cats (Sydney is 17 and Chelsey is 18) we have had more issues we've had to deal with lately and they always take their time to explain everything. They give you the best advice on the treatment of care needed. We've even tried special cat food from them and our cats did not like it and they take it back and give you a full refund. I brought my nine-year-old Shih Tzu Lilly to Westchase veterinary center after two visits to the ER. Blood work had been done and nothing was wrong with Lily, she was a healthy nine-year-old dog. However, Lily had not eaten in five days, she could not walk, was extremely lethargic. We thought the worst. After only several minutes, the veterinarian asked if he can take an x-ray and soon found something have a lodged itself in Lillys esophagus. We went to a different area ER, Lily had surgery, and the obstruction was removed. I am very thankful for the veterinarian and the staff at Westchase veterinary center. They saved Lillys life. They were very caring towards my timid dog and slowly approached her instead of forcing her to do anything. There are not enough words to describe how phenomenal this vet has been to me and my two Puggles. From appointment reminders to follow calls, they make you feel 100% sure you're pet is in good hands. Loved my experience with this veterinary office! I brought my brand new kitten, Harlow, who was VERY sick. They took great care of her and now she is VERY healthy! We were bought into an examination room right away, you don't have to wait in the waiting room with other pets. I love how every room has a TV with an animal movie playing. My roommate and I brought our dog, Lucy, into this facility because our dog was extremely lethargic, and quite frankly, dying. The staff was very welcoming and concerned about our pet and took her in immediately. The veterinarian, Dr. Nichole Reyes, told us that our dog needed care that was more advanced than their facility can provide. She was very polite and caring. It was easy to see her and the technicians genuine concern for our Lucy. They transferred us to the animal emergency center, who took in our dog. I also highly recommend the Blue Pearl facility. Having thru the years been to MANY different vet's offices I can say this was by far one of the BEST experiences I have ever had across the board. I went in a little hesitant assuming it would be costly primary because of location and it also being an emergency vet. What I found could not be further from the that. I have no idea where to start. We had an issue with our cat Olive, late last Friday ( Feb 10th) night. My wife brought her into Westchase Veterinary Center and Emergency since they were the only ones open at the time and close to home and oh my.. Normally from our experience when we had to bring Olive to any Emergency service, it costs an arm and a leg and the staff is trying to get us out as quickly as can be and they only fix one part of the problem.. However, When my wife brought our poor olive to Westchase Veterinary Center and Emergency.. They were very heartwarming and caring about Olive's health. They diagnosed olive very quickly so that we can start treatment to get her back to health. They also keep in contact with us to see how Olive's status is. Have seen three vets at Westchase for severe pain and gastro issues with my greyhound; the doctors and staff are outstanding.  They work with the owner to come up with a plan to help the pet without jumping into costly and advanced testing.  They were able to see Tasha immediately and are so compassionate and gentle during the exam.  Tasha had some difficult issues with pain and Dr. McGlothin provided resources as well as getting the pain under control.  Follow up with Dr. Barr was perfect and dental with Dr. Reyes a while ago was the best.  Rates are reasonable.  Westchase is worth the travel. Where to start, I've been taking my dog Minnie here for some time now. Recently she had been sick and worsened, as time went by I decided to take her in. I dropped her off in the morning (I had to go to work) and the girls took her back. Long story short she had something called pyometria (uterine infection) Dr. Reyes gave me options and suggested to have surgery right away with this comes worries about your dog being in pain and also financial issues. I went ahead with the surgery and my puppy is now in recovery. The staff and Dr. Reyes have been AMAZING, I couldn't have asked for better care and compassion for my baby girl. Great place. They call after every visit to check in. I recently rescued a very small kitten from outside. Scheduled him a check up, but when he developed a sore in his mouth, they were able to take him 2 days early. Without a full appt, they said it might be a wait, but I was so concerned, waiting was ok. Got there around 4:10pm and was out by 4:35pm. The little guy was diagnosed with an ulcer on his tongue. We got some antibiotics and he was dewormed. All for under $100!! They also handled my senior kitty wonderfully. Having a 20 year old cat makes me very cautious about her vet services. We've only gone here a few times (although we do need to get back in soon). Nonetheless, the staff and perhaps even more importantly, the Veterinarian we see is very friendly and knowledgeable: not just in general but also with specific breeds.We have a pitbull and I hate the stigma attached to them. When she was all loving on our puppy, I knew it would be a great place for us to keep going to.Overall, they are reasonably priced. Westchase Veterinary is a beautiful practice, although a little small. Evo was comfortable there and not stressed like he normally is. We were early for our appointment, so the wait in the lobby and room were understandable and NBD. Technician Lucia was very nice, she was gentle with getting swabs from Evo's ears since they were painful. Dr. Mamone was great with Evo, gentle and calm and got down to his level instead of hovering over him. She explained to me the procedures and medication he would be receiving. Lauren also checked up on him the day after. He's doing great with the medications prescribed although he's a snot to get it in. I knocked off one star only because it took me four times to get them to get our previous pet off our account and to stop asking about her. Luckily the circumstances were good with her, but if she were to have passed away or something worse, I would be frustrated to be reminded about her more than once. I have been a long time customer of Westchase Vet for over 13 years. Then it was just Dr Ronald Hamilton. When he left I was nervous as to what kind of care the new Drs would give to my two sweet Sheltie's Romeo and Rascal. Soon I realized I had nothing to worry about. At some point all of the Drs have taken care of my boys. Dr Reyes became my primary vet and we just love her along with all of the staff. From the girls at the front desk that welcome you with a smile, to the vet techs that handle my Pups with care, to the wonderful Drs. I can come in to see the Dr or leave a message with the staff and someone always calls me back. In my 13 years of going to Westchase we have had many different situations that required veterinary care. As Rascal got older he developed a heart condition and the Drs were wonderful in monitoring his heart. Sadly Rascal passed away on 2/10/16 and the Drs/staff sent their condolences and were very sad. Shortly after Rascal passed Romeo developed a problem with his Gall Bladder. Dr Reyes and staff helped with my concerns, emergency care and aftercare. Sadly on 5/10/16 my beautiful Romeo could not recover from this gall bladder problems and had to be put to sleep. As miserable as we were over the thought of losing Romeo we felt honored that we did it at Westchase Vet. Romeo was with his loving family and that included the vets and staff at Westchase that had taken care of him for so many years. We were all in tears that night. Westchase now takes care of my new sheltie puppy with the same love and care I have come to know from them. I have recommend Westchase Vet to many of my friends and neighbors. Many have asked me why I choose Westchase vet and my response is always the same, because I feel the staff/Drs love and care for my pets as much as I do. Westchase is part of my family.Read Less

If there was an option to give less stars, I would. I am extremely displeased with Westchase Veterinary. I came into my first appointment at Westchase Vet, with many questions for our new vet, Dr. Emily Barr. Dr. Barr left our first appointment before I even got to ask my questions, because she was pulled into an emergency. I tried to be understanding given I would want the same care shown if I ever needed these services, albeit quite frustrated. Nothing like paying for an appointment, that you don't get everything you hoped for out of. I was also told during this appointment, that if I made an appointment with a different vet in the same practice, I would have to pay an additional new patient fee by the front desk staff. More trouble brewed, when I asked for all of my dog's records to be shared with his vet in PA, who I am continuing to see (even if it means flights home) because I've been so underwhelmed by everyone at Westchase Vet. Also, we've rarely been called after appointments and vaccines to see how Trevor is holding up. Everything has come to a very bad point, when I tried to make Trevor an appointment for what I am deeming an emergency. When I originally wanted to make this emergency appointment on Friday, I was told I would have to wait until Sunday. Today rolled around and I unfortunately needed to postpone because I was having issues with my car not starting. As soon as I got that resolved which was still in your hours, I was told my pet could not be seen as an emergency even though his condition is concerning. I know it is concerning, because I've been very blessed to be able to touch base with is vet in PA who does seem to care about Trevor and his well-being. To me this is blatant picking and choosing, on which customers you like will treat. I was not able to get any answer on why Trevor wasn't as valuable as the one who was prioritized over Trevor during our initial appointment.Read Less

This is the first vet we brought our 8 week old shorkie, Nola to and I will never go anywhere else. To start off, the service is phenomenal. The doctors are kind and willing to answer all sorts of annoying first time parent questions. The welcome staff is friendly and happy regardless of how busy their day is. The pricing is fair and completely transparent. When you go to an appointment, you are given an estimate of total costs BEFORE any actual vet work takes place. I love this. No surprise fees or random $100 tests you did not know your little guy was getting (and you would be paying for). They do not do anything until you give the go ahead. They definitely are there for the animals and not for the money. As an added bonus they have boarding options available if you have to go out of town in a hurry and want a reliable place for your loved one to stay. First and foremost their hours of operation are fantastic! They are open 7a-9p Monday-Friday and 9-5 weekends!. There's nothing more difficult than trying to squeeze a vet visit into normal business hours. Westchase makes it easy to schedule an appointment. The office is clean. It doesn't smell like some dirty pet facilities. The even offer complimentary coffee while you wait. BUT -- even more important is the care they give to pets. My doggie Pepper had an injury to her paw on a Saturday afternoon. My normal vet was closing soon and could not fit her in. After researching on my own I found this vets office that took emergency situations that had great reviews . They were able to fit us in at right away (at 4pm). Dr. Nicole Reyes took absolute wonderful care of my Pepper. She was a delight to communicate with. My dog managed to get her bandage off by Sunday morning even with a cone. Again the office was is able to get her all re-bandaged up again on a Sunday morning! I love the convenience of the available times WVC is open. With my Brutus being a senior 12 yr old dog I feel secure that the wonderful staff and doctors are available extended hours if we need them. We recently visited for a check up and saw Dr. Snow for the first time. we normally see Dr Barr but she was unavailable, I was very impressed with her caring approach along with her knowledge of senior pets. I have a rescue greyhound (Pond) that is a little shy and still getting used to being around people and other animals and a cat(Meeko). And the staff at Westchase are friendly and really good with both. They are always available to answer the many questions I have about making sure our Pond is in good health and that we are doing the right thing. We recently moved to the Tampa area and were looking for a good, convenient vet for our cat Belle. I found Westchase Veterinary Center online and I'm so glad I did! We first brought Belle in for an annual visit and because she was peeing outside the litter box. We saw Dr. Reyes who helped us identify the issue. A few weeks down the road, Belle had a wound on her back leg. We tried to manage it on our own for a week but when it started to look infected, I called at 3:55pm on Sunday afternoon. They agreed to see her the same day if I brought her in by 4:15pm (they have regular business hours 7 days a week, some days until 9pm, with no additional "emergency" cost!!). We went in and saw Dr. Berlin who gave us a few options. We opted for laceration repair surgery, which Dr. Berlin completed today (the next day). Dr. Berlin even offered to complete the surgery on Sunday night but then suggested it'd be best to wait until the today so she was fasted. Overall, I have been VERY happy with Westchase Veterinary Center. Their veterinarians, techs, and employees are friendly and their hours are extremely convenient. They even have an online pet portal to order prescription items you need for your pet! I am so glad we found them. Read Less

I hate any business that gouges the customer. Fees are way too high for simple routine stuff. I know we live in Westchase but the Beverly Hills pricing is outrageous!Please due your due diligence and research other Vet clinics as this place only wants to separate you from your money!
