AAH was a real "life saver" for my cat Cyrus. Cyrus was run over by a car back in November 2017. When a different animal hospital quoted me around "1300 over the next few weeks" I agreed to save him because it was financially doable for me. When the bill later that day was 800, and each check up with medications etc was reaching 200-300 a visit, as well as the non stop care and feedings (feeding tube) was running me ragged week after week, I was then told one of his eyes needed to be removed for another 500+. Thankfully we found AAH. Not only were they more financially flexible, kind, and welcoming; but they truly cared about Cyrus' fight for his life as well as my dedication to him. When your pet is hurt and you dont have the answers, it can be quite scary; but they never had a problem explaining each and every thing to me or even just reassuring me he would eventually be himself again. They saved the eye from removal and even though he was blinded by the accident, 7 months later I can say I definitely have my big guy back. A huge thank you to Dr. Cochran and the AAH staff! By far the best group of people in the area. They’re compassionate and genuinely care about the animals they treat. It’s more than just a business with AAH, because they put the needs of animals ahead of profit. I discovered AAH accidentally after a sick and injured stray cat wandered into my yard. When I tried bringing him food I could see he needed immediate medical attention. I searched nearby hospitals and started calling one by one. Nobody else could make room for an injured stray, but AAH told me they’d squeeze him in. The cat required surgery but because I had performed a kind act they waived many of the charges. When my own cats caught something from the stray recovering at my house, they took care of them as well and went over and above for each. I had called and talked to one of the nurses about taking my cat Stella in, I had told her that she was sick and possibly had some sort of cancer/infection in her mouth and wasn't doing so well. So i made an appointment the next day for 10am. My sister and I arrived about 20 minutes early, hoping we'd be seen sooner, considering my cat was very ill. We weren't. We had dogs who were being dropped off for boarding, cats who needed baths, seen before my sick cat. Already, I was a bit irritated. We waited about half an hour, payed almost 40$ just to state the obvious. That my cat was going to need extensive care and she was slowly dying. Before we left this place that day, I had asked about euthanization, and what time a doctor would be here the next day for that. She told me 9:00am. No problem. Took my cat home, let her live her last day to the fullest. Now this was a bit of my fault, I didn't really set an appointment for the next day. So the next day comes, it's 8:20am, I called, spoke to a different nurse on the phone, and asked if we could come in at 9:00am, and have Stella be put to sleep. She tells me the earliest a doctor could be in was 10. Alittle bamboozled there, but she was able to pull some strings, very grateful for that. We bring in Stella, fill out the paper work, and Dr. WESLEY COCHRAN. The most heartless doctor took care of our cat. He came in and did another exam on her, telling us about his 40+ year experience and how she had all these things wrong with her. Not only was she was freaked out, but so was I. I told him that we were putting her to sleep, and that i'd already filled out the paperwork. He left the little vet office, came back with the formula, and we slowly waited for her to pass. -Now keep in mind, it wasn't me there. My grandma, sister (who was bawling her eyes out) and my older brother was there too- HE can back in the third and final time, picking her up, laying her on her side. JUST COMPLETE HEARTLESS ACTIONS. He couldn't have waited to do that, after we left?!!! We're sobbing in that room, and not once does he ask if we were okay. Had to ask him to get us some tissues. NEVER COMING BACK. The staff was ight, The one doctor we had the previous day was fantastic, wish i could have grabbed her name, but the rest. Was a complete JOKE. If you cared about your pets, take the extra 15 minute drive to the vet hospital near belcher and nebraska. Atleast they have a heart. Read Less

My friend had just moved to Tarpon Springs, a neighbor of hers recommended She take her dog to this vet. When we first walked into the clinic, We were greeted nicely (nothing out of the ordinary), then we waited to see the doctor, her dog just needed vaccinations. When Dr. Wesley Cochran came into the exam room all we could smell was a horrific odor of alcohol coming off him. We have never in our many years of having dogs experienced this. Like most dog owners our pups are our babies!!! Dr Cochran came highly recommended to us from a client when we got our last puppy as we were not fully satisfied with our current vet. I can honestly say the entire office makes you feel like family and treats our pups as if they were their own. Dr Cochran spends the time answering any and all questions you may have, where as past vets we have had come in looked at our dog then leave and send in the tech. If your looking for a new vet for your babies look no further!!! They are simply the best!!! Read Less

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Beware, this business should be shut down. Enormous amounts of feces and urine everywhere in back in cages with animals. Cockroach infested! Barely any staff on site to care for animals sitting in their own poop and pee. Dangerous medicine being practiced by doctors who are barely present. How they are still open is beyond my belief! Go yourself and ask if you can see how the animals are kept if you don't believe. You will be disgusted. Read Less

For one he just smelled like alocohol, and during the whole appointment he was mumbling and not making any sense. Do not take your dog here! Read Less
