We have two dogs and have been bringing them here for close to five years after losing a dog from the absolute neglect of another vet / hospital. It's easy to schedule an appointment at Westlake; they have a large staff of veterinarians, vet. techs, and many available times throughout any week. They always accommodate me.This is an amazing place! You can tell they care about what they do. On the wall is a large collage of photos that clients send in of their pets. The pictures fill up the allocated space after a while, and they have to take them down and start over. There are animal posters and magazines to ponder. And the office staff is wonderful to work with. They are pleasant, and happy, and they know the dogs by name. Why didn't we come here sooner, I think as I write? The wait for a room is short. A tech does a quick assessment of the pet and a short history. It's our experience that the techs know our dogs by name and medical background. The exam rooms have a small bench for comfort of the owner, but I've never waited more than a few minutes for the doctor to come in.We find the vets to be very thorough in the examination. They take a lot of time and ask questions. They also know our dogs by name and medical history. Our little guys generally see Dr. Morgan and she's terrific! She's so very gentle with our diabetic senior canine :).We lost the brother of this particular dog just after Thanksgiving a few years ago (see review of another animal hospital under this reviewer). He was visibly affected and depressed afterward. We had to board him over Christmas and because he's diabetic, we used Westlake Animal Hospital. Well the dog would not eat during his stay, at all. Dr. Morgan wound up hand feeding him so he'd get some nourishment! Does your vet do that??Last year, this dog got quite ill and gave us a really bad scare. We took the after hours trip up to the "emergency vet" (see review posted) where they performed an overnight miracle and returned our living dog back to us. We felt he needed continued care of that caliber and followed up with our vet at Westlake Animal Hospital. In order to save us money, they allowed us to bring him over there for the next couple of days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. while they administered IV antibiotics, but we didn't have the expense of them keeping him overnight. DOES YOUR VET DO THAT??Occasionally, the little guys see another doctor here. No problem. They are all caring, smart, thorough, diligent, and everything you could want in a veterinarian. They don't ever try to sell products or services. They do provide choices, and they do provide medical care! Our former vet was a 1 minute drive from our house. It takes us 15 minutes to drive down US 19 to Westlake Animal Hospital, but it's a no brainer because of the quality of care they provide. We wouldn't do it any other way! Read Less
