Worst vet ever. If you love your dog bring them anywhere else. They consistently mess up appointments. They don't know what they're doing. They never prescribe enough antibiotics and ask you to keep wraps on way longer than they should. Their front desk people are useless. I have been bringing my dog, Max, here for the last couple of years and have always been given great service by Dr. Salton. About a year ago I moved out of town but decided to still make the two hour drive to Trinity Pet Hospital because I really liked them. Recently I was scheduled an appointment for 11 am on a Sunday. To my surprise (after driving over 2 hours) they aren't even open on Sunday. I called the following Monday morning to speak to someone and their reaction was "Oh well! We aren't open on Sunday and the lady who scheduled your appointment is gone for a week." Great vet but absolutely horrible communication and customer service. I will not be going here again. I was coming here to get my two year old golden retriever neutered. It was a couple hundred dollars cheaper than my regular vet and I thought because I was moving that month I would just do the neuter somewhere cheaper. Worst decision. My golden loves people and his usual vet so much but he has been attacked twice and therefore is very skittish and not good with other dogs. I explained this situation over the phone and specifically asked for an appt time that we could be the ...first ones in so he wouldn’t have to be around other dogs. I was assured they had it in their notes and that I was to come at 1:45 for a 2pm appt to make sure no other dogs were there. I arrive exactly at 1:45 and the waiting room lobby has three other dogs in it so I wait outside. Nobody even notices. After about ten minutes another big dog pulls up in the parking lot so I open the door a crack and say that I was the 2pm appt and I would wait around the side of the building until they were ready since he couldn’t be around other dogs. She said oh okay. I wait about 15 more minutes- Dog is completely stressed now, both of us are hot, he is panting. Finally they come get us and say it’s okay now. I go in and start filling out paperwork. A tech comes out and gets my dog without meeting him and takes him back- I remind her that he has PICA (he has had three surgeries for this and it’s quite serious) and she says oh yeah I remember- as he is sticking his nose in the trash trying to find something to swallow . I thought she was just going to weigh him since at this point we haven’t even gone in an exam room. Takes him back to the main kennel area and comes out five minutes later with my dog saying he got ugly and they can’t do his blood work. The receptionists said oh we will just do it the day of surgery. No way was i coming back so i cancelled the surgery. Well I don’t care how much more my vet costs she is obviously worth it. These people didn’t take his medical condition seriously or the fact that he is scared of other dogs. I don’t blame him for “ getting ugly”- they were well aware of the situation and I was told there would be no one there if we arrive at 1:45- instead he is surrounded by other dogs, forced to wait outside in the heat for 25 minutes and then is taken in a room with kennels full of barking dogs to do blood work with out even meeting the vet or vet tech yet? He was obviously scared and stressed out. Oh and he left with a bloody leg. Thank God we went back to our normal vet who he smothered in kisses. I was afraid that experience would ruin him for vet visits. Thankfully he still loves our usual vet and I would never recommend this place to anyone- especially if your dog has any kind of special needs.
