They really take such good care of my dog, Mopsie. Mopsie's 16, almost 17, and while she's still chugging along and enjoying life, she of course has some problems. Ark Animal Hospital doesn't just treat Mopsie's symptoms individually, but really approach her care holistically. They prescribed some Chinese herbal supplements for her hindquarter weakness, and I feel like I've seen a difference in her gait. She hasn't gotten any worse, at least, and at her age that is a triumph! They also turned us on to these oral chews for Mopsie's dental health that Mopsie lovessss! Excellent bed side manner by the awesome staff! From our first contact on the phone, to the interactions with everyone in person, I was highly impressed. We very recently brought our beloved dog to Ark Animal Hospital for treatment. Sadly we subsequently had to euthanize him. I am just writing a review because I was very thankful for both Dr. Maus and all of her staff. I found them to be very kind and compassionate at what was a devastating time for myself and my husband. I'm new to the area and this place was highly recommended by a coworker. I called for an estimate for a dental cleaning for my dog and was told that they don't give surgery estimates over the phone. That should have been my first clue, but it sounded reasonable so I made an appointment. Upon entering it's very obvious to me that this place has seen better days. They have plastic lawn furniture in the lobby and a horrible brown and yellow diy painted doors! The vet examined my dog for 5 minutes and then I was given a $517 estimate for a basic cleaning and charged $43 for the "consultation"!! I was pissed. Having worked for a veterinarian in the past, I consider myself a pretty good judge of them and I know when I'm being ripped off. I have since called around and gotten several other estimates and found a few places that are much more reasonable. This place is a waste of time and money. I will not be back. Read Less

So when we woke up on the  morning of 4-27-13 our kitty (Inky) was very sick... we called our vet at Ark Animal Hospital at 8:00 Am just as they opened. We where told I'm sorry but just to do a work up and X-ray would take 45 minutes and we just don't have time today,call someone else.... I switched animal hospitals because I didn't feel like the last one was caring or gentle enough with my cats. My cats (all 8) are members of my family and I want them to be treated as such. I've seen Ark Animal Hospital down the road from where we live and found them on yp.com with a nice review. I was able to make an appointment the same day I called. Everyone was SO nice there. While we were waiting one of the assistants carried on a great conversation about the parrots they keep there. My cats were handled with care and concern. They really took the time to check then thoroughly and ask lots of questions. They also gave us options on treatment. I was most impressed that they called to follow up on the progress of the medication given. I would recommend this animal hospital to everyone! Read Less

I would take my pet to the Ark Animal Hospital. They are knowledgeable, caring,concerned and want the best for my pet. They treat everything from reptiles,dogs,cats,birds pretty much anything you love they care for. I have also used them for Eastern medicine as well as western. They are a full service hospital. Vaccines to surgery. Baths to boarding. If you have a need, they can address it. You can go to the rest but why not go to the best. Read Less
