I am so happy that we were referred to Jacaranda Animal Hospital. Not only is Dr. Reinhardt incredibly knowledgeable, he is truly genuine in the care that he provides for the pets that come in. The vet isn't always the best place to be heading with your pet, but the staff are always so warm and welcoming. It certainly provides ease to the visit...even when I have called in a panic. We are new to the area. Someone recommended Jacaranda Animal Hospital and I am so glad! From the moment we arrived at our first appointment yesterday, we were met with smiling faces. Dr. Reinhart and his staff were welcoming, knowledgeable AND helpful. They spent extra time answering our many questions and concerns. They followed up the next day with immediate test results and even called our home to provide additional information. I found this vet to have no "bedside manner" at all!  I took my large, mixed-breed dog here, and he was immediately afraid of Dr. Reinhardt, who didn't do anything to try to allay my dog's fears.  He pointed to a spot in the floor at his feet and announced repeatedly, "I need him HERE!" while my dog literally peed in the floor.  I had to physically drag my poor dog over and sit in the floor with him, where he buried his face in my lap.  Dr. R. seemed genuinely annoyed with the barking of another dog who was there, both complaining about it and at one point just sitting in silence and rolling his eyes rather than raising his voice over the barking.  I was thinking this was the wrong line of work for someone so obviously annoyed by dog barking.  He also shared a couple of anecdotes involving other dogs where he attributed to their owners really annoying, whiny voices, which gave me the impression he doesn't care for pet owners any more than their pets.    Also, both the veterinarian and his staff tried to "upsell" me on tests and laser treatments unrelated to my visit.  I wouldn't go back here! His office staff however leaves much to be desired. Monica the office manager has 0 people skills, apparently just making up stories in her head about what she "thinks" happened and what she "thinks" she did reguarding your account with no facts to back it up. I have never left this practice without being fully aware of my pet's condition and how to keep her healthy. Everyone on the staff is super friendly, helpful, and is knowledgeable about veterinary medicine. Prices are reasonable, too. Horrible experience. I brought my 9 year old lab mix Bob to the vet to be treated for fire ant bites. The vet trapped my dog on the wall to look at his sore. He forced me to have a ring worm test and gave my dog a steroid shot.which i did not want. The bill was $116 in the end. The vet ignored anything I said and looked at me only once during the entire appointment . Couldn't wait to get out of there! ! Read Less

Very bad experience.  Dr Reinhardt misdiagnosed our puppy that almost killed him.  Had to take our dog to Sarasota for emergency surgery.  Surgeon was shocked at the condition of the dog.  Strongly recommend you find another vet... Read Less

Went to this vet after a recommendation from the Sarasota Humane Society when I adopted one of their kittens. They got me in to see the Doctor the very day I called them, there wasn't even a wait in the waiting room. I enjoy taking my cat in there, it's a nice little business with a very friendly staff. When I forgot about an appointment I had, they simply called and rescheduled it for a few hours later, and didn't charge me for missing the first one.
