In a huge pinch I called this place today, 9-7-17. Here's my story. My cat is diabetic and requires shots twice a day, 12 hours apart. I am on a month road trip up the east coast and my parents are watching the little guy. Well, my poor planning came shining through when he was running very low on insulin. Couple with being new to Florida and hurricane Irma knocking on all of our doors. My previous vet refused to work with the online pharmacy store to provide him more insulin basically saying they don't work with online only companies. They could not find any way to get him more insulin. So, that brought me to this clinic/hospital. I called and explained my dilemma. I'm in North Carolina. My parents are in Vero Beach. I have a prescription but it's at home in Dunedin, FL which is oh so NOT helpful. Again, this is all my fault for poooor planning. Staff on the phone listened attentively, asked for thirty minutes and she would call me back but also said 'no promises' to which I fully understood and accepted. She called back in maybe 15 minutes and asked if he could be in there clinic asap. They would be able to accommodate my furry friend. Completely amazed and almost in tears I thanked her and called my parents explaining what they needed to do. Less than an hour later they were out the vet clinic doors with insulin and he checked out with a clean bill of health (but for his teeth and that's a different story since he is so old!) I can't say enough good things about this place. They went above and beyond for my baby. I am still in shock and almost in tears. Thank you to these people!!!!!!!! Dr. G and all of her staff are super friendly and make me feel at home. They are also very compassionate and understand that my cats are my family, not just animals. The dr and the staff always greet you and make you feel like they know you. They take very good care of the cats when they are boarded. They give you information and time when you have something new with the cats. I am so glad I decided to go with a cat vet rather than take them to the same vet as my dog. This vet is awesome!! Brought my new baby kitten for first check up and he was having a bit of a biting problem. Suggested alternatives to get him to stop biting, gave him a calming collar and talked to him calmly getting him to settle down. He's still biting my hands but with much less frequency. We LOVE the Cat Hospital of Vero Beach!  We moved a short while ago from up north and we needed to establish a hospital for our aging cat. We tried one animal hospital, and weren't too impressed about anything with them. Then we saw the Cat Hospital during one of our days running errands. We walked in to inquire about their services, and knew right away that it was a place for us to bring our feline. Our cat had been feeling odd recently, and keeping to herself, more than usual. We took her to the Cat Hospital and during the exam, they noticed a loose tooth and a desperate need for oral cleaning, on top of a boat load of undercoat that needed removing and was quite matted which we attempt to remove ourselves everyday! She went in for surgery, and came out a new kitty! She is so full of spunk and we couldn't be happier. Coming from up north, we felt the charges were very reasonable and was given a complete break down of the charges. They followed up with a phone call the next day, and their compassion for clients is beyond what I could ever explain. We just love them over there. We love that they only handle felines, and offer vet services, grooming, and boarding. One stop shopping! Read Less

Dr. Gambella and her staff provided our cats with exceptional care. The difference between a vet who specializes in cats vs a vet who treats both cats and dogs was striking. Dr. Gambella spent time getting to know us as owners, our cats, and our home environment. There was a lot more focus on the details than we experienced in the typical busy veterinary hospital. And her understanding of cat behavior made her a great resource for some multi-cat household questions that we had. Dr. Gambella's love of animals is evident in her handling of our cats. I called to get a price estimate for cleaning my cats teeth,couple extractions possibly, and shots. No prices given on the phone. Why no estimates on the phone? Let's be honest here.You get what you pay for, and you will pay a bit more here, however the service they treat you, and most importantly your furkid, with is miles past what I've experienced at other veterinarian offices. The exam rooms have an aviary between them and fish tanks, for the more fish oriented felines to keep them distracted during a rather stressful time. This keeps the cats occupied and relaxed. The staff is helpful, pleasant and efficient. The vet is knowledgeable and personable. The medications are onsite so no waiting for a pharmacy when the furkid has an issue. What she does not do is dogs, snakes, rodents. Felines only, which helps keep the waiting room ruckus to a minimum. Read Less

This cat clinic/hospital/inn is really fantastic. I haven't had cats most of my life, so I suppose I don't have much to compare it to, but it was genuinely a pleasurable experience, for both myself and my kitty!They have hot coffee available along with cookies out front for their human visitors. There's a wide variety of toys and cat accessories for sale, though the front of the clinic is not like a shop - more like a comfortable living room.In between the exam rooms there's an aviary full of small birds. This kept my cat entertained for the entirety of her visit (just a check-up).As for the check-up itself, the nurse did the basics and was incredibly friendly. The doctor was great as well, and made the overall experience relatively painless.The prices were on the higher end of average, but I didn't feel bad paying as the clinic and staff were really wonderful.I highly recommend this Cat Hospital! My 11 yr old cat was in terrible shape and we did not know where to turn, I googled and found this wonderful place. They have gone way above the norm in providing care and diagnosis. I am so glad he got sick here in Florida, as I feel my vet in Kentucky would not have found the problem. ANYONE who has a cat or cats, should not hesitate to change to this vet.....Once you have been there you will realize just how much you have been missing in a mixed facility. From the wall mounted aquariums in the waiting room and exam rooms, to the little bird room in between the exam rooms, your cat will love it! My cat was critically ill, and Dr Gambella came in twice on Sunday to admit him, once I changed my mind and took him back home, only to have to call her again to bring him back. She has personally called me every day with updates, and allowed me to come visit for extended periods. He was put in their Intensive Care unit one evening, and given oxygen which probably saved his life. I can not say enough~~ And they also have the coolest boarding facilities! I could go on and on about the care provided and the personal touches that matter so much, not to mention the reasonable fees! If you go anywhere else you need to reconsider -- Your cat(s) will love you for it! Read Less
