I suspect everyone thinks their vet is THE BEST but I've visited several over the years and thought they were all five star vets. That was up to the point that I started receiving services at Live Oak Animal Hospital. Expectations on every aspect were totally exceeded! I would receive phone calls on weekends, in the evenings, etc with the vet (not a receptionist) asking about the health of my dog at one point when she was gravely ill. We noticed a hot spot on our drive to Vero Beach from Connecticut. We called Dr Stewart's office on Saturday morning to see if we could get our Golden Retriever, Rhiannon in for treatment. The staff was amazingly accommodating and gave us an appointment even though they were booked. She was seen and treated by a caring and personable staff. Dr. Torado is a cat diabetes specialist and helped me cure my cat of insulin dependent diabetes. He also treats my 19 year old cat. I've have used Live Oak animal hospital for 24 years, 1 dog, 3 cats! I love the way the staff treats us; they are always friendly and helpful. I got a rescue dog to Foster recently. He arrived loaded with ticks, lots of lies from the past owner, smelly, and very nervous. This dog weighed in at 79 pounds, so it is no tiny dog.The Vet's, the nurses, and the tech's were just wonderful. They were prompt, exhibited a very caring demeanor, excellent care, reasonable prices, and a clean, smell free facility. This place is truly as good as it gets. I had the sad duty of putting our 19 year cat to sleep, something I agonized over it for days. I called Live Oak and spoke with Janis. She could not have been more helpful and understanding. I had called other Vet offices and did not get that kind of treatment. Everyone there was so kind and informative. I saw Dr. Torrado. We are new to the area and have been trying to find a vet. There sure a lot them around here, but I was having troubles finding one. Unfortunately we had to have our 19 year old cat put to sleep. Something we had never done before. I called several vet offices and because of the reception on the phone didn't go with any of them until I called Live Oak. I spoke to Janis who was so empathetic and informative. I brought him in and was having second thoughts when my cat seemed to rebound (adrenaline). I love Live Oak Animal Hospital! I have been taking my dogs to Doc Stewart for almost 20 years now and they always are super!! All the staff are friendly and helpful, even in the most stressful situations. Doc has come to my house on numerous occasions to put my dogs down because I just couldn't get them to him, so he came to us. Right now my baby has a hurt knee and Doc is doing everything possible to keep her comfortable and help her heal. I love this man and his staff and the way they love all animals.
