This clinic does not handle veterinarian emergencies. We have been patients at this practice for 20 years, and we usually see Dr. Fillip who is incredible. Dr. Fillip was not present during our emergency today and this does not reflect her as a vet. Today, within 30 minutes, our senior dog went from running around to being unable to stand on her own. We called Animal Healthcare Center and made an appointment, but our dog deteriorated so quickly that we could not wait for the appointment and had to rush her in. At the clinic, the tech said our dog had pink gums and was perfusing well and therefore not an emergency. The staff would not even allow us to consult with a vet. Afraid of wasting valuable time, we left and rushed our dog to another practice where they were able to see her immediately and provide her with the care she needed. We were shocked and saddened by the behavior at this clinic today. We will be taking all three of our dogs to a different practice after this experience. If Animal Healthcare Center does not want to treat emergencies, they need to be upfront about this. Time is a valuable resource during medical emergencies and customers and their pets don't have time to be treated like this in those situations. Read Less

Today, our senior dog suffered a severe medical emergency. We immediately raced our dog in, and after the vet tech deemed her stable by viewing the color of her gums, refused to see us for HOURS, even though our pet was clearly struggling and also panicked. Thanks to another vet a short distance away, we were able to get her seen and treated immediately. We are thankful for this new vet, but not for Animal Healthcare Center. THIS VET DOES NOT HANDLE EMERGENCIES. It is a Christmas miracle our pup was handled well (at another vet) but the time we wasted here when they refused to see her only added to our fear and a delay in maximizing our dog's health and well-being. We usually see Dr. Fillip--an incredible,incredible vet who has handled our very health-impacted dog, Pebbles, who has had numerous small but mighty problems with her skin and with her teeth, among some other things. We have been patients here for over 20 years, and as we have three dogs, they see plenty of us! Unfortunately, in the last 6 hours, they have proven to not only let down their most loyal customers--they have let down every single one of the animals they see. This afternoon, our 11 year old dog Pebbles lost complete motor function within 30 minutes. She went from running around, to tripping over her own feet, and eventually she laid down on her side because she couldn't stand up on her own. We called and scheduled a 5 o'clock appointment, but then our dog wouldn't move. So we called again and told them we were coming right away. We rushed her there. Dr Fiillip was not there. We explained the situation to them, and they took Pebbles, who was unable to walk or stand on her own, back to the room. And promptly returned her five minutes later saying her gums were pink and she seemed "stable" and we had to wait to see the doctor until 5-which was hours away. We begged to see the doctor and they refused to send the doctor out for even a minute to help out or talk to us. We then rushed her to another vet and found out she had a CLOT that was impacting her motor functions. The doctors at the new vet diagnosed our pup within an hour. We are shocked and disgusted at the lack of professionalism and bedside manner of this clinic, especially given our dog was essentially flailing around on the floor of their lobby with three crying pet owners. If they do not accept emergencies--that is FINE, but that needs to be a hard-ruled policy that is enforced and mentioned on phone calls, in their office, and on their website. But no, when our dog had an awful medical emergency, they told us to come in and then refused to treat our dog as an emergency, even though it turned out to be serious. Luckily, our pup will be around and healthy for Christmas--but it is not because of Animal Healthcare Center. I can't explain how much I love this crew!!! I've been using Animal Healthcare Center for about 10 years now and they have been there for me and my furry family every step of the way. Most recently I had my puppy Stella spayed and I was a nervous wreck!! They called me every step of the way and I surfed that she was in good hands. Lindsey was the absolute best, even showed me pics of her and Stella snuggling before and after her surgery. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!! They always take great care of my baby Roxy when I bring her there for boarding when I have to travel for work. They are very flexible as well. Normally when I drop her off at the groomers she cries but she is very comfortable there and I know she is in good hands. The boarding prices are very reasonable too. Plus the vets have taken good care of her when she was sick in the past.  I have tried 6 other places in the area and didn't like any of them.  I have finally found the place I will be taking her to for now on. As usual the staff once again, in a scary time with one of my babies, were incredible!!! They accommodated me on Saturday for sedation and xrays when they don't normally do this on Saturdays.  They are always gentle, patient, and loving. They never push to do more and boost my bill...They do EVERYTHING they can to make sure my babies receive the absolute 1000% BEST care all the way around.  I would travel hours to stay with them! Dr. Edwards and Dr. Filip are both kind and caring and have no problems getting on the phone themselves to call you back to address concerns or questions thoroughly. We have an English Bulldog and a French Mastiff.  My husband is not a fan of vets and AHC has been wonderful!  We see Dr. Philip who is great!  She does a great job of explaining things and all of our options.  The office staff is great, very friendly.  We board them often and when we pull in the parking lot the Mastiff starts going crazy and can't wait to get in.  Highly recommend! Over the years we have seen the Drs. and staff change multiple times, most times for the better. The constant at AHCC is the quality of care given to our animals. It could not be better and will surpass your highest expectations. From the front desk to the kennel help, everyone is passionate about their job, the clients and their animals. No matter what the visit to AHCC is for, ranging from picking up a prescription to a final visit with a beloved furry kid, the concern, professionalism and compassion shown by everyone is of the highest quality. I love this place. The staff is extremely friendly and caring. The doctors are very professional and go out of their way to make sure everything is taken care of. Going to the vet isn't always easy with a pet but they've created a comforting environment and we never have an issue. I couldn't be more pleased with their services and hospitality. Pretty good for what it's worth, adoption is an easy process, they even gave us a gift bag with our puppy. The place could use some moral pick up with a few employees, but it isn't always a happy ending for animals here, in the staffs defense. I do love this Animal Hospital. Many years using their services. Dear Dr. Dew and company are amazing professionals, and they are real. human beings, full of compassion. The doctors at AHC are very caring and compassionate. I always feel I am getting the best care and advice for my cats. The Doctors always follow up with a phone call to go over test results or to see how they are feeling.All three doctors are wonderful. I went to AHC b/c it is the only option that popped up when I Googled "walk in vet" for my area. The staff was very friendly! Apparently, you do need an appointment, and luckily, they had an opening. I have been using Animal Healthcare Center for 13 years. At one point we had five cats and a dog, we are down to three cats and a dog now. They have been patient, kind, caring and compassionate. Most of all professional and informative. I have sent everyone that has asked me about a vet to Dr Dew's office. Having been a multiple pet owner for over 35 years I have used many vets but have never felt as comfortable and secure as I am with Dr Dew and his staff. Read Less

I have been with Animal Healthcare Center for over 3 years. When I first got my dog, I was to take her for a visit (paid by the place I got her). They were great and they didn't just tell me what I wanted to hear. They were very thorough with the exam. From then on I decided this was going to be her vet. A couple of months later I had gotten another dog (so Nutsie had a sibling) and decided I was going to my vet and not the one the breeder wanted. She loved them as much as they loved her. Unfortunately, when one of my dogs was 6 months, she ran off, got hit by a car and passed away. Animal Healthcare Center reached out. I knew they loved animals but their words of condolences sealed the deal. A year later, I got another dog and Nutsie was very happy again. The employees at the vet always have open arms to pets and their parents. Not only are they a vet, they board too. My girls love going to spend time with the employees. Animal Healthcare Center is cheaper than all the others and doesn't lack in taking care of the animals. I love them and will never leave them. I trust animal health care one million percent with my precious dog! Dr. Edwards is the most caring compassionate vet I have ever met and she takes care of my dog like she is a member of her own family. My dog is excited to go see the staff there and is never scared walking in the door which is a statement of how they care for the pets they see. We have been bringing our Corgi to Animal Healthcare Center for 3 years now and they have always been very helpful, friendly and informative. After 2 months of other vets and hospitals running test after test and still not coming up with answers a friend recommended Dr. Dew. We set the appointment, brought in Kodi's entire history. Dr. Dew took his time talking to us, asking us questions, examining Kodi, getting blood and urine tests ordered. The staff was courteous, friendly and wanted to ease our anxiety. They really care about your furbaby and they take their time to talk things over with you, they listen to you and don't get intimidated by us doing our own google research on Kodi's symptoms and asking questions about it. I think after 3 years of my Kodi's life we have finally found a vet that is a keeper. Thank you guys for taking on a mess and helping us understand the why's to an unidentified auto immune disorder. This was an overall terrible experience. I went in with my 10 year old cat thinking this would be a good idea since Banfield or Paws 2 Help usually have a long wait and are farther away. The assistant told me she was going to weigh him out and would be back shortly. Then I get called into a room and I'm told that my cat is giving them attitude and that I would have to drop him off overnight, as they would have to use anesthesia just so that they could give him a medical examination and give him his rabies shot. None of the vets that have seen my cat in the past ever had this issue and they always let me in the room with my pet. Even when my cat had a blockage in his urinary track, the vets at Paws 2 Help used a towel to wrap my cat  so that he could not move and successfully complete the procedure. I  think the staff here is inexperienced or even worst, they try to sell extra services ( in this case an anesthesia) which is a risky procedure that a  10 year old cat should not  go through for a rabies and leukemia shot. The staff here at Animal Health Care Center are absolutely wonderful, from the front desk to all the techs behind the scenes and all the doctors. Dr Dew is a very good vet, however chances are pretty good your pet will not be able to see him but instead be relegated to the other 2 in-house vets. Especially if you have an emergency or urgent need for your pet to be seen, chances of seeing Dr Dew are slim. The last review is madness as Dr Dew is most certainly NOT the only ABVP vet at an AAHA hospital in Palm Beach County, if that is what you are looking for there are many to choose from.  This practice claims to be full service however Hospitalization is not 24/7 care and is only available for planned/elective surgery and procedures. They leave your pet unattended overnight. Care is only provided during business hours, if they are closed for the day such as Sunday or a holiday your pet will NOT have a human present. Since they only hospitalize for elective surgeries they are able to plan to not have overnight guests on Sundays or holidays. As I understand it boarding has a dog walker on days they are closed but I would recommend clarifying that WITH DR DEW. Regarding surgical care Dr's Leah Dial-Fillip and Heather Edwards will always refer your pet elsewhere and by elsewhere they will only refer your pet to Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists - they will not work with any other facility ever. If you need basic wellness checks and vaccinations and have perfectly healthy pets with no medical, skin, dental issues then this practice is probably sufficient for your needs if you can get in to see Dr Dew. Once your pet has any issue at all or if Dr's Dial-Fillip or Edwards claim your pet has a medical problem RUN RUN RUN as fast as you can from this practice and find a Real Full Service vet at least for a second opinion. You will spend a fortune on unnecessary tests and they will do them over and over expecting different results without taking any action. They will bleed you dry so watch your pockets. Read Less

Regarding the last review, I think that's very responsible to only offer one year because that is the least risky of the two. And I don't want to put my cat at any risk just to avoid a yearly exam. I found Dr. Dew to be very balanced. He gave my cat a thorough physical, checking her ears and belly, and that is rare. No one has ever checked her ears, I always have to point it out (her's need cleaning twice a month). Often there is either too much worry or too much apathy from the veterinarian in my experience. I feel lke I found a very good and reasonable doctor who I can trust in surgery as well. And it's his credentials that helped me find him. He's the only ABVP vet at an AAHA hospital in Palm Beach County, and probably one of the only ones in FL. *Regarding the reply to my review in the review by Lisa, I looked again and he is 1 of 4 ABVP certified in Palm beach county, and the only one of those four who's also listed on aaha.org. The ABVP tells me that the doctor holding the certification continues their education even while practicing. They don't just go to vet school and graduate and hold the degree. It's a good way to find a vet when you're new to the area and no one has been able to recommend one wholeheartedly. That's why I wrote this review, for new people who are looking for somebody they can trust. It's not to say that it makes a good veterinarian, but it does nearly guarantee trust for me at least. Otherwise you're just going in blind until you find the right Doctor.I would be happy to know any other veterinarians with the same credentials, because I do have to drive 30 minutes to see him. But he's so good that it's worth it.I definitely wish that Dr. Dew had his own private office. I was not happy with my visit from the get go because they asked for a copy of my drivers license to keep on file. This is not a common practice anywhere I've ever been. They said it was for verification when picking up meds. I took my copy with me, since this is unnecessary. Even if I needed a controlled substance for a pet, Vet hospitals do not have the right to have a copy of your drivers license in your pets chart. I also disagreed with the vaccine policy. On one hand the Vet claimed he isn't all about vaccinating unnecessarily just to make money. But actions speak louder then words, when he informed me that he only gives ONE year rabies vaccines, rather then a THREE year vaccine. Which by the way there is no difference in dosage and he argued that there is. He said they are labelled as such by the pharmaceutical company. I have news for you, they do that to leave it up to each vet to decide what they will sell to their clients. It's the same dose. A virus is a virus, you can't give more or less. But he makes more money by giving it annually. I also did not receive a rabies certificate or tag. He claims it's not a legal document anywhere in the U.S. The purpose of the certificate is to track the vaccines. He argued about the frequency of the feline leukemia vaccine causing tumors at the vaccination site and I need to point out that vets don't report every tumor found because biopsies in pets are optional. Surgery costs are high for pets without insurance and a lot of people elect to skip the biopsy to save money so the tumors ARE considered rare because they don't get reported.  To learn more about risks of vaccines go here avma.org/KB/Resources/Re…   Finally, the Dr and the tech had the flu and I did not appreciate being coughed on. I asked of they were sick they said yes that they had the flu. The tech really needed to blow his nose. It was pretty gross. It's irresponsible,  no wonder we have epidemics. Dr. Edwards is my cat's vet; she is exceptional! She demonstrates true care and competence; she has helped us modify our cat's diet and exercise for better feline health. The office staff are wonderful! Susan who registers the pets is very kind and will assist in any way she can. Sam handles the feline boarding and our cat loves her. Amber assists in vet visits and our cat is very comfortable around her. Cats do not fake affection and ours feels at home here. This vet clinic is clean, affordable, and a joy to use! Read Less
