I'd like to give a big thank you and acknowledge the whole team of Palm Beach Veterinary Emergency Hospital for being so attentive, caring, and helpful. For not only being kind and gentle yet going above and beyond in follow up calls, and answering as many questions with time and patience. Dr. Taylor was knowledgable and worked with Daisy as though it was her own pet. The facility itself is a 5 star in cleanliness and customer service at the front desk areas as well. Read Less

Our little man swallowed thread that had a needle on it in a freak accident. The veterinarians elsewhere told us since the needle was large and vertical he would need “exploratory surgery” aka abdominal surgery to go into the stomach to remove the needle. We immediately asked about an endoscopy and they said it probably wouldn’t be possible nor did they have the staff to do such a procedure. We immediately left another hospital and took him to the absolute best -Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists- where in a matter of minutes they took our special guy under and successfully removed the needle and thread. I’m at a loss for words to thank such a fine establishment and internists who arrived in minutes after their call was made as well as a special staff member (Miss Morgan) for having him ready to rock as soon as we pulled up. Thanks to you he's back to being the goodest boy ever! Read Less

In searching for an emergency vet, we lucked out. My 10 1/2yo German Shepherd was not doing well at all & I had a feeling it was the end. PBVS got us in immediately. Dr. Elia Rosa explained what was going on in great detail, gave me all the treatment options & time for my husband & I to make decisions. This hospital is amazing. It's huge, immaculate, the staff are extremely friendly & knowledgeable from the front desk to the techs, There's amply stocked vending machines for ppl who might be there for long stays, & the family room was very comfortable. We were never rushed or pushed into any decision. We decided to end our dog's suffering that day. The staff were so supportive. The fees are comparable to any vet hospital, but if you want quality full-range of service, 24-hr emergency care, this is the place. Read Less

Dr. Roy is an angel. I had lost faith in doctors and veterinarians over the years, mainly because most of them were only about the money. I was worried about taking my dog to a specialist because of the high cost, however, Dr. Roy was very reasonable and did not order any unnecessary tests. I was so impressed with everything about him. He was very thorough, he answered all of my questions, never rushed me, had great bedside manner, exceptional experience and education, and my dog really liked him. My dog normally does not like men, so I was surprised! I would recommend Dr. Roy 100% and if we ever have an emergency, we will definitely be back. Read Less

Dr. Tim Cutler was the best ophthalmologist I have ever been to! He gave my Julie (a tiny Yorkie) quality of life again when he operated on her sudden cataracts caused by the genetic disease PRA. Other vets didn't think it would be worth operating on her because she was 10 years old and because eventually the PRA would blind her anyway. But, as the onset of the cataracts was so sudden and fast she became very depressed and the surgery made all the difference! She was happy again and wanted to do things again instead of spending the day in her crate, the surgery and wonderful care of Dr. Cutler's gave my little doll her life back and bought her sight  for a few more years. I took some of my other dogs for Dr. Cutler to examine as well and he was always so knowledgeable, caring, patient and professional. I will never trust and like another vet ophthalmologist like I liked and trusted Dr. Cutler, my husband shares my feelings. He parted this life too soon but his legacy is moer than great. Palatial animal clinic. This is the place to take your $50,000.00 show dog for emergency treatment. Everyone else that can't afford a $50,000.00 show pet had better mortgage their home before entering. After hours care appears to be two to four times what other vets charge for similar services. In a pet emergency they might provide good care -- if you can afford it. Be forewarned of their "emergency pricing" fee schedule. Read Less

I was sent her by my regular vet because my vet thought my dog needed to be admitted and watched.  I saw Dr. TuckerMy dog was diagnosed with IMHD -Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia and his PCV RVC was at 20 (I believe) but if it dropped to 18 or 19 he needed a blood transfusion.  So Dr. Tucker was able to use all the blood work and notes from my vet and because the dog was active and wagging his tail and walking around just fine Dr. Tucker told me that she feels the dog would be better off coming home with us rather than stressing him out in a strange place in a confined cage, but I had to bring him in every morning for blood work to see if getting better.  After 5 days of a daily blood draw and medication she told me I can see my regular vet again.Dr. Tucker saved my dogs life.  My dog was 1 red blood cell away from a blood transfusion and Dr. Tucker really cared more about my dog than making money - she could have easily admitted him to add up costs.  Also I paid an office visit for the 1st time I saw her and the other times for the blood draw only paid the money for the blood test which was $20 something dollars. I LOVE THIS HOSPITAL! and I am so grateful to know that this is the emergency vet closest to me. Can I please give them like 1 million stars?. Let me start by saying that 2 of my dogs have died here (one was from old age, and the other we put down because he had a brain tumor) both of those times my family and I were treated with much love, compassion and care. But todays review is not about those 2 times (May my 2 fur babies rest in peace). This review is about my most recent experience with this hospital. Out of the 3 dogs I've had, I have 1 left (had them all as puppies). My baby is Gizmo, We've had Gizmo since he was 3 months old. Just recently on July 27th Gizmo had what I though was a seizure (2xs in 1 night) followed by difficulty breathing. I RUSHED Gizmo to Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists, I called them in the car on the way there and when I got to the hospital there was already a nurse ready to take him.I found out that my baby has Congestive Heart Failure, one of his valves had burst and liquid filled his lungs which is why he couldn't breathe. I had him there for 12hr (maybe more) where he was given oxygen and was taken care of. Less than a week later Gizmo had another seizure and I rushed him back in.These people working here are the most AMAZING! people ever! I can not tell you guys how great they are. EVERY SINGLE PERSON (reception, nurses and DRS) you guys are angels! The DRS and Nurses did AMAZING work with Gizmo, and thanks to them my little angel is home with us and hopefully we can keep his condition under control with his new meds.I have never met such a team of professionals! they do it all for the love of the animals and you can tell!! They answered ALLLLL my questions, including my 1 thousand phone calls and they do it so well.Thank you so much Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists!, although I am hoping not to see you guys again any time soon (lol) I am forever grateful.Keep up the amazing job and many blessings to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU! He did not survive the most aggressive form of cancer, Hemangiosarcoma! Our second Elkhound was not feeling well so we took him here again as it was an emergency. We felt his glands in his neck were the size of soft balls. This place is such a caring place! They diagnosed him with B-cell lymphoma! After his first treatment he was nearly back to himself! Appetite returned and he was breathing normal again. He has had his second round of chemo and tolerating it well! So thankful for the compassion and care they take with my boy! These people saved my dog's life.  I came to them because my dog had a tumor in a rather difficult location.  Dr. Roy was able to successfully remove it.  The three days she stayed in the hospital I called throughout the night.  The night time nurse was able to give me an update on her condition as she was routinely and closely monitored.  Unfortunately, the tumor was malignant, but after looking at my dog's chances of recovery, we went through with radiation therapy. Over one year later, my dog is cancer free. But the result is not why I feel compelled to write this review.  These people were amazing.  I would like to give a special shout out to Dr. Roy, Dr. Tucker, Ms. Jackie, and Technician Christian.  They supported me and my dog through the whole ordeal with such compassion.  I could have done the radiation in Fort Lauderdale, but I couldn't, I needed THEM, these specialists, this team. So I drove from Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach in the morning to drop off my dog, and then again in the afternoon after work.  I was 8 months pregnant and huge.  It was expensive (what cancer treatment and surgery isn't?), but they worked with me on price and no, I am by no means a wealthy woman.  No regrets, I would do it all again.  It became my home away from home and Lupita's (my dog) too.  Have you ever seen a dog excited to go the vet? I have.  Lupita knew they were helping her.  She wagged her tail anytime she saw her people.  She would bark when Dr. Roy left the room because he made her feel safe. I never had to tell the staff what Lupita liked or disliked to make her more comfortable, they figured it out themselves because they know it is important and made it their business to figure out.  Sometimes I think Lupita wanted to stay and hang out with Christian rather than go home with me; that's how well she was treated.  Again, I cannot recommend a better vet. After waking to find our 13 year old Golden Retriever listless and lethargic, not willing to move or take a treat, we landed at Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists by sheer chance.  Only 1 year transplanted from Chicago, my Vet and childhood friend had recommended Hollywood Animal Hospital for an emergency.  Our neighbor saw us carrying Daisy to the car and suggested we try a ER in Boynton Beach, which was closer.  He said to follow him, he called on our behalf but no one answered.  He then diverted us to PBVS.  The staff was professional, kind and patient with us.  From the diagnosis to discussing options, all questions were answered with empathy and care, allowing us to process the information and also include our Chicago vet in a discussion via teleconference.  Dr. Ellen Gray gave us all of the needed info to make to appropriate choice.  Daisy was handled the entire time in a gentle manner, with emphasis on her comfort.  The young lady with the curls (in all the hubbub, I forgot her name), in the exam room was also very sweet - everyone responded in deference, understanding how hard this is for a pet owner.  Ultimately, we knew it was the right choice for Daisy to cross the rainbow bridge.  We were offered private time with her before - and also given a choice where the process could be done. We chose a private outside courtyard, Dr.  Gray was supportive, yet allowed us additional time to grieve with her alone once she was asleep.  it was a fitting and gentle goodbye to a cherished member of our family.  Daisy was a present for my 40th birthday and she will live on always, thank you PBVS for making the goodbye as humane as possible. DON'T BRING YOUR PET THERE. It's hard to believe that a professional doctor or an establishment in an elaborate setting can be so greedy and heartless but they are only money motivated. When we have a pet that means the world to us as mine does and we are crushed with the emotion of possibly losing that pet and a Doctor takes advantage of those emotions in order to charge an enormous fee and diagnosis to care for the pet and then you discover that it was only about money.....that is the lowest form of person or business. I came to this facility when my Chihuahua had a collapsed trachea and had trouble breathing. Without telling me what the charges will be they administered therapy and procedures that ran up to in excess of $1800. They did this without even getting my consent first. I went back the next morning as she had to stay there and she was fine and obviously did not need the care that was told to me. I immediately told them I wanted my dog and I also wanted a refund of the charges they insisted on without my consent. I was devastated to think about losing my pet but then to be used in the manner that they used me is just unthinkable. The amount of money that they charged without my consent and then when I went back the next day to get my dog and told them what I thought they told me it would be two weeks for any type of refund and I could not seem to talk to the person in charge of that!....THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF.....MY DOG WAS CERTAINLY FINE THE NEXT DAY AND DID NOT NEED THE CARE THAT THEY TOLD ME IT DID.....THEY PLAYED ME AND IF YOU GIVE THEM THE OPPORTUNITY THEY WILL PLAY YOU TOO! THE TYPE OF PROBLEM MY DOG HAS DUE TO HER AGE CAN REALLY NOT BE REPAIRED BUT THEY MADE ME THINK SHE DID NOT NEED THE CARE I WAS TOLD BY OTHER VETS SHE WOULD BUT INSTEAD WANTED TO TRY CERTAIN EXPENSIVE PROCEDURES INSTEAD. THEY SAW HOW DISTRAUGHT I WAS AND TOOK ADVANTAGE OF MY EMOTIONS TO GET MONEY! DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST FOLKS WE ALL LOVE OUR PETS BUT THIS TYPE OF PRACTICE SHOULD BE OUTLAWED AND SHUT DOWN! Read Less

I was involved in bringing a friend's cat here in an emergency. The reception staff were very unfriendly and not knowledgable. The Doctor was great. However my friend was called in in the night as his cat was failing. The euthanasia procedure he described sounded horrific and unprofessional with the cat escaping and having to be pinned to the floor. The whole debacle took place NOT in one of the fancy private rooms but in a room where all the other caged animals were. This place seems to be all superficial fancy aesthetics but not great service. However, I gave another star because we just picked up my friends cats ashes and the receptionist seemed genuinely sympathetic and nice. Read Less

I had to write a review, especially after reading some of the reviews that these people are writing... wow, just wow. I had to re-read some of the poor reviews twice to make sure I had actually read them correctly... some of the ignorance that is posted irritates me beyond words. I am more that sure that some of these posts are completely exaggerated and fake. I have been taking my Boston Terrier to see Dr. Roy for about 4 years, she develops Mast Cell Tumors. Dr. Roy and the whole staff at Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists are so professional, they go way above and beyond for their customers. I've emailed Dr. Roy a couple of times and he's personally and quickly written back to me, always answering all of my questions. The first time I called in, when my dog was first diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor on her face... I was terrified. The receptionist got Dr. Roy personally and he spent a good 20 mins on the phone with me explaining everything. I was not a customer yet, I had never been in, he had never seen my dog... he took the time to talk with me. I had never in all of my years of going to vets and working for vets, seen this level of care. Dr. Roy has done so many things for my dog, that was way above and beyond what he had to do. I've never felt over charged, he has always worked with me to keep costs down, while giving my dog the BEST care. He has removed a total 6 Mast Cell Tumors throughout the years, he literally saved my dogs life. I am so grateful to Dr. Roy and his staff. Some of the reviews that state that the receptionist made a comment about someones credit card limit, is ridiculous and someone else said that there were no dogs in the emergency clinic at midnight and he had to wait 40 mins...so he left. Did you ever stop to think that they may be attending to an emergency surgery in the back, saving another dogs life??  I just can't believe the low reviews... it has to be people that just don't understand things, they didn't ask questions and then figure that they will give a poor review hurting a great business...when it was their own fault. I will continue to go to Dr. Roy and Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists whenever my pup has an issue, I completely and totally trust them and I appreciate the care that they've giver her. Read Less

Dr Roy saved my dogs life.  If it hadn't been for him, my schnauzer would no longer be here with us.  They are expensive, but worth it in my opinion.  I took my schnauzer to another vet for surgery for bladder stones.  That vet did the surgery and totally botched it.  After two days of phone calls (over a weekend) and none returned, my dog was so bad we had to do something, so we went to Dr Roy, sunday night at 10:00.  They immediately took her in and examined her.  It took a day to figure out what was going on.  Turns out the previous vet had torn her urethra.  They had to do surgery to repair.  While inside, they found bladder stones that had been spilled and also found a small piece of gauze.  After two weeks in the hospital, she finally came home and is a normal dog!As mentioned above, they are expensive.  But the lesson I learned is, If I had gone there in the first place, it would have saved me money as the procedure would have been done correctly the first time.  Second story, I had another dog with hind leg problems.  (See my review for other animal hospital I wrote).  He had been to another vet who could not identify the problem.  Took him here and they correctly diagnosed him within 5 minutes.  Lesson learned a second time!  If I went here first, it would have saved in the long run.  I paid another vet $400 for a bad diagnosis twice! (see other review)Bottom line, I highly recommend as I feel they know what they are doing.  If you want the best, this is the place to go. Read Less

I brought my cat, Lil' Man, in due to a blocked urinary tract this past weekend.  He was in severe kidney failure.  They saved his life and treated him better than I see people being treated at a human hospital.  Dr. Zafiris was so kind and cared for his well being.  She even teared up when she was able to give us unexpectedly good news.  She worked through decisions with me and kept the financial piece in mind every step of the way.  I couldn't have asked for better care and caring people.  My friends have also told me about how their animals have also received excellent care there.  We didn't have to wait to get him in and when would visit, we only had to wait when there were emergencies.  Best care we've ever had for a pet! Pros:24 hour facility, fully equipped. cons: we had similar situation as previous review. Brought cat in morning for emergency situation and paid emergency price. We came back in evening and cat had not yet had the Ultra Sound they recommended. Sick cat had been withheld food and water all day awaiting scan. Did not leave there until late evening. The Internal Medicine Specialist did not tell us anything we had not already heard from our local vet guessing. Not knowledgable in anything homopathic or more in depth problems that cause the same type problems, such as mineral (copper etc.) build up or intolerances.m.petmd.com/cat/conditio… felinecrf.org/food_data_…thecatsite.com/t/255682/…Ready to pass us off to another specialist where we would have to go through testing and checkup again because they said that the Internal Medicines Doctors tests may not be good enough for the oncologist. (!?!?!) Why wouldn't they have performed all testing needed to insure an accurate diagnosis!?!?We are an hour and a half drive from them,  so it would have been nice to at least offer a us a phone consultation of the oncologists (we would pay for his services) to at least take a look at the blood tests and Ultra Sound we already had, before making us drive back there and have our sick cat try and tolerate another day of no water or food scared in a cage, only to get another "no hope" diagnosis. We would gladly bring her back if an oncologist could give us hope for her. They could not give us any suggestions on how to make her life more comfortable and pain free...Gave us a number to an animal hospice. So much for being a "specialty" provider. I have lost all hope and trust for the medical community in Florida and the medical education system that is providing doctors not fully educated in all aspects of health and wellbeing. Doctors now a days want to take the most profitable, easy way out and make even more pushing Medication for the drug companies. Read Less

Stop and read this review PRIOR to bringing your pet here. This place looks beautiful and I'm sure it is, because they charge you a small fortune to treat your pet during a very stressful time.I came home from work to find my dog unresponsive. I got her up and moving and rushed her to this emergency animal hospital.  We checked in and they took her back.  At this point, she was walking and alert.  They looked her over, took her temp and listened to her heart.  They then told me they needed to take her blood pressure and took her away from me.When the doctor came in, she told me that my dog was going to have to stay overnight, I asked based on what since they hadn't even done bloodwork.  They based it on her pink gums.  I told them no, that I would wait for the bloodwork, I wasn't having her stay overnight for pink gums.  The bloodwork comes back a half hour later and it shows nothing.  The doctor convinces me that my dog needs to stay at least for a few hour; but tells me that I cannot see her before I leave so that she doesn't get upset seeing me leave her.  I leave there around 6:30 p.m.  At 9 p.m. I called to inquire on my dog, the doctor was busy so I had to wait for a call back, even though I was assured repeatedly that I could check on my dog at any time.  The doctor calls me back and I tell her that I want to come get my dog.  She finally agrees, but says I need to wait an hour.I arrive one hour later and ask for my dog.  I then wait, and wait.  After 15 minutes, I ask again, I was told that there are other emergencies and I will have to wait.  Finally, after waiting for 40 minutes, I go back up to the desk and I loudly tell them that I want my dog, I am not waiting any longer.  I came there for my dog and I want her now.  I get no response from them, but the doctor dos come out and tell me that she didn't even know I was there. They bring my dog out to me and I go to pay the bill.  The girl at the desk tells me my card is declined, I tell her there is no way, there is a $25,000 limit on that card; she responds and says "it must be nice to have a card with a $25,000 limit on it" she re-runs my card and it works....I had many responses for her, but decided to just leave so I could get my dog home.I liked the doctor, I really did, but I don't like or trust this place.  My dog did not need to stay, even for the amount of time that she did.  I feel that they don't listen to what the pet owner is stating.  I told them many times about my dog's separation anxiety, that always makes trips to the vet worse for her.I believe my regular vet could have figured out that my dog's cancer is spreading, it sucks and it is horrible for me to deal with, but Palm Beach Veterinary Specialist made this experience even worse for me, not including the small fortune they charged for bloodwork and IV's. To whom it may concern,   This e-mail is to seriously complain about Dr. Tim Cutler, one of your vets. Following the advise of Dr. L. Karpinki of Pinecrest we took our pet Lulu up there to have cataract surgery on her left eye on August 4-th, 2015. The surgery went well according to Dr. Cutler but glaucoma developed and after a follow up with Dr. Karpinski on August 7-th Lulu was under some glaucoma meds until August 10th when Dr. Karpinski found out that the problem persisted and after consulting with Dr. Cutler we took Lulu up there for a second procedure with Dr. Cutler. We believe Dr. Cutler was over confident and did not foresee this problem, the follow up with Dr. Karpinski should have been scheduled for earlier.  Lulu underwent a second procedure under full anesthesia again on August 10-th and I picked her up on August 11-th. Dr. Cutler did not even meet with me at the discharge, he sent a nurse with the discharge instructions. I already observed there that Lulu was having some breathing problems that have increased over the subsequent days, we believe this was caused by this second procedure. Dr. Cutler's nurse did not address this problem, also he discontinued the glaucoma meds on the report and when I asked about this to the nurse, she said those were Dr. Cuter's orders. Dr. Cutler scheduled a follow up with Dr. Karpinski on August 13-th, during those 3 days and due to Dr. Cutler's orders Lulu was not under the glaucoma meds.  On August 13-th when I took Lulu to see Dr. Karpinski for the follow up she found out that the eye pressure was very high, when told that Lulu was not taking the glaucoma meds she was surprised and called Dr. Cutler who told her that she should be on them!!!! This sounds incredible, the carelessness of Dr. Cutler. On top of this we now have the breathing problem that was clearly correlated to the second procedure.  Resuming, Lulu is now in  much worse condition as when we took her to Dr. Cutler the first time and we have paid $4,000.00 to have Lulu in much worse condition than when we took her to Dr. Cutler. We find this inadmissible and unless you address this promptly we will pursue further actions.  Thank you very much for your attention and best as always,Dr. Enrique Villamor, Ph.D.Professor of Mathematics Florida International UniversityMiami, FL 33199 Read Less

I brought my cat, Zulu, here a few days ago and was very pleased with the service. The staff here is very professional and clearly invested in providing the best care possible for your pet. Yes, there tends to be a longer waiting time than if you were at your usual vet but, it is an emergency service and they do have to tend to cases based on severity. In terms of the prices, it is pretty standard for emergency vet care. I didn't feel like they were trying to take advantage of me at all and felt absolutely no pressure to proceed with procedures that I didn't feel were necessary. Nothing presented was exorbitantly priced and the vet was very clear in breaking down the estimate he provided and was happy to advise on how to take the most economical, yet safe, approach. I definitely recommend this 24 hour vet over some others in the area....namely, Calusa in Boca. Now that is a vet ER that will rob you blind. Read Less

I saw the reviews on Yelp so I decided to take my cat here.  I applied for the Care Credit Card and received back a substantial line of credit.  The Vet racked up charges all the way to the limit and then told me they couldn't do anything more without another $3500 for an UTI surgery procedure.  A few months later, I researched the surgery costs at other corresponding Clinics and also spoke with my niece who is a Veterinary student.  I found out this surgery generally goes for about 1/3 of the costs Palm Beach Specialists quoted me.  Moreover, the costs for the work done up until then was about 200-300% more than other Veterinary clinics.   To sum it up, if your animal needs something major done and have the $$$$, take them here.  If not, go elsewhere because this place is outrageously priced. This place is AMAZING! My poor dog has had health issues since he was a puppy... And I've seen all kinds of vets and all kinds of specialists all over South Florida... and I have, unfortunately, been to an emergency vet multiple times. We recently moved to this section of palm beach and called here when our dog wasn't feeling well still after seeing another vet earlier in the weekend... They said to bring him in and when we got there they were incredibly friendly and courteous.  They were really quick and made us feel like a priority. The nurse saw Colby within five minutes of us walking in the door... And the vet was there within 10 minutes... The vet was thorough and caught things that the vet we had seen 24 hours prior had missed. She explained everything... Including all the reasons why she reached her diagnosis and all the potential issues in the future... And she answered all of my 42 million questions (A bit of an exaggeration, perhaps, but I promise you there were a lot of them). :-)  Also, they didn't try to upsell me on tests we didn't need.  I asked if we should get x-rays (which another vet recommended for almost $300) and she explained why they were unnecessary for our situation. And the price was unbelievably reasonable. Other places I have been have charged me $400 just to walk in and be examined on a weekend night. Here, they examined Colby, they gave him multiple medications to treat him for the next few weeks and intravenous medications that would help get him through the night and our bill was less than $200... We couldn't believe it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! And THANK YOU!! Read Less

Not particularly impressed with this place. I brought my dog in on a Sunday because I woke up to diarrhea all over my house and was extremely worried it was something serious. 6am in the morning I was seen right away. Dr Adams seemed pretty indifferent and kept getting mad that my dog was trying to give her kisses. She was pleasant enough to me, but her face and body language towards my baby made me really dislike her. The vet tech was awesome though. She's the only reason for the 3 stars and the fact that Dr Adams didn't try and pressure me to get expensive tests, etc. She laid out my options and told me how much everything would cost. I would only bring my dogs here if absolutely necessary because I love my regular vet and he doesn't push my dog down when he tries to kiss him. Read Less

This place is all about over charging and not the well being of the animal. We were refereed by our regular vet when our dog had a tumor on his back . a foreign doctor with what appeared to be a Russian accent took an ultra sound and a punch biopsy she believed it was cancer but could not give me a straight answer . She says she will know more when the biopsy comes back. She gave me some pain killers even though my dog was not in pain. Well after receiving the Bill of $1000.00 I was shocked./ 1000 for a regular Ultra sound and a non invasive biopsy. To top it off I get a call the next day to tell me oh we really did not get a good biopsy so if you can bring him in again we will only charge you $500 for another biopsy. This was 3 weeks ago. When I brought my dog home I was very depressed and felt I would have to put him down do to the diagnosis. Well after discontinuing the pain pills and feeding him some soft food he has gotten his energy back and moving a lot better. The tumor is still there but at his age its recommended it not be removed. I caution all dog owners if you need to visit this place get a price in writing before the do anything to your dog.. HORRIBLE!!!!!I took my dog here to get an xray because I thought she had eaten an object. They did an 2 xrays and said they couldn't find anything. [She had been throwing up and not eating for 1 day and a half] They said she probably just licked something that didn't agree with her so they gave her a fluid shot and sent her home. Still no improvement we took her back the next day and they told me that after spending 500 dollars the previous day that they would need to take some more xrays. This new doctor said he thought that there is something in there and surgery needed to be done. So he drew up a bill and it was 4500$ which I couldn't afford. After crying my eyes out because I thought I was going to loose my 3 year old dog I asked the dr for advice or a recommendation he then said " I never have to worry about finances Im a dr money is never a issue for me" with a condescending tone. I called around to my friends and they recommended dr miller who was amazing and did the surgery for a fraction of the cost!!!! Read Less

We've had some terrible experiences with other vets in the area, and were recommended PBVS by a friend.  Although it is quite far from our home, we were desperate and took the 40 minute drive up.  According to our former vet, our pup (all 15 pounds of her) was too difficult to handle, so they refused to treat her, even though she was terrified, in extreme pain AND sedated.  Every vet and vet technician we encountered at PBVS was wonderful and a pleasure to work with.  They had no problems whatsoever with our little baby, without any sedation required, and did a perfect job of diagnosing and treating her.  She is terrified of the other vet but has no problems whatsoever visiting PBVS, and we will continue to come here for all of our emergency needs.  This is a top-notch hospital with amazing staff.  Highly recommended. RIP Dr.Cutler! Read Less

We felt his glands in his neck were the size of soft balls. This place is such a caring place! They diagnosed him with B-cell lymphoma! After his first treatment he was nearly back to himself!

Read Less

We came back in evening and cat had not yet had the Ultra Sound they recommended. Sick cat had been withheld food and water all day awaiting scan. Did not leave there until late evening. The Internal Medicine Specialist did not tell us anything we had not already heard from our local vet guessing.

Read Less

We love our dog more than anything and yesterday she tested positive for pancreatitis. I brought her to PBS and she was seen by Dr. Ellen Gray. This facility is nicer than many human hospitals and Dr. Gray was amazing! Robin was the girl who helped us check in/ out, etc. and she was friendly, nice and professional and did great with our dog, Bailey as well. I probably have the highest standards of any dog mom and I'm very impressed by this place, the veterinarian and staff I dealt with. I highly recommend bringing your pet here for quality care.

Terrible experience! I took my dog to the emergency center because it looked like he was having a flare up of intervertebral disc disease. After waiting an hour (in the emergency center) the doctor checked her and said everything looked fine and sent me home. I paid 85 for the exam and ended up taking her to a different vet 2 days later and sure enough it was exactly what I had thought and what I had told the vet in the first place. My Little Dog's condition was heartbreaking. My regular vet (VCA of lake worth) wasn't compassionate about my financial situation at all. They wouldn't even call in a script for antibiotics. Needless to say my dog stopped eating and was getting very weak. We called PB Vet Spec and they told us to bring him right in. Not only did they take us right away but they gave us a courtesy discount and also let us make a partial payment allowing us to pay the remainder when we go to pick up my dogs ashes.
