I called this animal hospital because I was referred by Peggy Adams to call here for help about my dog. Long story short, my dog got neutered yesterday morning and last night all of his stitches came out. So he has about an inch long open wound from the surgery. Granted it's not bleeding and looks clean and doesn't seem to bother him I called for advice on what to do considering the place we took him won't be back open until Friday. I'm currently not able to pay for the stitches since we just dropped money on rent and his neutering.. (I wasn't asking for them to do it for free just needed guidance and advice since this has never happened to me before)  well when I called this morning around 10:30 (a lady answered) and said since I am not a client they can not give me any advice.. I'm sorry what? My dog literally needs help and you won't even help to point me in the right direction? You are very rude and I hope for other people's sake they don't call in an emergency situation. Just shameful! Read Less

Avoid this place at all costs! I went there 6 times in 3 months for my foster kitty's inner ear infection (which never healed) and repeatedly asked Dr Lorica about my kitty's ill-looking eye and pea-sized lump above her eye - which he said was "normal" twice after barely looking at or feeling them. When I suspected she had a stroke (due to stroke-like symptoms) he charged me $100 for more bloodwork (which doesn't show anything neurological!) which really shocked me. After spending $800 in total with a kitty who was sicker than when I first brought her there, I got a second opinion, and it turns out she had a tumor growing behind her eye (pushing on her eye, locking up her TJM joint in her jaw, and causing the fluid in her ears which he was just giving me antibiotics for). Hence also her stroke-like symptoms. I am so distraught because I had to put my kitty down quickly as it was too advanced by the time it was diagnosed. After getting my second opinion (and before putting her down) I took my kitty back to Dr Lorica so he could see the massive mistake he made, and reminded him that he told me TWICE that the lump and eye was "normal", and all he said smugly was "I said that?" and didn't even offer an apology. (He did offer to put her down though, to line his pocket some more I guess, but I refused to let him touch her again). SAVE YOUR PET AND GO TO SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL (AND NOT YOUR WALLET). Other obvious complaints are that he is never on time (he strolled in at 10:30 when he was supposed to start seeing patients at 10:00! - and I have spent up to 2 hours in the waiting room before), he never calls you with lab results or calls you back at all (the receptionist should not be calling with lab results!), and obviously he completely lacks professionalism. If I could leave negative in star rating I would!!! Let's start off with saying they never answer their damn phone! I took my 3 year old English Bulldog here about 4 months ago. He had trouble urinating, loss of appetite, and blood in his urine. the first time we took him here the vet took an x-Ray and prescribed him a 10 day supply of amoxicillin, he discounted it as a UTI. He said he saw no stones. After he finished his medication we saw NO IMPROVEMENT. At this point we started seeing traces of blood in his urine again, and still having problems urinating. After spending $200 the first visit I asked how much the follow-up visit would be. The lady at the front desk said that he needed a shot of Vitamin C and I was quoted $60.00. My boyfriend picked him up a couple hours later- the vet prescribed him another round of amoxicillin and sent him us on our way. No to mention the bill this time was not $60 as mentioned on the phone but $160!!! Again- the vet said he saw nothing on his X-ray!!!Fast forward 4 months- my dog has not gotten better, and 3 days ago I come home to poop and vomit all over the house, he was so lethargic. We were refused to take him to the same shit hole. We ended up taking him to another vet who performed a x-ray and a series of blood test. Come to find out that not only does he have stones blocking his urethra but also more than 10 stones (visible) in his bladder! He was going through kidney and liver failure. The end result, because this was not diagnosed sooner was having to put our poor baby down. I would never recommend this place, not even to my worst enemy!Rest In Peace Joe!!! Read Less

From my experience at St. Francis Animal Clinic, this clinic is not a good place to take your pet.I rescued a puppy that was in very bad health and took him to St. Francis Animal Clinic. It seems like they only do the bear minimum to try to keep you pet healthy, but they don't keep them healthy. Didn't prescribe any take home medicine when it was clear that my puppy didn't have the immune system to defend for himself and only told me to give him blue Gatorade and egg yolk. After the second visit I noticed my puppy was not getting any better so I took him to All Paws Animal Clinic. Best thing I did for my pup! I truly believe that if i would have stayed with St. Francis Animal Clinic, my puppy would not have made it. Read Less

I brought my baby here to have his teeth cleaned. This clinic was recommended by Peggy Adams, so I thought they would be amazing! Well when I called i was told one price. So I called around to check different prices and they were higher. I called back and was told another HIGHER price for the procedure and they didn't even do all of the other things that the other clinics did. No mouth wash or free nail grinding. The front desk receptionist was unfriendly and rude when I dropped my baby off and came back to pick him up. His teeth look nice and the antibiotics were free. They were only $5. I did not get a chance to meet the Dr, she had to "run home to get liver chews for another animal.." The office seems to have repeat clients. So basically if I'm grateful the procedure was not as expensive as other places because I did make them stick to the price they told me. They definitely need a new front desk receptionist. It doesn't even seem like she likes her job or animals at all. I give them three stars for the price and the job the DR did. Read Less

I have had pets most of my life and been to a lot of vets.  This is possibly the best clinic and doctor I have ever gone to.Two weeks ago we brought a family members 20 year old Yorkie to the clinic because she was bleeding from behind.  Turned out she had a tumor.  Dr. Noel was able to remove the tumor and the dog was back to normal within a few days.  It takes a very talented vet to put a dog that age completely under.  Most vets won't even try due to the risk of the pet not making it.Last week we brought our hound dog to Dr. Noel to have his teeth cleaned.  It was discovered that he had two broken teeth and one was getting infected.  This was done, with meds included, at a very reasonable price.  The thing that got me about this clinic, not only are the prices fair and the work good, but Dr. Noel and his staff really care about the animals. We have referred several people to him already.  And with having 2 dogs and 2 cats ourselves, this is the only vet we will use. I brought the little one here to get a few of his teeth extracted. My little guy is under 5 lbs and over 10years old so doing regular surgery on him where a vet gives him regular anesthesia may be quite risky. I liked the other option the vet recommend for him that put my mind at ease. This little bean is my heart and if anything were to happen to him, I would just lose it. The fact that the receptionist went out of her way to give him an extra prescription of antibiotics so that he would not incur an infection, was really off the charts for me. I really appreciated that, because like I said, him being sick in any way would absolutely destroy me. Little Bean was very well taken care of and I was pacing the waiting room (which is not big mind you) wearing a hole into the floor with worry during his surgery. What can I say, I'm a nervous mommie when it comes to him. Everything turned out more than wonderful. The receptionist even gave me all his little teeth that were pulled, so that I could put them into a little box that I keep in my jewelry box, along with his first ever hair trim from the top of his little head. (i know, i know... I treat him as if he were my very own child..but he really is that special to me, I can't help but save every little milestone of his, like some proud mommie with her toddler.)His check up a week later went fine as well. Now, the place is very small, and it could use a good de-cluttering in the waiting area, with some water, for those of us who have anxiety while waiting for visits to commence. I highly recommend for teeth extraction services here for your little furry ones, and it's not going to break the bank.  They were recommended to be through Peggy Adams rescue shelter. Read Less

I absolutely Love Dr.Noel & his staff. Now a days its very hard to find quality care at an affordable price. (not that im a cheep person lol but lets face it everyone lives on a budget now a days.) I feel the other places (not going to name any names) care more about the money then about the actual care of your pet. Dr.Noel doesn't try & rush with you in the exam room he will actually sit there and answer any and all questions you have. It is a small clinic but I enjoy it because it feels more personal. In all ive been taking both my pets for about 2 or 3 years now. I also had my dog spay & hernia surgery with Dr.Noel. She even stayed overnight because she kept ripping up her bandage. all in all I feel that they meet my standards as far as price & quality goes. Read Less

If you care for your pet - I would think twice about choosing this Vet. This is a long one - but important so no one else has the same experience we did. To start, our little doggie has had issues with bladder stones for the past six years - he's had surgery twice now three times before to remove stones and has been on a strict prescription diet since the first stone was discovered and analyzed - so, we have experience with what he should have looked like after and what the follow-up should have been. Once we knew he needed the surgery again, I spoke with them and asked the cost of the procedure, how long it would take and if he would need to stay overnight. All good, she gave me the details I wrote it all down then called my hubby to discuss. We decided to move forward, so I called her back and scheduled the surgery. On surgery day, my husband loaded up our little guy he's a super anxious pup and hates car rides into the car and drove 30 minutes to the vet. Only to be told the Dr. is not in and we would need to reschedule. Okay - we understand things happen, but why didn't someone call us to reschedule? When asked, we were told that the person who scheduled the appointment didn't write down what it was for so they didn't know we would need the Dr. otherwise they would have called. My husband tells me the name of the women he spoke with and it was the same woman I spoke with to schedule the appointment... We reschedule for the next day - he has to stay overnight, standard. We go back to pick him up and as we wait take care of our bill. When she told us the total we were SHOCKED - it was $450+ more than the highest amount on the range she gave us. So I questioned her - she said "no, no I never told you that amount, just the Dr. is more than that, I even wrote down our conversation, it's here somewhere" as she digs through the trash to look for her notes from 4 days prior. She starts to talk and talk about our conversation, none of what she was saying was even close to the truth. She flat out lied on the phone and to our faces. We paid, because we wanted our dog back and I asked to speak with the Dr. He came out and I explained to him what happened. He says "I don't know anything of what she told you" and just shrugs his shoulders. THAT'S IT. So we get our little guy and go home. Once we get home I take a look at his incision remember this is his third, so we are aware of what it should look like I immediately started crying. His tummy is all black and blue, he had multiple cuts on his hind legs, the incision and stitches are messy and he is all swollen and red. Very clearly infected - upon returning from the vet. We ended up taking him to a different vet, getting new medications for infection, inflammation and pain. Not once did the office that did the surgery call and check-up on him. However, the new vet we went to, to clean up the others mess - called multiple times. We, obviously will never return to this vet. They are lacking integrity and are completely dishonest. Read Less

Read Less
