Dr. Strauss is amazing! The level of care and consideration he places with his patients and their beloved pet is absolutely incredible. He values each and every patient that comes in his office. He is 100% HONEST! The staff as well treat your pets as their own. I have never had a bad experience with their services, I've had routine check ups, as well as grooming. And most recent an after hour phone call on Dr. Strauss's personal phone on Sunday (Fathers Day) of all days! My baby pup jumped out of my daughters hand and hurt her leg. I called Dr. Strauss.. he told me exactly what to do and walked me through the process as well as called the following day to make sure I was treated well. He is truly a wonderful caring Doctor and I would not take my pet anywhere else, why would I. I want nothing but the best! And Weston Road Animal Hospital is a gem! BEST ANIMAL DOCTOR EVER! Was referred here by a friend of mine and now i know why! From the time we were greeted from the front desk girls with smiles and welcomes  to the small touch of having a welcome sign with my pets name on it as we walked into the exam room!Then, the Exam by Dr Strauss was so thorough with lots of important information as well as an interactive exam! I've Never had a doctors office be so warm and inviting and a doctor take such time and care out to make sure everything was covered!  I will be bringing my other pets here as well from now on! Excellent vets, but not cheap. Thorough and gentle. Dr. Feldt will get you out fast, and Dr. Strauss will explain everything to you in as much detail as you want. The techs are great and the ladies up front are excellent at their jobs and love your pets! They handle birds & EXOTICS as well!!! Read Less

I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude & appreciation to Dr. Strauss for his GREAT compassion & knowledge during a very difficult time for myself & family. He treated my ferret for about 2 years. He was now 6 years old when he suddenly became very sick. I called the emergency number & he immediately responded. He very patiently explained things to me & told me to bring him in to the office. Unfortunately, my ferret suffered an internal bleed therefore best decision was to put him down at this time. This was very difficult since I had recently lost my dog of 11 years to cancer. I was still grieving my dog therefore Dr. Strauss sat me down & provided me with grief counseling. He also called my daughter who is away at college to talk to her to explain the situation since the ferret was actually her pet. As a nurse for 30 years, I can tell you that doctors like him are rare & almost extinct! I commend him for compassion & devotion to his profession as well as his care for the human pet owners. The best animal doctors. I have been going to Dr. Samuel Strauss since 1997 and I would never trust anyone else with my pets. They always do their best to accommodate us and our busy schedule. The staff is courteous and caring. They don't do unnecessary testing and always give you the best medical care. Read Less

My wife received a huge lecture from this Dr. Strauss about our pet's having an annual physical and vaccines and how we were "very irresponsible and should not own pets" because of this.  Thanks for the info pal.... but our cats have and will always be inside cats and are extrememly stressed when out of the house for any reason.  There are very polite ways to suggest to people/clients/a potential referral source, that they should have their animals brought in annually.  In a business perspective this is idiotic..... do you think we would refer anyone after this??So, my opinion is that Dr. Strauss just wants money... and if you do not give him at least annual money.... he has a terrible attitude towards you and your animals.  Garbage.Do NOT go here... anywhere else is better. Dr. Strauss has been taking care of my pets since 2007. I couldn't be more thankful for all his great care and dedication. He is a very dedicated and highly knowledgeable veterinarian. His staff is wonderful, they know me and they know my children, they are always ready to give me answers or comfort during difficult times. There is no way to describe the feelings you go through when you lose a pet....I have had two cats for over 15 years and when we came home after a few days away over the Christmas holiday, one of my cats was sick. We had no idea how sick until we arrived at the Animal Hospital.I have indoor cats so I don't have a regular vet...I called as soon as WRAM opened and was told to bring Wylie right in. Everyone was so kind and accommodating when we arrived. We met with the Vet Tech and he truly showed compassion and love to my cat throughout the whole meeting. We then met with the Vet and got the same warm feeling as well.They needed to run some tests and told us to come back in an hour....when we got back it was the worst news ever. The Dr. was so kind, considerate, and compassionate. The Dr. took so much time with us to explain our options. He even talked about his own cat that was about the same age.We all decided together the best option but unfortunately we lost our sweet kitty that day. I can't imagine going through this with anyone else....the team, staff and Dr. were absolutely amazing as we completely feel apart through the process. Since that day, we have received calls, cards and even a sweet plaque with a paw print from our kitty...mind you we were only a patient for a day but were treated like they knew us for years! When my dog was income to this practice, I got follow up calls to see how he was doing.  When my dog was given a deadly diagnose the calls and compassion ceased to exist.  My imagination?...I think not!  Prices on meds both over the counter and not are WAYYYY higher than reputable internet sites.  Do your research! I first found Dr. Strauss when my rabbit broke his foot. I took him to another vet which told me to put him down. I refused to do it so I took him to Weston Road Animal Hospital and Dr. Strauss put him in a cast. He wasn't a happy bunny but he was alive. And he survived his cast just fine. I soon transferred all of my and my mother's animals to them. (At the time four dogs, six cats, and two rabbits.) I don't know what I would do with out Weston Road. I find Dr. Strauss to be very up to date with veterinarian medicine and I trust any decision he makes for my family pets. I feel completely confident leaving my dogs in his care and in my absence if there were a life threatening situation, I have no doubt that Dr. Strauss would do the very best of his ability to do whatever he can for them. After i've read some complain about dr. Strauss and his staff. I am in shock, one thing that i learned is that , every body make mistake, EVEN GOD. I've been visiting with my two princess (diva and sandy) this hospital since they were born ( 5 years ago) and i don't have any complain, all his staff are polite, deligence and very care, and dr. Strauss is always there for my princess when i need him, when i leave sandy and diva on board they make sure that they are together, i call every single day to see how they're doing , and if there is any emergency they call me to let me know what is happening ( that happened on dec.2010) I cannot believe how human beings can be so distructive because they don't have the result that they are expecting. We have to understand that our pet get ( as us) get old and some day they have to die (that's the life) about dr. Strauss prepotence and that he doesn't talk to the pets owner, that is not true, i always wait for my turn and he talk to me, he call me when i am waiting for some diagnosis, and he return my phone calls. To those people that wrote those awful things about Weston Road Animal Hospital first check and analyse inside yourself and maybe you are the kind of person that never are satisfied with anything. Please don't be so distructive you have to respect to be respected, and you will be treated the way that you treat the other people. About the high price, i invited all of you to check the price in all the clinic around Weston and near by. If you want cheppear price , please go to human society and you will be helping others. Front Staff provides excellent customer service. Dr. Strauss is a very caring and detail oriented in providing the customer information about the prognosis of the patient. He is very diligent in following up on results of tests and researching to provide the most current diagnosis for your pets. Friendly Staff always follows up the next day to see how your pet is doing after procedures. Has an Excellent groomer. Good location. I have been doing business with them for over 5 years when I first came to South Florida. I had one bad experience before with boarding, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. My wife and I have decided to not do business with them again due in large part to our recent boarding experience. Our dog was boarded there for 2 nights. During that period of time, we were charged for flea collar(22.89), 2 baths for a 41-60lb dog(he weighs 30Ibs) at a cost of 67.20 and boarding also at the 41-60IB rate. I presume that the 30 Ib rate might be cheaper. There was also a charge for 15 dollars for a flea and tick bath. I checked the dog prior to bringing him in and did not see or feel any ticks on him what so ever. Yet, the staff saw fit to say in front of other customers that he was covered in them. I was a little embarrassed to notice the other customer looking at me after that comment. You make your own decision, but I am tired of being overcharged by them and will look at boarding elsewhere. The staff is wonderful, loving, careing and completely dedicated to the animals. At 4:00 in the morning my puppy became very ill. I called them and in five minutes I received a return call. Chiquita was treated there for three days. I went to check on her several times a day along with many phone calls. My phone rang off the hook with updates. It was as if she was the only animal in their care. Everyone was very supportive during this most difficult time. It was truly a life or death situation.
