Dr. Jan is amazing. She doesn't give you a bunch of bs expensive tests, mris, X rays, or strong drugs. She first asks you put your dog on a good diet and treats problems with herbal or vitamin regiments, instead of expensive drugs. My dog had liver and heart enzymes that indicated some kind of impending failure. My old vet just said he had a heart murmur, and oh well. He ordered expensive xrays. She gave me some herbs and changed his diet, and gave him a cheaper blood test. 6 months later is heart and liver enzymes are back to normal. In my opinion the medication my dog was getting strained his liver the way Tylenol is not good for humans' livers. She took him off of those drugs, and his liver and heart enzymes went to normal. She also was the only one of 4 vets to diagnose that my other dog had glaucoma. She had been in pain for years until Dr Jan diagnosed her and pointed me to a place to get proper treatment. Other vets had just said. Oh, she's blind. Now my dog has had treatment for her glaucoma, and is no longer in pain after the equivalent of a person having a migraine for two years. I have many friends who have been to her from everything from Cushing to ibs. She cured my friend's dogs chronic ibs with one change in diet where his other vet had sold him pricey food and steroids. She took the dog off the steroids, changed the diet, and in one week, no more IBS. She tells it like it is, and does not hold anything back. She doesn't offer expensive tests, but she does have cutting edge knowledge of pet health that most vets don't have including herbal remedies, vitamins, and health therapies and food allergies that are the result of many simply cured maladies. She doesn't try to sell you prescription science diet dog food and take a skim off the top. She will show you the ingredients in your expensive dog food from the vet, so you know you are getting snowed. She does offer acupuncture, but she doesn't try to sell you on it. In fact the only way I knew she did it is because a nurse mentioned it. Dr. Jan is very humble. The only thing she has ever tried to guide me to buy or anyone who took their pets there was a good diet and supplements, but you could buy them online. And although they sell them in the office they tell you they are available online. I'll be honest, she does like a raw food diet, and she will probably tell you your dog is overweight, but she doesn't force any changes on you. I cannot sing her praises enough. Read Less
