We've been to a lot of different vets over the years owning three different dogs and moving around a lot. I have to say that Dr. Valentine is one of the very best! It is obvious that she really cares about pet health and vitality, and she spends the needed time to explain things to her clients and answer questions. She helped our Boston Terrier through a health scare due to heart failure, and we have the utmost confidence in her and the treatment plan going forward. The staff is great too! I love that this is a small, one-vet office, so you always see the same people, and the waiting room isn't full of other dogs. Five big stars! Read Less

After using the same veterinary clinic for almost 8 years for our Leonberger, we took him to Dr. Valentine at Cedar Bay Veterinary Clinic. Our Leonberger had been licking one of his paws for over a year and had developed a licking granuloma. We had taken him to our regular veterinary clinic several times for this problem and they had given us antibiotic wipes and a cone to put around his neck to keep him from licking. After 2 weeks of the cone, the granuloma would be healed up, but he would start licking it immediately after removing the cone; and we would start the process all over again. Our previous vet told me at our last visit, that there was nothing that we could do about this. He said it was just from anxiety. Our groomer, Ashley, from Woof Gang Bakery in Winter Garden recommended that we take our Leonberger to see Dr. Valentine at Cedar Bay, as she noticed a staph infection developing. Dr. Valentine and her staff were incredible! They spent an hour with our Leonberger. She ran some tests and discovered bacteria in the staph infection and in the lick granuloma. She prescribed antibiotics, changed his food and began laser treatments on the lick granuloma. After 1 week, we have a different dog! He has more energy, is no longer licking his paw, and it is almost completely healed up. I am so grateful to our groomer for her recommendation of Cedar Bay Veterinary Clinic and to Dr. Valentine and her staff. Henry, the Leonberger, walked right into the Cedar Bay Veterinary Clinic today and right into the exam room without any hesitation. The picture is Henry getting a laser treatment. Dr. Valentine is amazingly gentle. My girl is always very sensitive and fearful when at the vet's. I have heard my girl screaming from the back room with other vets and even with invasive anal gland expression, she gives just a small whine when Dr. Valentine works on her. I don't normally right reviews but I felt like this was important. I made an appointment to see Dr.Valentine. On her website it says that they are an integrative clinic which might be true with Dr.Valentine but unexpectedly we ended up with another vet that didn't know much about the practice. He was just filling in for the day. I didn't like his vibe. When he left the room he didn't even say bye. He just walked out which I found so unprofessional. I felt like he didn't try hard enough to help me find a reason for my dogs issues. I felt like I wasted my money here. I didn't see the person I wanted and didn't get the results I expected plus they charge $18 for a nail trim which is to pricey. I'm mad because I spent so much money there for no reason and I got treated with poor service. It really bothers me. If you are going to charge so much I expect the service to be professional and friendly. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Valentine! She was truly an answer to prayer, and she gave me my dog back! When I first took my 6 year old Golden Retriever to Cedar Bay, she was suffering - chewing her paws nonstop, scratching her chin until nearly raw, constant ear infections and inflamed, itchy skin. I had taken her to numerous other veterinarians (in 3 different states) who just brushed her symptoms off as "allergies" and told me to give her Benadryl DAILY. My poor girl was so drowsy, uncomfortable and unhappy. I was at a loss for what to do, so when we moved I searched for "holistic vets" in Orlando. That is what led me to Dr. Valentine! I'm so glad I found her. Dr. Valentine examined Paisley with a fine-tooth comb, head to tail, even checked  between the pads on her feet! She does this every visit and stays in the room during the whole appointment, so you witness everything they do with your pet. Dr. Valentine focuses on educating you as a pet parent and treating your pet from the inside out through a combination of conventional medicine, vitamins and nutrition. She recommends diet and lifestyle changes for long-term treatment rather than prescribing expensive medicines that will only put a bandaid on the problem. If you take her advice your pet will get great results. The office is simple and clean, and they don't over charge. I can always get an appointment, and Dr. Valentine is easy to get a hold of on the phone if I have a question. Dr. Valentine and her staff are kind, honest, thorough and they will truly care about your four-legged family member! Read Less

Some people might not believe me and I'm glad others have had good experiences here. I wish I had too because my pets health is my number one priority, but if I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Everything is apparently an "allergy" no matter what I've gone in for. I could bring a cat or dog in there with a broken leg and I'd be told it's "allergies go home and give them a Claritin." when it's clear my pet needs antibiotics, also she says she will approve prescriptions or order them for your pets and never does or won't approve multiple faxes sent by the pet pharmacy. I won't ever waste my money here again instead I'll go somewhere where I will be treated like a human being and get the medication that my pets needs. If you are not rich and don't drive a Mercedes they treat you like a second class citizen, but of course they don't care about one poor persons money! I hate to think how many pets could have possibly died because of her negligent care and not giving proper medications. Update 3 days later: I find it funny that Dr. V lied and said she doesn't know who I am, but mysteriously after she posted her own comment in response to mine, then only then were my pets meds available for pick up and my 1-800 pet meds request approved. Yet I still have to spend more money and go to another vet because she refuses to give my baby oral antibiotics for a URI, and would only give me topical antibiotics after I had to plead with her. hopefully it doesn't turn into pneumonia by Monday.Read Less

We recently took our 7.5 year old Chihuahua, Peyton, to Dr Holly Valentine at Cedar Bay. She took over the practice from Dr Jan, whom we saw a year ago. Our reason for visit was a check up as we had noticed our dog losing a couple of adult teeth. He had bad breath and was acting a little lethargic. I just thought it was age-related, until the teeth loss. We were immediately at ease with Dr Valentine. She addressed all of our concerns and questions- honestly, at our initial visit we were there for 1.5-2 hours as I did have a lot of questions. She did recommend that he undergo a dental procedure with extractions, due to abscesses and gingivitis. I've avoided anesthesia with him due to some issues with coughing. She performed a very thorough exam, Xray, and blood work.  We scheduled the procedure and were sent home with antibiotics and instructions. After the first visit, my husband and I both commented on how at ease we were with Dr Valentine and Ashley, the vet tech. Camie at the front desk is also very nice and caring. I've been to multiple vets here in Orlando, and I feel she is the first to actually listen to us and provide honest feedback. Also, she was so loving and sweet to our nervous Chihuahua. Even with misgivings, I did go forward with the procedure. I am an anxious doggy mom, and was in tears about leaving him that day. Dr Valentine was there when we dropped him off, and was holding him in her arms when we left. A few hours later, she called to let us know that he was fine and everything was finished. We picked him up later that day and met with her again to go over instructions for aftercare. We went back today for follow up, and again, she was so sweet and caring. This is the best thing we've done for our dog, as he is acting as if he is 2 years old again. We will certainly use Dr Valentine at Cedar Bay for all of our pet care needs in the future and can't thank them enough!! We just got back from an appointment with Dr. Valentine, the new vet who has replaced Dr. Jan. She was excellent! She took a lot of time with us and our dog. She was both compassionate and confident with the dog, calming her and taking command of her. We went into the appointment thinking we needed to get the dog's teeth cleaned but thankfully after examining her teeth Dr. Valentine thought that providing good chewing bones and working on brushing would be adequate for now. I appreciated her counsel to avoid the anesthesia at this point. I also appreciated the gentle exhortation to keep working on being Sugar's "alpha" especially in regard to boundaries and training. Thank you Dr. Valentine and Angela, a loyal staff assistant who helped us! Thank you to Cami and Ashley as well.Read Less

Dr. Jan is amazing. She doesn't give you a bunch of bs expensive tests, mris, X rays, or strong drugs. She first asks you put your dog on a good diet and treats problems with herbal or vitamin regiments, instead of expensive drugs. My dog had liver and heart enzymes that indicated some kind of impending failure. My old vet just said he had a heart murmur, and oh well.  He ordered expensive xrays. She gave me some herbs and changed his diet, and gave him a cheaper blood test. 6 months later is heart and liver enzymes are back to normal. In my opinion the medication my dog was getting strained his liver the way Tylenol is not good for humans' livers. She took him off of those drugs, and his liver and heart enzymes went to normal. She also was the only one of 4 vets to diagnose that my other dog had glaucoma. She had been in pain for years until Dr Jan diagnosed her and pointed me to a place to get proper treatment. Other vets had just said. Oh, she's blind. Now my dog has had treatment for her glaucoma, and is no longer in pain after the equivalent of a person having a migraine for two years. I have many friends who have been to her from everything from Cushing to ibs. She cured my friend's dogs chronic ibs with one change in diet where his other vet had sold him pricey food and steroids. She took the dog off the steroids, changed the diet, and in one week, no more IBS. She tells it like it is, and does not hold anything back. She doesn't offer expensive tests, but she does have cutting edge knowledge of pet health that most vets don't have including herbal remedies, vitamins, and health therapies and food allergies that are the result of many simply cured maladies. She doesn't try to sell you prescription science diet dog food and take a skim off the top. She will show you the ingredients in your expensive dog food from the vet, so you know you are getting snowed. She does offer acupuncture, but she doesn't try to sell you on it. In fact the only way I knew she did it is because a nurse mentioned it. Dr. Jan is very humble. The only thing she has ever tried to guide me to buy or anyone who took their pets there was a good diet and supplements, but you could buy them online. And although they sell them in the office they tell you they are available online. I'll be honest, she does like a raw food diet, and she will probably tell you your dog is overweight, but she doesn't force any changes on you. I cannot sing her praises enough. Read Less

For me, I'm a big fan of the really reasonable pricing and the fact that she took time out to actually look at and examine my girl and make sure that I knew everything I needed to know about her.  Her staff is also A+ (I wish MY doctor had staff so good!) and I'm looking forward to seeing her for many years to come.10/10 would recommend.

Read Less
