My whole family has ALWAYS used this vet. So I figured it was a great place to take our own fur babies. So I paid for a puppy package. Pay and get 3 puppy visits easy as that right? Wrong. I used one visit. (One out of three visits) then due to unforeseen circumstances we rehomed the puppy. ( Two visits are left) fast forward to 8+ months and we have a new puppy. Bought him from some seemingly shady people so of course we'd like him to get a wellness check. Well guess what? those two visits I paid for are being refused. Literally found every reason they could think of not to provide the service I paid for. It's infuriating to think instead of being decent and performing the service and then letting me pay for the third visit I had already used they are just going to keep my money and not work with me in any way. Since the puppy pack is for three visits .For shots. I was more than willing to use the two I previously paid for and pay for the third one since I had used one previously. I have been visiting from NE and my baby boy Jalapeño got very sick very quickly. I almost lost him. I called Parkside and they were so kind and took us right in. Jessica and Dr Losey went out of their way...while in surgery with another patient....and saved my baby’s life. All of the staff members were so kind and compassionate and concerned. The staff is very caring with the animals and pet parents. When I had to put my Daisy down, I was extremely upset. The staff was very gentle with her and very compassionate with me. They took care of the payment without me having to go out into the waiting area. They let me exit thru the side door and even carried her to my vehicle so she could be laid to rest at home. We also lost our furbaby after 20 yrs. He was, unfortunately, too old to be able to walk or care for himself in any way. In the end we had to make the heartbreaking decision to do the humane thing for him. Parkside's staff was amazing, they were caring and empathetic, they explained everything that was going to happen and were so kind and gentle to our old boy. I was given the opportunity to say goodbye and able to stay with him while he drifted off to sleep. They were very caring throughout the entire process and a few days later we even received a very unexpected sympathy card in the mail that everyone had signed. The staff and doctors at this animal hospital truly are amazing, they really do go above and beyond to treat your pet just like they are a member of your family. we have taken our other pets here as well for various aliments and I would not hesitate for one moment to recommend them to friends and family. We have gone to this location for over 20 years. Dr. Loses has always been kind, caring, and reasonably priced. We have gotten excellent care from Dr. Hoke for our elderly Doxie and she was very kind and compassionate when we had to make that difficult decision to let her go. Her son is 11 and we took him for an ear infection, the care was good we did not get as much explanation of treatment this time and it the bill seemed steep. We live a few miles away and could go to a closer vet but we have trusted this facility with our four legged children a long time. It is becoming a harder choice at these prices. I realize care is getting more expensive but we have to be conscientious about our ability to pay. Food for thought. Read Less

My dad took his 12 year old golden here who had suffered a leg injury and hadnt eaten in 2 days. He was going to use his mothers credit card until he was paid next week. The girl at the front desk sent him home to get another card because he did not have her 3 digit security code. I offered to pay for the vet bill and gave him my card info. He returned (about a 2 hour process now) and attempted to get his dog treated but now the receptionist said they would not take payment without me being there. I called the vet and offered my checking/routing number, debit card, I even offered PayPal. I am 6 hours away but will be down this weekend and I offered to pay then in cash. My concern was getting the dog well. The girl told me this was their process and a manager would not take my payment. I explained you can call any store country wide and pay with a card over the phone so why not help me save my dads dying dog. She was giggly the entire time and kept blaming the decision on management. My mind is blown. I offered every method of payment known to man and they CHOSE not to work with me. His dog didnt matter to them. The worst part is they are the ones who told him they would take a card over the phone to begin with why else would he have returned ? I will be filing a BBB complaint and I will follow up. Worst service ever.Read Less

We have 2 dogs...lab/ German Shepherd mix..We have been taking our animals to Parkside for quite some time and have been very pleased with the medical care our animals have had.  We began kenneling them also which has worked out well except for the last time we took them.  We took them in at 4:30 p.m.  and picked them up at 4:00 p.m. the next day...a total of 23.5 hrs.  We took their food as well as their bedding.  When we picked them up, we were charged $90.00 which included their boarding fee and a fecal test they do routinely.  The fecal test was $10.00. I am waiting to hear from the owner of the facility as to the justification of the charge.  I understand that they consider one day to be from 11:00 -11:00 the next day but one does not need to drop off so early. It was explained to me by a staff member that we were not charged for the day we dropped them off, but for the next day..which, would still be $50.00.  I am frustrated with the charge. Read Less

I really loved the vet we use to go to but am so glad we started going here. They are very close to us which is a real plus. Now what I really love is the staff they are all so caring, and like this morning, I was a walk in as noticed a growth or sore on my older dog Max's leg yesterday and today it was bigger. Dr. Hoke finished up the surgery she was doing and saw us right away and did a quick surgery to remove the growth, and checked it out good under the microscope and was able to tell it was not cancer and did not need a biopsy. A practice that offers "declaw specials" is hardly a place I'd want my animals to go. If the veterinarians are so antiquated (and uneducated? Unresponsible?) that they not only offer this surgery but encourage the cosmetic procedure with a sale I question their ability to keep current with the newest and best treatments. Read Less

My cat was very sick on a Saturday.   Thank God, Parkside was open on Saturdays till 6.  I had limited money to pay for tests, but I was desperate to keep him alive.  Dr.  Mejia was very understanding and caring.  She ran blood tests until  she ruled out most of the common infections for a young cat.  I was in her office most of the day, but she wasn't able to isolate the infection without more tests.  Instead of pushing me to do more tests, and charging me more money, she gave him a strong antibiotic and supplements to boost his immune system.  Within 2 days, he was better.  Today my cat is a healthy 3 yr old.  Just wanted to give Dr. Mejia credit for not using my love for my cat to charge me for more tests to identify the infection.  Sometimes an educated guess is all you need to heal  a pet.  Thank you Dr. Mejia! I've only checked out 3 or 4 veterinarians, but I stopped looking anywhere else once I walked in and met the staff. They were caring and patient so Sasha could adjust to them and the new environment. There's a monthly drawing for 'Pet of the Month' and she was the May's winner. Along with your pet's photos on their wall, you receive a goody bag filled with great stuff. The doctors treat your pet with love and 'My Brittany' is the BEST receptionist ever. She goes beyond her job description to make sure that you and your pet are comfortable and happy. My husband and I have done business with Losey Animal Hospital for over 10 years. We have lived all over the east coast and have had many vets and must say that our experience there has been the best. Dr. Losey has taken care of 5 of our dogs and 3 cats. I would rate his expertise, professionalism, character and service with an A plus. His wife, Kay, works in the office, as well, managing the staff. Our experience with her has been exceptional. Several of their staff have told me how good and generous they are to them. That is why I am writing this review. I read the review from a disgruntled employee, whom I met once, and was really shocked at what she said. If you have an animal and have not found a vet whom you would trust with your animal's life----go to Losey Animal Hospital. We take our dogs here to the vet and we also board them here when we go out of town. The staff is ALWAYS so friendly and they remember the dogs' names. My dog is always excited to see a few of the staff members, so I know when we leave them here, the girls must take great care of them. I definitely recommend the Losey Animal Clinic. Read Less
