My partner and I recently moved into the area from out of state. We have a 9yo Chihuahua and 2yo Shepherd, so our search for a vet in the local area was something we did as soon as our boxes were unpacked. I love this place Dr Andy is great he saved my kitten life. I took my two kittens to get fixed at spay and save to get fixed and one kitten was ok but the other one stiches broke open so I took her back there and they put Staples in and sent home antibiotics three days later the Staples had come apart. I called a friend and she said to take her to Dr Andy. I got in that morning my kitten jumped right into his arms when he took her out and right then as he said to me I'm going to call her my kitty for a couple of days and I felt a big relief because€ I could she trusted him and animals are good at picking out people so there for I knew she was in good hands. I took a neighborhood outside cat in for treatment after it had gotten a terrible infection from a bite from another animal. I found the practice in a hurry on the internet after quickly reading some reviews. I have never been a pet owner and the front desk staff treated me with kid gloves and kindness as far as my ability to handle the cat. The cat was medically treated with great care and appropriately conservatively so that I felt that every single thing that could be done to help this cat successfully heal from an extensive injury was done. The vet, Dr. Andy, walked us to the car when I came to take him home and said that the cat was their cat, too, at this point. I know that they are invested in his recovery. I know that the bill that I paid was significantly less than it could have been considering the amount of time that this cat spent with them and the two two surgeries that he required. I fostered, then adopted a Corgi Mix last year. It was time for her shots and annual checkup so I researched online and found Interlachen and Dr. Andy. There were a lot of positive comments and I found the services offered on their website to be very appealing. Cassie got all her shots, her teeth cleaned, a bath, nails clipped and a full physical for under 2 hours. My sweetie did very well for her first vet visit and I was very happy and comfortable with Dr Andy and his staff. I think I was more anxious than Cassie was ;-). My English Bull Dog had a cut or something on her back foot. The foot kept swelling up so I called Dr Andy at Interlachen Animal Hospital and advised his staff what was going on with my dog Dolce. His staff asked me if I could bring her in so I did. Dr. Andy after finishing with his other cliants took care of Dolce. I was hoping for a good experience based on all of the positive reviews, unfortunately that was not the case. I recently adopted a senior dog from an animal shelter and brought her in for an exam as she had obvious eye and ear issues. Dr Andy asked why I would get a dog in this condition (as far as he said, nothing serious or life threatening, would probably just need drops for her eyes and ears long term) and then asked if I could return her. As in return her back to the kill shelter we just adopted her from. And he said this in front of my two small children. And since I had two small children, why didnt I just adopt a puppy instead. As an animal lover myself, I felt sad that a vet would even say such a thing. I felt there was no way I could trust him with the well being of my dog. I did not naively adopt a senior dog thinking she would be in perfect health, but hoped I would be able to find a compassionate vet to help me insure the remainder of her days would be good. Dr. Andy and his staff were very professional and kind during my first visit to their office. Dr. Andy took his time explaining to me and my husband our pets' needs and educated us on his reasons for recommending certain medications and treatments. The next day, I took our dog to be groomed at their office by Kathy, their pet groomer. She was very loving towards our dog and did an excellent job cutting our dog's hair. He saved my cats life. My cat was on the brink of dying. Took him to Banfield in Oviedo and he was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. 6 medications and $700 later he was still in horrible shape. Took him to Dr.Andy and was given antibiotics for a flu. He told me to discard all medication Banfield prescribe him and just monitor and feed him. Not only has Dr. Andy helped me with all of my pets, I have sent friends to him who have gone to several other veterinarians who could not find or fix their pet's problem and Dr. Andy was able to diagnose and successfully treat their problem on the first visit. Absolutely the best veterinarian I have ever met (and I have spent a bit of time working with animal shelters and ill pets.) One of my cats had been diagnosed by another veterinarian as having an incurable and contagious parasitic disease that is transmissible to humans. I took Kazuki in to see Dr. Andy and he was able to diagnose within a few minutes that there were no "brain worms" in Kazuki, she just had a neurological reaction to the S-Methoprene in the horrible flea medicine he had applied to her (please don't use cheap topical flea meds on your cat.) Dr. Andy gave us a proper flea control medication to use and within a couple of weeks, Kazuki was again able to walk straight and jump and play and was a normal cat again. My husband and I just moved cross country with our 3 rescue dogs (lab mixes), ages 7, 5 and 1. We initially went to a different vet that had higher yelp reviews to look at our youngest who had been limping, but overall we were dissatisfied with the experience. All 3 had annuals coming up, so I booked them in at Interlachen Animal Hospital. I actually don't think the experience could have been better. The total cost was significantly lower than I had anticipated, which has literally NEVER happened before ($665 for 3 exams,  ALL their shots, plus heartworm tests, and 2 dental cleanings, in case you're wondering; my vet back home would have easily been double that). The older 2 had dental work done (just standard cleanings) at what I would consider to be an extremely reasonable price ($125 each). The best part was they don't put them under general, they just do local (valium). Not only is this safer, because you avoid the risks associated with general, but it's also much faster recovery peroid for the dog (they're back to normal in a couple hours) and significantly cheaper (none of the excess costs in administering general are required). Plus they trimmed the eldest's nails free of charge while she was under.  All 3 are VERY nervous of the vet, but Dr. Andy was extremely sensitive to my concerns and their needs. Overall I was extremely impressed and am so happy to have found a great vet for our girls. Read Less

Kozmo and Kizmet have been going to Dr Andy since they were baby pups; they are 4 and 5 now. They are sweet and loving Doxies and Dr Andy takes excellent care treating them like family members. I am the type of doggie mommy that just wants the best. I don't want them to wait for me to approve... I just want my babies cared for. I know Dr Andy will do this and he will make sure they don't feel pain because that is always my preference. Only the best for my pups and Dr Andy delivers high quality. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE!!!!!Dr. Andy almost killed my dog!! He insisted that my very relaxed, easy going dog be sedated for x-rays. Hours later after picking him up he became lethargic and almost stopped breathing. I had to take my dog to the emergency vet at 4am and he almost died!!! When the records were requested for the new vet to take a look at what medication was given and what was observed following the sedation mostly for future reference THERE WAS NO DOCUMENTATION OF THE EVENT EVER HAPPENING!!!! He never tried to explain what he thought might have happened, he never followed up to see if my dog recovered, AND HE NEVER APOLOGIZED!!!! Read Less

I took my poor, flea-infested cat in to see Dr. Andy. She was losing blood and was very tired and weak; it was horrible. Dr. Andy gave her an annual exam, tested her for worms, and treated her with three different medications (simultaneously). She also got a free bath and teeth cleaning when I got her shots. We have NOT been here in probably six years.  We actually left for the reason I am detailing here and I now know just how RIGHT we were.At less than five years of age, the doctors here strongly suggested we have rather major surgery on one of our Boxers, Katie.  They showed us x-rays, issues with hip and knee.TODAY, that same Boxer turned 10 years old and she runs around like a PUPPY!  Our neighbors comment on how amazing she is, that they can't believe she is now 10.  All we have done is give her chondrontin / glucosamine treats for the last two to three years, NO surgeries.We left these guys to start going to a new vet in Oviedo we absolutely LOVE.I would NOT go back here, as I do not trust their judgment, felt like we were simply money pinatas to them, that the care and well-being of our precious girls was not the paramount issue. I met Dr Andy just yesterday when I brought my 2 new puppies in for a check up. From the receptionist Melissa, to Daryl the vet tech and to Dr Andy himself, we were all treated like family. My pups were given a careful examination, they were treated with kindness and care. Doctor Andy made sure to take care of my kitten last week. He took his time and explained everything. I brought my 4 month old kitten to the vet for the first time. This is the first pet I have ever owned. Doctor Andy took the time to show me how to properly care for my new pet and which medication for fleas was best. Dr. Andy and the staff of Interlachen Animal Hospital offered a Dental Special during the time when I was boarding my little dog, Max. It was very convenient and the price was affordable ($98). What I liked about it the most was the fact that they used Valium to relax Max and take away the fear and anxiety. My previous vet used General Anesthesia and this was far safer and less expensive. FIrst, I second that motion of BKEaton's review (any relation to Lord Byron Keats or Yeats is it?) I must admit, I ORGINALLY was hesitant to go there, based on ONE review of a man in 2010, but due to friends whom had gone there and my pastor also brings his kitties to see Dr. Andy, so I said, well, ONE review...out of many. So I said' what the heck"" he isn't that hard to find and it made me feel safe and secure when one see's where it is located. My experience was nothing BUT professional. HOwever, there is a quality about Dr. ANdy, that no Veterinary School or ANY school can teach, but I felt it with him every time and I see it in his mannerisms and voice (as well as a fountain of knowledge) but it was that warm tender feeling which enables one to feel at ease and that his motives as a vEterinarian are ONE: to help, to save, to cure, to console to provide one with hope, I dint' get the feel he was in it fro the money, AND BELIEVE ME...to prove that to ME, is tough. There is a Je Na C'est Quoi about him (I think that is mispelled oops) ANYONE can spew out blood results, and collect checks or cc or cash, and send you on ur way but he didtn't. As a matter of fact, I thought I would play Vet and do my own research (out smart the DOC), well, i tried to tell HIM what I wanted him to do in the way of tests and I believed I knew more than he, HOWEVER, he reiterated several times ""you do not need to have these tests, there is no sense in spending money for tests you don't need"" I swallowed my pride, but later, I thought WOW if more businesses and Drs. could be so honest and sincere as He is and was..TRUST me those tests I INSISTED Sam (our dog) needed would be VERY costly, but I am so grateful I took DR, ANDY;S ADVICE AND NOT THE COMPUTER'S (( I see now why he as a PHD and I don't ha ha ha) LOng winded, but I normally do't do reviews, only 24 hrs in a day, BUT WHEN I had my experience and KNEW originally I would allow ONE (rather funny actually) bad review determine facts for me, I HAD to see for myself, and honestly that isREALLY HILARIOUS and doesn't fit the profile I conjured up after my experience Dr. Andy, about the dog being drunk and doped up on Valiums, I guess looking back NONE of what that clients perception of reality is based in logic. My experiment proved successful: Dr. Andy is the man. HE IS THE NEIGHBORHOOD VET, because he makes you feel like a welcoming warm concerned neighbour. NOPE, NO ONE ELSE FOR ME BUT HIM. The vet was very thorough and took his time to examine my pets and actually cared that I was completely satisfied. My dog needed some Dental care, but since it was Saturday, Dr. Andy suggested we perform the work on a weekday so that he would have plenty of time instead of trying to rush. Dr. Andy gave my dogs too much Valium and it wouldn't wake up for two days. Then when I called his emergency hot-line, it went to him but he disguised his voice. He wouldn't answer my questions or address my concerns so that I would go in and play 130 dollars to have him say my dogs just drunk. Read Less

I have been really pleased with this place so far. I have two Mini Dachsund puppies. I took them to Dr. Andy for their shots and their spay/neuter. One puppy had a more complicated surgery to be neutered and everything went fine. Dr. Andy explained the details to me so I felt very comfortable with the procedure. The prices for the visits, shots, spay/neuter I thought were very good compared to other prices I have seen from my Mom's or friend's vets in Winter Park and Waterford. As with most vets, the prices on products like REvolution for fleas and ticks are not good,  however they did tell me they will match any price I find on this, even online, as long as it is not lower than what they paid for it.Last, I will say the thing I really like is the electronic communications from this vet. I get e-mail reminders for appointments. Also, when I had my puppies fixed, the office sent me an e-mail reminder to come have their stitches removed. This is really convenient. Read Less

I took my Cocker Spaniel here today for a dental cleaning. They were offering a special this month. I was concerned about the age of my dog and the risk. The staff was very understanding explained the procedure to me. Long story short I have a happy dog with clean teeth. They did an awesome job and were very friendly and professional.
