Took us back at our appointment time. Took time to answer all of my questions and concerns. They were knowledgeable and diagnosed her spot on. The medication and home remedies they suggested have worked great! I am now able to prevent her condition by being proactive instead of letting it go because I wasn't aware of the signs and then being forced to being reactive all the while my baby girl 🐕🐾 suffered. In the beginning I did not like the way the girl on the phone came across with me because it did not look like she appreciated having potential customers in the establishment she only works for and does not even own but thankfully the service they gave my pet was alright in contrast of the customer service I received on the phone. Similar negative experiences to other reviewers. However, I feel Dr Stubblefield is responsible for her employees and the culture created by their actions. On my first visit she told me it’s okay to beat a dog for certain behaviors. NEVER is beating a dog acceptable! That visit should have been my last but I returned for follow up care because my dog needed a second treatment for kennel cough. What a huge mistake! I could go on but refuse to give any more time to such a poorly run establishment. On second thought, I wish to share s but more...Monday I made an appointment to 11/22. On Tuesday after calling about dropping off a fecal sample, I arrived at 12:15 and the door was locked while someone was at the desk who did not acknowledge my presence so I left upset. When I went back after work, I expressed frustrations. Today (11/22) Dr. Stubblefield refused to treat my dogs skin condition because I expressed dissatisfaction. All of us here at Mayfair love working with animals. The reviews about dogs losing weight while they board are simply because the owner does not bring the dogs regular food and/or the dog is stressed/depressed from being away from home. I assure you, no one is starved. As for pets leaving with fleas that is something that just does not happen. When a pet is out of the home for a period of time then re-enters the fleas go crazy because they have had nothing to feed on. It takes 3 months to break a fleas life cycle. Our kennels are very large , covered, outdoor kennels. We also have indoor kennels for those who need them. No one is EVER left in the rain or freezing cold. If it is going to be cold we bring everyone inside. If it rains they have shelter from it. And as for the constant barking coming from the back, well, we board animals so yeah they are going to bark! I bring my own animals here and trust Dr. Peggy with them completely. We do our very best to keep it smelling and looking fresh in here. But sometimes pets have accidents and it can linger even after we clean and mop it. It is an animal hospital and sometimes animals smell. But we love them all just the same! I had an appointment to get my cat two vaccinations. I waited for an hour and a half. While I was sitting there, they continued to pump people through that came in. Yes, it was busy, but I had an appointment. On top of that, it wasn't clean, nor did it smell that good (it smelled musty). When my cat went in for his appointment, I wasn't too keen on how the vets and her assistant handled him. It made me uncomfortable. I could clearly tell that they were rushing us because it was busy. Unfortunately, after waiting an hour I walked out. As a first time client, you would think that they would be eager to keep your business and build your trust in handling your pet. When I asked how many pets were in front of mine, I was told 1 more with a 6pm appointment. My appointment was at 5:45 and they had a later appointment in front of me. I'm extremely disappointed and my pet ended up not being seen. I refuse to give such an unprofessional place my money, my business and allow handling of my pet. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and if I could give it 0 stars, I would. Also, the non-stop barking coming from the back room with all the boarded dogs makes all the animals in the waiting room uneasy and adds to the overall unsatisfactory visit you will have if you go here. i personally do not recommend to take your pets to mayfair animal hospital after my experience after years of taking my maltese there and getting a monthly prescription of medicine for my pet. the mg's they gave me this time for my pet were so high my poor dog spent two full days vomiting with dirreha. and when i went to confront them and let them know what happened all i got from them was a lousy ''sorry'' keep in mind it was right after i left a voice mail that i never got a answer back. emotionally i wouldnt want any pet owner to go through what i went through. it was just a unprofessional experience and i would have atleast expected a phone call from the vet. They are always so informative and the prices she charges are great. I have two dogs and it can get expensive. I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else. This place was horrible, I brought my dog in to be put down and afterwards, they put her in a trash bag, no not put dropped her in it, they were disrespectful, they didn't care about her anymore cause she was dead. PET LOVERS BEWARE! There is a reason why the services are so cheap. They provide sub-standard care and are not knowledgeable about very common pet ailments. When I questioned whether the shot they gave my pet caused an allergic reaction; they refused to give my pet a blood test to determine the cause. I should have scene the signs, literally. The day before the appointment, I saw a lady driving a mini-van with a large handmade sign taped to the back of her vehicle that said, "Mayfair Animal Clinic killed my dog" with the date of birth-death listed below it. The person who treated my pet was not caring at all. There is no "bed-side manner" with these people. If you like being treated like crap then this is the place for you. There was urine and poop in several places in the waiting room. Don't dogs get heart worms or some other disease when licking poop? A lady waiting told the receptionist but she said that they only clean the floors after closing. NASTY! And who knows how many parasites are crawling around. The place is filthy. I had been a lon time customer of this animal hospital and I recently suggested it to my mother in law for boarding her cats. The staff now is VERY RUDE. They are in no way a part of what Mayfair used to be. I will NEVER suggest this place again and I will be looking elsewhere for my vet needs. If they intend on keeping customers or even getting new ones. I give them one start only because they wouldnt let me not give a star. Dr. Peggy Stubblefield is a very competent, concerned, and loving veterinarian to her animal patients, and is very clear, concise, and patient when discussing either medical or behavioral issues with pet owners. My beloved cat, Meeshee the Magnificent, was a patient at Mayfair about 7 years before she went to the Great Catnip Castle in the Sky due to age related illness. (She was estimated to be about 18 and had come to me from Germany, so history of her first years is unknown.) My very young kitten sisters, Midnight & Oreo (almost four months) are getting their series of baby shots at Mayfair to insure they get the very best start possible in hopefully very long lives. Their previous owner has also used Mayfair. I can't believe the bad reviews I have read on other sites. Yes, the building is old, but Dr. Peggy has made many improvements. The staff are friendly and courteous. Their updated computer system allows more efficient in and out processing. As for crowds of animals at times, who would want to use a vet whose waiting room was always empty? - that would be a red flag to me! I took my dog for an ear infection. We had a very short wait compared to other vets I have gone to. The value for the visit and the meds was very good the Dr. showed me her ear and also he showed me the bacteria under the microscope. Now all I need to do is give the medicine. Read Less
