Took my dog there for yearly shots.  The shots were $4 to $18 more than a comparable vet's office.  They also charged a New client Records Fee and did a heart worm test even though my dog has been on heart worm medication year round. A fecal test was also performed but my dog is only 2 years old and does not roam free. I was not given the opportunity to decline these tests. I was not allowed to hold my dog for shots instead a male vet tech was asked to take over even though I told them she is afraid of men.  She would have been more comfortable with just me.The staff took forever to process all of her paperwork even though they were not busy and I had to remind them to give me her rabies tag at checkout. I've brought every one of my fur babies to ZVC and have never had a a bad experience with the quality of care the Veterinarians & their team provide.  They're compassionate, knowledgeable and they truly listen to your concerns. Sneaky pricing! They charged me for my former vet to fax them my pets medical history. Their was also a horrific up charge on the medication. Shot typically range from for 25-40 dollars not including the adminstration fee. She wanted 80.00 for the shot plus. Visit fee. They must think they are working out of a Beverly Hills location! She was definitely more interested in money then her furry patients. Went to a emergency animal hospital in Wesley Chapel and still paid less money @ 11pm and still paid less, go figure! They get you in with a low 37 dollar office fee then charge the life out of pets medications! Stay away! Read Less

I love this Vet office so much!!!! They took great care of my Golden Retriever Nala and my cat Sabby!! Had to take my Rottweiler puppy Cooper in this morning on an emergency! They were absolutely wonderful with him!! The care they showed all my fur babies was top notch!! My Cooper is on the road to recovery!!! You can tell when it's just a job or a passion!! The entire clinic is great. They all are caring, helpful, and knowledgeable. Dr. Mel always goes above and beyond doctoring. She saved my cat's life, lovingly caring for him (and me) during the crisis of a misdiagnosed snakebite. Dr. Mel., Michelle, Matt,Mary, Justin and the ENTIRE STAFF at Zephyrhills Veterinary Clinic feel like family to me at this point! I TOTALLY TRUST my fur babies lives with them. Dr. Mel has been our vet for all of our last 4 dogs! They have all lived/still living happy & healthy lives. And on days like yesterday, when the day comes that we have to make that heart wrenching decision for the best interest of our babies, they were "family" and did all they could to make it as easy and painless for him and me as they could! He was in the hospital there 3 days, and they didn't care how much I called or visited! Even made him comfortable enough to take home for one last night with his family b4 going home to God. I took my dog (Jax) here because he was weak and not eating they had gave me a false diagnosis of hookworms after $350 worth of testing and told me I should try a pet hospital just in case they were wrong so I took my dog to Tampa to a pet hospital and they had found tumors in his liver and spleen that were cancerous, so my dog had cancer and had to be put down and I was charged $350 for them to give me worm medicine when he had tumors not worms! Not to mention I was here for almost 4 hours!!! No beverages or food or vending machines either. Worst place ever , I will never recommend anyone here, and if I ever decide to get another furry friend I will not take him here either. The vet hospital in Tampa was very professional though. Today I visited this office for the very first time. I had to wait a short time to get in to see the doctor. I'll say she was not chatty which was nice. She told me exactly what was going on with my little fur baby. And now together we are treating him together. I liked the matter of fact diagnosis. We will return next week to check on progress. This clinic used to be wonderful! I took my dog here for six years, but recently picked up our paperwork and will never go back. It is it not unusual for the clinic to staff to lose your chart and leave you waiting by the phone for a call back for an entire day. Don't even bother making an appointment, because you will ALWAYS wait for about an hour past your scheduled time, before even being brought back to a room. The male doctor is the worst. Not only does he go on tangents unrelated to the visit, and attempt to owner-shame in order to charge people for additional treatments... He diagnosed my dog twice with IDIOPATHIC issues. Basically, this means that he doesn't know why the issues are happening. In my opinion, a doctor who constantly diagnoses things as idiopathic is an IDIOT. The clinic overall is mediocre. Do not expect to be wowed by exceptional client service, as they seem to not understand this concept. Hope this helps! Read Less

I come from a low income family. My dog that my dad got after I lost my first dog of 13 year. Before I'll out of the blue and the only way they said they will help is if we gave he to they. I don't understand how people can be so heartless. My little brother has many mental illness. And he cried for mouths after she dead. I just don't know how we can get thought loss. Before this vet was the vet for my fur babies, I stopped in on two different occasions with emergencies that my vet at the time would not see with no appointment. The staff here dropped everything to take care of my babies, even without being a regular client. One of them occurred late in the afternoon, and they stayed for hours past closing to get my girl stable enough to make it through the night. The staff and veterinarians were the best then, and continue to be compassionate and caring now. I refuse to take my dog to any other vet! Dr Johnston and his nurses Michelle and Matt were amazing. Our dog Zeus was seen as a new patient on an emergency basis after what we think was a toxic ingestion, most likely a toad. We were seen right away, Zeus was treated with fluids and medication within min's of our arrival. They explained everything they were doing and kept us calm as they expertly saved our dogs life. We are in their debt. If you are looking for a vet to care for your animal, this is the team to have. I am a critical care flight nurse and my husband is a flight paramedic. We were both so impressed by the fast, professional, compassionate care that we walked away wishing more "people" doctors and nurses practiced up to their standards.
